lol, that pager was my first Blackberry device, this where they started before making phones. That is the RIM 950. |
I used to love nothing but Nokia but then I bought a Blackberry 8800 and I have never looked back since. Enjoy the pictures and demos below from RIM. , on 9/11, the telecomm network in the North East sector of USA was jammed and most phones were not able to access the network. Blackberries were the only exception. Blackberrr owners were able to send what they call peer-peer messaging (PIN messaging). In a crisis you can always count on your Blackberry to have access to the network. I currently own a Blackberry curve. http://www.blackberry8800series.com/ http://www.blackberrypearl.com/ http://www.blackberrycurve.com/

To get the settings look on page 10 of the thread https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-104224.0.html Info gave a nice chronological step for it. |
True. you need the DUN settings. T |
Dual, how u dey? I think I found that post early hours this morning before I left home and I have asked Marc to clarify what exactly he is trying to do. If you see am tell am come here. There are three activations possible in a blackberry 1. RIM registration 2. Telecomms Carrier activation 3. ISP synchronization This might sound silly but it is true, I have seen people that buy expensive phone and never activate service on it. Blackberry is capable of supporting multiple type of needs, including the crazy one I just mentioned. So worst case scenario, you can do without 2 and 3 but nobody will ever use a blackberry without satisfying 1. It is impossible in any case scenario to bypass 1. Which one/s is he trying to do? |
Toyin and Jenny, we men no get palava o. But when we siddon jeje woman go bring im palava come find us trouble |

Hi Guys please i would like to know if it is possible to get the phone number a person is using if the IMEI number of the phone, and the network operator is known. While i was asking customer care for my gprs and mms settings for MTN, before i could say the model of the phone i'm using, they could tell. My guess is that they knew it from the IMEI number since it uniquely identifies any mobile device on a network. Does any one know how this is achieved or if it is possible. Thanks. Two things, Is it possible to tell my phone number merely by knowing my IMEI and carrier ID? Yes it is possible and no it is not. This is a trick question. I said no because IMEI - International Mobile Equipment Identifier - is a phone identifier code, it is independent of the phone subscriber. I said yes because when you make a phone call with that phone then you leave a footprint in the switch that ties various things together the phone you called from; the phone you called to; your location; the location of the other person; your phone number; the phone number of the other person; the time the call began; the time the call ended, and if it is text, mms or email, then the content of the message is also tracked. What gives your identity away is truly your sim card. It is easy to catch a criminal that is using a sim based technology phone. Very very easy, you no even need a detective for that. To catch a criminal using a analog legacy phone you need all kind of gadgets and signal readers and pray that there are no frequency inteference around to shield him from your detection. |
Hansi, I am not sure that showskills is looking for application courier. He is asking for software for bluetooth. Tobs, you are correct. There is no commercially available software for bluetooth. The question will be like asking someone if they have software for GSM. Bluetooth is a technology, not a program. |
Mark, As you know technical questions require clarity in order to deliver a practical solution. i newly bought blackberry.,., 216 blackberry care center ask me to pay 5000 naira for MTN blackberry activation fee and 5000 bus every months i try configuring it by myself.but i can't i need help i only sup the TLC setting thats only opens MTN homepage but can not open other sites any ideal? What were you trying to configure? What do you want your bberry to do? Clarify for me in my Blackberry Resource room. Nna bring my palmwine oo |
Boris, Drag gave you the best path to use. In fact he gave you everything you will need to connect and browse. There is a missing link. I will tell you what it is. When you bought your bberry there is a disc that came with it. That disc should be installed on your computer. It is called desktop manager. When you finish installing please come back for more instructions to get you connected. When you return I have a Blackberry resource room opened to support folks like yourself. Come in there and see me. There is a service charge of 5 bottles of palmwine. If you fail to deliver my 5 bottles you and I no go see eye to eye o. |
Fada, if that offered solution did not work try this 1. type in the last 4 digit of your phone number. if that no work, 2. type in 0000. if dat no work try 3 1111 try different things. If nothing works at all try master reset on it. But word of caution master reset deletes all your saved info. |
lol, una go make Mac slam dat pc against wall oo, Mac, I hope say u done fix the problem. I come late i for done help so you no go kuku vex come give up and smoke the computer. These guys are very helpful but you were in the wrong corner. Anyhow, next time e happen try this workaround. It is called safe mode startup. 1. Make you repeatedly dey press the F8 key until the Advanced Boot Options screen appear. (If the Windows logo appears, reboot and try again. To reboot, turn power off and back on) 2. Advanced Boot go bring up startup options 3. Select Safe Mode and press Enter Let us know if it worked. |
Drag, how u dey man? You and info dey get killed here well well. Good for una. See make u no vex o say i no give you props earlier. Give me ya email make i send you wetin i send infobaba. Since na you two dey carry this site me I no go interfer at all. I go go set up shop for to help Blackberry people ova dere. My hats off to you guys ![]() Arsenal, you said you want to restore it to factory settings. Becareful, be very very very very careful. I dont know how much you spent buying that phone, I work on thos phones and trust me if you bought yours with the proprietary firmware unlocked from a vendor then you should not do master reset it on it. I said that because when you perform master reset then the firmware lock will be also be restored, therefore locking you out. To get back working you will need to plug into itune and go through activation again. Like I say becareful. If you bought it with the lock code intact then you have no problem, go ahead and master reset and then plug it into itune for re-activation. |
Besto, If you can't browse but you are connected, then you are in the network. The problem is not with the carrier at that point. What browser u get? IE? |
Its on the way, it will come handy for the good job you dey do here ma broder. God Bless. |
Info , I see you keep busy in here. You are doing an excellent job. I learnt some things from an earlier post you had. It was the missing link for something I have been trying to do and I came here and saw it and Im like oohhhhlala, . I have some AT commands to send you. They are indispendable for people that will love to make their phone and computer do various magic things or even for other reasons that I'd prefer not to mention in a public forum like this. They are good for GSM phones. Excellent for configuring different phones for tethering. Give me email address to send to. |
You will see three icons - computer, who and network. The computer and network will open but not the who icon. The simulator is work in progress, not too much should be expected, it is not currently deployed to handle network connectivity. Its ability to run stand alone applications is also limited. As you can see it is labeled "Alpha". The "Beta" version would have enhancements. Here is the link again, http://www.vistasimulator.com/ |
Great! |
Microsoft send me beta sample of their OS as well as new concepts in the Microsoft Office suite. There is a hype that everything microsoft is reliable, I found out the hard way with windows nt upgrade on a server. I will never make that mistake again. If you recall, it took XP sp2 release to fix the bugs in XP sp1. I nearly lost my computer and server. I did a test drive on Vista and turned my back on it. I am still on XP sp2. I use the vista desktop on my phone nonetheless _it is not active as a program application, just a java laced interface, das all. Some upgrades are irreversible, i hope thats' not the case with yours. If you still have your XP disc and registration number, you can remove the vista and reload XP but you will loose data when you clean memory. But you already know this. Good luck! |
Infobaba, I got a vista simulator for you to use on your xp. http://www.vistasimulator.com/ Click on the Windows Vista logo. |

