mikeansy:I will remind you in a few months that Yar'Adua has not been impeached. You think the "powers that be" is a myth? Ok o. I don hear. |
mikeansy:You are missing the point buddy! Jonathan has full presidential executive powers. I suspect you wouldn't mind rocking the boat so that Jonathan is called the President. Please tell me what difference that would make, at this point in time. 2011 is just arround the corner. |
Beaf:That's a big "IF". I wonder why he has not yet been removed. You people sound quite naive to me - you should have known by now that, GJ and the powers that be, have made deals that will prevent the impeachment of Yardy. If you don't believe that, then you are quite ignorant of the Nigerian political climate. |
mikeansy:I reads the article. I believe it is designed for the consumption of Americans and its basically a PR mechanism for El Rufai. El Rufai did not write about any new issue, everything he talked about is well known to us. The title of the article "Time for a New Nigerian President" represents his main point which he supported with various common knowledge. He is dead wrong to conclude that we need a new president now. Why?? We have Jonathan! |
Beaf:A wonderful threat by a toothless cyber warrior. This is your own version of april fool, ko? Put some teeth in your threat and start organizing protests in Abuja, PH, and in your village. |
Why is El Rufai calling for a new President at this point in time? GJ is acting President with full presidential powers and the next presidential election is slated for 2011 or shortly thereafter, so this call by El Rufai is senseless. Rufai appears to be oblivious to the political system in Nigeria and this ignorance may account for the currentg troubles he has with the law. Our best bet is to allow GJ to continue as acting President until the next election. El Rufai's analysis is flawed in this case. Any attempt to remove Yar'Adua from office at this point will lead to more instability and danger. new president ko, new emperor ni. |
This Ikwerre bruhaha is probably not unrelated to the fact that the ND oil rich areas occupied by the Ikwerre need to be seen as Igboland in the grand scheme of things. I wonder whether this would have been so much of an issue without the oil in that area. |
naijaking1:naijaking1, No one in his right mind will try to defend pedophilia, a dispicable crime. You are the one who introduced politics by asking the question "But how come he has managed to climb so high in Nigerian politics?" I responded to your question that "I suspect he cliimbed so high because other "qualified" people are too much of cowards to participate in politics - they specialize in criticisms instead. What a pity!" Instead of responding to my response to you, you chose to rant about pedophilia in your usual Maradona manner. Keep it up, we see what you are trying to do. |
naijaking1:LOL, This is why I call you maradona - you've conveniently removed "certain people" from the so called qualified in question. Note however that, people like Yerima are found throughout Nigeria, including in your hometown of Aba. |
naijaking1:I suspect he cliimbed so high because other "qualified" people are too much of cowards to participate in politics - they specialize in criticisms instead. What a pity! |
Sky Blue:LOL, abeg make we hear word. Here was your question to me With regards to the part in bold, show us just ONE, I repeat, just ONE of these so called "statements" released by Yar Adua, or please just stop embarassing yourself."I showed you the released statements, you now want a signed statement! Stop moving the goal post, I've answered your question. |
Beaf:Stop telling lies. Dangote conducts banking operations in several countries. Provide a source if you are sure of yourself. |
knotty:I hope you are not intellectually challenged. One would have expected you to express your disgreement with any of my statements in a more expressive manner. |
BabaOnileK:LOL, thanks for pointing out the obvious. I knew the usual suspects will come to the thread with their usual defense of the indefensible. Naijaking1, expectedly made his usual pitch. It should be noted that as a result of the 2009 publication of the debtor list, several hundred billions of naira have been recovered from the listed debtors. The CBN act of releasing the list has been justified. |
benzion72:Let it go!! Yar'Adua is holding no one in ransome, you are the one holding yourself in ransome. GJ is acting president - Nigeria is moving forward and leaving you behind. |
Sky Blue:Stop exhibiting ignorance here. Take a look at these, olodo: http://www.news.dailytrust.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=14836:yaradua-jonathan-is-acting-president&catid=46:lead-stories&Itemid=140 and this one http://newsdiaryonline.com/Jonathan%20_recognition.htm The service will be over in a few minutes, Yar'Adua will not be attending this one. You all can go and rest now. |
The reaction to most of you to Yar'Adua's attendance of the Jumat service shows extraordinary insensitivity and evil. If Yar'Adua and his relations believe that he would receive healing by going to the service, who are you to question them? Yar'Adua is a human being first - so let's respect the man and let him try to work through his illness in peace. Yar'Adua himself has issued statements recognizing GJ and acting president. I'm sure when many of you hear that some foreign healer is coming for a crusade, you'd do all you can to attend because you expect miracles. If Yar'Adua is able to attend the service, then we should all be thankful that he is receiving healing. Please let Yar'Adua be and let us all wish him well. |
naijaking1:I see you have chosen to read my post carefully this time. Now, go and reread other posts and you'll note the consistency. I personally believe that most of the charges against these people are with merit and I expect some of them to be convicted - there is nothing ambiguous about my position. I do not believe that any of them should be labbelled as criminals before conviction, but I reserve the right to believe that they are guilty, before the said conviction. |
