Politics / Re: Ohanaeze Can No Longer Guarantee Peace In The East – by NegroNtns(m): 6:45am On Mar 21, 2013 |
someone has to speak up and fight for igbo. everyone is protecting its own and i believe if ohanaeze is standing up to protect igbos children then we ought to applaud its action in this instance. it should not take ohanaeze to declare what is obvious, the northerner ought to already know that a reprisal would happen sooner or later in east. what are they doing to prevent it? it will not be the fault of ibos if indeed they go on a rampage but i will blame north for pushing them to the wall. by same token, ohanaeze ought to make declaration and hands off from ibos who stubbornly remain with their family in this terror zone. 1 Like |

Dibiachukwu: If massob are real soldiers, they would form an intelligence unit and try to infiltrate the bokos. If they cannot handle this simple information gathering exercise, how are they going to fight a war in 2015? Also bus operators should be more vigilant and employ well trained security people. ndi-Igbo in the North, live amongst yourselves. Buy a licensed gun if possible and fortify your houses. Get a dog too, to forewarn you of an imminent danger. If you live in a war zone, you might as well be prepared to defend yourself; whilst hoping for the best. All Igbo women and children should be sent back to the east. If you don't remove your children from that area; then you are a very wicked person. you see, this is what happens when people put all their money and buy land to build mansion in terror zone. ultimately you become tethered to the property and loose the freedom to leave and go where you want. ibos built up mansions that hausas will not buy if you put on market. yoruba will do owambe in another man land but good luck getting him to erect or buy a mansion anywhere outside yorubaland. so how they gonna do now? dont want to die and dont want to abandon property. this is like the story of tricking the monkey to reach inside the peanut bottle for a handful of nuts. the monkey is never letting go of that fistful of roasted peanuts, never.......not even when the trap owner arrives to cage him. |

kettykin: this is one in a series of arrests and detention so far made by OPC. they have arrested robbers, ritualists, kidnappers. they give reassurance and security in instances where police is unreliable or unavailable. i am happy to know that in yorubaland there is a deterrent against criminals. this does not eliminate crime but it serves to caution criminals. where else in nigeria do you see a grassroot organization helping fight crime? kudos to OPC, long live Yorubaland, the land of milk and honey and may GOD continue to bless my fatherland. |

DerideGull: Ndigbo have long known the conniving antics of these pajamas cowards from southwestern region of Nigeria. It is very shameful most of them appear indifference and salience to the sudden deaths of their kinsmen in northern region of Nigeria while taken to the bull horn to magnify the misfortunes of Ndigbo in northern region. nigga, shut the up! everybody in this country with any logical sense is wondering why your people are stuck in another man's land and in the face of dagger to their throat, bombs in their midst......they remain stuck. even your leader uwazuruike is baffled and he is dissapointed. now, rather than go home you fled as refugees to cameroon. its long past time we see you as victims. these are no victims of terror at all these are provocateurs of terror and i have a limited number of RIP before i myself become an RIP, so i would rather save what i have for bereavement on true victims of terror. ibos living in north are provocateurs......partners in the food chain of the predator and the prey. 1 Like |

Six okada riders are currently in the custody of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, Lagos, for their car snatching activities in the Alimosho area of Lagos State.Jude Ifeanyi, Anthony Okeke, Edechukwu Ebuka, Nwachukwu Ekene, Christian and Solomon were recently arrested at Ajao Estate, when they attempted to sell a stolen Toyota Camry to SARS operatives who were working undercover as buyers. The Camry was said to have been snatched from its owner along Oshodi/Apapa Expressway, Lagos. A total of seven cars was said to have been snatched and sold by the gang. The gang leader Ebuka claimed he resorted to car snatching as a result of the okada restriction in Lagos State. He said, "I was formerly an okada rider until the restriction came into effect. Since its enforcement, things have been difficult so I approached Okeke and told him that we needed to do something about our situation."One of Okeke's friends, an Alhaji, provided us with a locally-made gun. It was Okeke who brought in Ekene as our driver. Ifeanyi was already known to me during my time in prison and he assured us that he had ready buyers who would pay between N250,000 and N300,000 for any Toyota or Honda car we steal."Already, the suspects had successfully undertaken five operations at Ikotun, Isheri Oshun, Egbeda, Ejigbo and Igando, before their activities were cut short by SARS operatives. There was no response from the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer Ngozi Braide. She did not reply the texts or calls made to her phone. |

