Katsumoto: there is no field more accomodating of competition and elimination than in politics......particularly with the constant scrutiny and worship by the media. if you cross them over and bring these political leaders into industries they will perform well. they have layers of checks and balances and accountability is hands-on. if you take the industrial leaders and put them in political office they will fail. the layers of checks and balances in government is refined on paper but very loose and has no teeth in practice......it is hands-off approach. thats not an attribute of poor educatiin. |

....here we go, it's another rainy season starting the igbo paranoia with "victimization" syndrome is about to start with it. ....from now until they hold new yam festival we will hear whines of hatred plots to wipe igbo out Ohaneze is the apex igbo socio-political authority worldwide. The presidency has advisers of igbo blood. There are igbo people in the cabinet of this president. Igbos are represented in the senate and house. So the youth wing of the body that is the voice and face of igbo worldwide has been invited by presidential adviser reuben abati and none of the igbo government officials are involved in the coordination? Why did these youths not contact ahead and inform their constituency leaders in Abuja of the invitation and ask for liaisons and guides to facilitate a successful meeting for them? |

Fhemmmy: In absolute terms, the answer is broad. To stay within topic i will narrow it down and say Fashola made the cimment in context of academic scholarship; by which he meant if our leaders had sound "academic training" the Nigerian political situation would be better evolved and prospered. In the financial sector our leaders are doing good. In the industrial and services sector our leaders are doing good and so in the telecomms sector. The people that lead these sectors of our general economy sat in the same classroom and received the same tutoring as our leaders in politics. Si what's the differentiator, why is one side performing and the side is failing? Zero accountability! Indiscipline!! Poor judgement!!! If our political office holders have something to loose the instinct to self-preserve will stimulate them to serve us in faith......as it stands they have everything to gain and nothing to lose. |

Politics / Re: Fashola Puts Country’s Woes On Leaders’ Poor Education by NegroNtns(m): 3:05am On Apr 15, 2013 |
I disagree. Poor judgement and lack of vision is the root of our endemic poor leadership, not poor education. Nigerian leaders received far better education than the leaders in say, Tanzania or Zambia or Niger. Thos three countries perform far better for their people and their countries. 3 Likes |

confusion247: Ohaneze is confused and unreliable. Igbos Ndo nu Guy, no mind dem... ABUJA — The President-General of Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo, the apex social-cultural cum political body of Igbo people world over, Chief Gary Enwo- Igariwe, has said that the position of the group on the proposed amnesty for Boko Haram Islamic sect by the Federal Government in Kano State last week was wrongly presented in the media, saying the option of amnesty was treated in isolation. Speaking with Vanguard Sunday, Chief Igariwe regretted the embarrassment the issue had caused him, pointing out that the group’s position was that Ohanaeze would support any option of the Federal Government to bring lasting peace in the country to guarantee a healthy atmosphere for economic activities. His words: “The statement on amnesty should not be taken in isolation. What was on ground was the issue of anything that can be done to bring peace because our people want to live in peace in their environment, everything, including every option of government. That was my statement. Igbo will support anything that will bring peace.” ....so why the re-dedication of loyalty and peace to Kwankwaso and Bayero They did same thing during Ladipo stalemate bringing Rochas and an Eze in tow to dedicate peace to Fashola in Lagos. Everyone wants peace but I dont see Yoruba leaders, with their Oba in tow, going North or East to dedicate peace and tribute and neither is North going West or East. So why are Ibos doing this? Tell your Ohanaeze and Massob to stop this nonsense. Hausa should be coming with their Sarki to your land to beg forgivenes...not the other way around. stoopid COWARDS!!! 5 Likes |

ndu_chucks: first, who determines what weapon is illegal? see picture of OPC on a parade. after this event in public witnessed by all the law agencies and statutory authorities the question of legality should have been raised if indeed there existed a conflict or violation. it is on record no sanctions, arrests, warnings, raid or prohibitions were issued against OPC. it cannot be said that these agencies and authorities are ineffective in interpreting the law because we are always reminded of that in the way they raid, arrest, prohibit and sanction massob in SE and everything remotely connected with group meetings or street protest or parade is closely watched and surveilled for illegality and crime. Going by number of arrests, lockups, seizures in SE, it is fair to say these law and security agencies are competent in interpreting "legality". massob is not within legality. that rule does not apply to OPC. moreover, we have also witnessdd on numerous occassions where OPC had mounted surveillance on suspected activities and through proaction of its involvement criminals have been arrested, in some cases crimes were even prevented. OPC is a detterent force and a response force as well when required. Their formations is structured after the old Oyo Force, with a front deployment and a reserve squad. The community vigilante work has produced commendable results and the backing of community leaders is a testimony to that. Their work is also recognized and acknowledged by DAWN and Afenifere. any other question?

