Gooooooooooooal martiniez makes it 1-0 to Manutd. What a goal. |
This match is extremely boring. I'm almost dozing off. |
What do you expect? When the peanuts they earn here in Nigeria can't sustain them anymore due to the rising inflation. Does the government expect them to keep enslaving themselves here under harsh working conditions when they're fully aware that they're in high demand abroad. You obviously can't expect them to stay. |
Fake news. |

Adebaba1:Any niche that has to do with service always has the highest demand and highest job competition because they require less tech skills. Niches like virtual assistant, data entry, social media manager, sales rep, marketing...etc. |
Most doctrines we grew up to adapt to as Christians were made based on our culture and not the Bible. That's why a Nigerian pastor can come to his pulpit and tell his female members that putting on trousers would lead them to hell but can't preach such sermon in Europe. Look at the deeper life issue of television back then. I even know pastors during my university days who openly condemned Facebook and called it evil. Today they all have their Facebook pages. In Africa our Christianity is practically linked to our culture that's why it's always good to know God personally and allow him to direct you. God isn't interested in your hairstyle. Jesus told his disciples to go and preach the Gosple to the world baptizing them in the name of the father son and holy spirit. He didn't tell them to chase anyone out of the church because of hair style. And he made it clear during his time on earth that doing so makes you a pharasee. |
qtguru:Wao. Maybe the client changed his mind about the job. The good thing is that your connects were refunded. |

If this guy doesn't work on himself, his career would end sooner than expected. |
qtguru:1. It's almost impossible for top clients to reach out to you unless you're on expert level and have a trailer load of completed projects up your sleeves. 2. I used to think that if a client is suspended connects would be refunded. Cos I've once seen a job where when I tried to apply I was told that the client is suspended. So those who applied would their connects be refunded? I've never experienced job cancelation before tho. |
dreamxhaser:Ok. Let me answer the question you asked in your previous post. When a client posts a job, sometimes he goes offline and comes back in a couple of hours to see the numbers of proposals that have been submitted. When he comes back online, upwork algorithm would move available freelancers to his top list meaning if you're offline there's a very high possibility that you wouldn't be sent an invite. How did I know this? It was upwork who told me this through a message they sent to me advertising their availability badge. They told me that if I buy it (about 12 connects or so per week can't remember again) I would always be available to clients for jobs even when I'm offline. So I bought it. Another way is to subscribe to upwork monthly job notifications (that one is free) once you get a job notification that matches your skill, apply immediately when proposals sent are still less than 5. Then keep refreshing the page and monitoring the client. Sometimes the client would remain there and go through the profiles of freelancers. So keep refreshing so that the algorithm would wouldn't remove you from the list of available freelancers. If you're lucky they'll send you an invite. Finally like I said, you must have a very rich profile. Your profile determines whether or not clients would reach out to you. |
papyjaypaul:This is exactly what I wanted to type. Doesn't the teammate have a name? One hungry blogger would just dish out half baked news, attach click baits to it and upload for public consumption and they begin to wonder why they've been blogging for over 5 years and are still struggling. |
dreamxhaser:If you've completed 49 jobs and have about 40 positive reviews on your profile, you're supposed to be on expert level by now. In fact you should have clients who would just message you directly whenever they want a job done because they've worked with you in the past and you delivered. dreamxhaser:Based on your level, you wouldn't need any trick. Cos tricks are mainly for newbies who are still struggling to land their first job. Look at it this way, if you worked with a client on a project and he really enjoyed your service, if he has any projects, he'll just message you directly because he has worked with you before and add you to the team. And he'll keep doing that cos he already believes in you. So his reviews along with other reviews of other customers would qualify you for in invite from upwork to a higher badge. Most clients tend to retain good freelancers for future jobs. If you're still looking for a trick to get more jobs after completing 49 skilled jobs on upwork, omo something is wrong somewhere. Cos I don't think anyone on this thread has completed up to 49 jobs. |
dreamxhaser:No client would hire you without interviewing you. Interviews basically are set up for them to tell you what they expect you to do for them. But they can send you an invite directly without having to read your proposal. And this would be done if they're impressed with the quality of your profile. This is why it's always good to have clients you've worked for leave a positive review on your profile. Most clients prefer freelancers with experience, so once they come across your profile, they'll just send out an invite without them opening your proposal. I've experienced that several times. If your proposal is viewed, you'll get a direct notification from upwork once you log in and and email notification. That's why I would advice freelancers to spend quality time building their profile than writing proposals. |
beautycrush24:Geegpay doesn't take forever. At most 12 hours. If you move your money from upwork to geegpay by 6pm, before you wake up the following day, your money would be staring at you. Geegpay is still the best. |
qtguru:The problem I have with upwork on this their connect jobs is that most clients still leave their job ads open even after getting the hands they need. Thus making people waste their connects apply for them. I applied for a particular project management job is saw on the 20th of December. (normally I do save jobs I apply for so that I can follow it and know what's up) the client reached out 2 days later, fixed an interview twice and hired myself and someone else. When I checked the job is saw 2 hires yet the job was still open. Someone who doesn't know his way around upwork would just waste his connects applying for it. There should be a connects refund system for jobs that no longer exists. Cos spending $45 to buy 300 connects no be beans. |
