Tippy Top:You will only alienate those of us who think the SS should have it in 2015. I wonder how many SS votes there are in nigeria that can give you such false confidence. If you prefer, the north can have it forever; who cares. I do not really care about Igbo presidency (this you can see from my posts), in the nearest future. I doubt if anybody is more in love with Nigeria than the Igbo, who are asking for electoral reforms and true federalism. We are not talking of pretenders who only see one Nigeria when it benefits them. FYI, the egg is also found in abundance in Anambra (and also Enugu) and waiting to be layed. + Who was the Igbo man that was presiding when war started?Clearly you are an ignoramus. |
PDP is not the only rigger of election in Nigeria. ANPP, PPA and AC are all rigging too. Only an eediot will attribute rigging only to PDP |
MKO won from votes from all parts of Nigeria, but Nzeribe told him he will NEVER rule (when he made the stupid comment that he could do without the Igbos)and so it was. Yoruba has no power in Nigeria except others, especially the North decides so. |
Thanks Eziachi. Did you read my post, as you seem to be on th esame page with me? I think the Igbo should not think of leading Nigeria in 2015. Let the SS have it, followed again by the North; then Igbo willl be ready after that. However, no need to sound desperate like you seem to do. Yoruba are not key players in Nigerian politics. They only benefit when others choose to allow them. You can see that their own efforts at leading Nigeria have always fallen flat. Awo, Falae are good examples. MKO was voted for by all but when he became too Yorubaish, he was shoved aside and replace with Obasanjo, a thoroughly non-Yoruba Yoruba. . So you can see that the Yoruba have never really decided who rules. They are not capable of making such decisions.I completely agree that the North seems to have the final say, and will even decide which Igbo or SSner leads, until all southerners eschew their differences and work together. But will Yoruba selfishness allow them? Time will tell. |
Tippy Top:Don't be too noisy and panting all over the place . Many Igbo, including yours faithfully, think that the SS should have it then. Of course the Yoruba is way off the mark in 2015. That golden egg you are laying is also being laid by Abia and Imo. Ok? |
Folks, You have now seen how warped the Yoruba logic is and how they are the problem with southern unity. We shall continue to puncture their logic one after the other. They claim they and hausa will continue to rule but at the same time they deny that they and hausa are the ones ruining the country. Like I have said 2015 will be a different game and one of SE or SS (my preference is SS) will emerge. Even northerners know the Yoruba tribal agenda and will only support a Yoruba from the non-mainstream. Awo and Falae failed and MKO also failed when his agenda began to manifest. |
sjeezy8:Is Soludo contesting against a non Igbo? Guy, your logic is something else. You do not have any family in Abia. Stop patronizing yourself. Ok? |
Only a society populated by illiterates and ignorant folks can actually be united POLITICALLY. |
sjeezy8:You said there is no Igbo man to be voted for; note that. + Oluremi returned to PDP after the election she contested on the platform of PPA or APGA. Note that Igbos have learnt the tribal politics and it will take effect in 2015. Some of us will leave our locations abroad to inform our folks back home on how to play the game. We are mobilizing. |
Depilot:Good to note that, but it does not answer my question of whether Yorubas are really united (see my link) and the fact that only an ignorant society will expect 100% political unity. True or false? |
sjeezy8:So there is no Igbo to vote for right? Interesting. Do you sincerely think there are more eligible Yoruba than Igbo to lead Nigeria? FYI, Oluremi is Yoruba formerly married to Igbo and identifies with Igbos very well. She contested under either APGA or APP and not PDP. She was rigged out by Tinubu because of her leaning and the fact that anything that smells Igbo is antipathetic to Yoruba. Igbos are learning or have learnt and 2015 will be a lot different. |
Only a society populated by illiterates and ignorant folks (like Northern Nigeria) can actually be united. USA is an example of a politically disunited country. |
Depilot? Are Yoruba really united? HID Awolowo (Awo's wife) does not think so based on recent reports. Have they been able to overcome their differences and get a Yoruba leader since the death of Adesanya? The Yoruba are difficult to unite –HID Awolowo http://www.champion.com.ng/index.php?news=23127 |
Sjeazy8, Are Yorubas more detribalized than Igbos? I am really at a loss here. Can you tell me any single Igbo man that a Yoruba have voted for in any election? Do you know why Oluremi Bakare-Adiukwu was rigged out by Tinubu/Fashola in the last Lagos election? |
