The beauty of modern technology. These pictures were sent in from members of the public. And the public is again being asked to help identify them. Their identities aren't yet known though. He said the man identified as Suspect No. 2, wearing a white cap, was seen leaving his bag at the site of the second explosion Monday.Guess that is a good enough lead. |
BOSTON — The FBI on Thursday released photographs of two men said to be suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings that killed three spectators and injured more than 170 other people. Richard DesLauriers, special agent in charge of the FBI office in Boston, appealed to the public for help in identifying the two men, whom he cautioned should be considered “armed and dangerous.” Appearing at a news briefing with U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz, DesLauriers said the two men, both carrying what appeared to be heavy bags on their backs, walked together through the crowd of spectators. He said the man identified as Suspect No. 2, wearing a white cap, was seen leaving his bag at the site of the second explosion Monday. Earlier Thursday, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told a House committee in Washington that the FBI wants to interview individuals seen in at least one video from the vicinity of the Boston Marathon finish line, but she would not describe them as suspects. Testifying before the House Homeland Security Committee, Napolitano did not provide details of the men’s appearance or say what the video shows, the Associated Press reported. “There is some video that raised the question” of what the men were doing, she said. Napolitano said it remains unclear whether the bombs that exploded Monday near the finish line of the renowned race were the work of foreign or domestic terrorists. “We don’t know yet whether the attack was planned and executed by a terrorist organization, foreign or domestic, or if it was an individual act,” James R. Clapper Jr., the director of national intelligence, told lawmakers during a separate hearing on worldwide threats. “Lone wolves, domestic extremists and jihad-inspired or -affiliated groups are certainly determined to attack,” he added in testimony before the Senate Armed Services Committee. With the investigation proceeding, President Obama, first lady Michelle Obama and members of the Massachusetts congressional delegation flew to Boston to attend an interfaith prayer service, console victims of the bombings and their relatives and thank medical personnel and first responders. The discovery of video of a man who wore a large backpack to the finish line area and then dropped the package there raised hopes Wednesday for an imminent breakthrough in the case, setting off a media frenzy and insistent statements from authorities that no arrest has been made. A Boston city official said the video is of “special interest” to investigators. The second full day of the investigation into the attack brought jitters, rumors and at least the hope that investigators had made important progress. Massachusetts Gov. Deval L. Patrick (D) said that while the probe is “making some progress . . . it’s going to be slow, it’s going to be methodical.” "http://www.youtube.com/embed/M80DXI932OE" https://msnbcmedia.msn.com/j/MSNBC/Components/Photo/_new/gss-130418-suspects-03.grid-5x2.jpg https://msnbcmedia.msn.com/j/MSNBC/Components/Photo/_new/g-cvr-130418-suspects-525p.grid-5x2.jpg http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/investigators-focus-on-video-of-two-men-at-scene-of-boston-marathon-bombings/2013/04/18/6dadfcfa-a833-11e2-8302-3c7e0ea97057_story.html?hpid=z1 |
When will you clowns let the matter rest and get on with your sordid lives? You can barely put together three correct sentences and here you are pretending you can tell what "high art" is. Jeez!! |

Sincere 9gerian: Silly comparison. Compare like with like. You cant compare Nigeria that is faced with internal insurgency for over 3yrs now with US that is facing a major terrorist attack since 2001. Compare Nigeria with Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, etc. Yes, these are the countries facing similar internal terrorism by the same Islamic militants. The president of those countries do not address the country after every attack. The hate for president Jonathan should not becloud our sense of reasoning.Internal or external, what difference does it make? Lives are being lost and the incompetent, clueless man once said we should learn to live with it. He was literally 'forced' by ACN governors to even go to Maiduguri, on of the sites of all the carnage. He has never considered addressing the country once to brief us on what he's doing or what we should expect as per the situation. Apparently he feels he doens't owe the Nigerian populace any explanations. The mor@n literally admitted that he has terrorists in his govt but couldn't do anything about it! What a dumbas$! Insincerenigerian, your guy is a dumbocrat! Admit it. |
CFCfan: CBS News' John Miller: Saudi national detained after bomb blast is being cooperative, denying involvementThat's unconfirmed news. Boston police chief said that's not true. You guys should wait for police before concluding abeg. I get arab gf o ![]() |
