Good morning All
Please I need your advice. I asked my agent to apply for my visa since Monday of this week. This is Wednesday and all she has done it fill in my details and saved it. I have tried calling her to find out what the delay is but she isn’t responding. Do you advice I proceed with the application or still wait for her?
Also on the part where it’s written “Is this family member currently stateless?” She selected Yes. Please is the right selection because I have asked her to explain why she chose yes and she isn’t saying anything.
Regarding your first question, i believe your agent is waiting for her manager or superior to check all the information entered are correct and ensure all the documents required have been provided. This is a standard procedure.

Is any of your family member stateless? If no, then your agent needs to change the response immediately.

Please house I need your advice. I applied for my visa on the 6th which was Thursday last week. Got appointment in abuja for medical on 10th monday which was yesterday. I tried booking for my biometric but the website was down from then all through the weekend. I managed booking yesterday when it started working ,I was given appointment on the 19th. From the visa slip,I am suppose to do the biometric within 14days of receiving the letter. Counting from that 6th that I got the letter, it will be 16days. I tried going to their office in abj to plead with them to,they said nothing can be done that I should wait for my appointment.

I have not been comfortable since then. Have anyone experienced such. Should it be a thing to worry about?
Nothing to worry about. Just attach a note to your Immi account stating why you couldn't get the biometric done within 14 days.

Relax and enjoy while you wait for the grant of your visa.

Hey everyone,

What are my chances of getting PR visa.

My details.

8 years of experience as a civil engineer.

Certified/coren licensed.

34 years or age.

Thanks.
Your first step is to get a positive skills assessment from EA. If successful, then there are different factors which might determine your score such as, your English score, if you are single or married, the years of experience approved by EA.

You can google immi points score calculator to determine your potential score.

Greetings everyone and happy Sunday.
I have read some post back but please I need assistance. I have 5 years as an IT support and I want to apply for ACS assessment. The company I worked for does not have good structure, hence salary payment is mostly by cash. Also, there is no pension paid on behalf of staffs.

Please how can I go about this?

I will also appreciate it if someone who was in the same condition as myself and have passed the assessments to support me through the application process.

God bless you
If you can get Tax statement to show your period of employment then you should be good. Otherwise, don't even attempt to assess with ACS if you can't provide any evidence of payment. ACS is now very strict.

Study health related courses such as Nursing etc. Alternatively, get a job in your field after graduation.

Hello everyone,

I am a chemical engineer graduate (both BSc and MSc) but with 2 years professional experience in data engineering. Below is my profile

Age: 31
Educational qualifications with dates awarded: BSc - 2016; MSc - 2020
Awarding University(ies): BSc - Uniport; MSc - Covenant university
Course of study: Chemical engineering
Job title(s): Data Engineer
Years of experience: 2
Marital status: single

Please what assessment route should I take and what are my chances of getting a positive assessment since my degree and occupation are different.
You can go with Engineers Australia since you have an engineering background. However, you won't be able to claim work experience since data engineering is under ICT.

Please share this if you have cos I still processed a TRA application last week and there was no option to select both applications
Yes I agree that thousands have used TRA MSA without any issues and they are still using it till date for all states and territories. I believe ACT are the only ones that recently updated their requirement and started requesting for MPA. It is clearly stated in their updated nomination guidelines in April 2023. Please see their guidelines below. Hope I won't get a ban for this.

and I know someone who just got nominated by NSW without MPA.
That is because for NSW, you can claim points for work experience after the date you completed your qualification except where your skills assessment displays a date you have been deemed skilled, then you can only claim points after this date. This is the case with ACS and Vetassess but not TRA.

TRA does not have option to select both MPA and MSA in one application and more so, thousands of people have used and been using MSA only to get visa.
It could mean they have updated their requirements. It's clearly stated.

I provided : i.court marriage certificate of him with my sister
ii.sworn affidavit of sponsorship
iii.sworn affidavit of relationship to sponsor
iv.letter of sponsorship with company letter head signed by him the ceo and 1 and only director.
v.sponsor’s ID ( international passport) x and director’s ID too.
vi.birth certificates (sponsor,my sister,mine)
…and other supporting documents
NB: My application is abit complicated I could understand , also please suggest future solutions too going forward..
First, Torrens is no longer a level 1 school which means you had to provide additional evidence to justify the grant of a visa.
Here is my advise;

1. Change your sponsor to a close relative such as your dad, mum or your blood siblings. Using an in-law is always risky and hard to prove that the money will be made available to you. Make sure your sponsor provides all the relevant financial documents to support your application. If your sponsor has assets or properties, please include them as well. Also try to boost your account with some money to show that you are in a good financial position. This will strengthen your financial ties. I can see you have included a land property which is good. I hope the property is in your name.

2. You have not shown any evidence that you currently have a job that you are returning to. If you currently have a job, please get a reference letter from your company stating that they are granting you a study leave to further your studies. Also get them to state that upon completion of your studies you will be coming back to take a senior managerial position which will 2x or 3x your current salary. You can get them to state the salary as well. Please make sure you include your payslip and company photo I.D as evidence that you work for the company. This will strengthen your home ties.

