Topic: What makes you think Fasola is not one of their kind? How can snake (Tinubu) give birth to lizard (Fasola)? A snake wil always breed its kind. No? Just wait for things to unfold. |
brooklyn99:Hey Oduduwa defender. This thread was not about Lagos. It was about the entire governors but red baba decided to turn it into Lagos. So I am helping him show the whole world the complete picture of Lagos. The good and bad must come together and nobody is deceived by the flashy side only. Fasola is not so hot afterall. BTW, some Yoruba in here are fast becoming synonymous with calling people tribalist just because their opinions differ. |

hackney:It could be safer in the sense that the gun production process will be regulated and the gun makers will have legit market to sell their products rather than sell to criminals. I guess that when people are busy working to earn a decent living they have less (or no) time for crime. This is obvious. If anyone thinks it is bad for govt to intervene here, they should say what the gov sould do alternatively. Clearly, gun making in the community is historical and unless the opponents of the govt intervention are of the view that all the indigenes be wiped out, then guns must continue to be made there- and unfortunately sold to criminals who patronize the makers. IMHO, the only option is the proposed govt entry to help regulate the process and to engender legit market for the factory products, when established. |

Gbenga Daniel's Ogun State (laugh out very loud)

It will legally generate employment for the boys, as well as bring the gun making business in the area into the formal sector and possibly bring foreign exchange to the country. Now all the guns made in Abala will pass out to other places (and even outside the country) via formal means. Those saying workers in the proposed factory will steal guns and give to criminals are insincere because the guns are already being given out to criminals anyways, even without a factory. Indeed, as noted by a contributor, almost everyone there is a gun factory unto themselves. I hope the feds will see this through. |

N12bn transferred into Akingbola’s account before CBN’s intervention - Intercontinental Bank, - As CBN orders banks to publish unaudited reports quarterly From Dare Adekanmbi and Odidison Omankhanlen Friday, December 11, 2009 THE new management of Intercontinental Bank Plc has said that the transfer of funds totalling N12 billion into the account of the sacked group chief executive, Mr. Erastus Akingbola, was done before the August 14, 2009 intervention of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and not after assumption of duties by the new managers. This was contained in a statement signed by Mr. Lawrence Ndukwe, and made available to the Nigerian Tribune. According to the statement, a refutal became necessary following reports in the media that the transaction was done post-CBN intervention of August 14, 2009. “Putting the records straight, the management of the bank wishes to state that the transactions on the transfer of approximately £10 million were done between March and April 2009, whilst the transfer of N10 billion was done in May, 2009. Both transactions were done before the CBN intervention and assumption of office of the new management team,” the statement explained. The statement added further that consequent upon the denial by the current management on the transaction, four senior officials of the bank had been invited for questioning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). It reassured the public that the new management had, since assumption of duties, put stringent controls in place to forestall a recurrence of such transactions. Meanwhile, in line with its zero tolerance for any misdemeanour in the banking sector, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has rolled out more disclosure requirements to banks, warning that erring bank chief executives will be made accountable for his action. In his opening address at the 6th Annual Corporate Financial Reporting Summit of the Nigerian Accounting Standards Board (NASB) in Lagos on Thursday, CBN Governor, Mallam Lamido Sanusi, stated that henceforth, banks in the country would now be required to publish their unaudited reports on quarterly basis, stating that it would enable the regulators and users of such financial reports to be better informed on the financial status and performance of the banks. Other areas of disclosure that were strengthened in the new guidelines, according to the CBN governor, included risk management, corporate governance, capital structure and adequacy, executive compensation, regulatory sanctions and penalties. Others are disclosure of related companies, persons engaged as service providers and suppliers to a bank; disclosure on Board of Directors’ performance; concentration of assets liabilities and off balance sheets and disclosure on loan quality, among others. Sanusi, who was represented by the Director, Banking Supervision, Mr. Samuel Oni, further observed that the revelations from the recent joint audit examination conducted on all the banks, in concert with the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), showed that the industry needed cleansing, stressing that disclosure deficiencies were found to have largely contributed to weak internal controls and impudent risk management practices in banks. |
Thanks. However it goes beyond Anambra; Igbo women are hot generally Ms Arunma Otteh from Abia State is the current VP of African Development Bank Nkech Nwogu from Abia is a senator Ngozi Okonjo Iweala is the boss of Mrs Ezekwesili; she is Delta Igbo married to an Abian adigun101: |
brooklyn99:You can at least rescue yourself by posting photos of Osun, Oyo, Ekiti, Ondo and Ogun. Let's compare them to Abia (not even Enugu and Imo). Or are all Yoruba people now from Lagos? Ode buruku |
How to rate the governors: This is usually done based on different parameters, followed by a grand selection for the overall best performance Best gov security Best gov food production Best gov infrastructure (roads/housing/water supply) Best gov prompt salary payment Best gov industrialization Best gov job creation Best gov provision of health Best gov rural development Best gov improvement in education/provision of scholarships Best gov low or no corruption (just by perception, at least for now) Best gov environmental/beautification More, Anything short of a scientific method is null and void and ends here at NL ![]() |
illusion2:Read my posts. I have always said of (among) the states, Lagos takes the highest of the VAT money. Of course the FGN is the big brother ![]() Also, I take it you also agree that oil-producing states should use their oil to grow their economies, right? |
What are the criteria for voting? You guys are jokers. |
Illussion2, VAT money is not shared equally. Lagos generates more VAT money and also gets the highest, among the states. There was (or perhaps still on) a lawsuit in which Lagos wants to get all of the VAT that comes from the state (just like the oil-producing states are asking for 100% resources control) but the feds are kicking seriously. I am asking a friend who works in the fed min of finance to get me one month's VAT disbursement data. As soon as that is available, I will post it here. I had one before but lost it when my NL-dedicated laptop crashed due to NL's virus infection ![]() I agree that Lagos does not get back the equivalent of the VAT money it generates, but so do the oil-producing states with respect to oil from their lands. |