wonyi:If you don't have any major tech skill, just fill your profile with IT support, virtual assistant and customer support roles, then subscribe for their monthly job notifications (it's free) The upwork algorithm would send you dozens virtual assistant job roles to apply for. If you're luck you might just get it. The pay is between $3-$10 per hour depending on the client and the role you'll be doing. Just accept it and keep growing your badge until you get to expert level. |
Codedboy95:You posted this in 2021. I hadn't joined upwork in 2021, so I don't know how things were then. I joined last year tho. And I can tell you in all confidence that clients don't read proposals of freelancers. Infact since I started submitting proposals on upwork, only 2 has been viewed and I got a notification for that. Anybody can use chatgtp to write a proposal so they don't take it serious. All the jobs I've gotten so far, my proposal wasn't viewed. The clients just mailed me directly and we discussed. I think the secret is to set up a very captivating profile. Cos clients check your profile more than they do your proposal. Upload projects and jobs you've done in the past on your profile. Upload certifications, awards, anything you know that can give you an upper hand. |
I'm really against the man for battering her. But some women should try and understand that they're married for God's sake. Someone has gone through the stress of putting you legally in his house. You're no longer living with your friends where you can go out with singlet and bumshort and no one would care, you now belong in a family, you now have kids who are looking up to you. You'd have to start becoming responsible. All these hussle most women do to expose themselves, I just don't get it. |
Just wait until afternoon when the sun comes up. You'll spend it thinking about your life cos that bare zinc would amplify the heat making you uncomfortable and miserable. |
But the plane later regained all lost tools and we were able to come back to Lagos with some people injured including some crew members. When we landed, we had to wait for medical personnel who took forever to come to the plane. We have no value for human life in this country andThis part really got me. So despite sending emergency signals to the control tower in Lagos, they still couldn't assemble an emergency team on ground to wait for the arrival of the aircraft. When you see how uncoordinated we are as a country, you'd be driven to tears. |
YoungBTCxchange:I've never heard of this culture in my entire life. |
GloriousGbola:POS were more convenient until Nigeria happened to them. Now they've become part of the problem. Look at what we went through during the Naira scarcity of 2023. Would you maintain this your convenience stand when you start paying 1k to withdraw 5k from them? The sooner we revert back to withdrawing from ATM's the better for us. |
The school in the first picture is ransom kuti memorial school. It used to be Fela's shrine until the military burnt it down and built that school in memory of Fela's late mom. Opposite the school is empire. One of the most famous ashewo joints in Lagos. Driving there at night is extremely dangerous. I've had my side mirror broke once on the railway that leads to jibowu by some dirty looking guys there. In the day they'll pose as car washers cleaning your car and demanding for tips. In the night they'll try to Robb you. They were trying to break my glass. I quickly drove off. Most home robberies in Surulere are done by guys from that empire and idioro. I've heard stories from people I know who were robbed there. Worst of all is that Police raids that area on a weekly basis yet it's still a hideout for criminals. |
Olichoke:Most states in Nigeria are like this. And they've been surviving before POS came. My village was like that also. We had a microfinance bank there. If you go to most rural communities, you'll find microfinance banks there. So stop behaving as if Nigeria didn't exist before POS or Nigeria would cease to exist if POS is banned. |
They should start by gradually placing a ban POS. Cos as long as they continue to exist freely, Naira buying cannot be totally eradicated. Back then if you want money just go to the nearest ATM point in your vicinity and withdraw. If it's your bank you wouldn't be charged a dime. Today most banks ATMs are for beautification. You'd hardly find cash there. Some people might argue that commercial banks don't penetrate deep into rural communities thus making it difficult for people in those communities to access cash. This is where microfinance banks come in. We had one like that in my village before first bank came. And microfinance ATMs don't rip people off like POS, they don't engage in naira buying cos their customers are mainly village traders who go there to deposit their proceedings for the day especially on market days. In most cases, the microfinance bank staffs would go directly to the market to meet with traders and collect their cash. So they had a sustained daily inflow of cash. Let's go back to the traditional ways of going to the nearest ATM for our money. If not we might soon be paying 1k to withdraw 5k from POS vendors. |
Sharpsharp00123:Don't talk like it. It's the evil nature of Nigerians that makes people like you abuse others for not going to the market. We're in the digital era. In civilized countries you can sit at the comfort of your home and order any product and you'll get delivered to your door step in perfect condition. I once read about a Nigerian guy in Huston Texas who paid for a used car in Frisco and it was driven down to Huston. He came and inspected it and it was in good shape. According to him, he's been driving it for over 3 months and it hasn't given him any issues. But if you do such in Nigeria you'll be called a fool why? Are you not bothered that in 2025 if you want to buy a car or electronics you'd have to go with someone who knows it so as not to get cheated? Doesn't it bother you? Are you not worried that the criminal mindset of the average Nigerian is preventing us from embracing the full advantages of e-commerce because of lack of trust. Do you think it's everyone that has strength to go to the market under the scorching sun to be dragging price with traders? Why do you think e-commerce websites like alibaba, Amazon, jumia and co exist? Stop thinking like a Nigerian. This mindset is very embarrassing. |
atoliman:He's not a simp. The woman is clearly the breadwinner in that home, that's why he can't confront her about her lifestyle. |
