My comment are not only based on the topic alone but also a response to some of the comments on the topic which I read before commenting.

I'm not apologising for what I said, just clarifying them for you to know since you took an exception to give a fvck about me grin I wonder if that's a compliment huh
What has Fayose, Saharareporters and wailers got to do with any of the comments so far? All d comments have been from ppl who simply don't believe d story jus like anyone else. Or simply because ppl find d story quite ludicrous and clearly a blatant lie u termed dem wailers? Every one deserves a ryt to their opinion on issues and if u can't respect dat den dat would make u d biggest hypocrite in d history of hypocrisy dats with an exception to the APC, dey still set d pace.

Anyways Madam, we have heard u, but we reserve d right to believe or not. Jus as ur husband and his ppl said there's nothing like the office of the first Lady, U can as well tell us ur numerous trips in d name of the Wife of the President is also from ur pocket or d allowance ur husband gives u. I'm even not surprised, afterall ur husband met an empty treasury and has since been using his pocket money and loan jus as he didn't meet any money in his account to pay for his form and had to use his pocket money and loan.

Now wailers will all of a sudden rate Sahara reporters as credible but if the same news media release how Wike spoke to his boy Fayose on phone about how he rigged elections and caused mayhem they'll immediately become an APC news media outlet again.

The hypocrisy of wailers, PDP, IPOB can never end. They are neither here or there; bunch of people without principle, double minded people who are unstable in all their ways.
Why body dey pain u? What has ur comment got to do with report? Since wen does dat sauce look like d ones used by saharareporters? I usually don't giv fvcks but ur case is simply pathetic...

Politics › Re: HOME » NEWS » Electricity Generation Hits 4,009MW, Improves Gradually by Nbote(m): 11:41am On Jan 05, 2017
9jakohai:
1.Government is no longer fully in charge of generation...that is the GENCOS.

2.You have heard about DISCOS rejecting power? That is because they cannot pay for the power....due to most people and govt agencies not paying their bills. Same reason why they cannot buy gas for the gas fired plants.

3.Tarrifs are also going up because gas companies prefer payment in dollars , not in naira.

4.Transmission is the thing that is fully in the hands of government.

5.We need $100bn additional funding for power supply to improve. Money we do not have.
Who are d so-called GENCOS? All na d same wash. If u claim govt isn't in charge of generation why are dey building more power stations? On behalf of d GENCO like u call dem or what? How can d govt be in charge of transmission wen there are no private power generation yet? Forget all d paper grammar d govt use to divert attention from their inefficacy and precarious state of d power sector. Are u trying to say d govt is building all those generation plants for /on behalf of the GENCOs or what? Wateva reasons dey give for tariffs going up are jus excuses because u and I know at d end of d day d bills are estimated based on their distribution so dey simply divide and share to customers excluding those using prepaid metres. How do dey arrive at d estimates considering dey don't read metres and majority of Nigerians still don't have prepaid metres.

And where do you expect the power companies to get the money to improve and provide light?

(Maybe you people should have stood up and protested when power was being privatized? But even govt cannot afford to fund power adequately....which is why we have DISCOS nowadays....)

A lot of Nigerians, and for that matter government agencies do not pay for power. As a result, we do not have the money to improve capacity....which is why people like you who do pay are not seeing any improvement.

Only 30 percent of people living in the area covered by my local DISCO (about 5-6 states) pay their bills regularly. Meanwhile the DISCOS have to pay for things like gas....and most Nigerians gas companies prefer to be paid in dollars rather than Naira. See the problem.
D real issue has neva been about paying d bills but generating d power. Can u really blame ppl for not wanting to pay estimated bills generated by these DISCOs in d comfort of their offices. Bills are given even wen ur light has been disconnected apart from d fact dat d light is barely there in d first place. Tariffs have been reviewed a couple of times dis year already and ppl have no choice but to pay except u have an alternative which is going to b either cheaper or atleast moderate. Whether privatized or not, Govt is still in charge of generation so what are we talking about here. If d govt is serious what happened to improving generation by upgrading wateva is already on ground for maximum output and possibly bringing new ones into the fold. D DISCOs have no business with generation but selling what is generated via distribution and d only to curtail so called non payment of bills is d metering billing, whether prepaid or otherwise but no dey won't because with d volume of power distributed dey are much more comfortable with estimating bills and meeting targets.

It isn't good enough....and we still have to replace that transmission system....and generate more.

A big country like Nigeria should be generating 60000-70000MW by now. And we should have at least more investment in solar, nuclear , geothermal and waste powered facilities for our electricity supply.

At the same time, Nigerians need to pay their electricity bills. We cannot be refusing to pay our bills, bypassing meter...and be putting pressure on the few millions of Nigerians who actually pay their bills...and do not get enough service at all. Of course, they would be angry.

And to butress my last point....I leave you with this analysis by a fellow Nairalander. Note the bolded....
Oga leave dis ur analysis first and face d real issues and facts on ground. By ur analysis d cost of electricity in those countries are higher and in otherwords we ought to pay higher to enjoy improved electricity. Now let me ask u, how many of those countries do customers have to contribute to buy their own transformers, and buy other accessories like electric poles and cables and still have d power companies brand it their property? U do realise ur calculation for d country is actually what we pay for power NOT provided? D customers have always been shortchanged over here and yet u want to blame dem? If U know how much an average Nigerian spends on alternative power (Gen) plus d estimated billing he pays for light he doesn't see den u'll realise all d power companies need to do is improve and provide light and people will pay because dey spend more even wen d light isn't there.

Truth is Nigerians have realised their folly but have either become too hungry to complain or still finding it hard to swallow d bitter pill of their mistake. Our refineries have yet to b fixed, hunger and inflation is at an all-time high in d land. Some of the morons supporting d govt are d ones who cry and complain d most in the secrecy of their rooms attributing blames to everyone else but themselves and d govt because of the huge ethno-religious sentiments propagated and used by the political class to divide and rule. Anyways we are stuck with dem and all we can do is d little we can do on our own and hope for d best.

Since U know d ppl who are responsible for it, what's holding d govt back from doing anything about it? D kaduna crisis has always been a religious one whether anyone wants to kip living in a fool's paradise or not. Anyone can call it wateva dey like but it's Christians dat are being slaughtered and maimed. D only reason why it hasn't escalated to a full blown war is because d ppl (xtians) aren't fighting back yet. It's even more saddening dat d so-called leaders who have been put in charge to profer solutions are busy making misguided and irresponsible statements while d massacre goes on.
