Vbabs:Since ACS has not recognized your ND and used only your HND, then i believe there won't be enough ICT content in your elect/elect HND. The reason is, if you have a 2 years diploma, ACS requires 50% of your courses to have ICT content. If you have 1 year diploma, they require 100% of your courses to have ICT content. Hence, the reason for the insufficient ICT content. Regarding your work experience, you need more than just payslips. You also need to provide one of the following third part evidence such as, Tax Certificate, Banks statement, Superannuation or Insurance documents. You should have read the ACS guidelines properly before proceeding with your assessment. |
hemekhar:Sorry to hear about your negative outcome. I have a few question which might shed some light to your case. 1. Can you post a screenshot of your assessment result removing any personal details? 2. How many ICT units did you undertake as part of your degree? Can you list them including the unit code? Does it have at least 33% of ICT content? Or is the ICT content at least two thirds of your degree? I always advise people who have engineering degree and want to apply for ACS assessment to also submit a course profile. This is because there are some courses which might include ICT content but not listed as ICT in your transcript, hence, ACS would miss this. You can always get a course profile from your university. You can go for a review once you lay your hands on your course profile. I am almost certain that there is enough ICT content in an ELect/Elect degree from Covenant University. PS: I have just google elect/elect courses at Covenant university and I can see a lot of your courses are related to ICT. However, because of their naming convention ACS might not know they are ICT courses. Hence, the reason why it is very important to provide a course profile along with your application. Please get your course profile and go for a review. |
Khabeeratt:You can book your flight from anywhere to come to Australia as long as the country you are transiting through doesn't require you to get a transit visa. I am suspecting the agent mentioned in your husband's visa application that he will be taking a trip to Malaysia prior to entering Australia. Hence, the reason why he might have asked your husband to go via Malaysia in case he is being questioned. Whatever route your husband decides to take is his choice. |
Sholex19:Which assessing authority? |
Ngumex:It could be a challenging time, but stay positive and come back stronger. I would advise you list all the documents you submitted and provide detailed reasons for your refusal. This will enable the community to dissect your case and provide feedback. It will also provide an opportunity for newbies to learn and avoid the same mistake. |
Ernest93:Regarding your first question, i believe your agent is waiting for her manager or superior to check all the information entered are correct and ensure all the documents required have been provided. This is a standard procedure. Is any of your family member stateless? If no, then your agent needs to change the response immediately. |
utrills:Nothing to worry about. Just attach a note to your Immi account stating why you couldn't get the biometric done within 14 days. Relax and enjoy while you wait for the grant of your visa. |
leon12:Your first step is to get a positive skills assessment from EA. If successful, then there are different factors which might determine your score such as, your English score, if you are single or married, the years of experience approved by EA. You can google immi points score calculator to determine your potential score. |
busymick:If you can get Tax statement to show your period of employment then you should be good. Otherwise, don't even attempt to assess with ACS if you can't provide any evidence of payment. ACS is now very strict. |
snowlordng:Study health related courses such as Nursing etc. Alternatively, get a job in your field after graduation. |
snowlordng:For PR and affordable living, Adelaide. For job opportunities and bubbling city, Melbourne. |
Deyinma:You can go with Engineers Australia since you have an engineering background. However, you won't be able to claim work experience since data engineering is under ICT. |
tunlex01:Yes I agree that thousands have used TRA MSA without any issues and they are still using it till date for all states and territories. I believe ACT are the only ones that recently updated their requirement and started requesting for MPA. It is clearly stated in their updated nomination guidelines in April 2023. Please see their guidelines below. Hope I won't get a ban for this. https://www.act.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0009/2210868/ACT-Nomination-Guidelines-Overseas-Resident-April-2023.pdf |
Decentdave:That is because for NSW, you can claim points for work experience after the date you completed your qualification except where your skills assessment displays a date you have been deemed skilled, then you can only claim points after this date. This is the case with ACS and Vetassess but not TRA. |
tunlex01:It could mean they have updated their requirements. It's clearly stated. |
Infoagents:First, Torrens is no longer a level 1 school which means you had to provide additional evidence to justify the grant of a visa. Here is my advise; 1. Change your sponsor to a close relative such as your dad, mum or your blood siblings. Using an in-law is always risky and hard to prove that the money will be made available to you. Make sure your sponsor provides all the relevant financial documents to support your application. If your sponsor has assets or properties, please include them as well. Also try to boost your account with some money to show that you are in a good financial position. This will strengthen your financial ties. I can see you have included a land property which is good. I hope the property is in your name. 2. You have not shown any evidence that you currently have a job that you are returning to. If you currently have a job, please get a reference letter from your company stating that they are granting you a study leave to further your studies. Also get them to state that upon completion of your studies you will be coming back to take a senior managerial position which will 2x or 3x your current salary. You can get them to state the salary as well. Please make sure you include your payslip and company photo I.D as evidence that you work for the company. This will strengthen your home ties. 3. Get a letter from your community head stating that you actively volunteer and participate in a community project to help boost and support your community. Make sure it's related to the course you are going to study. This will strengthen your social ties. 4. Finally, make sure you update your SOP to include all the above details and make sure it is well structured and convincing. Since you have been refused twice in a short space you need to provide a very strong evidence that will strengthen your application. If you can address all the above, then you would increase your chance of securing a visa. I wish you all the best!! |
