Politics › Re: Only enemies of Nigeria hate Buhari......see why by ndcide(m): 1:42pm On Jun 29, 2016
An emotional attempt to make people bow to brazen display of incompetence and highhandedness in government.

Nonsense like this is what makes buhari think every Nigerian is corrupt except him.

Is it the hate for buhari that is almost destroying the country? Is it the hate that is affecting the price of diesel? Cooking gas? Is it the hate that have reduced the purchasing power of most Nigerians and made even food and other commodities that we Usually takes for granted a luxury, just in one year of his administration?

Some people really think the arrests and media exchanges on the so called corruption issue are what impacts the average Nigerian.

The other day a woman in marina was crying that I should buy singlets from her as she hasn't sold anything in a while.. This woman begged so passionately that I had to pick two.. What I saw was anguish on her face...in pain she said this "change" no good.. Point is, people are not even buying things as before... After such an experience, I will log on to nairaland and see people talking absolute nonsense. Cheering the government on.. At best they blame the past government, because that is the most convenient thing to do. IS THAT THE ISSUE?

Like I said the OTHER time, some people are just mad.

This issue is as simple as ABC. It's just that some persons just want to twist it because of their political sentiments. Look as how many lines used to give Falana's position. even when his wrong by trying to make it an election issue. Falana should have known that the election issues hadbeen settled at the supreme court. But will he? when it's all about political sentiments?

Just hope they will not be embarrassed by the AGF. All he need to tell them in answer to any question is that 'the matter is already in court. Let the court decide.
And what if the senate president decides not to appear in court. I see these this from the angle of separation of powers and mutual respect.

I'm no Buhari or APC or Burutai apologetic.

Lemme say that first so you understand my drift. The onus lies on the accuser to proof. If things work that way, everybody should be probed by EFCC, when they buy a car or rent a house above their average income. Someone who has some link to him abusing funds needs to come through saying how and then EFCC takes it from there.
Efcc already have enough to take it up. If it were the other side, we know what will be on the news.

I've made my point. If you are Igbo and you truly think like this, it's left for you and your people. Politics and tends change. This present political wind will pass. If they change because of emotional blackmail, they'll miss it.

GEJ have done his bit amidst hostile political environment. If others can't do their own without dragging him along, then they have failed.
Politics › Re: President Buhari, Ndigbo And The Politics Of Hate - Chris Chukwubuzor Azuka by ndcide(m): 7:18pm On Jun 26, 2016
The writer is just ignorant and prejudiced. I just read a pained person trying to use emotional blackmail on an ethnic group to whip them into line.

Look at the unfortunate language he used for GEJ who was a victim of extreme hate. Of course it will be supported by the narrative of looting, being peddled by a grossly ineffective government. What is this government doing other than tell us people are looting.

The writer was shallow and the igbo people should be careful of people like this.

The Igbo people must know that they succeeded in making a strong statement by speaking with one voice in politics in 2015. Anyone who hates them will want to destroy that. For NOW, their greatest asset is that strong political statement. IF THEY LOSE IT BECAUSE OF WRITERS LIKE THIS, THEY'LL LOSE THEIR POWER.

@Op, there are also dangers of giving room for pockets of relationships here and there. The pains, and regret of silly relationships are everywhere.

That's why people come up with the lame defense of "my past" "every body has a past" "I don't Want to" "Talk about my past" etc we must be guided. We must always apply wisdom in all our actions.

Im not saying people shouldn't have relationships. But we all must be focused in life... No use of boyfriend and girlfriend if it's not defined. Most importantly, if you want to live a godly life.

If the government can't do their work they should quit and let's have NDA as government. As it seems NDA know their jobs.

kOWA can not be indifferent up till this moment on national issues and want to be taken serious. Rather than being indifferent, they can join APC.

If they are afraid to speak on any issue in the country. they can as well wait till election day to make up the number.

I am responding to you comment for the second time...to tell you this.

Nigerians agreed to the overthrow of the First republic.....and we still had crisis

Nigerians agreed to the overthrow of the Second Republic...and our economic and social problems did not improve.

I never liked the PDP. I was opposed to them since 1999. But if someone had suggested we overthrow them since 1999...because of crisis (and there was crisis in the PDP's governance since 1999.....Sharia, militancy, etc....all these problems we face did not start last year).....I WOULD HAVE SAID A BIG NO.

Same thig for this government....which I am not entirely fond of. (They refuse to make the hard decision to get us off our oil dependency).

