Chelsea today agreed a deal for Agentine 18yr old prodigy, Franco Di Santos. He is looked at as the new maradona. (every young south american player is called that anyway). Chelsea won the battle against other top flight clubs including ManU, Liverpool, Arsenal, AcMilan.

When was the last time a young player signed for chelsea when all these top clubs where chasing the same player at the same time? He is expected to join in the Jan transfer window. He has an Italian passport, so he will join the team immediately.

Good signs coming. I still wish we signed Giovanni dos Santos.

I have always been a fan of a big squad. Not just a big squad, I have always been a fan of talented players. I believe players that combine the qualities of quickness and one touch abilities, players that are two footed and have goal sense are the only players that can bring success consistently.

I also think consistence can only be achieved when we sign young players. I do not think time and time again that signing a player over 26 years to the premiership is a good move, actually it is a dumb move. If he has not played in the premiership before, then it might be very dumb.  Maybe it will be fair to say 8 out of ten times such players will fail

I am sure we Chelsea fans understand that very well.

I am very keen to see the kind of players Avram Grant brings to the bridge in January. No disrespect to current players in Chelsea, but I think chelsea has come of age and make absolutely no sense if we don't have players that can change match situations with the snap of a finger. It does not mean that we then go ahead and win every other competition, it sure means we remain competitive.

I Have joined the group of transfer speculators on the net, scouting and sniffing looking at players that we have been recently linked with and can't help but talk about it.

What exactly do we need?

A striker. A world class striker and preferrably one that plays in the premiership already. So he does not need to adapt. No.1 - on my list Dimitar Berbatov.
     2 - Nikolas Anelka. Any thing else is not necessary.

Midfeiders - And I stress must be young.

Royston Drenthe.
Lulinha.
Renato Augusto. and a host of others. Do we need all of them? Oh yes we do. But somehow we never get these players. I mean Lulinha and Renato and 17 nd 18 respectively. Brazillians. Brilliant footballers. WE never get young players.

If we do not sign any one of them we should sign Rafeal Van devaart. We need one of these brilliant young players. The kind of flexibility that Arjen Robben offered us. WE need these players. We need to boost our squad.

I won't say there were times Jose did not request to have his complete 11 play every match. I will not say however, that he loved his players to take pain-killing injections. Jose's case is different.

Sir Alex does not have to read in the news that his job is being offered to someone else. He is a legend and then he knows if he does not win the premiership the season, he will not be sacked. We all thought JM was going summer last season. That's after he won the premiership back to back and failing to win it one more time.

When you find your self in such situations, the only option you have, coupled with the fact that you did not have the squad you want, is to play your best players at all costs.

I do not think we have anyone on the bench better than Joe Cole. If Ag had removed Joe, there was no one on the bench to bring in. The truth is we only have a big squad because we have many players. Not players that can make a difference in big matches.

Mikel is a player of class and only such players should we have in the team. Can you imagine what we can have if in our midefield we had Mikel, Quaresma, Anderi Arshavin, Modric and we had wingers like Royston Drenthe, John Utaka. With strikers like Berbatov, Nikolas Anelka. We need players that can change matches.

I think AG can do a good job. let's wait for the Jan transfer window before we judge him.

It was a good match. Arsenal came up tops. No excuses. We could have done better. It's not a title decider though we just need to be stronger.
