1) Blame Obama for people seeing him as their messiahKobo, you dont have to be apologetic for that, neither do you have to defend your position and if you didnt say it, heck Im saying it, now! Obama sees himself as a messiah and black americans see him as a messiah. Now what?? |
@ post, You are correct about his condescending attitude. He is yet to win the election but is already declaring himself "arrogantly" as the C-in-C; I reserve the right as president of the United States to meet with anyone at the time and place of my choosing if I think it's going to keep the American people safeWhattt!!! On a different issue, have you all heard the rumor circulating about electoral votes? |
Cayon, I understand. Please don't say it here. Many a times Ive had to bite me tongue as well to keep from saying things that might hurt emotions, even though it is the truth. Keep it within you but if it happens that you are looking for a dialogue on the subject to gain understanding, then please feel free to email me. My addess is in my profile. |
BigB, Take Obama with you out the door, . . ![]() |
Thanks for your in-depth analysis. You sound like Obama - all talk and analysis, no action. You said it should be about issues. Point to one issue that you logically explored in your post. The bottom line of this election is one: with all the possible reasons why McCain should not be elected, why is he Obama running a tie poll in public opinion. I know you will say Palin. McCain brought her in for votes. Do you know what that is called? COMPETENCY. If you run an organization you are expected to reinvent and recreate opportunities that will make you stay competitive. If you cannot stay competitive then you ought to be fired for incompetence! McCain is competent! We need competent leader to run the nation. Obama had the opportunity with Hillary, he failed to demonstrate competency and look where it has got him _ fighting and straining to stay ahead of McCain. Whats the use of your analysis if it cannot be executed for measurable results in opinion poll. You democrats are worthless and thats why you are going to loose this election. ![]() |
Thats not news! Thats what the heck he is supposed to do, lead McCain by at least 20points. It is news when they tie or he falls behind. ![]() |
BigB, Its called suck up . . . or kiss-ass. . . muuh muuh! Those are people hoping to get a contract deal on her wardrobe. Read and notice how they described her but yet failed to put her picture on front cover. They are doing lip service in hope they will be invited to take her measurements and start designing her outfits and who knows, if she did become First Lady, then their ambition could bounce from just mere speculation to lucrative business. BigB, you used to post well thought out contributions. Now you just spew out stuffs that don't have head or tail. What happened, is Palin's political rise stressing you out? Calm down my brother, another four years will be here soon for Democrats to try again. |
I hate to bust your bubble, but "as a black woman from Africa, you're better off with a black man in the whitehouse" A white woman in the whitehouse wouldn't do you any good.BigB, are you serious? A black man that has not visited with his American kinfolk in their hood and campaigned in their midst is going to benefit a Nigerian woman. He ran from his black pastor of 20yrs for political ambition. Obama double crossed the woman in Chicago that sponsored him for the Illinois state senate. They say blood is thicker than water. Obama does not recognize blood when it comes to his ambition. He has continously said he is not running a black campaign. Here you are saying he is better for us because he is black. How black is he? Is he black in his consciousness or is he just a demographic label? |
Cayon, Yes, you are correct in your observation. Let me ask you this, 1. what is your understanding of the white race? 2. What is your understanding of the black race? |
Lol. Are you asking if he is right in his morals to create such an inhumane agenda that over the years has become a policy and is still being implemented till today; or are you asking if the agenda has turned out be a practical fact? Please clarify. Also let me say thank you for opening the discussion. As we continue this discussion I am sure those of us Africans will begin to see see Black Americans in a totally different way that they have not been known before. |
@POST, I don't know where you live guy but there is a dude here in America by name Hugh Hefner. Mr Hefner does worse things to women, virgin or no virgin than you describe here. Beside Hefner, there are numerous pimps. They are all celebrated and glorified for their accomplishments. Women love them, men adore them, rappers emulate their styles. Now, what did you say the King did wrong? |
hmm, all these talk about food and dishes, . . I dont see any steam in the kitchen, I need some action on the stove. Im hungry, can you all cook some food for me to eat? ![]() |
we work hard here discussing issueslmao Yeah we get passionate about issues and fire at each other. I don't know about work hard, sounds like you are about to get hired again. |

All this yak about who votes and who doesnt vote and all that is nonsenase. I want any democrat to defend why, for God's sake, . why Obama is tied with McCain in public opinion with an unpopular party in white house? |
This is correct; in-fact, I believe this is exactly the trick strategy republicans are cooking; but it shalllll backfireIt is evident that Dems are getting the point here. Now, what are you going to do about it? |