judisco2019:In my opinion, the assessor is right to refuse your nomination as it is stated clearly that "the work experience after your qualification must be assessed as relevant by the assessing body if they offer point advise service". I am sure you have included work experience after your qualification as it is a requirement for ACT nomination. TRA offers both migration skills assessment and migration points advise. I am sure you have selected only migration skills assessment during your assessment with TRA. Unfortunately you will have to go back to TRA for a migration points advise. |
shyboy187:His situation is beyond a strong SOP. Let him list the evidence he provided and it will become clear why he was refused. |
Infoagents:I have two questions for you. Then i might be able to advice and provide recommendation. 1. What did you provide as evidence of relationship? 2. What evidence did you provide as home ties? |
Jubal21:Log out and then clear your browser cache or cookies. Then try again. |
Keji10:Most airlines won't let you fly if your passport validity is less than 6 months. You need to wait until her new passport is ready, then update the new passport details in immi account. The visa will automatically be updated to the new passport. |
gidi20:Well, your agent is right to recommend you a course that aligns more with your degree since you don't have any relevant work experience in social work. Your chances of securing a visa is higher if your proposed course of study aligns with your underpinning degree or work experience. You can still go for social work, however, you will need to write a convincing SOP as to why you are deviating to a course in which you don't have any underpinning degree or work experience. Moreover, social work is a high risk for visa rejection especially for those that don't have any relevant degree or previous work experience in the field. In saying that, there are people who have been successful in securing a visa even though they don't have relevant degree or work experience in social work. It's a 50/50. The choice is yours. Your agent is only there to guide you. |
hemekhar:There's been a recent trend of delay in the ACS assessment. The timeline is now 3-4 months. No cause for alarm. |
Pappibearr:A 2 minutes search on google will give you the list of AL1 schools ![]() |
NittaO:OET is accepted for courses related to health profession. |
Saintzykie:If your plan is to stay back after studies and get a PR, then find a different course that will lead to PR. You will have to do your own research. |
Judee99:Proving home ties is important to show that you have strong reasons to return to your home country after completing your studies, especially for GTE assessment. Since you don't have any asset or employment back home you can still show family ties and social ties etc. I will recommend applying to AL1 schools to limit the amount of evidence you will have to show. |
NittaO:PTE Academic Online is not currently accepted for visa applications. |
Judee99:Proof of Funds: The required amount of proof of funds may vary depending on the university and the course you are applying for, so it's best to check with the specific universities you are interested in. However, 12 million naira may or may not be sufficient to cover your living expenses and tuition fees for the duration of your studies as this is dependent on the tuition fees and length of the program you are wishing to study. The general rule to determine how much you need as POF is to calculate the remaining tuition fees (after paying your deposit), Living expenses for 1 year (AUD $21,041), flight ticket (AUD $3,000). Source of Funds: It is generally acceptable to use a combination of different sources of funds, such as stipends, part-time jobs, and gifts. However, you should be able to provide evidence of the source of each fund, such as bank statements, employment contracts, and gift letters. Agent: There are many education agents available to assist you with your application to Australian universities. However, it's important to choose a reputable agent who is knowledgeable about the Australian education system and visa requirements. You can start by researching online or on this forum and reading reviews from previous clients. It's also a good idea to check with the universities you are interested in to see if they have any preferred agents they recommend. PhD in Management: With your academic background in tourism and hospitality, and your current studies in international policy cooperation, you may be eligible to apply for a PhD in management. However, admission requirements vary by university, so it's important to check the specific requirements for each program you are interested in. There are a few people on this forum that secured a fully funded PhD scholarship, so you might check with them for guidance. Proof of Funds for AL1 universities: Admission to an AL1 university in Australia does not automatically exempt you from providing proof of funds during the visa process. You still need to meet the financial requirements set by the Department of Home Affairs, which may vary depending on your circumstances and the university you are attending. Although a few people on this forum that have applied to AL1 universities have reported not providing POF during visa application process, the department still holds the right to request for POF at any time. It is advisable to have it ready in case it is requested. I hope this information helps and wish you all the best in your academic pursuits! |
Chudiogams:So let me break it down. Your nominated occupation requires a minimum AQF BSc degree. Your degree from Madonna university will be classified as an AQF associate degree or diploma. Your MSC from Germany will be classified as an AQF MSC degree. Since your MSC meets the minimum requirement, it will be used as meeting the AQF requirement of a minimum BSc degree. Your nominated occupation requires a minimum BSc degree in a relevant field of study and a minimum of 1 year post qualification work experience. Since your MSC qualification in social science is not in a relevant field of study, you will need 3 years post qualification work experience (i.e work experience after your MSC) to get a positive skills assessment. In your case, you only have 2 years of relevant work experience after your MSC, hence, it will result in a negative assessment. So Tunlex is right. Hope this helps. |
Jimdatzme:I gave you a list of possible ties to home country. What's the confusion? Financial Ties: Shows her family is financially stable which is a strong indication that she will return. Family Ties: Shows she has family in her home country. Also a strong indication that she will return. Social Ties: I mentioned that you can show she has been actively involved in some community project. This is a strong social ties. So none of the above response sounds like home ties to you? lol |
Jimdatzme:Evidence of financial, family or social ties should do since she's very young. If she has done any training or certificate after high school similar to her proposed course then you can include that as well. You can also show that she has been actively involved in some community project that is similar to her proposed course of study. |

lol
