Does anyone have a single photo of Abiola's burial? Was he buried like Ojukwu with the creme-de-la-creme of the society in attendance? I hear his kids are dying of hunger and doing 419 to survive. |
Abiola was, in addition to being a drug-pushing corrupt man (ITT), an illiterate who could not read and write. |
Who is Abiola? A common drug pusher, a prisoner, a coup plotter and a wannabe failed president? I dey laff oh |
Men!! Se as this man from Ogun state take drop the Governor's name. This is innovative sycophancy. Na wah for my owambe brothers oh!!!!

ekt_bear:Unlike their Igbo counterparts, they cannot do more than their finances permit: they are not financially capable of international trading. We are talking about average Yoruba traders, not Tinubu, Otedola, Adenuga and the other rich Yorubas. |
executinal:What does this mean? Would you rather I throw bombs than discuss facts? |
hercules07:Cocoa to be used for what? What would Igbos use cocoa for? There is no value-adding cocoa processing company in Igboland or anywhere in Nigeria, except for multinationals like Cadbury, Nestle and Lever Brothers (choco milk makers) whom am not sure where they get their cocoa from but whom in any case have their factories in Lagos/Agbara. In any case, cocoa is grown in abundance in Abia and Imo. Indeed, there are 14 cocoa growing states in Nigeria. As for kolanut am also not sure. There are oji Igbo (Igbo kola) trees everywhere in Igboland. I will let other Igbos here weigh in on this one. |
hercules07:As far as I know, all the things Igbos go to Lagos to buy are bought from Igbo business men in Lagos. Can you think of anything that Igbos travel to the SW to buy from a Yoruba person? I would like to know. BTW, Igbo traders outside Igboland also travel to Igboland to buy goods |
chosen04:That question should go to the reporter Iyabo Lawal of The Guardian Newspaper. Most likely the survivors were in a fairly stable condition. I had been involved in an accident along the East-West road just before Yenagoa. I had significant surface injury but we still drove to Ibadan before seeing the doctor. BTW, when I lived in Ibadan, I also noticed many Yoruba traders going to the East to buy stuff but it did not mean anything to me until I came to Nairaland ![]() |
First things first: may their souls rest in peace. They died for no fault of theirs as I reckon that three factors namely bad roads, DUI by one, or DUI by the other driver, might have caused the accident. That said, is it not interesting to note that Yorubas travel all the way from the SW to buy goods in Aba for resell in the SW? Most likely these same goods were imported by Igbo traders via Lagos port and Yorubas have to travel down to the East to buy and take back to their land. Lesson of the day: Igbos who invest elsewhere because of a phantom market have no clue what they are doing. Even if your ware is in a cave and you are the only one having it, buyers will come looking for you right in your cave. |
40 die in Aba highway crash From Iyabo Lawal, Ibadan A GALE of deep wailing tore the air at Bola Ige and Alesinloye Markets in Ibadan, Oyo State yesterday following reported deaths of 40 people, including 22 traders from the two markets, in an auto crash along Aba-Onitsha highway. advertisement One of the survivors, Moses Olufayo, who is currently recuperating in a private hospital said the traders had gone to the textile market at Aba, Abia State and were returning when the accident occured. While 22 of the traders died on the spot, survivors were rushed to St. Dominic Catholic Hospital, Ogungbade, Ibadan where medics are battling to save their lives . Olufayo, who sustained cervical fracture, said the bus conveying the traders had a head-on collision with an Aba-bound bus. Another survivor identified as Ade said the auto accident could have been averted if the two drivers had exercised some degree of patience. Meanwhile, the wife of the senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Ayoade Adeseun Tola has donated N.5 million to the hospital for a surgical operation for Olufayo, who needs the operation to avoid a complete paralysis. Medical Director of the Catholic hospital, Dr. Taiwo Obisesan, assured that the hospital would do all within its power to ensure that the victim does not become paralysed. http://odili.net/news/source/2012/feb/23/7.html |
