''His paternal grandfather Wachuku Ogbaregbe, a distinguished Statesman and Merchant Prince was involved in the oil trade of that time with King Jaja of Opobo. Thanks OP. You bet me to this. I wanted to create a thread about this unsong Nigerian. This man is arguably one of the greatest Nigerians ever I am surprised he has not be accorded the recognition he derserved |
Onlytruth: I was beginning to think that our people have lost their goddamn minds for not spotting this clear sign you noticed.Precisely, and I have indicated that angle in my earlier post. Good that you also spotted that. This is fulani at work using idiotic locals |
~Bluetooth:Talking about community (Yoruba on Yoruba) clashes since Ife-Modekeke. More coming, excluding the uncountable motor park touts fighting and killing themselves everyday all over Yorubaland and human rituals where husbands kill wives and parents kill kids for money rituals 1. https://www.nairaland.com/362539/police-boss-burnt-death-ogun 2. Baale recounts how he was beaten off his throne, village by thugs •Community begs Ogun govt, IGP to intervene http://www.compassnewspaper.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=994:baale-recounts-how-he-was-beaten-off-his-throne-village-by-thugs-community-begs-ogun-govt-igp-to-intervene&catid=32:crime&Itemid=47 |
Sam_Ikenna: Very well then, lets settle their borders for them. Thats where the problem lies and we cant keep shying away from it.AK people are unappeasable. I understand my own maternal community fought them to a stand still in the 80s. To them, land is everything. |
~Bluetooth:Just shut up, you little i.d.i.ot. Those motor park touts that kill themselves everyday nko? What about awon gbomogbomo and human rituals that strut the SW? What about the dreaded armed robbers that have taken over the entire SW? Shey Ife and Modakeke don do their own finish? |
Sam_Ikenna: Nwanne, It doesnt matter if _chuks' intention was political, the point is we killed our own and that is despicable. Fulani did not kill anybody here, brothers killed brothers and I'm outraged. Crossriver and AK people are the best neighbors anyone can have - very peaceful, industrious, and most importantly, very dedicated to justice. How come this happened? what went wrong? The bolded part made me laff. Means you do not really know AK people. Those guys fight over land with virtually all their neighbours. They have fought with Ngwas (Abia), Umuahians (Abia), Ogonis (Rivers) and Akpabuyos (Cross River). What is just and peaceful about fighting your neighbors all over the damn place? |
ndu_chucks: Nchara, nwanne, please do not try to turn this tragic event into a tribal internet war. The article states clearly that "Mr. Asuquo, however, said that the attack was not done by the cattle raisers; according to him, the indigenes of Ikpanya were the people who attacked the indigenes from Ntan Obu. "Bull. Okay. I agree they kill themselves over land just like Umuleri and Aguleri, Ife and Modakeke, Tiv and Jukun, Fulani and Hausa etc have killed themselves over land in the past But why are Boko Haram (northern muslims) killing others and not themselves? |
ndu_chucks: I cannot speak for Boko Haram, some say they are fighting for Justice, Bill clinton said that BH activities are fueled by inequality caused by extreme poverty in the North. I say that any activity, whether by government operatives or terrorists which results to the killing of innocent Nigerians should be condemned by all Nigerians, period.Extreme poverty caused by innocent, ordinary non-northerners living in the North, right? Nigerian cattle rearers are Fulani, no? Did you not read the post you GLEEFULLY posted? |
Fourty persons have died in a communal clash between Ntan Obu-Ukpe in Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State and Ikpanya Community in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.Nduchuks Any kind of killing is condemnable by all means; so I condemn this killing news you have ''GRACIOUSLY'' broken. But let me ask you: this people are fighting over land and killing themselves, thus neither of them is innocent. Why are your northern Boko Haram people killing innocent non-northerners who are not taking their land? Care to explain to us? Note that this killing has to do with Fulani, cattle rearers. Your brothers are trying hard to divide the south. |
Lesson 101: Do not always cry more than the bereaved. |