Andre Uweh:Edo state is a power political group in the SS that you ignore at your own peril. IMO, I think they are more powerful than even the Ijaw. That said, I still think the SS should take a shot at the presidency first (2015) before the Igbo. |
bilymuse:There are even more fundamental issues to be addressed for Nigeria to continue to be a nation. You have to still be one nation to be able to address an Igbo issue. |
Again, a Yoruba is the one putting clogs in the wheel of progress of Ndigbo. We are watching and taking notes. Yaradua should just fire that jackass for flouting a presidential recommendation/pronouncement. I look forward to another case of Oluwole Rotimi versus Ojo Maduekwe. |
Andew, Where do you factor in Edo, Urhobo, Efik, Ibiobio, Anang, northern Cross River, Ogini and others? |
From hindsight, it has also gotten to the point where people from SS/SE will also not vote for others. We voted for Abiola, ObJ, Yaradua and even Awo (An Igbo man was Awo's VP then). Since you require specific number of votes from every region to be able to lead in a free and fair election, such outcome means a stalemate which can cause the break up off the country. sjeezy8: |
Sjeazy8 is a political neophyte with weird thoughts. He does not know a jerk about politics in Nigeria. At best he is a closeted bigot. |
An Igbo man from the south south will not be acceptable to Ijaw. Ask Pat Utomi and Edwin Clark ![]() |
Ndu, My response you quoted was for Sjeazy8. I replied your afterwards |
ndu_chucks:Perhaps tribe is a wrong choice of word. It is based on the different regions. Recall that SS, NC and NE are not tribally homogenous. No, I will not vote for any candidate that is not either SS or SE in 2015. |
No doubt, 2015 is either SS (not necessarily Ijaw) or Igbo, and I will prefer that an SS person comes first. We should all hope for Yaradua to finish at least his first term so that if he is incapable to continue another northerner (preferably from the NW) will round off the remaining time until 2015. |
Sjeazy8 Do you mind telling us how Fasola can win a free and fair election? Do you not know that Tinubu rigged him in? Do you think it is only PDP that rigs election? How many Igbos do you think will vote for Fasola in 2015 in a free and fair election when they also want to rule then? Then you must be even more naive than I thought. |
Tribe matters to almost all Nigerians and we should be honest enough to admit this. So people like Fasola, or any other Yoruba, will only be ruling in their dreams in present-day Nigeria, until others have had their turn. |
Sjeazy8, Your arguments are always silly, or at best childish. Note that you are required to win a certain percentage from all regions before you can be a president. No one region can win even if all its members voted for their own, if other regions do not. Falae tried it in 1999 and it fell through woefully. In a free and fair election, it is difficult to say who will win or not, since by all indication the VP of most candidates will come from the other side of the country (that is, North and South versus South and North) to complement each other. |
What Igbos need urgently (as in 2015) is not the presidency of a thoroughly rotten nation as Nigeria. They need much more than that and allowing the SS to have it first will be a goodwill that will pay off for Ndigbo in the end. I won't go further. |
Depilot:Your questions are preposterous except if you agree that the last census was correct. 1. Assuming that was the case, the result indicated 16M+ people in the 5 Igbo states and I can wager that more than 95% of those are Igbo. Every one knows that Igbos live in millions in Nigerian cities/villages outside Igboland, which nonetheless are bonafide Nigerian communities. Why was tribe removed from the census that would have shown the real Igbo population? 2. Millions of Igbo live outside Nigeria and if voting by Nigerian diaspora is allowed, as with many other countries, the impact will be felt dramatically. 3. However, I doubt that more Igbos are looking to move out of Nigeria than for e.g. Yoruba. It could be 50:50 or slightly the other way round. Visit the embassies and do the math. |
In a deeply ethnically divided country such as Nigeria, I support rotational presidency in all its ramification, despite any disadvantages it may have. However I disagree that Ndigbo should compulsorily take the slot in 2015. I would wish that we allow the South South the position then, after which it goes to the North and then back to the Igbo. I would wish that almost every other group try their hand at the presidency based on the sequential rotation so that among the southern groups, Igbo will have it last. He who laughs last laughs best. I have a reason for this position that I would not like to state here. Anybody wishing to know can contact me at bard_org@hotmail.com. Thanks |
