Passing the first stages shows u are very sound in theory and Ur cv is good. Failure in last stage shows u have work to do on answering real life challenges. Let Ur friends or someone more experienced assess u on how to deal with real life situations before going for ur next interview

I have done competency based interview where you are told to give situational instances of what you did in the past and the result and I passed most. Competency based interviews are not usually the finals.

all the stages u passed were just for formalities and document purposes. they already have there candidate right from d beginning. well keep trying there are still honest once out there .

I dont think so. I actually know some of the people given some of the employments I lost and there was no atom of godfatherism.

Might be your cocky attitude. These are self-assessments which are likely biased and subjective.

Poor hygiene .... giving off the wrong aura ( overconfidence, know-it-all manner, too keep etc) might also repulse them at the last stage.

Be confident but don't over do it... these jobs might just not be the best fit for you and yours is right by the corner. Goodluck

I scaled all down to the last stage but the final interview always doesn't favour me. There was this one I had even done medicals for and still got a reject after the final interview.
These are things I know about my job application.
My CV is definitely top notch because I get many invites.
I'm intelligent because I pass almost all recruitment test.
I sell myself also because I pass the HR almost always.
Just the final interviews hold me back.
Please what could be the problem?

I don't want to believe its because u didn't grow up in Lagos.

That was the final stage. I couldnt av reached there if i ddnt pass others.
That was the only question i was asked and there and then he told me i couldnt cope.

I have been pursuing this job for a while now, its sales executive for a loan company in Lagos. I passed through a recruiting firm where I passed their test and interview. I was also invited for interview with the HR of the organisation which I was successful also. We were told to go for medicals, which I did. I was fit and sound. Good eye sight and all.
The last stage was to see the COO. I was asked to introduce myself and I did. He went through my CV and realised that all my schooling was in Kaduna. He asked if I grew up in Kaduna which I told him yes. And immediately he blatantly told me I couldn't cope in Lagos not minding my level of intelligence or innovative strategy I could have applied to make me successful in that field. It took a lot of courage for someone who grew up in the north to want to start a life in Lagos but he ignored the courage and just stereotyped me. Anyway I later got a regret mail from them but I really do not think people who grew in the north should be sidelined.

None of them deserve it, even if I want to choose anyone, I will rather take and give those awards to the family’s members who those victims who lost their life at Otedola’s bridge, so they can sell it and use the money to bury the lost ones.

A friend of mine didnt need to apply a company that most of us had to write 3 different exams and several interviews for because his father was a politician and he had a slot which he just fixed his name without going through anything

2) People with Connection

I was in another interview last two weeks at a big multinational and they needed about 15 people. We were over 100 that were present and right before our eyes, they called out 10 special candidates who were to do their interviews specially. Our jaws dropped. 100 people are left with 5 slots. I was lucky to reach top 20 after about 80 were filtered out. But as you should expect, we dont know what happened to the remaining 5 slots and most of us were not given.

I was at an interview with a really gorgeous friend and after the interview, I did my best and she hardly prepared nor fit the job description but guess what, om our way home, she got a whatsapp message from the main HR personnel who conducted the interview. He took her number off her form and was chicking her. Tell me she will not get the job

Over the past few months, I have been opportuned to attend countless numbers of interviews, from big multinationals to small start up and if you have ears on ground, you would have seen what i have.
