Nairaland / General / Why Condemn Farouk Umar Abdulmutallab? by needeeg(m): 10:09am On Dec 31, 2009 |
We live in a country where innocent people fall victims of ritual killings for power and money, people dying as a result of ethnic and religious rivalry, people swallowing drugs and trafficking them across the world for whatever reasons, yet we are quick to create online groups to disown a young innocent but misguided individual because we don't like to see a face that looks just like ours on CNN!! I am not agreeing with what he did it definitely isn't right, but I am in no position to judge him. Martin luther King once said " A man who won't die for something is not fit to live", lets not pretend we have all the answers, lets pray for our youth and give them all the support they need to be better citizens of the world!!! Because disowning the young man is not going to get us any favors form the west!!!! |

Religion / Re: Bounties Of Jannat (paradise) by needeeg(m): 3:32pm On Jan 20, 2008 |
Bounties of Jannat When Mu'min will enter into Jannah, it will be announced:- (1) You will remain healthy forever, disease will never come. (2) You will remain alive for ever, death will never come. (3) You will remain in bounties which will never be finished. Jannat is made with bricks of gold and silver, Its cement is of perfumed musk. Its chips are pearls and Yaqoot. Its sand is Zafraan. There are eight doors ofJannah. these are eight grades of Jannat:- i) Jannatul Mava ii) Darul Maqaam iii) Darul Salaam iv) Darul Khuld v) Jannat-ul-Adan vi) Jannat-ul-Naeem vii) Jannat-ul-Kasif viii) Jannat-ul-Firdous Food of Jannah They will eat foods and fruits continuously up to 40 years. Every bowl will have a new taste. They will take eructation which will digest the food and there will be perfumed sweating for the digestion of water. There will be no urine and stool. There will be gardens inJannah. Every garden will have the length of about 100 years journey. The shadow of these gardens will be very dense. Their plants will be free of thorns. The size of their leaves will be equal to ears of elephants. Their fruits will be hanging in rows. Jannatul Mava is in the lowest, Jannat-ul-Adan is the middle and Jannat-ul- Firdous is on the highest. Those who love each other for the sake of Allah, will get a pillar of Yaqoot, on which there will be seventy thousand (70,000) rooms. These will shine for the residents of Jannah as the sun shines for the residents of Duniya. There will be rooms in Jannah in such a way that every room will have seventy thousand (70,000) dinning sheets. On every dinning sheet 70,000 types of foods will be served. For their service 80,000 young boys will be moving around looking like beautiful scattered pearls. One bunch of dates will be equal to the length of 12 arms. The size of a date will be equal to the big pitcher. These will be whiter than milk, sweeter than honey and softer than butter and free of seeds. The stem of these plants will be made up of gold and silver. There will also be gardens of grapes. The bunches of grapes will be very big. The size of a single grape will be equal to a big pitcher (pot). Someone asked, Ya Rasulullah (Sallalahu alaihi wasallam): will it be sufficient for me and my family. It was answered, it will be sufficient for you and your whole tribe. The Dresses of Jannat The dress of Jannah will be very beautiful. One will wear 70 dresses at a time. These will be very fine, delicate, weightless, having different colors. These dresses will be so fine that the body even the heart will be visible. And the waves of love in the hearts will also be visible. These dresses will never become old, never be dirty and will never tear. There will be four canals in every Jannah. They are of water, milk, honey and Sharabun Tahoora. There will also be three fountains in Jannah. (i) Kafoor. (ii) Zanjabeel. (iii) Tasneem Qualities of People of Jannah * In Jannah, height of every Mo 'min, will be equal to the height of Hazrat Adam (Alaihissalaam) 60 arms (90 feet). * Beauty will be like that of Hazrat Yousuf (Alaihissalaam) * Age of youth will be like that of Hazrat Esa (Alaihissalaam) (30-33 years). * Sweetness of voice will be like that of Hazrat Dawud (Alaihissalaam). * Tolerance will be like that of Hazrat Yaqoob (Alaihissalaam) * Patience will be like that of Hazrat Ayyub (Alaihissalaam.) * Habits will be like that of Sayyaduna Muhammad (Sallalahu alaihi wasallam.) If a person makes Du 'a for Jannah three times, Jannah requests Allah that O, Allah; make his entry into Jannah. And if a person makes Du'a for safety from Jahannum three times, the Jahannnum requests Allah that, O, Allah; save him from Jahannum. |

Politics / Re: Ribadu Fired! by needeeg(m): 2:45pm On Dec 31, 2007 |
In its bid to ensure that a credible person takes over the affairs of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), following the recommendation that Mallam Nuhu Ribadu proceeds on a course at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPPS), the Presidency has tipped former Kaduna State military governor, Col Abubakar Umar (retd) to take over the anti-graft agency. However, the police hierarchy had recommended Police Commissioner Olayinka Balogun of Special Fraud Unit, in Lagos for the job. Daily Sun gathered that the Presidency had approached Col Umar to take over the EFCC in order to deflate the criticism and allay the fear that the anti-corruption war would be watered down after the exit of Ribadu. It was gathered that Umar was penciled down because of his radical posture and consistency in criticizing ills in the society and in government. It was believed that his introduction would raise the confidence of Nigerians that the Umar Yar’Adua’s government takes the fight against corruption seriously. Col Umar is a known critic of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, whose eight-year rule he consistently condemned. While the agents of the Presidency are discussing with Umar, the name of CP Balogun is already on the table of President Yar’Adua. Inspector General of Police Mike Okiro was said to have recommended Balogun when Yar’Adua authorized him to write Ribadu to proceed to NIPPS. Meanwhile, Ribadu made effort to reach out to President Yar’Adua at the weekend to lobby to retain his job at the EFCC. This effort however failed as Yar’Adua was away to attend a wedding ceremony outside Abuja when he called at the residential villa, Abuja. In a related development, the battle line appears to have been drawn between top officials of the EFCC and Police authorities in Abuja, following Federal Government’s decision to send Ribadu on a one-year course at NIPSS. Indications that the war could get messy this week came at the weekend when top shots of the EFCC met and agreed to dig up whatever dirty things they could find on the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mike Okiro. Such information, when got, it was gathered, would be leaked to the press to pay the IG back for his role in Ribadu’s removal. Daily Sun learnt that the team of investigators, on the Okiro project is led by a top Ribadu loyalist simply identified as Baba Kura, who also attended the meeting. Senior officers in the Nigeria Police, who spoke with Daily Sun on the condition of anonymity however, said that Ribadu and his men are chasing shadows, stressing that they are scared of being probed. Asked if there is anything to probe Ribadu for, one of the officers said the EFCC chairman needed to explain where he got the N200 million to buy the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) house that was used by the retired Inspector General of Police, Mr. Sunday Ehindero. A top police officer however, told Daily Sun that there was no need for Ribadu to put up a fight against Okiro over the NIPPS course. He said: “Ribadu joined the force in 1988 and now he’s an Assistant Inspector General of Police, while some of his colleagues who performed better than him at the police college are still chief superintendent of police, that’s four steps below him. “We need to put the whole issue in proper perspective and shun sentiments. Let this man go and do the mandatory course, and let him write research papers as it is required for officers who are being trained for leadership positions. The police are a disciplined organization. He’s due for a course, let him go for it and stop making trouble.” At the weekend, there were allegations that Ribadu’s men are moving out some files containing petitions against former President Olusegun Obasanjo to prevent the new EFCC boss from starting an investigation. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2007/dec/31/national-31-12-2007-001.htm |
