Scholar94: Thank you so much @ Nena2014. I really appreciate the prayers. But unfortunately, I didn't make it beyond verification this time. It's really so painful but I have to accept the reality and face others in front of me. I hope very soon I'm gonna have much to talk about. I don't know how to express my feelings in this text. But the truth is I know how you feel currently and am so sorry for PwC love letter, I was once in your shoe. But one thing that sustained me was my desire to continue to strive until I got what I wanted. I have read through some of your post and realized that you are really Smart. I would advice you continue your good work. Many more opportunities would come and am sure you would get something very better soon. Just don't give up. |

Scholar94: Good. You see why they might take as much as they did last year. Yea, we just hope for the best. The prayer is just that irrespective of the no they are taking, I just have to be make it this year Wow, I thought you currently work in PwC. You seem to have a lot of Knowledge about the firm and that's commendable. May God answer your prayers to Come in this year. |

It would have been shared publicly if it was meant for public consumption. Abi ooo. I just dey Sidon dey watch. My prayer is that 2015 case should not repeat itself in 2020. @Bambella, if you cherish the person that sent that attachment to you, you wouldn't have posted it. Ok, maybe you don't know, I can tell you. I can understand that you posted it ignorantly but now that you know, that info is not for public view. So posting it here can cost the job of the person that sent it to you. Chikena |

BamBella: Mails would start dropping any moment from now.
See the schedule of activities below for more information Hi, I have tried my best in not commenting this year. But I decided to comment now because something is about to go wrong. Please dear, I recognise that attachment and I still remember that it is not for public view. So I advice that you take down that attachment for the safety of you and the person that sent it to you. IIWWM: For the sake of posterity, I'll talk about my experience here.
Well first of all, my interview was scheduled for 8.30am but we didn't start till about several minutes past 10am and that was with the group discussion. We were split into two groups, five persons in each group in separate rooms and different panels.
So basically the group discussion is a time to work "together" with your colleagues, communicate and contribute valid points while being time conscious. One of us volunteered to moderate, and then he asked for further volunteers as timekeeper, note taker and presenter. After the group discussion, we were all re-directed to the waiting room and were invited in turns for the panel interview (the interview is in order of arrival so if you want to leave early, get there earlier than others).
The interview is more like a chat, but trust me its the most important because although you have to be comfortable, you have to demonstrate key competencies they're looking for. Don't go and goof in the name of being comfortable.
Basically you should expect questions like Tell me about yourself, what would you have done differently during your group discussion, how did others perform, and why PwC or assurance or tax or advisory or whatever unit you've applied for. Your replies from then determines the questions that'll follow, behavioral questions mostly. So the catch is just to be honest because they can pick something you've said and ask you to elaborate.
Other questions include: Tell us about a time you had to complete a project within a short time Tell us how you've improved your technical skills What certifications do you have Tell us how engineering has prepared you for a role in PwC How do you stay abreast with information and tell us one local and one foreign news Tell us how you handled your suggestion in a group that met resistance Tell us how you contributed to the success of a project How important is communication to you in your work environment Tell us how you've used your communication skills in your job roles (because I'm currently working) Tell us about a time you added value to your team Do you have any questions for us.
An interview duration lasts for 30 - 40 minutes on average.
I wish you all the best!
Ps: I hope I've been direct in my explanations but if you have any questions please ask here as I hardly check PMs sent via emails. Thanks for sharing. I wish you success. |

ChikezieUche: Hp 12c financial calculator right? Is it something one would need to learn to use before the test? . Alaba International Market type of calculator . It is not the scientific calculator we all know. Its just a +,-,/,* type of calculator which is just fine. |

Please, are we to expect a test of similar difficulty level or a notch higher? A notch Higher basically because of the time constraint. So you need to learn about how to manage time, it could help. |

soul95: Please I got a success mail. However part of the requirements for the verification test invite is a NYSC discharge certificate. I don't have that yet as I am due to complete NYSC by July this year. I want to know if that would be an issue..I live quite far from Lagos and I would not want to be disappointed. Thank you. Hi, congrats on your success mail. You still serving is no issue at all, you can still do the verification. On the day of your verification, just tell them that you are still serving and that your pop would be by july. you will be allowed to do the verification and other stages. It did not hinder my friend last year. In fact he got his offer letter on his POP day. |

theoptimist298: Dont worry urself about salary. Every year u get promoted and ur salary increases. In a year u would be earning above what majority of companies pay at your level except oil companies. That 180k or more is just a disguise. Before u know, it jumps to 250k, 300k, etc. Salary would be the least of ur worries when u get the job. U wont even have the time to spend it. Alert would come in and u would feel nothing due to pressure. Here are a list of some pressures u will and must deal with as long as u get the job.
Pressure to be a high flyer, pressure to reconcile how u see/saw urself before the job versus how colleagues see u, pressure from the bullies, pressure to meet deadline, pressure to learn the work, pressure from pple being rude and talking down to u, pressure from people who are ur age mates or younger but are ur superiors and are bossing u around like ur dad, pressure to fit in, pressure to fill time sheet ( u must account for how u spend ur 8 hours everyday), pressure from traffic, pressure to look sharp always even when tired, pressure to work in teams with people u may not like, pressure to remain in touch with family and friends, pressure from feedback on the job, pressure from passing professional exams because everyone including ur managers and partners would ask u when result comes out, etc lmao wow,

