If you are planning to come to canada Iplease plan financially it’s really expensive now to survive. A Tiny room has gone to as high as 900 dollars a month. Add grocery , transport among others. A single person will need upto 1500 dollars to survive in one month. If you fail to plan financially before coming here you are going to suffer .

I have watched and followed you closely on this space for long. What you do here is to discourage people from travelling to Canada by saying the negative side of Canada to people. All these while you've been writing rubbish and chunning our rhetorics and narratives to put fear on intending 'japarians' yet you are still in Canada. What is wrong with you? Stop discouraging People. Don't advice us. When we get to the river we will cross it. Nigeria is already a failed entity. Rest Mr Man.

You are among Nigerians who hate the truth, you only believe in your pastor. When you get here like most others do , you will not come back to this forum again.many Nigerian students who got here will never come back to this forum to share their experiences. One is still busy looking for common menial jobs for the past 3 months. They won’t have time to come here anymore! After immigration minister’s announcement yesterday, people on pgwp flooded his page. You should follow important pages to read more on what’s going on and not what you heard . Goodluck

You should contact @zubizareta on this forum, there are many testimonies from people he has assisted.
Anyway, there is a claim that after doing a 2 years diploma, and with 3 years PGWP one still find it out to get PR.
Can you comment on that since you are in Canada.
Your comment will be much appreciated.
Thanks!

I live here, unfortunately people outside hate the truth. It is difficult now to transit from study to PR. This is not being discussed on this forum . 80 percent of the students aren’t even aware of how difficult it is. Once they get in, they felt relaxed after being carried away with the beauty of the country and the number of years ahead especially when the are doing 2 years program which offers extra 3 years of PGWP.

The heart attack starts when the PGWP is about to expire. Most students never get jobs in their field of study. Most students will have to go back to the EE pool after studies and wait for miracles. Writing ielts, combining work experience and calculating points. The hope of students has also been put to rest since the Canadian government halts the CEC canada experience class draw .

This is because the population of these students is so huge. Only 25 percent ended up getting PR after study. Some are studying in the wrong province. It is also competitive and difficult to get PNP . I advice students to plan very well and don’t get overwhelmed with what they see . This place is expensive and it won’t worth it to come in vain and go in vain

I have warned many here and will continue to warn to avoid regrets, do not waste your funds coming to canada with visit visa with the intention of getting a job and settling. Do not waste your funds .it’s difficult to get jobs even for PR holders and students It is difficult. Visitors have no chance. I live here and I am advising you. Even before you make that move coming with student visa , think twice. Except if your plans is to come and study and go back home . Only 30% of students get PR after studies . It is even tougher now. No CEC draws, EE draws stood at 500 Crs , 2years course + 2 years working experience and ielts 9 bands will be around 480 Crs , many PGWP holders have just few months left expiry with no chance of getting ITA as we speak. Canadian government make things difficult for students to transit to PR . They rather waste their funds on asylum seekers who cooked up lies to get easy stay without breaking a sweat, whereas those who have spent over 60k cad studying are left to waiting for a miracle ! The best way to get here is through PR ( express entry) it is not easy but it is the best way for those who are extremely brilliant young and have good credentials with work experience.

you all need to stop discouraging people. if you want to advice on realities over there, you dont have to make it seem like its terrible. or are you working for the Nigerian government trying to discourage Nigerians from relocating?

When people are honest and saying the truth many of you sees it as discouragement. The advice given to you is to gear up and plan very well before making a move to avoid regrets.

I am sure if a lot of students who have been on this thread and now in canada back to this thread to share their experiences now , many people here will still crucify them.

I recently met with lots of PGWP students that their PGWP about to expire in Toronto, they are still in express entry pool hoping for a miracle when the points kept going up like rocket launcher. Some of the students thought the PR process is automatic after completion of studies and having work experience. Many get to find out late. it’s another hurdle .