coogar: what is freedom of movement when terrorists are there to kill people anyways? i am in support of violation of my privacy if that would keep me safe. the drones are just there to spy on people, not to drop bombs in residential neighbourhoods. You guys have no idea how much americans are suspicious of their government. Ordinary to give up a few inconsequential conveniences to reduce gun crimes, they have refused, not to talk of having drones flying all over them. In which life? It will take more than two explosions and two dead. 20 1st graders were murdered in cold blood in December and up till now they haven't done anything comprehensive nationally. They are still arguing back and forth. A big city would have to be wiped out before they can begin to consider having drones as watchmen |
FreeGlobe: Since you don't want to respect yourself I will disgrace you further. What is this? FreeGlobe: Its a pity that Nigerians will be defrauded by Gbawe, the official ACN peddler of lies. This same stats was discussed exhaustively earlier this year even to the extent of the NBS denouncing the ACN stats. It was discovered that Osun state was indeed among the poorest states in Nigeria. Fastforward 3 months later, Gbawe the shameless ACN peddler of lies, writes an article on the denounced stats praising aregbe to receive his salary. am about to post links. watch out! kettykings: The Research i have done proves otherwise a state like osun with virtually no meaningful industry except for the machine tool complex , the Dilapidated NITEL exchange in Oshogbo, some few ancestral land marks like the Osun river visited only by yoruba Pagans and some hectares of farm lands of indian hemp, cocoa and poultry farms around ife can not be said to be the state with least poverty even with 2.2 M population , there are states that have much more wealth like a thriving Oil Industry, Aluminium smelter plan , very large expanse of palm , cassava a big fishing industry and a rapid infrastructure growth like Akwa Ibom.Gbawe defend yourself o. I'm not accusing you of peddling lies, but you should confirm osundefender articles from a second or third source before posting, otherwise you stand to ridicule your good name. Those guys are a propaganda news site. |
Na wa o. Amnesty for criminals? What happened to our jails? Nothing we no go hear for Naija. Everyone wan chop from national cake, whichever guise gets you there - politician, suicide bomber, militant, pastor, imam, civil servant, and now criminals. The message they are sending law abiding citizens these days is that it doesn't pay to be law abiding ![]() |
Good for them. But it sounds more like a propaganda piece. Firstly, the Federal Bureau of Statistics is not OWNED by the PDP as the article purported. It is a federal parastatal. Secondly, whatever is "least poverty state"? How about richest, or best developed or highest in HDI. Thirdly, to accurately gage progress, they should have stated clearly where Osun was on the same ranking 2, 3, 5 years ago, and how they have steadily progressed. And finally, the claim of being the 3rd cleanest state is VERY HIGHLY SUSPECT. Enugu, Imo, Akwa-Ibom, Crossriver, etc are very clean states. Eyewitness accounts don't bear that claim out. All in all sha, I suspect they have made good progress, but this article appears to exaggerate things. They should stick to facts. |
stitcheD: Bros your english na wa o! Na product of free education nah. Abeg leave Dr Idowu alone johBtw, Southerner, Northerner, what difference does it make? We should be clamoring for a leader that has genuine love for the masses of Nigeria, who has the best interest of the country at heart, is full of vision and knows what to do. When will you folks start judging people by the content of their character and not by their ethnicity or creed? At this time and age.... na wa o ![]() |
Gbawe: Please take your wahala elsewhere because the part in bold shows mischief and open bias glaringly. It seems you do not read what others write before you rush to quote them. I can only put it down to your being driven by bias and a sectional agenda. Show where, in my post, I display "tantrum" over Fasehun forming a political Party as you claim. Point to where I have a "problem" with Fasehun for any political plans he has. I specifically tackled his assertion that the ACN "doesn't think of Yoruba welfare". That is a ridiculous and fraudulent statement, all things taken into account, that could only have come from a 'tool'.Lol, no vex o. I only took you back to the genesis of the issue. What started all the brouhaha? Party formation. And the tantrum part wasn't referring to you alone, but to all preceding comments, who do not want to recognize that the man can form as many parties as he wants. ACN has arguably done better than any other party in this dispensation. But that doesn't mean anyone else should does form another party in the southwest if they want to. Mr Lai should have kept his mouth in check instead of lying against the man. Fasehun was only defending himself. I did say he exaggerated with that statement, but only because Lai attacked him first and ACN sidelined him. FYI, I'm unlike ACN goons that can't see anything good in any other party. My bias and allegiance is ALWAYS with the Nigerian people. Whichever party or person that delivers, I will praise them. Who or where they are from doesn't matter to me, so long as Nigeria develops o tan. |
