Maranatha5:The Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) statement is different from the Statement of Purpose (SOP) for Australian student visa applications. The GTE statement is a requirement for all students who wish to study in Australia, and it is used to assess whether you are a genuine temporary entrant. This means that you genuinely intend to study in Australia temporarily and will return to your home country after completing your studies. The GTE statement requires you to provide information about your personal circumstances, your reasons for studying in Australia, your previous study and work experience, and your future plans. On the other hand, the Statement of Purpose (SOP) is a document that outlines your academic and professional goals, as well as your reasons for choosing a particular course and institution in Australia. It may also include information about your background, achievements, and skills. Both the GTE statement and the SOP are important for Australian student visa applications. The GTE statement is important because it is used to assess your genuine intention to study in Australia temporarily, which is a key requirement for obtaining a student visa. The SOP is important because it provides information about your academic and professional goals, which can help the visa officer to assess whether you are a good fit for the chosen course and institution. Note that the GTE statement and SOP can be combined as one statement when applying for visa. You must structure it in a way that makes sense to the reader. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Ctemi:No. it's not mandatory to use an agent for admission and visa processing. You can apply for admission directly to the institution you are interested in attending and can also apply for visa by yourself. In saying that, most institutions prefer students use an agent as it eases the process of documents verification and GTE when securing admission. If you are ready to put in the work to read through this thread and do some research then you should be able to handle your own application. If on the other hand you would prefer someone else do all the work for you, then you are welcome to use an agent. 2 Likes |

Dikachi12:Would have responded earlier but the auto-spam bot keeps banning me temporarily for no reason. Hope the admin can fix this, else, one more unnecessary ban and i am out of here. Just here to help people in need with my extensive experience. To answer your question, yes Curtin University is an AL1 School. |

Adenrele94:Yes she can sponsor you. She might need to show evidence of income such as, pension, rental property or from investment. If she runs a company or a business then she can provide the registration documents. It is important to show that she can afford to sponsor your education. I would highly recommend you go for an AL1 school so as to avoid providing the above document during visa application. Please note that the case officer can choose to request for them at anytime during the visa process. |

NB1912:To correct the highlighted statement, University of Tasmania is no longer an AL1 School. You will need to provide the documents stated above during visa application. You can verify using the link below; https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/web-evidentiary-tool 1 Like 1 Share |

Anyigold1:Q 1) Yes your maternal uncle (Mother's Brother) will be able to sponsor you. All you need to show is evidence of relationship between your mum and your uncle. This can include; your mothers birth and marriage certificate, your uncle's birth certificate and current passport or drivers license. Q 2) Your uncle needs to provide bank statement along with evidence of income. If he is an employee of a company, then the evidence of income can include his most recent payslip, tax statement (if available), employee I.D card and a letter from his employer stating his current role. If he owns a business, then he needs to provide his business documents etc. In addition, he will also need to provide an affidavits of sponsorship. Just so you know, University of Tasmania is an AL1 school so you might not need to provide bank statement as part of your visa application. However, it is good practice to have it handy as the case officer might request for it at anytime during the visa process. |

The PM has indicated again today that personal responsibility should be on individuals to take protective measures against Covid rather than a government mandate. He also clarified that shutting down is a thing of the past and would no longer be considered an option. He added that Covid is not going away anytime soon and we have to learn to live with it. There's been a lot of push from the media but the Federal Government is surely not backing down this time around. Please not that each state and territory have different restrictions. For those coming to NSW or Victoria, it is evident that those borders will remain open for the foreseeable future. Please don't let the FUD spreaders push you into making commitments that are beyond your financial capability. If you have the money, feel free to purchase your ticket, otherwise, you can get a cheaper ticket at your own convenient time. https://www.sbs.com.au/news/scott-morrison-urges-personal-responsibility-instead-of-mask-mandates-and-lockdown/1097f6bc-831f-47a8-8970-1b87634d5bca 2 Likes |

bligs:Young Man/Woman/Transgender or whatever you choose to identify as. Where in my statement have i insulted anyone? Oh i guess you are one of those that read with emotions lol. My point is very clear and they are backed up with facts. You highlighted that the PM doesn't have the power regarding border closure and they act based on medical advise. Did you listen to yourself at all? Why are you contradicting yourself? Point of correction, the chief medical officer can only advise but the PM decides if the international borders stay open or closed. Yes, each state and territory premiers decide on what happens within their state or territory but it's just a matter of time before they give in and join NSW and Victoria. Look, i don't have the time to get into an argument with people who are narrow minded and cannot see the bigger picture. I bet you will take this one as an insult too huhn? Anyway, i will leave you with some additional facts where the PM emphasized that the responsibility now lies with individuals and people need to learn to live with Covid. In addition, NSW and Victoria have scrapped 72 hours quarantine for fully vaccinated international arrivals. Now tell me that's a sign of a country that's about to shut it's borders This will be my last post on this matter. Like i stated, learn to think outside the box Oh did Canada just announce they have lifted restrictions on the red list countries? Wake up and stop sleeping on bike https://www.sbs.com.au/news/you-can-choose-to-stay-home-pm-sends-message-to-those-worried-about-covid-19/71faf35f-b641-43d3-a92e-b59095658245 https://www.sbs.com.au/news/nsw-victoria-scrap-72-hour-isolation-requirement-for-international-arrivals/aacb1ebc-ffdf-4c83-adb9-c5cb9ee64789 3 Likes |

