FamilyRe: Lessons To Teach Your Daughter That She Will Never Forget... By Alison Bryant by nbright: 1:03pm On Sep 25, 2013
Wu Zetian: Believing in gender equality doesn't make one a feminist.
Most Nigerian "feminist" won't agree with you on that... A woman like Justice Mary Odili... She so much believed in gender equality but she ain't a feminist.. There are many.. But in all.. I would like the Nigerian feminist to come out of the closets they are hiding.. There is no law barring feminism in Nigeria.. They should be bold to say it to their boyfriends/fiances/ husbands or admirers...

jidegirl: I am not a feminist and will and continue to denounce it from my kids mindset too.
@quote.... Amen to that.. I so much believed in equality and not feminism... Wish all girls reason like you do.

I am not as enlightened as you... Maybe next time you should just write everything rather than expecting me to grab what isn't written.. Thank you

alutacontinua: I don't want a big wedding. I know a handful of nairaland ladies who have said they don't want either.
They will say, do they really mean it?... Didn't you read the story of that coza pastor?, on sundays he will be on the pulpit preaching whatever it is he preaches while in reality he isn't practicing what he preaches..
FamilyRe: For Abused Wives, Girlfriends & Men!!! by nbright: 4:37pm On Sep 24, 2013
bukatyne: Weddings?

The problem is that people generalize a lot.

You have not found who you want to marry and you are worrying yourself about how the wedding(s) will be undecided undecided undecided

What if you find a lady who has the same mindset with you regarding weddings and that is the only good thing about her? shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked

Biko, worry your head about the more important things angry

Ujujoan: shocked shocked shocked

Different men 'bouncing in and out' of their mother's bed? What becomes of young widows nah . . . . they are doomed to a life of loneliness abi?

Do you even read through what you post? undecided

And yes, if a man is being abused, he needs to leave for the sake of his sanity . . . Of course I doubt that a woman will be able to 'beat' a 9-month pregnant man! undecided
There was a news I read on vanguard where a woman poured hot rice on a nursing mother... The nursing mother just gave birth.. Women are capable of doing anything.. But in all, I don't and won't advocate beating a woman.. There's this particular girl that was supporting a girl that said she didn't like a man abusing a woman I was so suprised seeing her here saying if a woman abuse a man verbally what stops the man from abusing her back?.. Women!.. Most don't know what they want. @bukatyne... So you mean that a girl will only have that mindset and nothing more?... Ok o
FamilyRe: For Abused Wives, Girlfriends & Men!!! by nbright: 3:21pm On Sep 24, 2013
coogar: everything in nigeria is about the society. 80% of what you do is because of what the society dictates. your elaborate wedding is for the society otherwise why can't nigerian women go to a court with 4-5 witnesses and get over the ish. all you hear is make up artiste, aso-ebi and live cows .....many newlyweds spent their salary of 5 years in one day to please the society....
@bolded... So true... I discussed this with a neighbour on sunday... She said it is a must, that her marriage must b BIG... When I told her mine will be private with both our families and a handful of guests, she said "Make God keep us alive make I see the mumu girl wey go gree for that kind wedding"... Honestly I'm scared of how my wedding(s) will be... Why do girls lay so much emphasis on the wedding instead of the marriage?

NONE... As of last year and this year... I don't know if the school authority will use the money they will get out of this strike action well... But knowing Nigeria and the politics and corruptions in our educational sector, I don't see any hope... But there are good female hostels in Abuja

FamilyRe: Lessons To Teach Your Daughter That She Will Never Forget... By Alison Bryant by nbright: 4:22pm On Sep 23, 2013
bukatyne: It is not enough to teach them, our lives must portray what we are teaching them.

The relationship between parents also goes a very long way to impart these kids. Imagine a family where the husband beats his wife or cheats on her still teaching his females about self esteem. undecided

Some parents might never teach their kids on 'self esteem' but their lifestyle is enough to fill the girls up for the rest of their lives.
What about mothers?, shouldn't they exhibit the qualities of a good/virtuos mother too?.
FamilyRe: Lessons To Teach Your Daughter That She Will Never Forget... By Alison Bryant by nbright: 4:20pm On Sep 23, 2013
@Jide and all the girls here... This question has been bothering me ever since... I've seen many quotes by girls on nairaland that a guy shows his love for a girl by buying her things... Now my question is this... How does a girl show a boy that she loves him?.. Is it by eating what he bought for her?...

deols: There were Muslims in the mall and there are always Muslims killed when these strikes happen.

Also Muslim businesses, etc
Didn't you read that they escorted all muslims out of the mall before they started killing?
IslamRe: Reactions To Westgate Murders By Muslim Scholars/imams by nbright: 3:12pm On Sep 23, 2013
deols: I could not understand the need to keep using the word, Muslim in their tweets as if they were doing us a favour. They were hoping for our understanding or solidarity or what?

They are most probably high on delusions.

I am just tired of having to say it again and again that they are not fighting for Muslims and what they are doing has no basis in Islam.

Even Muslims are affected.

I pray for world peace. I pray for the victims. I pray for the Muslims who would face the repercussion of this because of all the 'coded' terrorists living among us.

God help us.
How are muslims affected?

Rosysea2088: Abuja hostel? Delta hostel? How many girls hostels are they? Do u choose the hostel u want? I dont wanna stay offcampus, my parents wont let me cos of insecurity
Abuja and Delta you are hearing are not hostels but school campus... In these campus there are many hostels... Choba hostels is strictly for male while Delta is for female but Abuja has both for male and female... You can't choose the hostel you want, the school will allocate a space to you when you pay for booking.. But some people do let the booking to expire if they don't like the hostel...

Lucasbalo: I can't believe this kind of scam is still going on in the name of marriage. I can understand getting a little stuff as a token but not bankrupting someone in the name of marriage. Wow, I guess in some parts of Nigeria , marriage is for only well to do guys. No wonder we hear about cases of husbands killing their wives because of adultery. I guess , they must have felt they own the wives after investing so much. This kind of stuff should be eliminated .
@bolded... That's true.. Imagine paying all those things demanded by the family then you take the said wife home and she's not up to your expectations... If she'd insisted on the no sex untill after wedding, after the wedding you enter her and discover that she's too wide and it can also accomodate your two stones together with your sausage... Hmmm
