Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige, on Friday appeared to hesitate in endorsing his party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Mr Ngige, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, said he will make his choice at the ballot.

“I’m not active in politics for now because I am facing national assignment,” he said when asked his preferred candidate between the APC’s Tinubu and the Labour Party’s Peter Obi.

Both of them are my friends. My choice will be in the ballot box. It is a secret ballot. I shouldn’t tell Nigerians what I would do secretly.”

He however noted that Tinubu performed incredibly well in Lagos and laid “a solid foundation” for the state, an often-used campaign argument made by APC supporters.

When pressed on who he feels will win the 2023 elections, Mr Ngige said the big parties have problems.

“We have problems in APC; PDP has their own. Their own is two times our own. Our own is family disagreements.

“If we get our acts together, my party will sweep.”

At every given election in Nigeria, the Igbo Tribe has been consistent in voting massively to other tribes. 2007: The Igbos voted for Yaradua.

2019: The Igbos voted for Atiku.

For many years, The Igbos have been voting for people from other regions regardless of religion difference.
Now in 2023, they want to vote for someone with the capacity to lead from their own region, they are being called derogatory names.
The interesting part of it is that people who want a better tomorrow do not see Obi as an Igbo agenda but a man to turn Nigeria into a great country.

A Nigerian Man identified as Toba Adeyeye has taken to his social media page to share a screenshot of the text message he recieved from a Widow and mother of two whom he'd employed to clean and take care of his home.

In the message, the sender expressed affectionate feelings for her boss and she revealed her wish to be much more than just a cleaner for her boss.

Sharing the screenshot, he wrote -

"My craziest experience in a longtime. Earlier today, I got this text from my house cleaner who happened to be a widow with 2 children and should be in her 40s. I was and still am confused, I thought I was helping her by 1. providing her with the job 2. Paying her extra
3. Not complaining when foodstuff, fruits, & drinks go less in the kitchen after cleaning, & in most cases, she asks if she can take it, especially for products that are about to expire. 4. Solving her minor problems like adding to kids Sch. Fee or extra cash during the festivals"

Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo has said that security breaches do not justify that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government has failed.

Keyamo made this assertion while speaking during an interview with Politics Today on Channels Television

He said, “It is only in heaven where there will be no security breaches. We are not in heaven yet.

“There are jailbreaks in America, but that doesn’t mean Government has failed,” he said.

The minister stated that the threat by bandits to kidnap the president is not a national concern.

He described the people issuing threats to kidnap the President as “mad men.”



Keyamo, who stated that anybody could make such kidnap threat, said that does not call for national concern.

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has said the government will not allow the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to plunge it into another burden of borrowings

Keyamo made this assertion while speaking during an interview with ‘Politics Today’ on Channels TV on Friday

He said the federal government has explored all avenues to reach a truce, but the striking ASUU members turned deaf ears.

Keyamo stated that ASUU failed to honour dialogue with the key stakeholders holding the purse of the federal government.

The minister said the government cannot go beyond its capacity, because it is not only ASUU that is feeding from the federal government purse.

The 15 political parties deregistered by the Independent National Electoral Commission, under the aegis of Coalition for Good Governance, on Friday declared support for the presidential ambition of the candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi.

The organisation said only Obi out of the candidates contesting for the 2023 Presidency can stop Nigeria from disintegrating.

The CGG in a statement by its national chairman, Okey Chikwendu, and Publicity Secretary, Don Anthony Harmattan, said the deregistered parties took the decision after carefully studying each presidential candidates to know the most reliable and credible among them.

INEC had in 2020 deregistered 74 political parties on the ground that they failed to meet constitutional requirements that determine the continuous existence of political parties in the country, leaving 18 which passed its test.

But the deregistered parties said they still have their structures in place, adding that they would all support and work for the success of the former governor of Anambra State.

The statement read,”We have earlier stated that the outcome of the political parties primaries for the presidential ticket and selection of the vice presidential tickets will determine which party we, the Coalition for Good Governance comprising of 15 deregistered political parties and some former presidential candidates would endorse and support for the 2023 presidential election.

The choice is based on identifying the ticket with the most credible candidates who are tested, trusted, and exhibit sufficient intellectual capacity to salvage our nation from the wreck we find ourselves and meet the yearnings of the Nigerian people which is equitable, fair and just irrespective of tribe or ethnicity.

In furtherance to the above, the CGG on July 28 held a meeting in Abuja well attended by the National Party Chairmen and former presidential candidates of deregistered political parties whereby they took a very critical appraisal of all the current presidential contenders for the 2023 presidential elections and their Vice, the house unanimously voted Peter Obi/Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed as the most credible among the candidates and as such resolved to support and work with them and their campaign group on the platform of Labour party.

“We, therefore, agreed to rebrand our offices nationwide as Campaign support offices for the project. Our structures all over the 36 States and 774 Local Government Areas are henceforth required to support the Obi ticket.

“Nigerians have had enough of the disunity, eminent disintegration, lingering ASUU strike, terrorist threats, killings, kidnappings, hunger, unemployment, unbearable petrol cost and scarcity, high electricity tariffs, its epileptic situation, rising food cost etc and the continued lack of resolve by the establishment to put an end to these crises.

“We as leaders in main stream politics in Nigeria wish to make clear that only an efficient, effective and credible candidate of renowned character can resolve most of Nigeria’s lingering problems and we therefore urge Nigerians to heed to our advice and support our goals of returning Nigeria as the true giant of Africa and the production hub of West Africa.”

Meanwhile, Big Brother Naija season seven which has a larger number of youths as audience, commenced on Saturday.

