Science/Technology / 10 Amazing Facts About Octopus You Probably Don't Know by nazeefsco(m): 2:46pm On Mar 06, 2018
Octopuses are one of the most amazing sea creatures. There are more than 200 species of octopuses and all of them often live in oceans around the world, especially near the coral reefs. Octopuses are invertebrates and; therefore, they are boneless. Hence, octopus loses its normal shape when it is only pulled out of the water.

Do you need to understand more about this wonderful animal? So, it is high time that we learn some of the most interesting facts about this intelligent animal.

Interesting Octopus facts

1.They can easily change their texture and color of the skin to camouflage with the environment and become invisible.
They always eject dark ink which will confuse the 2.predators and provide them an opportunity to escape.
3.Male octopus will always die some months after mating. Female will only survive until her eggs hatch. She will die of starvation since she won’t eat three months (time required for eggs to hatch).
4.Females lay about 150 000 eggs in a week. After hatching, the small octopuses will float for a short period with planktons and eventually swim back to the bottom area of the sea.
5.They have three hearts, and their blood is blue in color.
6.Some octopuses produce an extremely potent toxin which can stun the prey or even hurt a man. The riskiest octopus is blue-ringed octopus which can kill a number of people at once.
7.Octopuses often move with a simple elegance, but they lack rhythm, unlike many animals.
8.A baby octopus is almost the size of a flea at birth.
9.The Mimic Octopus can easily mimic about 15 marine species, including Stingrays, Sea Snakes, Jellyfishes, and Lionfishes.
10.Octopuses are eaten alive in Korea

Technology Market / Why Is Youtube Having Low Subscribers In Nigeria??? by nazeefsco(m): 2:51pm On Mar 03, 2018
YouTube, one of the biggest video hosting service,
YouTube allows users to upload, view, rate, share, add to favorites, report, comment on videos, and subscribe to other users.
YouTubers earns advertising revenue from Google AdSense, a program which targets ads according to site content and audience.

Nigeria being one of the world's largest internet users having a total of 83million users and is expected to reach 93 million by the end of 2019,and having a total of 19million facebook users. i wounder why is Nigerians not engaging in YouTube as much?
I think you can all agree with me that the total number of subscribers engaged in YouTube is not that impressive compared to other parts of the world. And it got me thinking is it due to the fact that there is a shortage of free Wi-Fi in public places or is it because of a high Coast of internet subscription? Or it because Nigerians don't feel like YouTube is something that should be a Big deal?
With the current situation facing the country, poverty and lack of employment the question is why are Nigerians not engaging in the YouTube business and to actually show their talents in contents creation and promotion of our culture and bringing about awareness to the rest of the world.

Politics / Re: List Of 13 States Owing Teachers' Salaries by nazeefsco(m): 1:06pm On Feb 03, 2018
owoicho13:
Thirteen states have not paid their teachers some for as long as 28 months, Nigeria Union Teachers (NUT) revealed this.
Osun tops the list with 28 months followed by Nasarawa, 26, Kogi 25, Benue 12 and Ekiti nine months.

NUT President, Comrade Alogba Olukoya, revealed this at the union’s 2018 annual gathering. He said the union is compiling reports from across the states before embarking on the strike. He added that both primary and secondary school teachers are affected.

“When we get report on salary, if it is not encouraging we will embark on strike. The next is the state of decays in our schools’ laboratories and libraries,” he said.
Olukoya appealed to the states to pay or begin to see the wrath of the Nigerian teachers. He, however, said Benue state will be excused from the strike because of the security challenges affecting the state at the moment.

He said the union has received assurance from the state government that the outstanding salaries will be paid soon.
The union however, berated the action of Kaduna state government for sacking teachers and directive to stop deduction of check off dues for trade unions.

The number of teachers affected in the 13 states were said to be about 300,000. The NUT could not give the amount owed teachers saying it has no record of that at the moment.

Check out the list of the states and the month they are owing teachers below....

1: Osun State; 28 Months
2: Nasaraw State; 26 Months
3: Kogi State; 25 Months
4: Benue State; 12 Months
5: Ekiti State; 9 Months
6: Bayelsa State; 7 Months
7: Taraba State; 6 Months
