I like the added features too but when several people were against turbo engine, I just let it go. So far, I've done just the oil change after purchase. Maintenance minder telling me to change the transmission and brake oils on my next service. Had it since October and everything is 💯

I think I'll first go with a Honda Civic specialist for physical inspection then decide if to continue with the touring or just jejely get EX (which is also good).

Hi good afternoon sir, for the turbo it was about 800k ish
Now, maintenance culture that’ll probably keep this car from tbis frequent issues is
- do your oil changes regularly, the engines actually face oil dilution issues with fuel but can be managed with frequent oil change
- head gasket failure; now this are common on this engines to go out and I’d liken it to pushing this cars to their extreme really. For example the Honda accord I worked on, the owner floors the pedal when trying to move ( almost redlining the engine , this really creates a lot of cylinder pressure and would ultimately lead to head gasket failure if done frequently
So my two personal key point for this engine are
- frequent oil changes
- driving them with ease really

This is quite insightful and aligns with some of the research I've done on the 1.5T engine.

I'm not a racer so I think I'll be fine with gradual acceleration.

Maybe after a physical inspection of the car, I'll decide if to go for the touring trim or the EX trim.

The 2017 Civic touring albeit in sedan form would come with the 1.5l turbo engine and from research and personal experience working on the 2018 Honda accord with a variant of that engine, they tend to develop turbo underboost problems that’ll require purchase of a new turbocharger, the said vehicle also has had several history of head gasket failure and while checking out for recalls or tsbs on the car I noticed a lot of people complained the same issue with the 1.5l T engine . The 2.0 NA version is better but for the touring trim you want I doubt it’s available. I can also help inspect for you if you’re in Lagos

People usually discourage turbo engines as it needs special handling. So I was advised when I was considering the same car and I listened and got the EX which uses the 2.0 NA engine. So far so good.
