Tell him to first build the human element in the people and then the people will build the common destiny in our culture which in turn will build the prosperity of the land which then can accomodate the project to build multiple mega cities that can compare at western standards. |
Stillwater, There is much to the condemnation of Nigeria than just the social impact of what happened to the lady. A lot of Nigerians have a glamourized view of European countries and America. To them Nigeria is a sorry land and its people are bad. From their unglorified thrones in capital cities in Europe and America these idiots fail to see that humanity generally need to evolve and improve our social contact skills and kindness to one another. It is not a American problem or a European problem or a Nigerian problem, it is a global problem. I live in US and when a black person is brutalized and killed or unfairly sent to prison for a crime he has not commited you don't hear it on our forum boards and if it appears it is a silent criticism and the buffons cower and shiver in their skin cautious not to over criticize and be deported from their host country. Justice should be demanded on account of humanity, not on the background of Nationality. When Sean Bell was murdered few months ago how many Nigerians went on the outcry and condemned USA? When the police officers that killed him were set free, how many Nigerians condemned USA? There was a 5yr old boy in Florida some years back that was tasered, how many of us went on an outcry and condemned the Florida government? Stillwater, do you get my point? If its not good in Nigeria for a innocent citizen to be treated the way this lady was treated, then it is not good in USA for any person to be brutalized, much more murdered in cold blood. Everyday on CNN you see a iReporter clip of someone getting victimized by police and yet you never hear any outcry from these USA worshippers who are quick to condemn their own fatherland. |
So I can better respond to your dissapointment in me. |
Frankly speaking I am disappointed in your comments, no offence intended. We all know Nigeria is a place where issues like this would have been swept under the carpets. Thank God for digital cameras. This is not a matter of trying to stigmatize the nation since Nigeria has already done that already. I believe a lot of noise have to be made on this issue, otherwise justice wouldn't be forthcoming. For how long would miscreants be let to roam freely without justice, all in the name of "stop washing our dirty linens in public or the usual sigh of that's Nigeria for you". These countries you mentioned would rarely turn a blind eye to this kind of injustice. Americans for example are very critical of their government. The fact that crime occurs everywhere does not mean WE should walk like a lamb to the slaughter. You can call it bad mouthing but I call it attending to an issue that is long overdue!!!Stillwater, in which country do you live? |
if u ve nothing 2 say, shut d hell up, ur post is sickning,Really? In USA police do not brutalize and even pump bullets into innocent people? no 1 said anytin about nigeria bin bad, the video speaks 4 nigeria, after seeing this video it is easy 4 alot of people 2 b EMBERASSED,DISCOURAGED,ASHAMED 2 b called naijas,Point of correction; Embarassed, discouraged and ashamed for HUMANITY! in ur view it is normal, so we should keep living in hell, because sum of us r cowards,Another point of correction; Change starts when you LIVE your right and EXERCISE ACCOUNTABILITY. Kreamiedol, You are a buffon! Come back when you get it right. Stop the slogan and practice the ideal. |
As Bush Years of ruling is comming to a close end, What Do You think of His era?David hit some important notes on it already that I believe may be omitted from Bush's memoirs when his Presidential library is commissioned. I need to use the present to qualify the political environment in 2000 election. The principal figure is first, Sarah Palin and second, John McCain. By far, Sarah Palin in 2008 is more intelligent and culturally exposed than Bush was in 2000. If Palin's lack of intellectual and foreign relations credit disqualifies her to be a competent VP, what more with Bush that qualifies him to be a competent President? In retrospect, this was the root of the problem for why Bush ended his two terms on the current note. Unlike McCain's heritage which is heavily military, Bush's heritage is solidly in public policy and executive administration; his grandfather was a congressional member , his father was a congressional member, a US Ambassador to UN, a US Diplomat to China, the Director of CIA, VP for eight years, the President for four years, went to war and won against Saddam. Bush 43 himself was a Governor for eight years. . . . . so it's not like he did not have the experience. His problem as I mentioned - aptitude and cultural exposure. Bush never traveled outside US until he became President, can you believe it! I could go on and expand and clarify in details but I will spare you the trouble of reading my lengthy article. There is one good thing I love about him and that is, George Bush does not waver in the face of threat, he is a brave man and a reliable leader to have in front in times of national security. His judgements may have been wrong but his decisiveness is exemplary. Also, he is down to earth with a good sense of humor. |
Horus, Who died? Why is the flag at half mast? ![]() |
police or people in uniform brutality happens every where - don't use this to stigmatise NigeriaDid you all see what i_Laugh said at the top? I wonder how many of us in here read and digest information before shooting opinions. It is unlawful and inhumane to treat anybody the way the woman was treated but the problem should not be used as a rallying point to demonize Nigeria, it happens everywhere. The rate of such brutalities, per thousand of population head, where civilians are brutalized by uniformed officers is higher in America than it is Nigeria. I don't care where you stay - Britain, Japan, USA, Kazakhstan, Germany, Italy, France. . . . . you all need to face your own problems in those countries and stop bashing my beloved country. You all go and bad mouth those places and leave my Nigeria alone. If you can't solve the problem shut the hell up! |