ndiofeajoka: I strongly urge the North not to leave their slaves behind when they leave, because I don't trust those red eye ibos and ijaws in Onitsha. everytime ibo elders hold conference on ibo future where di they meet at? they meet in yorubaland. when hausa chase your brothers from north where they run to? to yorubaland. ibo currently exist in name only. your political future is ruined, your homeland is ruined, your women are marrying other tribes and finding a new future for their children, your biafra is ruined, ......pretty soon the ibo tribe will be history, on paper only! you see it happening alresdy.....your brothers prefer to die in hausaland than go home...the ones in lagos will endure humiliation and abuse just to belong in yorubaland - see picture. the ones in north are supporting and carrying flag for your oppressors just so they are spared from deportation - see picture. ijaw has overtaken you and are stepping over your head with political insults and indifference. the whole land has rejected you, everybody is fvking over you....but yet you keep latching on to this abstract thinking that you are brave. show us the braveness for once and give a resolute response to your oppressors in north......or better yet, raise a finger of rebellion in West. Do something for once....for once, to give action to this empty cry of bravery. pack of COWARDS!! 1 Like

ndiofeajoka: Following the threats made by northern leaders yesterday about their readiness to break up, Afenifere Leader, Dr. Reuben Fasoranti, has cautioned the Northern leaders against their threat that the North is not afraid of the breaking of Nigeria. is this what you interprete as cowardice? would you like to see what cowardice is? cowardice is when you are bullied repeatedly and instead of fighting back to defend yourself you impotently submit to the intimidation and brutality from your oppressor. would you like to see an example? respond for yes remain silent for no |

@topic God forbid that Yoruba should camp tent with an IMPOTENT, COWARD tribe. the civil war was an opportunity for ibo to face off with its oppressor, instead of heading north to the enemy territory where they were massacred they headed west and south, first planting a biafran flag in ijaw/ogoni land, then erecting another in midwest complete with a new ruler of ibo extraction. Were they really interested in ending their oppression and massacre in north or were they greedily seeking to occupy and own lands they have coveted for decades? They sabotaged their own cause. Yoruba cannot afford to be on battlefield with these saboteurs. pack of EFFEMINATE COWARDS!! 4 Likes |

SmartTalk: Special mention should be made of Wole Soyinka and Tai Solarin who stood for what is right and were jailed for it. While all around them - relatives and friends - blindly supported genocide, and still do, they spoke up against evil. God bless them. A memorial must be created for them in the Biafran relm after the demise of Nigeria. add Victor Banjo there. Plenty Yoruba struggled so you can be freed from your oppressors. You fvkd up when instead of heading north to fight your oppressor you headed west to fight a friend, ended up with a new enemy and the demolition of biafra. 4 Likes |

Billyonaire: Thats theory, come down to the practical. Its not enough to study reverse psychology. Come and stop a c4 laden car driven by a suicide bomber at 100Km/Hr! whats the cost if a suicide bomber hits, say Eko bridge during rush hour? "massive"! whats the cost if a helicopter retrofitted with missile hits, say ....the boko haram enclave, wiping out their entire households? "massive"! the problem with you guys is you are afraid the international media will label your action and judge your morals for wiping out 500,000 in reprisal for just 50. Yoruba does not think like that. If a persin is capable of killing 50 of you he will double, triple that, plus more, if he had a single shot to do so. When you get the single shot opportunity to erase his ancestry and progeny on earth....press the button and ask God for forgiveness later. |

manny4life: but they have plenty to loose and they are just as vulnerable as anyone else. what they do is study the vulnerability of their opponent and attack it. you study their vulnerability as well and you exploit it. there is no group , however deadly or dangerous and tenacious that does not have a vulnerability point.......a point of least resistance! you must study it, surveil it, recreate it, and device a control mechanism for it. |