. . .and, I think I forgot to mention that Americans are big sports fans and they root for winning teams. Obama was dismissed until he won Iowa from Hillary. Then on super Tuesday he swept the primaries and the Super Delegates did what? , they shifted from Hillary to Obama. McCain was dismissed as a loser and was expected to pack up until he won S. Carolina. He swept super Tuesday and what did the other candidates do? , they dropped off! Watch out Obamaniacs, watch the polls and pay attention. Obama must not let McCain lead him by more than 5 points or the people will start moving sides in large numbers. Trust me!! |
Look, all this yak-yak-yak about McCain/Palin, in American Politics its not your truth that gets you in White House, its your emotional connection to the people that vote. If it was the truth Bill Clinton should have never won in 92 and served two terms. Bush should have never won in 2000 and served two terms. It was not the truth that elected Obama to senate, if he had stayed strictly ethical he would never have won the senate seat in 06. Obama set himself up. He spent just one year in congress and decided to go on a crusade of "change" without understanding how to drive the action of change to working class and small town constituents. He created the message and locked himself into it, now its hard to separate and do what a politician must do to win election and stay elected. The American public know all that stuff you quote about Palin. That's why they love her even more, the controversy. These are people that stay glued to tv watching controversy and bitterness all day long, chewing, drinking and getting obese. Palin reality tv. Accept it and deal with it. With all these liabilities you listed, why is Obama not ahead of McCain in polls? Obama has no liability, should he not be leading by at least 20points? The more you get defensive and focus on Palin, which is what the Repubs want you to do, the deeper they penetrate your constituents. Wonder what Obama is not doing right. Vent at Obama. Lol |
it will be sad if Obama does not win.Obama is currently running a "Bridge to Nowhere" campaign. It will be sad if he does not change strategy. He should put away his academic hat and stop appealing to logic, wear the political hat and start arousing emotions. I am seeing that MC is lying most of the time.Don't blame McCain for not discussing the issues. Blame tv for turning America into a dummy nation. . . . . but why are americans not seeing it?They do. . . right here, After so many years on the tv watching soap operas, realTV, Jerry Springer, Maury Povich, Road Rules, Entertainment channel, Gossip news and papers and all other sleazy labeled programming, this is what American society has become - core issues focusing on practical day to day aspects of life are not appealing anymore. To give your campaign a popular appeal, you inject it with scenarios that mimic what people are accustomed to seeing on the tube - drama, serial epics, suspense, bravado, lies, revelations, and so on, |
If I was Obama, I would go and find an old video of McCain declaring his anti-regulation views and air it on live TV.What makes you think he doesn't already have it? The question is not what he has but the negative impact rebounding back to hit his own camp. |
After so many years on the tv watching soap operas, realTV, Jerry Springer, Maury Povich, Road Rules, Entertainment channel, Gossip news and papers and all other sleazy labeled programming, this is what American society has become - core issues focusing on practical day to day aspects of life are not appealing anymore. To give your campaign a popular appeal, you inject it with scenarios that mimic what people are accustomed to seeing on the tube - drama, serial epics, suspense, bravado, lies, revelations, and so on, Republicans use feedback from focus groups and psychologists to manuver their campaign. Between when Palin was introduced and today, McCain has changed his style of campaigning three times already. 1. He agreed not to use negative ad and when that appeared to be too dry, he switched and started using them. He was scolding local and state chairmen for attacking Obama, now they are not restrained from lying, even when they know their statements is contrary to facts, they release it to the airwaves anyway. 2. Notice how at every campaign rally the spouses are standing immediately behind. Face time with America. They want to force Mitchell Obama and Jill Biden to come out and face the camera. 3. He is taking the back stage and giving Sarah a lot of face time with the public. Palin is the glamorous star, the celebrity that paparazzi swarm over to get her shots and gossip about her the next day in news prints. It is effective and McCain campaign is going to stick with that tone through election day. If no one is fishing for gossip about her, expect the campaign to manufacture one and throw it out there for consumption. Don't blame McCain for not discussing the issues. Blame tv for turning America into a dummy nation. |
