ifihearam: Don't want to ruin your hopes oo but we both know an Igbo Will NEVER be the number 1 citizen of this country with the existing political calculation. The only person who can effect that change is GEJ and that's why the Igbos must as a matter of urgency support whole heartedly this current administration and they can be compensated with the office of the vice president if their loyalty pleases the president .As old as you are, you're still thinking like and uneducated f00l. smh. What has one's place of origin got to do with how well he can lead a perpetually under-achieving country? And what does having a president from the SS done for the igbo race? Compensated my foot! Did you even hear yourself? You think it is possible to have a president from the SS and a vice from the SE? That just shows your level of reasoning. And even if we accept that an Igbo man is Vice-president, what will that do for the igbo race in concrete terms? OBJ's 8 years as president helped the Yoruba race in what way exactly? For the sake of your children born or unborn, why can't you leave your myopic bigotry aside and choose the best man for the job at all times? |
With majority in the National Assembly, whatever the North says becomes law of course the ever vulnerable South-East and South-South people (the only true Nigerians) would always be used willingly to ensure the North is happy. How mischievous. When I got to that point I stopped reading. So the South Easterners and South Southerners are the only true Nigerians? By what standard?Besides it's all hear say as there are no quoted sources for his quotes. People should be looking to make the country work, not divide it further. |
This report is riddled with inconsistencies. Total Nigerian budget for 2013 is N5tr. Total Nigerian GDP is about N43Tr. So how could vegetable oil imports alone have been N1Tr? What was the figure for both imports and local production before? N2Tr? That's almost 5% of the entire GDP for just vegetable oil alone. Doesn't make sense. If imports actually fell by N4.2Tr, which is about 10% of our entire GDP, that would have a very profound impact on the value of the naira. Pressure on the money market for dollars would reduce and the naira would appreciate. That obviously has not been the trend in the past year. That's another big hole in this story. And lastly, such significant increase in local production should have a significant impact on the unemployment situation in the country. Last time I heard, large swathes of people are still unemployed. Like I have said before, deal with the power situation and get Ajaokuta working again. Setting those two things right would have a profound impact in altering the manufacturing and real sector trajectory in the country. I think some progress have been made, but these figures don't pan out against the reality on ground. |
ijaw citizen: No wonder this book didn't make it to the Holy Scriptures because it is filled with hate, misconceptions, distortions of facts, delibrate omissions, mischief, deception, historical inaccuracies and more.As Chinua Achebe said, if you don't like another man's story, write your own. We're waiting for you to correct the 'misconceptions' et al |
I used to respect that man a lot. His words were always on point. From his days in Patito's gang to his time at The Guardian, I always thought he was one of the few incorruptible ones we had. It pains me how he's sold his conscience. He used to be on the side of the Nigerian populace, now he's with her oppressors because of what he'll eat. I believed in him so much that when they appointed him and my friends were skeptical, I told them he must have agreed to take the post on the condition that they would give him a free hand to say the truth always. How naive of me. I guess it's true what Abraham Lincoln said: Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power. |
pro01: Sade Okoya and her surgically enhanced oranges. The Nefertiti of Oluwa Ni Sola 'Kingdom' and the Chief Custodian of Razaq Okoya's Phallic treasure. ![]() |
I really can't believe people would support wiping out a community in this fashion, maybe because they are northerners? When the army sacked communities in Odi and Zaki-biam no one thought they were justified to do what they did. Two wrongs don't make a right. If we are a society of law and order, and they had intelligence that some in that community were harboring militants, why not arrest them and put them away in jail? At any rate they are trained soldiers, and they should know better not to kill unarmed civilians especially when it's not a war. What they did can't be justified IMO. We should try not to support lawlessness even if we have a grouse with Boko Haram. You never know where it will hit next. First it was Odi, then Zaki-biam, and now Baga. Tomorrow it might be your village. As the twelfth-century legal theorist Maimonides said "It is better and more satisfactory to acquit a thousand guilty persons than to put a single innocent one to death." |
Good! They should continue ramming it until it penetrates the man's thick skull. We should all have seen through him when he refused to declare his assets. It was only because he knew he would also loot the treasury as he did in Bayelsa. It isn't a matter of being clueless. When you have your hand in the cookie jar how can you tell others to remove their own hands? “Corruption in Nigeria diverts financial resources from building roads, hospitals, schools, and otherwise investing in infrastructure that would serve businesses, attract foreign investment, and create jobs. Ultimately, corruption serves to promote criminal and extremist activity by creating barriers to legitimate economic endeavors,” the ambassador said.If we'd had good governance in the country, the whole militants and boko haram thing would never have come up. These extremist actions are symptoms of the hardships people face while watching shameless "leaders" willfully milk a rich country dry |