Gbawe:It is always better to ignore you hypocritical cyber urchin. I wonder what you say when the table turns in your favor. Two can play the game, you know. Timber ko, Pako ni |
sheyguy:You be proper Ode. 3 out of 5 is 60%. If 60%, but not 80%, makes you happy, there you have it. |
ekt_bear:You and I went over this before, dude. They smoke it and get sick from it. Click on those links I provided above. This is for Ekiti but there are many for Ondo https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-700674.32.html Now I know why there are many deadly thugs in those parts |
And her sister, Ekiti http://www.google.com.ng/cse?cx=partner-pub-6465801557104924%3A7cbyx7q7q4k&ie=UTF-8&q=Ekiti+and+drugs&sa=Search&siteurl=www.nairaland.com%2Fnigeria%2Ftopic-878367.32.html%23msg10261172&ref=www.nairaland.com%2Fnigeria%3Faction%3Dpost%3Btopic%3D878367.32%3Bnum_replies%3D32#gsc.tab=0&gsc.q=Ekiti%20and%20drugs&gsc.page=1 |
More on Ondo (from NL) http://www.google.com.ng/cse?cx=partner-pub-6465801557104924%3A7cbyx7q7q4k&ie=UTF-8&q=Ondo+and+drug&sa=Search&siteurl=www.nairaland.com%2Fnigeria%2Ftopic-878367.32.html&ref=www.nairaland.com%2Fnigeria%2Ftopic-878367.0.html#gsc.tab=0&gsc.q=Ondo%20and%20drug&gsc.page=1 |
ekt_bear:The cancelled bit is a lie from hell. Cocoa growers are also irreplaceable. |
Good old thread |
sheyguy:Well, I never passed thru any Ondo lecturer. Moreover Ondo lecturers are mere paper tigers, only studying Yoruba history and music. Can you point to any notable Ondo professor? Like GEJ alluded to last year, the brain box of Nigeria is in Igboland not Odualand. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-532957.0.html Medical marijuana indeed. Did you NOT read here on NL that 80% of all sick youths in Ondo/Ekiti are sick due to IH consumption? |
ekt_bear:How can anyone brag about cocoa that any fool can grow? If you stop growing cocoa won't others (and they are already doing so) do it? Talking about import duties, why are others not importing and paying the duties? Answer: they are either incapable to do so, or they prefer to illegally smuggle goods via Seme and other land boarders such as Idi iroko, thereby depriving the feds of import duty revenues. There you have it. |
oduasolja:Duh!! 95% of armed robbers in Nigeria are your folks. As for kidnappers, at least we kidnap ourselves but you guys kidnap yourselves and others living in your enclave. Many Igbos in SW have been kidnapped and killed by your folks. You wan make I post am here? Oloshi. |
Yes, Ondo is the h/q of Indian hemp (IH) cultivation in Nigeria. The only other state that competes in this area is small Ekiti http://www.google.com/search?q=Ondo+and+Indian+Hemp&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a Perhaps we should pass a law asking that the sales from IH be transferred to the feds to improve the standing of those states in national revenue generation In response to: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-877453.0.html |
Real life Yorubas have nothing but respect for Ojukwu. These internet Yoruba urchins are pretenders. IN LIFE THEY WORSHIP THE IKEMBA. |
oduasolja:You are an urchin, just like most of your folks. |
jason123:You will have to provide evidence that the bitumen in Nigeria is used to build roads in Nigeria? What are the bitumen processing companies in Nigeria? Or you think dem go just pour crude bitumen for road? Its just like saying because we have oil, we do not import fuel. You are too simplistic. |
The import duty paid by Onitsha business men alone trumps all the resources in SW. We know that aside oil, revenue from the Customs is the next big thing in Nigeria Even ordinary salt from Ebonyi state beats all you get from Ondo ![]() |
kettykin:All the oil in Ondo belong to Delta, hence it is only in the Ijaw areas of Ondo that oil is found. Its all about rogue boundary adjustment; there is no oil in Yorubaland. Ijaw ondo is not Yorubaland. |