naijaking1:Stop your false accusations, Im not against due process! I hope when any of these people are convicted, you'd finally find a way to condemn their criminal and irresponsible acts which I believe many of them commited. You failed to highlight the fact that the judge found enough grounds to refuse to quash the corruption charges brought against these people. See below: Justice Ajakaiye, however, refused to quash corruption charges preferred against the former Managing Directors of Bank PHB, Francis Atuche and that of Spring Bank Plc, Charles Ojo, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). |
naijaking1:Now its your turn to be ashamed of yourself for analogizing the destruction of shareholder value worth trillions of naira to a annoying and harmless house rat. As someone mentioned, the sacked CEOs over exposed their banks to the stock market and lost depositors funds when the market crashed, granted loans to themselves via proxy companies without following due process, and all the while presenting a false picture of being healthy while in truth they were going belly up! Thats no rat in the house buddy, its more like vicious termites and bugs that have infested 95% of the house! You don't treat those with mouse traps. You, my friend, are what we call a girraffe with a long neck buried under the sand in denial - rakumin dajij. |
What's the relationship between Pat Utomi (an owner of a multimillion naira non performing loan) and the Renaissance Professionals? |
Gaddafi's criticisms and antics may very well be just what we need in Nigeria. We need a common enemy that will make us realise that we are indeed one. Gaddafi can go to hell and burn - he is flexing his muscles because he thinks we are vulnerable. |
sjeezy8:He's been saying the right things about federalism and other important issues lately. Despite the misconceptions, I agree with you that IBB could win a free and fair election in Nigeria. He could carry the NE, NW, SE, and possibly SW; the electorate believes that all our leaders are guilty of corruption and like you, believes IBB can indeed make a positive change in the country. If he can come across as a repented old man who has nothing to gain from being a President except build a better legacy for himself, voting Nigerians will buy it. The man enjoys incredible amount of goodwill particularly after his wife died recently. Additionally he is one of the smartest politicians Nigeria ever had. Let' also remember that he pulled out of the presidential race to alow Yar'Adua to run - I wouldn't rule him out at all. If he runs, I doubt Jonathan would accept the VP spot. |
SapeleGuy:There is no millitary solution for the ND problem, the political solution which people like Akhibe are working on is the only viable one. MEND is not doing any ND citizen a favor by disrupting this political process with terrorist activities. |
US Dismisses Report on Troop Intervention The US State Department has flatly denied a newspaper report that alleged President Barrack Obama is preparing American troops for a “special intervention” in Nigeria. |
@ndu_chuks Your style is not new. You try to tear down and sow discord from the inside but it is no more working. I wonder why you should prefer a name that sound Igbo on nairaland, or even okeymadu. It says a lot about how your mind works. MEND does not necessarily need Akighibe right now, you know why? Their bros is incharge. So deal with it. No matter how hard you try to divide MEND into 2 on nairaland, they keep doing their thing and command a lot of sympathy in the creeks. Ok, let me make it easier for you- the kind of sympathy YOU have for CRIMINAL Iranian dictatorship. Clearer now?
Why don't you address any particular issue I've raised instead of your attention seeking attack on personalities? Do you support the recent killing of innocent ND civilians by MEND? Do you agree that the said innocent killings constitute acts of terrorism? My userid is irrelevant to these issues. Wouldn't it be insane to assume that you are a white man because your userid is Frank? olodo |
SapeleGuy:I respect the man enough to believe that he was not lying when he said he was not aware of the plan to set off the bombs. You have to admit that MEND shot itself on the foot on this one. Ibime:Don't attempt to tarnish Akhigbe's image, you people have done enough to squander the goodwill you've been enjoying - MEND is a certified terrorist organization, the recent bombing is just another manifestation of this fact. @chosen04 - na Ijaw I for go learn for evening class, olodo babe (prolly fine who knows). |
Onlytruth:I've always spoken truthfully if you pay attention to what I write. The fact that my perspective may be different attimes does not mean that the relevant statement is a lie. If I make a factual error and I'm corrected, I will stand corrected. Onlytruth:I still maintain that an interest group consisting of all Nigerians in the USA will be more effective than that consisting of one tribe, all things being equal. Standing up as one (Nigerian) will get you more clout in the USA than what you are indirectly promoting. |
monkeyleg:Its not about whether one believes that Gaddafi's statement is true or false, its about not meddling in sensitive internal affairs of nations with which one has diplomatic relationships. Gaddafi's statement is totally undiplomatic and reckless - recalling the ambassador is the correct protest move. |
This suggestion is in the best interest of Igbo residents in the USA for obvious reasons. It is also legitimate because according to the census bureau, people may have chosen to provide two or more races either by checking two or more race response check boxes, by providing multiple write-in responses, or by some combination of check boxes and write-in responses. However, one would have thought a campaign to write-in "Nigerian" as a race would have served us better in the long run. Numbers matter. |