Omoge & Kobo, You are correct. There is a time threshold of three weeks - 21days, beyond which the fate is sealed and any change in the campaign strategy will not matter; barring a major disclosure or revelation on either of the candidates that shocks the morals. Hillary can save him but Obama's followers whether in the media, on the blogs or online bulletins are still spewing venom and insults at her and sending their bad feelings in email to those that worked for her. Hard as she would love to rally support behind him, Obama, DNC and some super delegates have done some irreparable damage and though she may forgive, I am not sure she is forgetting. If Obama is who everyone want in that seat, well Hillary had moved to the side for him to assume position. If he cannot go it alone without Hillary behind him, then that's a clear conclusion that she, not him should have been the DNC candidate, and if that was discounted on the point that the people made their choice in Obama, then Obama, knowing her value to his campaign, should have made the right decision and chosed her, not Biden. Biden is a quitter when he faces intense opposition. He ran and won Senate and was going to quit after his family loss. I gues he can be excused for that. Okay, twice he ran the Presidential race and each time he quitted when he encountered obstacles. Hillary on the other hand never quits, you have to forcefully remove her. Who, in your opinion, is more qualified to be his VP? Biden was praised for his foreign relations experience. Heck, get him to be your Secretary of State, not your VP. |
WORD OF ADVISE :: IF you have 401k in a money money market account or if you are participating in a company vested account with matching funds, get with your account manager and review your standing balance. Obtain a performance sheet going back three years and see what you are worth today. If you can, invest it in FOREX or FEATURES, even GOLD. Take your money away from market speculation and put it in tangibles right away. Another you could do, use the money to purchase high valued art or works of craftmanship, heirlooms and stuffs like that that you could reconvert later on for profit when the economy recovers. I am not your financial adviser, this is just a friendly heads up. Consult your financial adviser for tax liabilities. It is 10% on Federal on 401k and then a 20% penalty for early withdrawal, depending on the way you had it secured and also, how you get it out. You can also convert it to educational fund for your children. Get hold of your life savings and act right now, Trust me!!! |
According to the news, at the end of August, Obama had raised $66m in contributions. His opponent raised $47m at the end of that month. Obama has consistently outperformed his opponents in campaign contributions, first in the primary and now in general election. He has broken record and this adds to the many other records he has shattered in this election season. He has supporters across a broad spectrum of demographics. He has only made one appearance internationally and already commands favorable following and support. Although, caution must be exercised when listing or mentioning his international fame. Its negative connotation outweighs its usefulness in the record books. Obama, effortlessly, has charmed the media onto his side as well. In contrast, his opponent, John McCain, has far many attributes that make him unacceptable. He is perceived as too intimately connected with George Bush as well as old Washington; two establishments that the electrorate wants to dump. For the Commander in Chief, decision making is very critical, the buck stops at his desk. In fact, beside ceremonial presence, the fundamental duty of the President is deciding where he wants to take the country. His decisions are then worded into policies. If he makes a wrong decision at a vritical moment, the most unexpected can happen. As at today, there are 47 days left to election day and the less favorable candidate is ahead of the record breaking candidate and all because of one critical decision; the choice of a VP. Hillary Clinton or no Hillary Clinton. He allowed sentiments to control his decision. When Obama had the opportunity to make a home run, he fumbled the pass. Its now 15mins injury time, no time -out left, the opponent is ahead on the scoreboard and this game will determine who is the superbowl champion. In just 47 days of campaigning, how can Obama beat the opponent? Without an HailMary, he can hang his helmet! This is evidence enough for the capabilities that each candidate posess in becoming the President and making the right decision for the country? Commander in Chiefs have many adversaries in the world and they must work in cooperation with them to draw and sign agreements and treaties that promote American interest. Logic, not sentiments, are needed in sustaining those delicate relationships. Obama is currently running a "Bridge to Nowhere" campaign. He must not tarry too long or he will break another record; "the most resourceful candidate to ever lose a general election". |
Woo woo, Darfur, calm down. This is political campaing not academic faculty. Professor Obama should take his academic hat off and put on his political hat. Once he does that, he will soon realize that in a political campaign the end goal is to improve your acceptability and diminish your liabilities. By using that attack, McCain camp are not going to respond with the word 'computer', NO. They are going to use the powerful keyword 'illiterate' to arouse sentiments against Obama. That's a liability. This is no joke, this guy have 7 weeks left. You keep saying he does not have to win. I'm not sure you understand what's at stake here. His winning is symbolic for both whites and blacks. For whites in the sense that he will be under pressure to address and fix the issue of reparation once and for all, as well as affirmative action. He already against affirmative action. So he is the sacrificial lamb here for those social credits that whites owe to blacks but have failed to address satisfactorily. After his term in office, no black will henceforth have the voice to question why a white president failed to resolve that inequity. Cus they will point finger at one of their own, Obama. For blacks, beside being a historical milestone, no one can articulate for you why they want him to win. Bottom line, he needs to stop hanging himself and I'm beginning to wonder, what's Biden doing allowing Obama to do damage to the ticket? Beside foreign affairs, what good is Biden domestically? I have never seen a VP tell a crowd at a political rally that somebody else was better qualified than them in the job. That was a doofus statement. |
