Akosbaba: Truth hurts
Well, maybe the writer added spice to her perception of my country but the truth remains that only few countries can compete with the level of fraud in 9ja.That is not to say there are no good nigerians working hard legitimately, home and abroad to make ends meet. They're just blind to 1 thing which i'm proud of as a nigerian; we are smart! It wont be an exaggeration to say 9ja has d largest concentratn of smart people around d world.they know this and they wish it wasnt so.It's only unfortunate dt most of our brothers and sisters due 2 frustratn n deep desire 2 survive have been using our being smart in d wrong way. That wont blind us from seeing and aprec8in countless nigerians doing well all over the world. So let them say what they like coz 'ofe l'ohun'.I'm proud to be one of these smart and happy people called Nigerians!cheesy

tawa89: You are an APC man ...so you are forgiven for this highly flawed analysis.
Wtf is Arebesulaa is doing there? LMAO @ yara'dua at no1. I thought you people called him baba go slow.
Akpabio is the best for me , because i went to Akwa ibom in 1999, the place was a village . For him to transform the place from what i saw in 1999 to what is today for a Nigerian politician beggars belief . I'm talking about totally turning around a state full of bushes in 1999 to the most visible state in the country and not just fixing up an already developed state
Fashola is trying...Lagos has always being there........
to fault d inclusion of aregbesola in dis list,it's either u neva visited osun b4 d guy startd or u'r jst blind.n 4 dt of yar'adua, maybe he was baba go slow bt i insist he was abt d best guy our democracy produced.he was plain n sensitive to d demands n plight of d ppl of 9ja.lastly,i wud say akpabio's name shldnt even ve appeard in d list.i servd in akwa ibom n i was privy 2 certain facts abt akpabio's administratn.like u rightly pointd out,he turnd d state arnd bt @ a cost 2 high 4 d achievements.inflatn of project cost in aks is unimaginable.i no most nigerians dont mind!

Christianity EtcRe: Why Believers Should Speak In Tongues by nelajayi(m): 11:06am On Aug 26, 2013
striktlymi: Good evening again Bidam,

I want to believe that you are sincere in your resolve to following the word of God. It is in this light, I make the following comments:

The passage of sacred scriptures you quoted:

Acts 2:4

"4 They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to talk in other languages, as the Spirit enabled them to speak."

did not explicitly say that every believer would receive the gift of tongues as suggested by your post. That part of sacred scriptures only revealed what happened to the apostles at Pentecost.

However, sacred scriptures was very explicit when it affirms that the spirit gives various gifts which should be used for the good of all:

1Corinthians12:4-7

"4 There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit gives them. 5 There are different ways of serving, but the same Lord is served. 6 There are different abilities to perform service, but the same God gives ability to all for their particular service. 7 The Spirit's presence is shown in some way in each person for the good of all."

It is also very clear in sacred scriptures that not everyone is given the gift of speaking in tongues:

1Corinthians 12:10-11

"10 The Spirit gives one person the power to work miracles; to another, the gift of speaking God's message; and to yet another, the ability to tell the difference between gifts that come from the Spirit and those that do not. To one person he gives the ability to speak in strange tongues, and to another he gives the ability to explain what is said. 11 But it is one and the same Spirit who does all this; as he wishes, he gives a different gift to each person."

Paul also went ahead to say:

1Corinthians14:23-24

"23 If, then, the whole church meets together and everyone starts speaking in strange tongues—and if some ordinary people or unbelievers come in, won't they say that you are all crazy? 24 But if everyone is proclaiming God's message when some unbelievers or ordinary people come in, they will be convinced of their sin by what they hear. They will be judged by all they hear,"

Hence though the gift of the spirit includes speaking in tongues but it is not compulsory that everyone should have it, and not having it does not imply that the individual does not have the spirit of God.

Your quote:
Acts2:39

"39 For God's promise was made to you and your children, and to all who are far away—all whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”

really does not support your claim that every believer should speak in tongues. The comment was made by Peter when he spoke to the people about Jesus being the messiah. That he came to the world and died for us and that he has risen as he said he would. I don't see how this passage supports your claim.

I really do not post in order for you to acccept my opinion but if you say you believe sacred scriptures then read through scriptures very well and make your decision.

Thank you!
may god bless u 4 dis great insight n may he open more eyes to understand what truth his words carry.amen

musKeeto: If you don't understand spiritual things, why not ignore? Is it your keyboard or internet connection they use to type amen?

God works in mysterious ways. I know a man who typed amen on a post by Adeboye that was pasted on another group wall, and that evening someone called him and gave him 100000 USD... The person was a friend that he had lent some money during a rough period back in University. Because he typed AMEN, God remembered him..

So my bro, ednut abi na scotchegg, biko, leave us to type AMEN...

la furia: Do you blame them? If USA finds pleasure in sending drones and invading nations on false pretence and lies, y should they feel safe. Is USA the only country in the world? You don't go about setting people's house on fire and expect yours to be secure. There are more terrorist in the world today than 10yrs ago, all thanks to them. Y is UK that allows lot of immigrants from d middle east no facing lot of issues, simple, they mind their business unlike the US who feels they must have a say in every countries affairs.

obviously we all don't want to vote Jonathan but 1 question keeps bothering me: Who then do we votehuh?
The options are few.it is not kicking Jonathan out that will ultimately solve the problem but getting someone who can do it there. And again another question comes to mind; do our votes count at allhuhhuh

My definition of both love and like may make it clearer.love is a delibrate decision to be at d service of d oda person weda he/she deserves it or nt wyl like is an emotional connection we've with a persn.we dnt choose who we like,it just hapns.we most tyms like ppl n dnt knw y we like them.