Want to explore Blackberry? Go here, http://www.blackberry.com/ I have owned and used four RIM products so far, a pager and three phones, 1. RIM pager 2. Blackberry 8800 3. Blackberry 8100 (Pearl) 4. Blackberry 8300 (Curve) I plan on upgrading to the new one to be launched in fall, The Blackberry Bold. My experience and knowledge of RIM devices is deep. I ought to charge you for this service but you be my people, instead of money I go take 5 bottles of palmwine each time you transact business here. E no matter if you finish one question and go out and step right back in for another help, heheh, another 5 bottles! |
Dual Core, do me a favor. Since you are familiar with the post and the subject can you please refer the enquirer here to this thread. Outside of that you could also go find the post, copy it and paste here. I will try my best to find answer for him. Thanks. |
Here is your Blackberry resource. If you have a question on blackberry device, any model inbetween the 5810 to the 8310 (curve), ask me. I will try my best to solve it for you. Posts only, no email on this topic please. If you emailed me it had better be on romantic interests, ![]() |
Akynojo, Elaborate more on the iphone, such as where it was bought and who the carrier is; do you show the safari browser on it or not; does it have EDGE/GSM network access All these factors will determine your capability to use it. Remember, only Apple has access to the phone's motherboard. Only AT&T is so far is authorized to sell and service it. So if you bought it from a third vendor, which is possible, then it means it has unauthorized accessibility. In which case the full proprietary functionalities of the iphone may be unavailable to you. Give more info and we can help you. |