theoptimist298: Lol. If only u know how many people u automatically rejected with ur initial comment about age. I don’t expect any firm’s HR to own up here, all i’m saying is, be one before u make a comment which could imply that certain persons are not qualified to apply. What applied last year may not always apply this year especially where there appears to be a bit of info suggesting this. No age cap was stated in the advert as against previous years. I’d wager my last card on the fact that even if youre an employee and u dont make an extra effort to be aware (which i doubt u would have to time to do), you wouldn't be privy to current recruitment criteria as you would be too busy trying to check if TB ties with FS and such and such. I’d be happy to hear your thoughts on this lol. who is this one self. |

ednut1: So after reading 2014 to 2017 threads. U want whatsapp . So that future aspirants can read info tjat might become obsolete ba . it is very disheartening to note that many people do not think about the long term effect of the decision they make. if it does not affect them directly, it can affect them in other ways. Just imagine how the next applicant will feel when they notice that the previous set did not put them into consideration in the decision they took, and just imagine if your friend or a member of your family is in the next set. @ednut and Therealadonye, just know that you guys did your best in helping our generation and you showed us love and am sure that you can gain comfort over that fact. But majority of our generation does not want to reciprocate that love. For those guys that carries whatsapp on their head, think about what will happen if anything happens to your phone, how can you reference the information on whatsapp in a week time, not to talk about a month or a year time? where will your colleagues who does not have whatsapp enabled phones reference to?. LETS BE EMPATHETIC. Thank me later |

datascience: Smiles, body dey sweet you. I wouldn't know what brought this plenty talk, but its fine. That you are a graduate trainee of last year does not make you God over all knowledge Mr I to know that complains about everything, read and read well. The long epistle I wrote is not for you but for others to be alert and refute your negativity. Who is talking about knowledge here. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: PwC Graduate Recruitment 2019 by nena2014: 4:22pm On Jan 27, 2019 |
datascience: First its not about degree. Its about age. Someone said the max age is 26. That regret mail is sent immediately. I tried explaining that it is not always so because someone was passed that age and did not get such.
Secondly, "foolish" is not referred to anyone but to the persistent effort of the individual being quoted trying to be sarcastic.
Wish all well. You are all correct! Failure most times comes as a result of being surrounded with pessimistic, I to know, and ignorant individuals. One can also fail when he refuses to adhere to instruction. why am I saying all this? Well, I can remember this datascience and his negativity so well. He actually loves Pwc that's why he is present on this page. However, he is so negative and a concentrated pessimist. I can never forget how he almost gave me BP last year. So please guys run away from him and his frivolous arguments,he is actually a distraction. Concentrate on the recruitment process and be positive, THE SKY WOULD BE YOUR STARTING POINT. |

I tried mailing you o... buzz me let's go and "wash it" like someone said earlier Wow,congrats dear. See en the sight of a rejection mail is so heartbreaking, so many questions will start ringing in your brain. In my case en a woman teased me at my back telling me to defend my result,i was shattered. But I just decided to stand up, clean my tears and continue moving. The only thing needed was that fighting spirit. I really felt bad about your regret mail, but the experience is worthwhile, like I said, things happens for a reason. Be the way, I have replied your mail. Let's chat |

Good evening all, I got the invite, but am not writing it. Well I was in the process last year and the questions are logical based test. I would advise you download Lsat past questions. I used it for the online test last year. If you pass this online test, you will be invited by dragnet to any location of their choice to do an aptitude test. The aptitude test comprises of: Quantitative, verbal and abstract reasoning. Cheers |

Samkeniyy: As for you. It is high time we send you for vacation out of Nairaland, na only you waka come, You must get this PwC, So we can rest. . Thanks sam. I will like to share my job search experience, perhaps someone could learn from it in the future. My journey on job search taught me a lot of things about life. I started my job search around June 2016 and since then I have been getting rejections upon rejections. The funny thing is that I get to interview stages and most times the final stage. Aptitude tests was not the problem, I scaled through all the aptitude tests, excluding the pwc online test last year, so what's the problem? I got a very serious blow from a firm I treasured soo much precisely August 31st 2017,at that point I told myself that I won't give up. i started thinking seriously and I realized my problem, it was the interviews and I decided to work on myself. That was when I came across jarus hub materials. I sincerely wanted to attend the mock interview but I couldn't afford it. And then a friend gave me one of jarushub book titled ROAD TO VICTORIA ISLAND, which I used for my interview and it worked. Firstly I acknowledge my heavenly father for his love, my parent and siblings for their words of encouragement . Thanks to my friends, especially friends I met on naira Land who were willing to help me not minding who I am. Therealadonye, samkeniyy, gnen, larochelle, revson, trvc, ascapella, Vivian Ike, datjobhunter, your assistance will never be forgotten by me. Finallllllllllllly my job search has come to an end!!!. After two attempts in pwc. To those who couldn't make it, I perfectly understands how you feel right now, but please don't give up. There is a reason for everything. |
