PoliticsThat‘s Politics by Navi613(op): 2:57pm On Jun 17, 2010
A son asked his father

''Dad, what is politics ?''

Dad said

Look, I bring the money home, therefore I am the Capitalist
Your mother administrates the money, therefore she is the Government
Grandpa watches everything, therefore he is the Union
Our maid is the Working Class
We all want just one thing, your well-being. Therefore you are the People.
And your smaller brother who is still in his nappy, is the Future
Did you understand that my son?

The little one thinks, and tells his father he wanted to sleep it over for one night

During the night the boy wakes up, because his younger brother produces something with an unbearable smell from his nappy and is crying.
As he doesn‘t know what to do, he goes into the bedroom of his parents.
But there is only his mother in her bed, and she is so fast asleep that he does not succeed in waking her up.
So he goes into the bedroom of the maid where he finds his father having fun with her, and grandpa watching them secretly through the window !!!!
All of them are so engaged that they don‘t realize that the boy is standing in front of them.

So the boy decides to go to bed again without having been able to solve the problem.

Next morning the father asks his son if he is able to explain with a few words what politics is.
'' Yes '' answers the son.

''The Capitalist abuses the Working Class
The Union watches without doing anything,
While the Government sleeps
The People are completely ingnored
And the Future is in the shit.
That‘s politics.''

The sheykh doesn't seem to estimate/predict the apparent disequilibrium. When a brother gets locked up, serves time and finally is let go, there's, without a reasonable of a doubt, parents' who can't wait for him to settle down with a decent girl. naija believe so long as you give a man some responsibilities, they'll straighten out. However, who the f-ck would want their daughter to get hitched to an ex-convict? naija mothers will all say 'thanks god, he wil be nice guy or 'thanks god, wu de, ' until their daughter tells 'em she's marryin' that dude and all hell breaks loose.

Also, these guys didn't go to jail for nothin'. Chances are their parents weren't home enough to regulate them because they were on their grind, or they didn't have proper fathers around and their mothers gave up hope by the time they've reached 15. Why would anyone allow such a person to become the father/provider for their unborn children? Now-a-days, gettin' married to good, suitable brother/sister isn't enough to hold together a marriage, lol and you want to introduce and add some next dude who use to chop dymes into the mix? Furthermore, the system doesn't rehabilitate anyone, if anything, inmates leave prison feelin' more resentful/bitter. Job opportunities are limited, but it's understandable since recividism rates aren't so attractive.

lol @ loose chicks get with ex-cons. I think that was the crowd the sheykh was directin' his dialogue to, them and chicks who can't seem to find a spouse. Nonetheless, his advice is unrealistic and plain deranged
Nairaland GeneralDo You See Yourself As Talented? by Navi613(op): 2:12pm On Jun 16, 2010
What's your talent that you're known for?

What's the talent you have that very few people, if any, even know about?

A local sheykh in my ends is advocatin' that sisters should marry convicts. He argues that there's a shortage of "adequate" nigeria males in the area and that sisters should give reformed ex-cons a chance, since they are the majority in and leavin' prisons.

What's your opinion? Ladies, are you willin' to lower your standards in the pursuit of marriage? Gentlemen, does the idea of your sister/cousin/aunt settlin' down with convict sit easy with you?

People use the word addiction without knowing it's true meaning. Have you lost jobs because you are so addicted to sex? Have you sacrificed relationships because you are addicted to it? Would you do anything to get that high from having sex? If so, you are addicted and need to seek professional help. If not you're just Hot

It is good to see there are some shame left.

I would rather not have farting contests with my husband. It is great to be comfortable with each other but there gotta be limits.

RomanceConfrontations by Navi613(op): 11:57pm On Jun 11, 2010
I hate them with passion. I do a lot to prevent them and willing to avoid them even when i have to.

How do u approach confronting the people in ur life?

I personally dont unless it is absolutely necesarry. It is very rare i have done.

But what works for me is,might sound crazy tho, is that i plot the situation and do it in my mind and see how it would likely go as. For most cases, that gives me a clear image that it is not really worth saying something harsh or hurtful that i might regret later.

FamilyRe: Husbands Who Beat Their Wives by Navi613: 6:29am On Jun 01, 2010
@Sissy
I know is not easy i hate woman beater, until women start leaving these men there will never be an end to it. The men abuse a woman and she just puts up with it time and time again (for a whole host of reasons), so they continue.

In terms of the cause, so many things can be the reason a man becomes abusive in a relationship. Insecurity, controlling issues and the saddest one of all a history of abuse himself. That's the awful thing about abuse, it often turns into a viscious circle.
RomanceMarry A Man by Navi613(op): 5:19am On Jun 01, 2010
who loves you more than you love him When you hold a man’s hand and he makes your heart beat faster and he makes you feel giddy and excited, walk away from this man. He is not the man for you. If you hold a man’s hand and he makes you feel warm, safe and secure, hold onto him. This is the man you are going to marry. grin

RomanceRe: Are You The Real You Online by Navi613: 4:09am On Jun 01, 2010
Its pretty tru, I have met some very interesting people online, some now connected to me more than one way, others already connected without both of our knowledge, over time u realise how small the world is and how much smaller the internet makes your world, I dont have anytin against seein someone after gettin to know them on msn and speaking to them, as long as they tickle ma fancy, it makes no difference from seein them elsewer, besides If im honest, many gud gals are online, harder to come across them in reality than online wink

In fact gals I dont even see in town I know online, gals that U wudnt see come out in yrs, or u neva get to see, I think this is the new way of knowin eachotha and I already know many peeps who have got to know eachotha by this method and who are gettin married or who married now, it makes no difference from approaching a girl on the bus stop or in an , , in fact it makes the gals more confident to talk online for some reason hence makin life easier for both parties wink