3. Get a letter from your community head stating that you actively volunteer and participate in a community project to help boost and support your community. Make sure it's related to the course you are going to study. This will strengthen your social ties.

4. Finally, make sure you update your SOP to include all the above details and make sure it is well structured and convincing.

Since you have been refused twice in a short space you need to provide a very strong evidence that will strengthen your application. If you can address all the above, then you would increase your chance of securing a visa. I wish you all the best!!

I got the attached email from ACT Canberra after I recieved their pre invite and applied for their Nomination.
I was assessed by TRA as an Electrical engineering technician. My assessment outcome letter does not carry Migration Points Advice but they refused me based on that.

I need assistance please
In my opinion, the assessor is right to refuse your nomination as it is stated clearly that "the work experience after your qualification must be assessed as relevant by the assessing body if they offer point advise service". I am sure you have included work experience after your qualification as it is a requirement for ACT nomination.
TRA offers both migration skills assessment and migration points advise. I am sure you have selected only migration skills assessment during your assessment with TRA. Unfortunately you will have to go back to TRA for a migration points advise.

Hi guys please I have an enquiry to make ; I was refused a student visa (Master’s) on 13 January 2023 on the bases that I didn’t provide enough evidence of my relationship with my sponsor also that I may not have access to the money in the account of my sponsor . NB : (brother-in-law is my sponsor) .
I addressed the problem and reapplied again on the 2nd March 2023 with the same sponsor . I received again another refusal on 23rd May 2023 on the basis that the economic situation in my home country outweighs that in Australia therefore they’re not convinced that I’ll return after my study , now Torrens University has canceled my CoE and asked me to apply for withdrawal and refund which I have done . So someone is advising that I apply for admission to a LV1 school (UNSW) and use my dad as my sponsor , get their COE and reapply maybe I could stand a chance of getting a visa , please guys I need your suggestions on this matter .
I have two questions for you. Then i might be able to advice and provide recommendation.

1. What did you provide as evidence of relationship?
2. What evidence did you provide as home ties?

She applied for a new pass about 2 months ago and still hasn’t heard anything concerning. Please has anyone experienced this before if yes how do I go about it?
Most airlines won't let you fly if your passport validity is less than 6 months. You need to wait until her new passport is ready, then update the new passport details in immi account. The visa will automatically be updated to the new passport.

I studied History and Diplomatic studies, am currently working as a manager in a lab

Well, your agent is right to recommend you a course that aligns more with your degree since you don't have any relevant work experience in social work. Your chances of securing a visa is higher if your proposed course of study aligns with your underpinning degree or work experience. You can still go for social work, however, you will need to write a convincing SOP as to why you are deviating to a course in which you don't have any underpinning degree or work experience. Moreover, social work is a high risk for visa rejection especially for those that don't have any relevant degree or previous work experience in the field. In saying that, there are people who have been successful in securing a visa even though they don't have relevant degree or work experience in social work. It's a 50/50.

The choice is yours. Your agent is only there to guide you.

If your plan is to stay back after studies and get a PR, then find a different course that will lead to PR. You will have to do your own research.

Greetings everyone

Please how do I prove home ties while applying from another country of study and don't have any major asset or business back in Nigeria?
Or while I be also required to in the first place?
Proving home ties is important to show that you have strong reasons to return to your home country after completing your studies, especially for GTE assessment. Since you don't have any asset or employment back home you can still show family ties and social ties etc. I will recommend applying to AL1 schools to limit the amount of evidence you will have to show.

Hello everyone. I have gone through over 500 pages on this thread and I got key update (thanks). HERE IS MY SITUATION
Presently I'm studying for my MSc on a full scholarship in Japan which will be completed in Feb 2024. I'm hoping to pursue a PhD in Australia from 2024 (hopefully fully funded) in management or tourism. Since I'm going with the intention of future PR, I'm also considering a 2nd MSc in a course with high job prospects in Australia (particularly in IT).
My expected POF is 12m 100% from me. Will it suffice?
Secondly the funds are from stipends, PT jobs and gift. Is it okay?
Thirdly, I can see that agency is required for most Australia schools, please can anyone kindly recommend a good one considering I'm outside Nigeria?
I have a diploma in foodtech, Bsc in tourism and hospitality and presently studying international policy cooperation in Japan. Can I apply for a management PhD?
And lastly, does it mean getting admission from an AL1 university means on don't have to provide PoF during visa process?
Apologies for all the questions
Proof of Funds: The required amount of proof of funds may vary depending on the university and the course you are applying for, so it's best to check with the specific universities you are interested in. However, 12 million naira may or may not be sufficient to cover your living expenses and tuition fees for the duration of your studies as this is dependent on the tuition fees and length of the program you are wishing to study. The general rule to determine how much you need as POF is to calculate the remaining tuition fees (after paying your deposit), Living expenses for 1 year (AUD $21,041), flight ticket (AUD $3,000).