Beaf: Yes, I agree there was voter apathy in the SW, I guess I'm not comfortable with lumping that on all Yoruba's (including those who voted for various candidates). The bolded is what is important. Unfortunately, as with most things having to do with numbers, the Yoruba super minority who voted for GEJ bears the brunt for the acts of the majority who did not and keep insulting him. Hope my point is clear now. |
Beaf: You have a point, but the fact remains that Yoruba's too voted for GEJ. This is especially apparent when you consider votes outside Lagos (where SE/SS ain't that many). Even in Osun where GEJ lost to Ribadu, the vote was very close. When you proportion the votes for GEJ in the SW (ex Lagos where non Yorubas gave him victory, and Ondo) against the overall number of qualified voters in that zone, you'd agree that they largely stayed away from voting. Overall, GEJ got but a pittance from them except in Ondo. Beaf, would you vote for GEJ and then turn round to call those who voted for him idi0tic and stvpid? |
Beaf: Dude, many Yoruba's voted for GEJ and many root for him. A few names come to mind, like jmaine (whom you are talking to), Werekpeleri, Lateef4me etc etcCan you define for me what many means here? Jmaine himself confirmed there was a general voter apathy in the SW, no? Of course a few voted for him in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo and Ekiti. He lost to Ribadu in Osun and won in Ondo (Mimiko). Otherwise, the preponderance of Yoruba - if they mostly voted for him - in this forum will not be calling GEJ names unwarrantedly. |
jmaine: Facts show they voted for him too, even though the general voter apathy toward the polls was evident .What are the facts? The general voter apathy that you fortunately alluded to implies that people stayed away from the voting poll, yes or no? If an insignificant number of Yoruba (which I supposed did) voted for GEJ why did the majority stay away? Have you read any Yoruba here on NL who claim to have voted for GEJ? In contrast, which Yoruba here have you not read who has not had a bad word for GEJ, calling him all sorts of names and calling those who voted him in i.d.i.o.t.i.c? Do the i.d.i.o.t.i.c voters include Yorubas as well? If a large swathe of Yoruba voted for GEJ (which I do not believe), what sort of people will vote a man in and then turn round to ascribe him to others? Is not that the zenith of double-speak and two-facedness? Consider that Tinubu proclaimed in public that GEJ won the election fair and square https://www.nairaland.com/717204/jonathan-won-april-election-tinubu. Although now he is singing a different song. When I say Yoruba in this argument, I exclude Ondo where, I am sure, Mimiko led the LP to give GEJ a resounding victory. But then one state out of six is quite insignificant. |
jmaine: Only the Igbos you say . . .bros pack well jare . . .re-examine the presidential and the more locallized Governor election in the SW . . .and you will see an almost similar pattern in the percentage of willing voters . . . . We have solved that equation before . .so quit the bringing up the "Igbo" only gistDid they vote for GEJ? If so, why do they keep heaping the fact of his presidency on the SS and SE? |
ekt_bear: lolYou guys have always voted for your kind only.. The same reason you abandoned Ribadu and sat at home, leaving only the Igbos in SW to vote for GEJ. GEJ won the SW with SE, SS and NC votes. |
ndu_chucks: Suprise me and other nairalanders by discussing issues rather than personalities for a change. I ask you, Nchara, what is your specific disagreement with the statements made by the former President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo? We are waiting for your sensible rebuttal. Don't disappoint us.Until you amend your malicious title no reasonable person will even discuss with you. You expect me to start an argument based on your false premise? |
ndu_chucks: hehehehe, I knew you were brainless.Although I am yet to see any brainy hausa fulani, your own depth of brainlessness is palpable |
ndu_chucks: You should be ashamed of yourself for admitting that your current and former leaders can be bribed into selling you out. Most people will not make such a dumb admission publicly. mumuYeah! the political maggot that you are. You just admitting that the youths of Arewa, the future of your almajiri country took bribe from somebody to tell the truth about your evil master. ndu_chucks: Very strange bedfellows, money don change hands |
ndu_chucks: Very strange bedfellows, money don change handsSo how much did Buhari bribe Ikedife with, nama? |