Politics / Massob Respond To Tension In Onitsha by NegroNtns(m): 4:40am On Mar 20, 2013 |
Leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, on Tuesday said there would be no reprisal on northerners in the South-East following Monday's bus bombing in Kano where more than 30 people were reportedly killed.Calling for calm, Uwazurike said, "We are not known for bloodletting and Ndigbo cannot be cowed into shedding blood but we want an end to this senseless bloodletting of the Igbo in the North in whatever name called."The MASSOB leader's assurance came as Hausa residents in Onitsha shut their shops and fled the city for fear of reprisals.Non-indigenes, mainly northerners, closed all their business premises at the Head Bridge Market and other parts of the city to seek protection in various security stations including the Army barracks in the city and police stations.Chairmen of Ndigbo Unity Forum and Anambra Traders' Forum, Augustine Chukwudum and Dede Uzor, condemned the attack in Kano, describing it as barbaric and threat to the country's unity. They also praised the prompt intervention of the Commander, 302 Army cantonment, Onitsha, Col, T Gagariga; Navy Commander A. Ahmed and the Onitsha Area Police Commander, Mr. Benjamin Wordu for calming the tensed situation in Onitsha.Chukwudum said, "We call on the Federal Government to declare a state of emenergency in Kano, Borno, Gombe, Yobe and Adamawa states."That is the only option left to stop these killings of Ndigbo in the northern states of Nigeria. We call on Federal Government to compensate the families of those who lost their loved ones in the attack. Let security men take full control of the situation and provide security for Ndigbo in the North." |

Politics / OPC To The North...... by NegroNtns(m): 2:23am On Mar 20, 2013 |
President and founder of Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, Dr Fredrick Fasehun who also condemned the bomb attacks said: “With the recent cold murder of several polio immunisation officials, the killing of seven foreign hostages in the region, killing of school teachers and pupils and several senseless murder, it would be difficult for any citizens from the south to venture into the far north for business opportunities. Should this orgy of violence continue, the North will be the loser, as violence will only retard development and make the zone unattractive to investors.”He warned that if the killings continue, it may reach a situation where people will not be able to travel to that part of the country. “And in reprisal, the South may create an unhealthy atmosphere for Northerners to campaign in these parts. This madness must stop. Northern politicians must lead the battle for peace in their region and put insurgents on the leash. |

Smooyis: Brothers it is very disheartening to read how negative and resentful we are towards one another. First let me seize this opportunity to condole withthe igbos for the loss of their kinsmen in Kano and North generally in the hands of devilish Boko Haram. Pls dont be offended by the response of some of our Yoruba brothers on these issues. They do not represent the opinons of all of us. I do believe Majority of BH victims are igbos and as such are bound to react towards it. Lets not deceive ourselves, war is not the solution towards this crisis. It is a pity that a big country like Nigeria with all the huge funds voted for security cannot infiltrate the Boko Haram camp. This battle cannot be won through fire for fire, but through information. The government should device means of getting to the root of this Boko menace and should spare no one in connection with it. my friend, ralph uwazuruike, the leader and voice of ndigbo himself said he is "dissapointed in his people in the north", he sent buses at last massacre to bring them home and they turned it down., preferring to remain in hausaland than return to iboland. i used to come in and mourn with them to wish a rip to the victims.......over and over, how many rip does it take for ibo to understand that these people are surveiling them and looking to cause the most devastation possible with one attack? hausa said he doesnt want you on the land, ibo respond and say constitution give him right to be anywhere. where is the constitution now to protect his right to life? he is dead and the constitution has not changed....... nigerian constitution is an abstract, it serves no one's practical needs. |