So understand this.....I am for democracy, even if my enemy is in charge, even if everything is in crisis, even if problems dey.....I am for democracy....because I ain't going back to the days of rule by decree, disappearance of dissidents, and fear of being able to say what you wanted.I am for democracy. Say what you want....Army rule is NO solution. Our experiences in 1966-70, and 1983-1999 should have told us that.

Thank you.
I really didn't feel like responding to you. But please don't get it twisted.

People who celebrate ANY FORM OF EXECUTIVE RASCALITY because of "corruption" cannot in the same breath say they don't like military rule or they don't want a coup. I just does not add up. What you really want will be best served by the military.

People cannot condemn mob action in the streets yet would want mob actions for a politician. It's one and the same. It's the mindset of "buhari will lock you up" that people take to the streets.. Yes the politicians stole, yes, the man or woman killed by mob in the street stole too. We are breeding extremism, we are setting grounds for revenge and counter revenge. We are breeding cult-like systems in our society. We are not doing it with proper reorientation and tightening of systems. All the coup in the past were all hinged on corruption. ALL!

That's why I say, Yes at this rate, there will or can be a coup. The people in government know this fact that's why they are kind of apprehensive about the rumor.

That's my point.
Politics › Re: Buratai Summons Top Commanders To Emergency Meeting by ndcide(m):
Quakertellicus1:
[s]Some people seem to want a millitary coup.

Let me remind you that life under Army rule is no beans.

1.Dissidents under Army rule could dissapear for months, even years...and no one would know where they were. See IPOB Kanu. Arrested today, in court tomorrow. Under Army rule...that won;t happen.

2.Army rule won't sort out the economic crisis. Because....we are an oil dependent economy, and the only way out of this economic crisis is by getting rid of oil.

In 1983...we threw out the civillians because of oil prcie crash in 1982. In 1985...we threw out the then Army govt and brought in IBB. By 1989...things got worse economically...all because oil prices stayed low.

3.Army rule won't allow any form of critique. Under this democracy we have been practicing since 1999...have you heard of newspaper houses being closed down? No way. Army rule...can see media houses shut down for months...because of the government not liking what you said.

4.Army rule will not bring about true federalisim. Sorry....but that is the fact.

5.Army rule won;t allow all these Avengers. Under Army rule...the Avengers would be wiped out. without any form of recourse to rule of law. Ditto....IPOB, OPC et al. Army does not tolerate any other armed group. You would wish PMB was back in power....even GEJ TOO...you would wish GEJ too was back in power.

So...anyone talking about coup....better watch it. Army rule means more disaster. In 1965...people were calling for coup. Five years later...millions were dead. And Nigeria was changed forever[/s].
If we continue with the present brigandage, bad-blood, unsettling the polity, sorry there will be coup and those guys at that meeting will be taken out. The press statement was even somehow... won't say more.

We can all be emotional but the problem with this level of executive rascality is that, it will backfire.. And they'll say "corruption is fighting back" Now who wouldn't fight back if and when we can.

Efcc cannot not just freez Fayose's personal account. If you have to, then get a valid court order. If you get the court order, will you commence prosecution without going against the law?

You can't freez his account indefinitely. That's witch hunt.

We know people are emotional with this but you still have to be reasonable.

Finally.. Falana is not the best person to rely on with things like this because he is prejudiced most times and he's a creation of the media.

To make matters even worse, Jonathan initiated that scheme and it covers every state of the federation. Other states are utilising the lands for that purpose (accommodation and recreation) and Anambra state revoked theirs. But since it is coming from the land of the "untouchables" ****the fg should simply fold her hands and watch them do as they please.

Why didn't they object to it when the ineffectual buffoon was mapping out the land for that purpose??

People just keep coming here to show shat ignorant fools they are everyday- simple "sights and services" dem no sabi. Smh.

there is NO POINT at all! Granting the Legislators immunity is same as saying once you are a legislator you can't be prosecuted for the rest of your life because some can spend 30years plus on the sit while the executive only has 8years max. The guy saraki is a thief looking for every avenue to escape.
Who has spent 30 years as a head of an arm of government in Nigeria.

The truth is that buhari doesn't deserve immunity. It should be removed. The truth is that buhari is not going to be president forever.

When GEJ was president, those who want immunity for buhari now were voicing out against it. They were telling us about impeachment, some were talking about revolution etc.

We must be dispassionate when saying these things.

If the statement was for immunity to be removed from the executive only, will you not come in defense?

Just like many, you'll change position after buhari.