ndu_chucks: Why are you people distancing yourselves from a leader in your community? What a shameless and disloyal people!!! Show me what you disagree with in his statements, stop worrying about his position. Andre_Uweh and Nchara, address the points your leader raised if you are smart enough. Lets hear your specific objections. When you change the false title of your thread we can discuss. You are a buffoon. |
He whose people have rejected will soon run to the market square naked. |
jason123: ^^^I have always told you you are very foolish. Now you affirmed it. |
ndu_chucks: shatap dia!! you must be a small boy if you do not know that Ikedife was President- General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, and when he speaks, he represents your lot. mumuWas, as you said. You will have to hear from the current president and his team. Igbos are not hausa/fulani who one person speaks for. The whole Ohaneze will have to speak to be listened to. We are that democratic okay, ewu awusa. You have been busted with your evil machinations, Boko Haram apologist. Why not ask the former Governor of Kano to speak for Kano rather than the current Governor? Nama. |
Jason always foolish. How does a former Ohaneze chietain represent Ohaneze? Its like saying Obasanjo, instead of Jonathan, will speak for Nigeria. |
^^^^^^ Even Arewa youths (except for BH agents like Ndu Chuks) now loath Buhari. If your own has rejected you which outsider will accept you? |
Buhari’s statement treasonable – The Arewa Youth Forum News Friday, May 18, 2012 By Henry Umoru ABUJA -THE Arewa Youth Forum yesterday slammed the former Military Head of State and 2011 Presidential candidate of Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, General Muhammadu Buhari over his prediction of a bloody revolution if 2015 election is rigged. The youths in a statement described General Buhari's outbursts as misguided, treasonable and uncalled for. Gen Buhari advertisement According to the group, Nigerians must ensure that the prediction of General Buhari of imminent bloodletting does not see the light of the day as such will not only bring disunity, but has the tendency of producing numerous widows and orphans. In a statement signed by the group's President, Abdulkareem Tijani, the group while calling on Nigerians to shun Buhari's call for violence and embrace peace and unity, said, ''Buhari's recent statement that in 2015, violence that will follow the election will make the 2011 violence a child's play, is uncalled for, misguided and treasonable. "Buhari by the statement he made before the election in 2011 precipitated the violence that followed the 2011 presidential election and till now Nigeria has not recovered from the same. ''We call on all Nigerians irrespective of their states and religious back ground to see Buhari for what he truly is.. We hereby call on Nigerians to shun Buhari's call for violence and embrace peace and unity." Also yesterday, the National Council for Peace and Unity stressed the need for leaders to control their anger and sentiments at all times especially at difficult periods like what Nigeria is going through at the moment. The group in a statement signed by its Chairman and former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Engr. Muhammed Abba-Gana, said that there was the need for Nigerians to put heads together to ensure speedy and happy resolution of all crises particularly that of insecurity so that we move on to bring progress and prosperity to our people. According to Abba-Gana, the National Council for Peace and Unity will be setting up a peace and security committee that will be holding public hearings in major geographical zones in Nigeria starting with Lagos. According to the statement, "Instead of Nigerians to vent their anger on the pages of newspapers or on fellow Nigerians, the committee shall provide a platform where people can discuss their grievances and it shall be documented. Nigerians are tired of losing their friends and loved ones as a result of violence. The number of orphans and widows in the northern part of Nigeria is on the increase. We must say no to disunity." |
OP is a bloody liar. That was the opinion of Ikedife and not that of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Do you even know what Ohaneze means? It means all and sundry. So which all and sundry Igbo does Ikedife of today represent? Ohaneze cannot support Buhari whose blood-thirsty comments led to the death of Igbos in the North after the last election and continuing. Please tell your man Buhari that he can never win any election in the SE and SS. He knows that, and that is why he never bothered to campaign in those areas. |