hornipipe: he was fouled there, Kompany is a bad manhow can kompany be a man? are corporations people, my friend? |
Gbawe: The Abati-rization of another hungry mercenary who had erstwhile pretended he stood for something. One of the biggest problem of Nigeria is that Nigerians lack political sophistication to see issues clearly. This is why some folks, after their pockets has swelled with Aso Rock dollars, can come and throw Bananas in the arena Monkeys will then fight over.I don't understand what all the tantrum is about. The man has a right to form his political party, abi? So what is the problem? If I understand it clearly, he came out to announce forming UPN and Lai Mohammed immediately pounced on him and lied about him receiving a contract. You don't expect him to keep quiet, do you? So what if he exaggerates a bit about ACN. Fact is Tinubu is a billionaire today through corrupt means. He tried as governor, but he also ripped the state off. Same with Fashola. No one is saying the SW isn't better off than it would have been under PDP. But that's only because we have very low expectations from our leaders. They certainly could have done a whole lot more. So you guys should stop howling and crying. I doubt the man even has enough money to make the party viable sef. Tinubu and ACN have long excluded him from the largesse so he's looking for a way to hammer too ![]() |
Rgp92: To be honest, you are the foolish one. We all know Nigeria is poor and shit, how does making a video about it helps? If nothing else, such videos document history, olodo. How would you know when u have your head stuffed into GEJ's an@l orifice? |
tomakint: ....it will still shock you that despite the shocking revelations of the wicked game plans of the core North, some southerners are still willing to vote for a Northernersmh. Youths still talking like our fathers whose tribalism and hatred for each other has kept the country on its knees till date. Southerner, northerner, christian, muslim, man or woman, what does a person's bio got to do with how well he/she can lead a country? Judge every man/woman on his/her own merits, not some phantom "wicked game plans" of a region. Na wa for una sha ![]() |
Maybe christian leaders should leave politics alone and focus on making better disciples of their flock. At any rate they don't have a sterling reputation when it comes to political involvement. CAN and PFN are very good examples, and our awfully flamboyant GOs, who all have the ears of the leaders but can't find the courage to tell them any hard truths. I don't know why the press continues to report on these guys. They haven't been good examples, and if they were even a tiny bit good at their jobs, with so many religious people in Nigeria, the country would have been way better than it is today. Like pastors, like flock. Everyone is just looking for how to dupe his fellow man ![]() |
Texas.Cowgirl:How is that front page material? How is it supposed to improve our lives or add to our knowledge base? We see black girls everyday. The well-dressed ones and the shabby ones. What is different about the thread? ![]() |
Sibrah: Sports related issue at administrative level is good enough for Politics na.In a sane world, maintaining stadiums should be the job of the NFF or state FAs or sports ministry, not federal or state governments. So that is still a sports section topic at the end of the day. I don't know what part of that Uncle Eko-ile missed ![]() Meanwhile this thread should also vaporize into the complaints thread ASAP ![]() Ikechukwu, how far? |
solomon111: you think it is silly?Very weak arguments. The essence of journalism is not necessarily to seek solutions, or promote an opinion or point of view, but to EXPOSE THAT WHICH IS, through reportage, to the public eye thereby helping the public form their own opinions and encourage public discourse on the issue. What he did would surely do both of those, and probably become a catalyst for either shaming leaders into doing better or encouraging the public to vote out the perpetual under-performers. That has always been the role of the press, and countries generally don't make progress with a stifled press. That's why dictatorships don't work. Do you get it now? |
solomon111: Very good move by the FG.Can't believe a Nigerian youth said this You papa must be in govt, else you must have lost your mind. Promote Nigeria's image by pardoning convicted embezzlers, and generally being corrupt and clueless? Best way to promote your image as a govt is good governance, you slowpoke. You cannot stifle freedom of speech in the name of promoting image |
I thought the topic was about stadiums. Is that not a sports section parole? ![]() Ikechukwu dey do you strong thing allah ![]() |