There are speculations that the show will take attention of the youths and they would consequently abandoned the Peter Obi movement.

A herbalist at Oyibi in the Greater Accra Region, Nana Adu-Boafo, has caused the arrest of one Evans Oppong, who took his beautiful little daughter to him for a money ritual.

The man who is reported to have lived abroad told the herbalist that life had been hard for him, so he decided to sacrifice one of her children to make wealth.

Nana Adu-Boafo, who said he is a disciplined military man, called the police on the father of 12, and he got arrested.

A video circulating online shows the herbalist narrating to the law enforcement officers what transpired between him and Oppong.

The girl’s father came to see me, he told me he just landed in the country after staying overseas for a while, and it hasn’t been easy for him. He told me he is a father of 12 and is offering two of them for money rituals. He offered me GHS 10,000 and other good surprises when the job is done. Sadly, he had just picked the daughter up during school hours and told her he was going to get her a new dress.

"Yes, I am a herbalist, but I am also a military man. I am very disciplined. I don’t engage in any sinister activities. I want to prove to the world that herbalists are not as evil as they are painted. We are not killers as is portrayed in movies, we are healers. I have the little girl he brought for me to kill," Nana Adu-Boafo told the police.

However, Nana Adu-Boafo apologized for showing the saved girl’s face in the footage.

"I am very sorry for showing the girl’s face in the video. At that particular moment of recording, I was totally possessed because I was working before he arrived with his daughter and I couldn’t even control myself and tears.

"I recorded everything for evidence since my kingmakers were not home with me, forgive me. Please forgive me.

A police officer, Inspector Gambo Gadzama, has disclosed that police officers don’t torture suspects, but rather intimidate them into telling the truth.

Gadzama said this on Wednesday, March 23, while addressing members of an #EndSARS panel in Abuja.

Reacting to questions regarding the alleged killing of one Obinna Jonah in a police detention facility in Abuja in January 2020, the officer insisted that the deceased was never to#tured as alleged in a petition by the deceased’s family.

According to him, “Nobody to#tured anybody. We don’t torture suspects, we only scare them with words like ‘I will beat you’ so they can confess.”

He explained that Mr Obinna was arrested as a member of an armed robbery and cult gang on January 29, 2020 after the leader of the gang confessed and named 13 other members of the gang. He said Mr Obinna was indisposed at the time of his arrest and his condition worsened in detention.

“The next day, he slumped and was rushed to Area 1 police clinic, where he was confirmed dead on arrival. His body was deposited at the Wuse General hospital mortuary by the investigating team leader,” he said.

Adding that they couldn’t do autopsy because they couldn’t track any of Mr Obinna’s relations.

Electricity: National grid restored — Minister of Power, Abubakar Aliyu

The Minister of Power Abubakar Aliyu has announced the restoration of the national grid, which broke down twice in the last 48 hours leading to a nationwide blackout.

The Minister, in a statement, explained: “The current challenges of electricity supply in Nigeria are being resolved with the ongoing restoration of normal operations. Early in the week, the national grid suffered a decrease in electricity due to so many factors. However, more of the power is being restored.

The current energy cr!sis confronting some key sectors of the economy also contributed to the problems we are facing now in the power sector. We are where we are today also because of the increasing vandalization of pipelines that also supply gas to the power plants. This too is being resolved in collaboration with the relevant agencies. NNPC and other gas suppliers are working relentlessly to restore gas supply for optimum power supply.

Government is doing everything — working with the relevant security agencies — to stop vandalization of pipelines. Routine maintenance of power generating plants had also contributed to the current power outages we are experiencing.
“These challenges do not in any way indicate that the ongoing rehabilitation of the national grid by the government is not yielding results.

“Despite all the challenges, we are recording successes and the grid is being restored back to full operation. Government solicits the support of all Nigerians at this time, while efforts will continue to increase and stabilize electricity supply across Nigeria.”

The BBC have revealed a series of documents that show where his wealth came from, including theft, corruption and even kidnapping.

How did Abramovich make his money?

Abramovich had his first problem with the law in 1992, robbing a train loaded with fuel to then be resold. But the Russian's lawyers have told the BBC that the incident was a mere misunderstanding. Moscow police issued an arrest warrant, but the case then disappeared without a trace.

There are also accusations of corruption around his purchase of Sibneft, where he needed political influence that he didn't have. As per Boris Berezovsky, another Russian oligarch, the Chelsea owner gave him more than 10 million pounds to pay to Alexander Korzhakov, an important figure in Boris Yeltsin's government.

The purchase was investigated by Russian parliament in 1997, with charges of fraud then sought.

According to the BBC, though, Abramovich had the support of the Russian president at the time.

Accusations of kidnapping

Battling with a Chinese company trying to buy Slavneft, Abramovich's bid was doubled by their opponents. It's said that a member of the Chinese delegation was kidnapped upon arrival in Moscow to negotiate the purchase, with the Chinese company then pulling out of the discussions as a result of the kidnapping.

Abramovich's lawyers have told the BBC that he had no knowledge of the incident and that the accusations are false.

Abramovich's relationship with Alexandra Korendyuk

The Russian has also found himself in a personal scandal, with it coming to light that he is in a relationship with 25-year-old model and presenter Alexandra Korendyuk, who is of Ukrainian origin. It's thought that they've been in a relationship for more than a year.

Abramovich landed in Moscow on Tuesday after being spotted at an Israeli airport, according to several reports in the British media.

The Chelsea owner was photographed waiting in a lounge at Israel's Ben Gurion airport, wearing a face mask, and presumably then boarded a jet he owned that departed for Moscow, making a brief stop in Turkey.