Collins605:The PM and the NSW premier have been indicating that they don't intend to go into lockdown anymore. Just yesterday, NSW lifted further restrictions including allowing Unvaxxed people same freedom as the Vaxxed and all this is happening amid the Omicron concerns. Will a country intending to lockdown or shut it's borders lift further restrictions? This is common sense!! Even the health minister has indicated that the case numbers will go up but the main focus will be on the ICU. Just today, Peter Dutton (Defense Minister) was interviewed and he clarified that they can't keep shutting the borders and going into lockdowns after almost 2 years and they will have to learn to live with Covid. So forget all the nonsense about shutting the borders in 2 weeks. Some people just speak trash without presenting facts. 2 Likes

AyaE:I am sure you are one of those feeding on the mainstream media Bullsh**. You better wake up to reality and facts. The Omicron is already spreading everywhere, so why did Australia decide to open to temporary residents after moving the date to 15th of December? Like I stated earlier, the Omicron doesn’t seem to be a major threat at the moment as no hospitalized case has been recorded. In shot, the upcoming election is one of the reasons why they decided to rush the opening of the border. The citizens are already frustrated, and the universities and businesses are crumbling. They are politicians and they will do anything to win the upcoming election. Learn to think outside the box dear. 5 Likes |

Naijabad:Stop spreading FUD. Singapore's travel ban on Nigeria has been in place since 5th of December. Moreover, UK has lifted the travel ban on Nigeria, so i don't see Australia banning Nigeria. So far, the vaccine has proven to be effective against the Omicron variant as no vaccinated person has ended up in the ICU. Australia cannot afford to go into another lockdown or close it's borders. Businesses are suffering and it's hitting the economy very hard. The best they can do is to increase the mandatory home quarantine from 3 to 10 days etc. Temporary closure is no longer an option. Everyone relax, the gate of paradise is open 4 Likes |

seunfoster:There are two categories of sponsors; 1. Applicant, Spouse or Parent: They can show evidence of income that they earn at least $60k AUD/year or evidence such as a bank statement that shows one year of tuition fees and living expenses. 2. Sibling, Uncle/Aunt, Cousins or In-law : Evidence such as a bank statement to cover one year of tuition fees and living expenses. In most cases, the bank statement needs to be for at least 3 months and shows evidence of income. Please note that for AL1 schools, you might not need to show any evidence of financial capacity when applying for visa, however, it is good practice to have it handy as the case officer can request for it at anytime during the visa process. I am sure a couple of people have mentioned in previous post on this thread where the case officer requested for an updated bank statement. I hope that makes sense? 1 Like 1 Share |

Nnatuu:I understand life can be busy sometimes and that's why there are agents for people like you. Unfortunately, i can't advise you which agent to go for. You can check google for reputable agents in Nigeria. Alternatively, you can check for pages in this thread where some have mentioned the agents they used and if they were professional or not. |

ocpaschal:Yes it is very possible and most schools accept. Just google Assessment level 1 schools in Australia and look through their requirements to make your choice. The issue with going for a MSC degree that is different from your BSc is your ability to convince the CO (case officer) on why you are making the switch. You will need to have a very strong SOP if you were to be successful. Having a relevant work experience in the proposed field will be advantageous. Alternatively, if you want an easy way, then you could apply for a program similar to what you did in your BSC and then switch to IT after your first semester in Australia. Yes, it might cost you more money, but like i said, it's an easy way out. The choice is yours. 1 Like |

okikiosibodu:From what i can see, you haven't read this thread. I will advise you to read the thread from page one and you will gain valuable information. In saying that, you should read the Vetassess information sheet for "Technical Sales Representative NEC" to be really sure that your current role fits in. NEC's occupation are tricky, so you need to take extra precaution. https://www.vetassess.com.au/Portals/0/Downloads/qualification_assessment/SRGO%20Infosheet_Technical%20Sales%20Representatives%20nec.pdf You can also find the list of Vetassess occupation here; https://www.vetassess.com.au/portals/0/downloads/qualification_assessment/vetassess-general-occupation-list.pdf?vid=100 Your occupation qualifies for 190 & 491 visa. As things stand, your best bet is South Australia, however, you will need 8 years of experience and Proficient Plus English (IELTS 7.5 overall Equivalent) to qualify for offshore 491 visa. 1 Like 1 Share |

sisqology:There could be myriad reasons why your agent advised you to exclude them from your application. One of the most common reasons would be ties to your home country. If you are applying with your family, you need to provide a strong evidence of home ties, or else, chances of a visa refusal is high. If you apply alone then your family could stand as home ties. I Hope i am making sense? I don't know what discussions you have had or documents you have provided to your agent, but that is something they might have taken into consideration prior to making a decision. If you believe you have strong home ties, then you could state them here and forum members might be able to advise further. PS: Please respect my privacy and don’t message me 1 Like |