kettykin: long before ibo knew what secession is about, a Yoruba General by the name Afonja planned and executed a successful secession. That secession backfired on him resulting in coup but he did not flee....he stood his ground and fought to death. The land on which he planned to establish his republic was eventually freed from under Oyo and that land today is Ilorin. In the history of secession in this country Afinja will always be in the history books as a brave warrior but nonetheless despised for the loss of Ilorin. His successor ended up liberating Ilorin but then Oyo followed up and regained Ilorin and chased fulani out. Two lessons for you to learn from Afonja story. 1. Yoruba Generals dont turn their back in a conflict and they dont hide in secret locations evading the enemy.....they stand and face consequence of their action. ibo cannot say the same of your Generals. 2. If fulani had swept eastward the way they did with hausa and nupe, and reached iboland there would be nothing left called ibo today. you are lucky Yoruba stopped and pushed back on fulani southward invasion. because of Yoruba you survived the thrust of fulani conquest into the forest. add to the history of alaigbo. 4 Likes |

Aringarosa: mothrfvkr, truth hurts! if this was any other tribe that has been the target of massacre in the north since 1950s till date, they would have sensibly relocated or cut their presence in north down significantly and used contingencies for preventing a yearly assault. .....its terrible to be a flat head in a nation where everyone else's head is round and contains matter put there for thinking and reasoning. yoruba would have cut its footprint down, edo would have reduced its presence significantly, ijaw would have left long ago and return to its waters, efik would fund another land to do business in peace. in fact, reverse scenario ......what does hausa do when it gets hot in the south? they are loaded into the first trailer at dawn and rolled out heading north. ....ibo need a new head, a round one! |

Ptimes: The Boko Haram sect, in a new video on Monday, said they would not release the seven French nationals in their custody unless the governments of Nigeria and Cameroon release imprisoned members of their sect. lmao! these people are not talking like terrorists. they speak with assuredness and confidence. doesn't the army have helicopter gun ships and missile launchers? when a ordinary corporal in the army is insulted on the streets they go to barracks and bring back a truckload of boots and guns and whip to teach lesson and restore respect. here is boko insulting an executive officer, a lt. col., they ought to invade boko from the air with missiles. |

Ile-Ife: i will usually refrain from muslim/christian issues but it seems odd to me that islam is blamed for a trait that is common in all of humanity regardless of creed or belief. for over 200yrs American Christians lynched, castrated, raped, sold, murdered, ....burnt, bombed, attacked with dogs, beheaded black Christians in their own country and in fact denied them access in white Church or place of dining and killed any black man who so much as locked eye with a white girl. Germany, in the name of Christianity, methodically wiped out a part of humanity. Nigerian 419 scammers (Christians) ruined Nigerian image all over the globe in greed for money. Many of their victims were fellow Christians. Some victims actually commited suicide after loosing their children college savings. What was Iraq's crime that the evangelist crusader Gorge Bush had to invent a lie to go in there and ruin the nation and the people? Look at how many countries in that zone are today destabilized by that single intrusion? Hutu against Tutsi, was islam involved? bloodletting is a general human trait and has nothing to do with religion. stop insulting islam for the atrocities of bad and dangerous people. people are blaming islam for atrocities in mali, but there were far worse atrocities in liberia and none of the factions was fughting for islam.....they were Christians. relate intelligently to the scenario on ground and stop sentiments. bokoharam has threatened emir of kano, threatened sultan. they ambushed and almost kill bayero recently. they have killed two traditional rulers in a village in borno and even threatened some muslim clerics. how is that islam? 3 Likes |
