You spend your money to travel to represent your own country on the premise that you will be reimbursed by "you know who", what then happens to accommodation on getting there, if someone (heavens forbid) contracts the zika virus while there, I will make hold to say you are on your own, cos I don't see this as a government that would have factored in any 1 naira for the health or welfare of the athletes.

Nigeria Tells Athletes To Find Their Own Way To Brazil – Athletes that wish to represent Nigeria at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, would have to get there on their own.

According to track athlete Regina George, the country informed all athletes that they'd have to pay their way to the Olympics, promising to refund them later.

Nigeria Tells Athletes To Find Their Own Way To Brazil
George, who can not undertake the costs on her own because of financial constraints, opened a GoFundMe page for fans and citizens to donate to help her reach the Olympics.

She wrote on the page: “To all my family friends and fans thanks for being here for me through the good times and bad times. This year it's been hard financially for me but it wouldn't have been possible without your support. I just been told that we will have to pay our own way to the Olympics this year . Sadly this is such short notice for me to come up with the money. They also promised a refund but I'm still waiting for many refunds promised in the past. I been through a lot of obstacles this year and through it all I made my SECOND Olympic team. I don't want to stop now after I earned a spot to represent my country in the Olympics. Any donation will help my situation. This will not go unnoticed and I'm truly grateful for my supporters.”

Something about the NDA's demand for dialogues earns them some transparency cum credibility; the demand for the intl community to sit at the negotiation table.
If these guys were after their belly, like some insinuate, then they would have auickly jumped at the governments offer and also wouldnt have needed to cause this much destruction just to gain attention, cos they already had it since months ago.

This was exactly how Fashola ran lagos in his 8 years. Tax upon tax upon tax with all the attendant hardship. The Agric minister even wants to start taxing farmers. A very useless govt at it.

It is a Tinubu template and i foresaw it coming in 2014...

Whatever the rationale behind these ideas, it's obviously a bad time for implementation considering the challenges the masses are facing.
They better sit up before people "collectively" start tinkering with "novel" ideas

It's needless wasting 4 years of your lives as being witnessed on the national front.

The opening line is the writers opinion.

For it to be a valid statement, it would be put in " ".

The second sentence says the minister dropped the hint. It doesn't have to be in quote considering they are still working on it. If we feign ignorance don't be surprised to see them push it on the masses in no distant time. It's better a figment of one's imagination.

the actions of this government brings the case of one "Rehoboam" to mind.

"Yes, my father laid heavy burdens on you, but I'm going to make them even heavier! My father beat you with whips, but I will beat you with scorpions"

going at this rate we may soon get this reaction from Nigerians:

"
So when all Israel saw that the king hearkened not unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: to your tents, O Israel: now see to your own house, David. So Israel departed unto their tents."

Ayo Fayose will not pay Ekiti workers with his personal money. That he is the governor of Ekiti State does not mean he will take shit from anybody trying to rubbish his name. The post is about false allegation by EFCC and not about salary payment. Just face the fact and stop behaving like your parents in government.

Tell em bro, I tire for people reasoning walahi. So in their own reasoning, if Fayose is owing workers then his reputation can be slandered at will without him defending himself. If he keeps quiet they will say he is guilty, now he is taking pains to prove important points that any rationale individual should be interested in, and they are going out in loud retorts.

Fayose's accusation against whoever Is behind that letter, is a weighty one and we all should be routing to get to the bottom of that matter.

Merely by looking at the plainness of that purported letter, a rational individual will ask questions, a corpirate document on company letterhead with no footer listing the directors of the company nor a boilerplate, a very unprofessional font type (appears like comic sans serif), No date, no contact person, you just shake your head at the dumbness of whoever is behind it.

In my opinion i think the farmers are self centered. Remember these hersmen are Nigerians and they have the right to live and do their businesses any where in Nigeria. What's the big deal in allocating some portion of their farms for cattle grazing? If they were also rearing cattles, won't they graze them? The herdsmen are majorly the source of beef in the country and since everyone patronizes their meat, why can't we support the grazing bill so they can stop moving their cattles in the cities and instead have grazing fields? I know there are bad eggs amongst the herdsmen but we can't throw away the baby and bath water.

The farmers should be ready to pay for their protection since they are doing their private business. The fulanis are not violent people, let's stop the stigmatization sad

I only recently realized that the owner of this handle is just out to have fun by making light of national issues. If that's your coping mechanism then feel free, else your zombeism has gone out of control.

Politics / Farmers To Pay Fee For Protection – Ogbeh by NavierStokes(m): 2:39pm On Jul 21, 2016

The Federal Government is making a security arrangement whereby farmers in the country will pay fees for protection from kidnappers while in their farms.
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, dropped the hint yesterday in Abuja while speaking with State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting.

Ogbe, who was responding to a question on the perennial attacks on farmers by suspected Fulani herdsmen, said he and the Minister of Interior had met and were considering the security situation in the agriculture sector.
He said the government had to use a legitimate instrument of state to stop the abductions because a farmer has no right to buy an AK47 rifle to protect himself.
He also disclosed that a development programme was underway in the Federal Capital Territory to stop cows from being moved around. He said the federal government would not force anyone to provide land for grazing reserves, even as some states were willing to make lands available.
Ogbe also said the government was aware of crises in many families as a result of serious food shortage, adding that the Federal Executive Council had approved a new agriculture road map to address food shortage in the country.
He said The Green Alternative, meant for agricultural operations in the next three years, outlined government’s policies and objectives of seeing agriculture as the next biggest alternative in its drive to diversify the economy.
According to him, the document outlines virtually everything Nigeria needs to do to achieve self-sufficiency in food production and become a major exporter of agricultural products.
The minister said though the nation could not achieve self-sufficiency absolutely in the next one year, it was approaching there.
Also while inaugurating committees for the implementation of an MoU between the federal government and participating state governments and the China-Africa Machinery Corporation (CAMACO) on agricultural mechanisation system, Ogbe lamented the shortage of tractors in Nigeria when compared to farmers’ population and size of farms.
CAMACO is a venture funded by the China-African Development Fund (CADFund) as a strategic partnership built and developed between China and Africa, with the purpose of encouraging and supporting Chinese enterprises to invest in Africa.
Chief Ogbeh said there were fewer than 30,000 tractors in Nigeria but the country should at least as at today, have one million. The partnership with CAMACO is an attempt to catch up with shortfalls in tractors and increase mechanisation to make it easier for agriculture to take place

ladies and gentlemen, The mafia is indeed in power. In this period of recession "non cattle"rearers will pay protection fees while cattle readers will be supplied with free land, imported grass and their ever handy AK 47 rifles.

When 15 million Nigerians decided to bring in a clueless president with a trainee cabinet what then do we expect. I pity the 165million who have been dragged into this mess.

We have been in recession since the beginning of this year, at this point even the "jantamanta" figures and the propaganda can't lend support anymore.
Dogs are now eating roast corn and pear, people are starving in their dreams even madmen are facing stiff competition from sane people at the dumpsites, what is technical about this.