What are the odds that Obama will complete first term in office with no legislative censorship? What are the odds that Biden will not have another anuerysm during first term in office? What are the odds that George Bush will not provoke Iran before leaving office in January 2009? What are the probability of success that George Bush will capture or kill Osama Bin Laden before end of term in Janury? What are the odds that McCain will retire from public service within the next two years? What are the possibilities that you love political games - analyzing, predicting and hitting target on political events around the Globe? Darfur & Plus Queen, I heard you were looking for me. Wassup? Talk to me, . . . Hey folks, dont waste time. . . . come and put your bet in, we started the 2012 race already. Go here and place prospects http://www.intrade.com/jsp/intrade/contractSearch/ I made some winnings on the 4th but then I lost the electoral counts. I foolishly predicted that Obama, if he won, would not get above 280 electoral votes. The way things stand he will be elected regardless. He is currently at 79+. If I give tolerance for a handful of defectors, Obama will still be above 300 electoral votes; 20 more than I placed bets. That error cost me $40 twice. Dont waste time fellas, . . come and make money on political prospecting, its easy. There were some discussions to prospect on Osama Bin Laden's fate and terrorist activities back in 2002-2003 but it was blocked by DoD. Hey Darfur, unless you can bet your money on Obama, you need to shut up! |
amen! |
Okay now, don't you all have to get up in the morning to go to work? Why you all still in here this late? |
Obama is more prolific in literature than his speechwriter. You need to read some of his opinions at Harvard to believe. He was elected the President of Harvard Law Review on account of his superb literary gifts. Morenike, Michelle does not have finesse. She will need to work on that aspect of her image profile. She's a beautiful woman but she doesn't carry her self gracefully. Watch her stride and the way she slumps her arm after a wave. |
Barack is a divine teacher whose message resonates the truth in your spirit and moves you into physical action. If anyone is capable of getting the people moving, its Barack Obama. |
I think he did,but in passing. He mentioned Maya, half sister from Mom and another half sister from Dad - I did not catch name. |
Dang, Michelle is looking good! She need to work some more on her choice of fabric and colors. She came on stage like an Oya worshipper - red and black! Where will his auxiliary White House be, Illinois or Hawaii? |
He won it for his grandma, did he not? |
They are going to attempt on his life but they will not succeed. Oh no, that was a joke Moremi. Ehn, God forbid I vote for Sarah. I believe the people are going to rise up in the momentum of Obama's courage and Presidency and demand better accountability from the government. As usual I study the party platform and not the candidates. I suspect as the leader of the Democratic party, Obama will incrementally revise the platform. It will be a struggle and I wish him luck in it. If he fails to use his influence to effect changes on behalf of the people then I could very well vote for Cynthia McKinney in 2012 if she is on ballot of any party. |
Saddam, If you wake up to a knock on your door in the morning at least you know why. There are certain lead words that are unacceptable after 9/11 and you just ignorantly used one of them. I dont know you and you dont know me , ok? |
Just kidding, I have a candidate in my mind for 2012. But for now, this is Obama's night and Obama's time, I need to stay focused on his celebration. I think McCain is very gracious in his concession. |
McCain is out of the picture for future elections. Sarah, wassup in 2012 babe? ![]() |
McCain concedes . |
can the broke people pop some aquafinalmao . ![]() |
It is historic and a joyous moment for all people of African descent all over the world, particularly a memorable and milestone accomplishment for the African American population in America. Congratulations to Senator Obama on his victory in the 2008 US general elections. Its a day of victory for all those before him who shed blood and tears and sweat in the hope for a day like this; all of them, known and unknown by name but more so to Martin Luther King and Malcom X. The victory belongs to Barack but the honor is to MLK. I look forward eagerly and with hope to his election as the 44th President on December 15th, as well as his inauguration on January 20th. Barack Obama, Congrats to you! |
Oh my, that's Grand! There is a pattern that most people did not notice in this election year - weather! The weather was nice and accomodating all over. Years past, you had rain, sleet, freezing wind. Chi town looks like mid50s on the thermometer, unbelievable! I am reserving my jubilation and binge till Dec 16th. Celebrate for me tonight in Chicago dear. ![]() |
If McCain fails to concede tonight then expect legal challenges in Ohio, Virginia, Florida, Indiana and North Carolina. |
Finally, A smart REPUBLICAN!!I am not a Republican. ![]() |
No one dares to, Sensei Moremi, its very nice to see you. I don't mind people that slaughter goats and cows but can't hunt moose and baffulo (not buffalo but baffulo). How is it in Chi town? |
If I am not mistaken, ARE U NOT A CONSERVATIVE? Of course I am. I don't support either candidate but I prefer the Republican platform even though I voted Obama. |
If he wins Florida but loses Virginia, McCain needs to concede. |
Who is that talking about my Sarah? ![]() |
White people too must live with the stigma of slaveryWho sold the slaves to them and where is their conscience in all of this? |