Seems like in Nigeria every famous person is "illuminati". wtf? |
How very shameful and sad, coming from a government official whose only motivation is to keep his position. We must refuse to be held hostage by this f00l and his clueless master. As far as I know the last time there was insecurity in the Niger-delta, the nation did not go extinct, so if they want to threaten us with a renewed wave of militancy they can go right ahead. OBJ should have exterminated all the criminal militants when he had the chance. Now they can talk because they are being paid 65K a month. It isn't their fault. The sooner the country gets out of being a single commodity economy, the better for everyone. 1diots! |
pro01: What did IBB steal from you? What is GEJ stealing from you? Mention one (or two) or forever STFU.Another person with sense! They keep asking for "proof", but when they make their claims about others they will not provide one. At best they will post links to newspapers or blogs, as if that will convict anyone in court. As you rightfully said, it is being clever by half. If we keep waiting for hard evidence only Ibori, Alams, Bode George and Tafa would be termed corrupt. Gbawe: You should level that claim appropriately instead of dancing around the truth. The Yorubas do not do that. We were the biggest critics of OBJ, Agagu, Oyinlola, Gbenga Daniel, Oni, Alao Akala and every other 'omo ale' from the region. Even Tinubu and Fashola have many Yoruba critics.Story, story. I have been saying the truth since I could speak, and there is no truer truth than that Tinubu is a corrupt politician. He may have kept ACN alive single-handedly, good for him, but that doesn't change the facts. I noticed that all the people you mentioned are PDP guys . You are a very good party man. No wonder you supported Ribadu before and now it has to be Buhari even though Buhari was there last time. And for the PDP guys you mentioned, any proof? Hard evidence? Forget newspaper publication. That will not convict anyone in court.Do you now see what we've been saying all along? We make our judgements from the stories we hear, what we read, and what we can see for ourselves. I lived in Lag up until 2010, and I have been back there a couple of times since. I stay in touch also, so I ain't a stranger to Lagos politics. My allegiance is to the Nigerian people, and when I see young men willfully following corrupt politicians without thought and then claim they want the best for Naija, I can't help pointing out the hypocrisy. You guys should get your heads off Tinubu's a$$. If you have to follow someone, go with Fashola. He's a much better man. Lagos would have been much more developed today if Tinubu's greed isn't so insatiable. His lust for power is only second to Atiku's. That was why he couldn't decide where to stick his head in 2011, dilly-dallying from Buhari to Ribadu to Jonathan, all to no avail ![]() |
Find Out!:Two thumbs up bro. No mind all the cows! Everyone is busy protecting their regional looters. Tomorrow they will claim to want a better Nigeria. Everyone else is evil except those from their regions. So long as their so-called leaders are the ones looting, spendid! ![]() |
eko ilee: Excuse Excuse and Excuses... Is this not what goofy clowns say when it's obvious they lack facts to back up their ignorant rubbish?https://i705.photobucket.com/albums/ww55/xsirjin/Head_up_ASS.jpg Eko pull your head out of that a$$. Haven't you eaten enough poo already? |
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, warned Nigerians to be wary of such assessments which he described as “parachute researches.”One of those who have sold their souls to their paymasters.... I know a few more here on nl ![]() If they provide proof today he'll still dispute it or find some excuse. See the olodo that's disputing how "scientific" American research is. The same science that made his modern life possible. 1diot ![]() |
Was Tinubu there? |
GenBuhari: Why do they have to drag Abacha's name into it?You have just exposed yourself as a charlatan. So in your deluded mind Abacha was better than OBJ? Abacha that was a proven murderer? Ironically, no one had ever mentioned before that OBJ assassinated people while in office. How do you people live with yourselves defending evil men? Odusanya said, "I believe that a killer squad created during the Abacha regime was kept by Obasanjo and housed at SSS headquarters, known as Yellow House, and was used for political assassinations."I clicked on the link cos I thought the man knew what he was saying. Turns out its just his belief. |
mens dept: This thread is exactly why Nigeria stinks as a nation. Someone who is drunk on Ethnic bigotry or shall I say inferiority complex opens a thread so he can promote the useless states of Ogun and Ekiti that cannot boast of any tangible world class structure. Then he's shamelessly followed by Igbo folks with the same local ethnic wine that want to smuggle in similar useless states of Anambra or Enugu.Bravo bro! ![]() |