Source of Funds: It is generally acceptable to use a combination of different sources of funds, such as stipends, part-time jobs, and gifts. However, you should be able to provide evidence of the source of each fund, such as bank statements, employment contracts, and gift letters.

Agent: There are many education agents available to assist you with your application to Australian universities. However, it's important to choose a reputable agent who is knowledgeable about the Australian education system and visa requirements. You can start by researching online or on this forum and reading reviews from previous clients. It's also a good idea to check with the universities you are interested in to see if they have any preferred agents they recommend.

PhD in Management: With your academic background in tourism and hospitality, and your current studies in international policy cooperation, you may be eligible to apply for a PhD in management. However, admission requirements vary by university, so it's important to check the specific requirements for each program you are interested in. There are a few people on this forum that secured a fully funded PhD scholarship, so you might check with them for guidance.

Proof of Funds for AL1 universities: Admission to an AL1 university in Australia does not automatically exempt you from providing proof of funds during the visa process. You still need to meet the financial requirements set by the Department of Home Affairs, which may vary depending on your circumstances and the university you are attending. Although a few people on this forum that have applied to AL1 universities have reported not providing POF during visa application process, the department still holds the right to request for POF at any time. It is advisable to have it ready in case it is requested.

I hope this information helps and wish you all the best in your academic pursuits!

@belong and all the gurus in the house please advise me..

I want to assess with Vetassess and I want to know what will be my outcome. Occupation Nominated is public relations professional.

I have a BA in Philosophy from Madonna University: 2010- 2014

MA in Social Sciences from Germany: 2018-2020

Work experience after my BA degree: Public relations Assistant, Oct 2014-March 2018 (3 years & 5 months)

Work experience after my master's degree: Public relations specialist, April 2021 till date (2 years)

Could you please tell me what could be the outcome of my assessment? I would appreciate any response.

Thank you
So let me break it down. Your nominated occupation requires a minimum AQF BSc degree. Your degree from Madonna university will be classified as an AQF associate degree or diploma. Your MSC from Germany will be classified as an AQF MSC degree. Since your MSC meets the minimum requirement, it will be used as meeting the AQF requirement of a minimum BSc degree.

Your nominated occupation requires a minimum BSc degree in a relevant field of study and a minimum of 1 year post qualification work experience. Since your MSC qualification in social science is not in a relevant field of study, you will need 3 years post qualification work experience (i.e work experience after your MSC) to get a positive skills assessment. In your case, you only have 2 years of relevant work experience after your MSC, hence, it will result in a negative assessment.

So Tunlex is right. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your response, but my question is limited to “ties to home country”

I gave you a list of possible ties to home country. What's the confusion?
Financial Ties: Shows her family is financially stable which is a strong indication that she will return.
Family Ties: Shows she has family in her home country. Also a strong indication that she will return.
Social Ties: I mentioned that you can show she has been actively involved in some community project. This is a strong social ties.

So none of the above response sounds like home ties to you? undecided lol

Thanks all for your anticipated information!!
Evidence of financial, family or social ties should do since she's very young. If she has done any training or certificate after high school similar to her proposed course then you can include that as well. You can also show that she has been actively involved in some community project that is similar to her proposed course of study.

Thank you,
So, what do you advise? Do you think I'll have better luck with RPL?
You don't need RPL. RPL is for those without an IT degree. Elect/Elect usually includes some IT courses and from my experience ACS usually deducts 4 years. Your degree will be classified as ICT major, however, the ICT content will not be closely relevant to the nominated occupation, hence, the reason why ACS will deduct 4 years.

Hope this helps. Cheers!

I am currently an ICT business analyst with over three years working experience. I have a masters degree in business and a CBAP IIBA certification in business analysis. I would like to hear from you regarding what best route to take.

Where to do an assessment, if required.

Which Visa category is more appropriate.

Thank you
Unfortunately you do not qualify as your Masters degree in business is not relevant to IT. If you had 6 years of experience then you would have been able to apply via the RPL route.

Do you have a BSc? If yes, in what field? And in which University?

Also, for the payment parts, how can I go about the superannuation route to show? What do I need to request from my PFA?

For an Elect/Elect degree, ACS will deduct 4 years. You will only be able to claim 3 years of experience.

Thanks for your response @bellong. I did Master of telecommunication engineering in Australia, and I have gotten a positive assessment with EA for Telecom Engineer through it. Also, I have already done an expression of interest in that skill in some states in Australia without claiming points for work experience because of some complexities involved from my employers in Nigeria. But I changed my career during COVID-19 and have been working as DevOps/Cloud Engineer for over a year. I want to rely on getting assessment from ACS and, if possible, get points for cloud/DevOps skills too. Firstly, I want to know the right ANZSCO role to apply for as a cloud/DevOps engineer is not specified explicitly on the list. Secondly, I want to know if I can do the Post Australian Study pathway as my degree is closely related to IT.

Thanks for always helping
Most DevOps engineers i have seen receive positive assessment have gone under 261313 or 261311. Please note that there is a new Anzco code for DevOps engineer (261316). Not sure when ACS will start accepting applicating for this code.