I hope many people learn from this before making that decision to come here. A lot of people are suffering here now as we speak. If you have the funds that can keep you upto 2 to 3 years after your tuition payment then , come and see things for yourself first, if you don’t have the funds and rely on mere hope, you are coming here to suffer . It’s getting tougher here and things are not the way it use to be . There are no jobs , rents has skyrocketed due to huge TRV issued. Also it’s now more difficult to acquire PR status because of the tough requirements. Many people are frustrated and going back to their countries after studying . If it really worth for you to come spend over 60,000 cad to study for 2 years . Then good. Do your due diligence before making that move. If you are still young from age 24 to 30 and have graduated from a university in Nigeria and have atleast a year work experience do not come here to study. Do the express entry instead.

Italy
Spain
Australia

America is difficult transitioning from study to permanent except you are ready to marry or get highly skilled jobs

Canada is very expensive and difficult to survive and not advisable coming as a student except you have huge funds so PR is best bet also difficult transitioning for study to permanent now due to huge inflow and certain requirements but most students aren’t aware until their PGWP is about to expire

Uk though fair to Nigerians due to colonialism but also expensive, you can get upto 5 years work permit in Uk after studying if you have the funds to study in Uk

So what im saying in essence is , forget all these statistics, its not extremely difficult as your write up makes it seem as far as you do it the right way. For smooth immigration PR process, i will advice anyone to take CANADA OVER USA anytime !!!!!

It’s worst now here in Canada now brother almost same as US and most are becoming illegal and some results in continuous to spending on expensive studies for permit extension

Canada released 2022 Study permit application refusal and approval statistics for Africans .

It’s a shame that South Africans and most other countries do not migrate like Nigerians. If the hardship in nigeria hasn’t become unbearable, it doesn’t really worth it coming to canada for many. It is tough out here cost of living is so high and difficult to get High paid jobs. Many are homeless and sleeping in shelter homes and going to food bank everyday.only If nigeria can become great again. Our past leaders should be ashamed of themselves .

Na singles i pity for there.

I was watching a video on youtube about African ladies in Canada, A lot of them that came in as singles are still single. Infact if you enter Canada as a single lady, chances are, you wont get married there.

Even a Edo lawyer I know have to come to marry her uni boyfriend for Benin, and bring him to Canada. I come dey ask myself, the price am worth am?

That’s the truth. They are single and miserable and filled with ego even with their 18 cad per hour job they are financing cars worth 30,000 cad just to live fake life thinking that a mugu will sight them one day. This is a capitalist country and men are wise here . If a regular nigeria guy ask them out, they will embarrass him. They are only looking for already established men. You will see them on social media complaining bitterly that their is no husband in canada . They are praying unto God for problems they created. They are over 40years of age still hopeful and stay hopeful.

I get you. Canada is one hell of a depressive place. Something is just not right with that country.

I actually planned to migrate there before. I come visit am make I get a feel of the place before deciding, but just a week for Toronto, I changed my flight ticket and left earlier.

I see why they need people there, to come share with the depression. SO expensive, isolated, and so boring. Mehn me I cant to. But the nature is beautiful sha. Canada can easily pass as the most beautiful nature on earth. Too fine.

Thank God you came visiting and experienced it, if We advice some people they will ask why we haven’t come home yet. They won’t listen. This is why those who truly live here don’t advice people anymore . Only liars who haven’t step their foot abroad will go on saying they have several people doing well so well

I wish I was happier than I thought here in canada , you won’t understand until you come in here.

