Ishilove: Guns don't kill people. People kill people. How you use a weapon is what makes it dangerous. In the UK with very strict gun laws, lunatics and degenerates weaponise vehicles and knives to commit atrocities. In some states any sociopath can walk into a store and buy weapons. That is where America's problems with guns lie.
That, and the dangerous liberalism that causes their society to spray perfume on bullshit. Just when I was explaining Dayo's theory of simplistic arguments to you, you've gone ahead and done one of your own. It's a completely simplistic argument to say guns don't kill people. For instance, you cannot possibly give me the lethal equivalent of an AR15 in a knife. Two assailants with murderous intent walk into a venue - one with a knife, the other with an AR15 rifle. No matter what kind of Samurai skills you have, you cannot unalive 100 people with a knife in 15 secs. The most skillful assailant with a knife gets no more than 2/3 people within said 15 secs .......on the assumption that people are running away from them. But you can, with an AR15, whether or not the people are running away from assailant. So what killed the rest 97 persons, the assailant or the gun? Extrapolating for even finer context, it is the equivalent of saying bombs don't kill people, people kill people. Simplistic arguments never get us anywhere. |

Ishilove: I was born and raised in Nigeria, and after reading everyone's perspectives, I've decided not to comment any further on a matter I don't yet fully understand. I've never experienced racism firsthand, having lived all my life in a largely racially homogeneous society.
The race issue in the US is far more complex than I initially thought, and, as a friend of mine following this thread observed, we homegrown Nigerians don't always do well with issues that are this nuanced.
That said, I do believe racism exists in the US. It may not always be overt, but it often manifests in more subtle ways, particularly through racial profiling. While Dayo may disagree that blacks are victims of racism today, it's important not to ignore the historical context behind that profiling.
Not too long ago, many blacks communities faced systemic barriers that limited opportunities, were the poorest and had to take to crime. Even though the system has changed significantly over time, the legacy of those attitudes has lingered. That lingering bias, whether conscious or subconscious, continues to influence how the whites perceive and treat blacks in the US today.
Cococandy made some very salient observations about how differently white and black kids are treated over the same crimes. You even gave an example about your homeboy's kid, which is quite disgusting really ( how can a full squad pull up over CANDY nitori Olorun??).
And for heaven's sakes, one shooting in a day?? If it were minorities behind these shootings, I can bet every buck I have that there will be a massive crackdown on these minorities.
Goodness, this one pass my power. Let me face the agbero, bandit and olodo uprising in Nigeria. I have a better understanding of those matters than the insanity happening in "God's Own Country". The problem with Dayo and his crew is engaging many times in complicated arguments, using simplistic understanding. Such arguments are characterised by statements such as: .... there cannot be institutionalised racism because the government has not explicitly created any law that impedes the endeavour of a black man.....Matter of fact, if there is no law to the effect, it does not exist, therefore there's no argument. Quite frankly, it's a mentally immature way of looking at socially-sensitive topics. |

Enzo5: Buying players won't solve our issue, getting rid of the horrible ones will, let's just know we don't have and use youth players instead This is not true. If the accounting allows, we can buy quality players that elevate overall team quality, and we can choose not to register those that don't, until they can be offloaded. We did the same for the likes of Sterling, Chilwell. |

FBS: Ok it's pre-season but not that much time left to get the team ready for the season. Rogers, Caicedo, Lacroix, Enzo, James, Penders, not in the squad. Potentially Scott, Wharton and a new LB to join the team. This game should be noted for exactly what it is - player conditioning exercise, tactical understanding/deployment , and overall personnel evaluation for team management. Plenty of the man dem are going out on loan/out of the club. |

Griffon: His arguments are not constructive. They are merely subjective opinions other than pure facts or logic.
I’m also thinking Popi may just be in his late 50s, cause I don’t understand why a “pundit” would be clamoring for a 4-4-2 setup in this time and age, whilst also demanding a Giggs 2.0 down the left wing. 50 ke? I am nearly 50. Popi must be in his 60s. |