There is absolutely nothing wrong with having as many parties as possible. Eventually the inviable ones will die naturally. Besides, it is regressive to have whole regions or peoples voting for one party all the time. Eventually their votes will be taken for granted and they will be shortchanged in the level of commitment their elected leaders have to matters of interest for the voters. People should be able to rotate between options from one voting circle to the next. That way leaders will always be on their toes to do the most good so they can retain power. The story of Nigeria's underdevelopment is the story of inviable national and state parties where voters haven't had much choice to vote politicians in and out. The voter's voice is in effect muffled, because elected leaders do the bidding of those that put them there - the godfathers. And as we all know, the interests of godfathers and the electorate are on parallel planes. So let Fasehun form his party to resurrect Awo's ideals. That should set ACN on their toes. That should bring more dividends to SW electorate. The better we all are for it. |
nwando: No mind the hausa man. We're talking Achebe, Soyinka, Clark and Okigbo, he is mentioning some Bello man. Omatseye, Bello or whoever, they don't matter. You do not assign yourself the critic of a man infinitely more accomplished than you are, unless he/she is a political figure in a country or locality for which you have voting rights. Until they write books that sell the world over, they should read their TFA at night and keep quite during daytime. |
seanet01: Because the Dictionary said so does not mean it is correct. Semite is not an English Word so the dictionary is just as dumb as you are.Keep washing your yansh in public I will keep supplying the crowd I should take your word for it against the dictionary definition? What brass from a pathetic ignoramus! Pray tell, what word is it? Yoruba? |
naija_swag: The 105th Nobel Prize for literature, the richest literary prize in the world, is awarded this week. Over it's history, the prize has been awarded to works in over 25 different languages. There have been 10 British winners (including one British prime minister) four joint wins, 12 female recipients, one Yiddish winner and two writers who have declined the substantial prize.Don't mind the dumbos who only parrot talking points their simplistic minds can understand. The nobel prize comes with a lot of politics, and is not necessarily the holy grail of achievement. It is not a sustainable argument to try to diminish the person and work of Achebe, just to make Soyinka look better. They both stand tall in their own rights. Only fools like Omatseye and his troops here on nl even attempt such empty, unenlightening fantasy....like the mor0n who's still arguing an English word with the English dictionary because 'it doesn't make sense' in his head. How stupid can one get? |
seanet01: Let me simplify it for you. Now you want to argue an English word with an English dictionary? I am embarrassed for you! You think we're speaking your mother tongue here? Who taught you what "Semitism means"? The dictionary Who taught you what "anti" means? The dictionary The same dictionary tells you what antisemitism means and you want to use your head? The same head you failed through school with? ![]() Your case is irredeemably pathetic! |
seanet01: Fool.If you had taken caution and done a google check of the word after two corrections, you would have desisted from further embarrassing yourself and publicizing your agege grammar school heritage. From wiki: Antisemitism (also spelled anti-semitism or anti-Semitism) is prejudice, hatred of, or discrimination against Jews for reasons connected to their Jewish heritage. A person who holds such views is called an "antisemite". While the term's etymology might suggest that antisemitism is directed against all Semitic peoples, the term was coined in the late 19th century in Germany as a more scientific-sounding term for Judenhass ("Jew-hatred" ![]() from Webster: hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group Do you get it now? Ode |
seanet01: can you learn for once?Stop displaying your putrid ignorance. The term "antisemitism" doesn't have any connection to the semitic people in general. Ode la san |
0lumide: I think everyone should read things fall apart and ask how the book is helping people "understand" Africa.Lol.... A disgrace to who? In what sense? And pray tell, how did TFA "paint Igbos as the best tribe God created"? When compared to which other tribes? Was there a line in TSA that compared Igbo to any other African tribe? Can you now see that you're the "disgrace"? |
seanet01: Fool!Damn! How can you be this dumb? Do you even know what 'anti-semite' means? Think on that before your reply. And just so you know, Anwar Sadat was an Egyptian ![]() |
nwando: That is called being gracious So true! They call themselves intellectuals and critics of someone infinitely more accomplished than they could ever dream to be. We know them only as loud-mouthed, bigoted goons. |

I should take your word for it against the dictionary definition? What brass from a pathetic ignoramus! Pray tell, what word is it? Yoruba?