Hmmmm I know quite alright that it’s not easy anywhere, nothing good comes easy we all know that
One of the reason why we are here is that we knew that it’s not easy thats we are here seeking for advice
If you’re already in please and please if you have any info to give to ya guys that wanna migrate too please give us
We will appreciate it all
Most info I got online are not the same as the ones I got here, first hand info is always needed in everything we do
My guys VV is already out and mine will be out soon by Gods grace
Please I really need info as I don’t have anyone in there to give me that
The agent that helped me get this visa promised to link me up with someone in there already but he have been backing off since recent, he doesn’t reply my messages anymore
So am like someone that’s stranded but God will help me out
Please I need help guys 🙏🏻

When you come online to tell people the real truth, most won’t believe and they see it as discouragement which is why those who really live in canada don’t advice people that much, read above someone already telling me why I haven’t come home. I am blessed already before coming here but the reality is naira is different from dollars. I have business making 8million plus yearly in Nigeria also real estate. The truth is since I came here, it’s difficult to save same 8million plus per year due to huge bills in canada and that’s the truth. Also I have to work very hard over 40 hours a week . I don’t work for no one in nigeria , here is different. What if I was desperate like others and sold all my houses and shut down my business just to move here and then face reality.

If you are doing okay back home and making millions and think you can double more on the long run , then canada is not for you. If you know you have nothing much going for you in nigeria and you are just starting life then you can come and see things first, if you can cope then you stay in canada and start afresh. Agent will leave you stranded, don’t rely on them. Most of them operate using word of mouth. Do not sell anything to come here, I repeat, do not sell any valuable things to come here.

If you can setup a business here in canada it’s good because most people who make it real good here don’t work for anyone , they do their own business or run services.

For those coming here with a visit visa, it’s going to be real tough for you and that’s the truth unless you come in with huge money to either convert to LMIa or study visa which is very expensive. LMIa can cost you between 18k cad to 27k cad . So you need to plan very well before coming here and make sure you have accommodation plans. Winter is coming and it will be very cold, you won’t be able to go outside frequently during winter.

My bills a month is over 1800 dollars despite how I manage my funds. Rent alone take up huge bills here, when you deduct bills from monthly pay after tax, how much is left. That’s why it’s difficult to save money here. Before you make that move you must have a plan and most importantly funds.

Mr account opener,So opening an account is a big achievement to you??
We talking how to live as resident with vv and not opening account...visit visa na maximum 6 month .how many don enter canada this year and got lmia or change visitor to work visa...you l know you get admission as backup and have family in canada with plan to change to student visa..but what about peopple that cannot afford student fee? Many people like you will only share half truth online.pls give geniue advice to peoole that have no family in canada and you think it that easy to get lmia or face the village without any prior connection.abeg let face reality .so people coming will not be disapointed or stranged.

Don’t mind him, he is opening account, maybe he saw beautiful houses when he touched down and good roads, reality is coming. some come online to talk just after spending few days or months here in canada, when the reality hit them, they will stay away from internet. Hope you get a job soon before you run out of money and the real bills hit you. I am here for some years ,even with documents, still not finding it funny also those with PR in my neighborhood. Everyone case isn’t the same but if 8 out of 10 aren’t finding things funny then who are we to deceive others

Best way to come here is PR if you are rich then go for study but I advice anyone to come here through PR , canada is tough and it’s not as easy as people out there think

I have warned many people here my brothers and sisters I live in canada. Canada is very tough and not like what people outside thought . Do not come in here with visitor visa with intention of converting to work. It is not easy. Even for legal students to get PR is a long process after their PGWP they still need to write ielts and get high points to be eligible.

For a visitor be ready to cough out between 20k to 28k cad cad above for LMIa jobs or spend the same on study by applying to school. It’s not easy here , to get a job as a PR holder is very tough , many students can’t find a job so tell me what you are coming here to do with your visitor visa. Everything is expensive here especially in Toronto where I am . You should get your finance right and priorities before coming here or else you will be disappointed.

We are here in canada and we are advising anyone who is hoping to come here with visitors visa and planning to get LMIa, budget from 20k cad and its subject to approval. If you can focus on express entry from nigeria it will be better for you. Stop using google to read about canada . Canada is not easy as you think it is. Even those who came in with study visa are struggling, even those with PGWP about to expire can’t apply for PR until they hit certain points . Everything here is different.