Portraying him as illiterate will only endear those small town American folks to him. That will make Republicans bounce back and counter attack by saying computer is not a family value. And by attacking McCain's illiteracy in technology, he is out of touch with American values. |
Negro, this your insult don too much o!Ibime, Im sorry my brother. Its not intended o. Sometimes in the heat of discussion we get caught in personal insults but you know me, I stay away from cussing and all that. No doubt 4Play is insightful and articulate, yes I agree. I think Yemmyyse only listed people she interact with on a frequently basis. How could you leave out Pasto AIO, Huxley,, amongst others. |
I hear Obama camp is mum over the Palin interview. Thank God, Democrats are finally learning to smell traps and sidestep it with no fatality. For this evasive move, I'm going to advance a Pawn for Obama, against McCain's Knight on the Palin choice. |
They simply cannot lose, because they know the government whether Democrat or Republican will not allow them to fold. You are doggone right man, no doubt. There is a template. An old man ate a loaf of bread that he bought at a neighborhood store. The coroner found out the bread was poisoned. So they went to the storekeeper, who pointed finger at the bakery. They asked the baker, who said it probably came from the flour. So they went asked the miller, he said they should check with the wheat farmer. Before that day ended, police had arrested the man's wife. Next day and the one after that and the one next to that, the coroner was busy like he never had been before, men, women, children dying from bread poisoning. The police cells were getting crowded too; husbands, wives, parents. This is the template of American politics. The Enterprise is generous and compassionate in the delivery of service and products to the consumer. If there is a problem somewhere along the supply chain, it must be that the consumer is getting cunny and therefore some laws need to be enacted that will protect the Enterprise from the consumer greed. It is Republican hypocrisy that grates me more than anything. What Republicans lack in public administration they have in political manuevering. They don't know how to apply political principles to win elections but they have mastered the tactic of elimination. They are damn good at eliminating their opponent at whatever cost, including convincing the opponent to lose faith in his own ability and credentials for the job position and thereby self-defeating his/her own chances. They know how to deliver tangibles where it matters most, sometimes those tangibles can be very bad. You can see this in Nixon ending negatively and then Ford also ending negatively but then Reagan and Bush I did very well but look at Bush II, . . |
Yes - and you would expect an aspiring VP to know the foreign policy of the previous government. which funny enough is the same party she is campaigning under. Bush is the defacto head of the Republican party, you can't be the VP nominee and have no idea what policy your party head is running.Palin knows the policy. It is the term _Bush Doctrine_ that threw her off. If she had been asked "what was Bush's principle for attacking Iraq"? She would have answered correctly that the government perceived an imminent threat from Iraq and so we preemptively attacked. As would most people, the term doctrine is leading you to think of a theory or principle of knowledge; which in this case is nothing more than a mere policy of one administration. The doctrine is not a party platform agenda. It is a neocon agenda lifted directly from their manifesto written in a publication titled "The New American Century". Although the Pentagon has always reserved the right to employ it if necessary in a military threat. The interviewer ought to be censored. This is like asking an aspiring rapper, do you know the Jayzee doctrine, as opposed to do you know Jayzee's style of rap? lol, Ibime, I love Karl Rove. I love him for his strategic maneuvering, his mental game and the way he always have the Democrats befuddled even in their own moves. I had a good time in 04 watching him cripple their strong stance against Bush. Kerry camp will come up with a strong and viable idea and Karl will twist it as a bad idea. Next thing you know, the Democrats are shying away from their own idea. Then he will hijack it and reformulate it and present it as Bush stance against Kerry. That will infuriate the Dems and they will cry foul! Oh my!! The same pattern all over again in 08 with McCain and Obama. I am not Republican, you are right. I am not Democrat either. I have favorites in both parties but my priority is the platform agenda. What is it that a party is proposing and how capable are they to implement it given their past performances with similar proposals. Politicians are liars and unreliable but somehow somewhere they get some things done that are tangible and effective for the bottom line. This year, the Republicans have that appeal. |