Eko Ile: What exactly should Tinubu be sentenced to life for? The offence you are still too lazy and incompetent to come up with or the one you really could pull out of your assess, but again too lazy and incompetent to.Loooooool..... sycophant in chief spitting fire through his a$$ cos his breadwinner is under our keen, observant, anti-corruption microscope ![]() God forbid that I should waste my time trying to prove to you what is common knowledge. Read through this thread alone, you'll find enough. And then there's the indefatigable Gani... Eko, I have told you before and I will keep tormenting you until you change You are too old to be following a well known thief as if you're a ram your children will be ashamed of you. Repent or perish, and while you're at it, remove your head from Tinubu's a$$https://i705.photobucket.com/albums/ww55/xsirjin/Head_up_ASS.jpg |
So it has become a competition on who can loot more public funds? How sad. The Ibos/Ijaws will defend clueless GEJ even if he's looting their collective destiny, and predictably, the Yorubas will, like sheep, defend Tinubu who should be serving a life sentence in a saner world, just to show loyalty. No objectivity anywhere. The money used to educate you sheep is a waste. |
Much as the difference cannot be any clearer, let's not forget that the US is built on institutions that function on autopilot to a large degree. All they need most of the time is a little infusion of energy from the commander-in-chief. A good example is the US budget blueprint which is set over 10 year periods. So no matter who is president, you have just a small wiggle room to do anything radical unless you can get congress and senate to override the previous one, which is never an easy task. One of the troubles with Nigeria is that there are no institutions that can function independently of the political arm. So without a strong leadership at the center, things can go awfully wrong. Even if we get our dream president today, it will take years to build independent, functional institutions like the Labor dept, Federal reserve which oversea monetary policies, FBI, ATF, etc, that can function at their best always. While Obama clearly should take some credit for the resolution of the Boston bombings, he was aided by strong institutions that could have done the job anyway, no matter who is president. |
Lol... people are furious because they cannot impose a thief on our collective psyche. Fashola we know, Buhari we know, Okorocha we know, and we accept them, not because we think they are saints, but because we know FROM THEIR ANTECEDENTS that they mean well for Nigerians and can at least deliver dividends WITHOUT OVERRUNNING the national treasury. Tinubu on the other hand, we do not know and we refuse to accept BASED ON HIS ANTECEDENTS. He is no better than the thieves we currently have in PDP. A man that empties the Lagos treasury into his personal account even after leaving office because OBJ didn't give him the opportunity to do that while he was governor when Lagos funds were illegally withheld. A man who is a billionaire today not because of his industry or investments, but because of his stranglehold on Lagos state treasury. A man who has become a kingmaker in Yorubaland, not because of some wisdom we can ascribe to him, or because of some political astuteness (remember his dilly-dallying with GEJ just before 2011 elections when his own party has a candidate?) but because he uses that ill-gotten wealth to intimidate and silence opponents. Fashola would have done a whole lot more if this greedy thief had not planted himself into the Lagos state treasury bag. We all know the root of the problem Fashola was having with the man early in his tenure when they wanted to impeach him. We are not illiterates. To think I actually voted for him in 2003... So no matter how much Eko and his acolytes (who are actually shameless grown men, unfortunately) scream and shout, we refuse to accept a known thief and certificate forger as our new messiah. It is not a matter of his ethnicity. Buhari we know, Fashola we know, Okorocha we know. Who is Tinubu? |
Eko is lost for words Eko go to sleep, You have earned your pay today. Tomorrow is another day ![]() |
Eko Ile: 1. Some other ignorant loser like you asked why i don't criticize Tinubu even though he was unable to give me one thing worth criticizing the man for and he eventually crumbled under is own idiotic and irrational nonsense.Eko stop calling names and provide answers... You asked for proof, and jumped right in to call another govt corrupt WITHOUT proof. That was why I came in to point out your hypocrisy. Another piece of advice Eko, you're too old to be mindlessly following Tinubu the way you do (no insult meant). It demeans you (even if you're being paid. Surely, you can get a good job somewhere). Grow some balls and learn to think for yourself. You can support someone without the mindless, sheep-like a$$licking. Same advice applies to insincerenigerian btw. This thread shouldn't be turned into a Ibo-Yoruba hate speech. We're merely discussing the suitability of Tinubu as our new messiah based on his antecedents. Let's stick to Tinubu please. |
Eko Ile: You can start by stating categorically that the current administration is not corrupt.Lead by example, Eko. You started the argument of providing proof, and then jumped right in to call the government corrupt, without proof. So lead the way..... and answer the question, if you may, since you're close to saint Tinubu: what was Tinubu's net worth before he became governor, and what business was he involved in as governor that transformed him into a billionaire in 8 years? |
Eko Ile: You speak against people when you have something against them to speak against. So going by your logic, can you state exactly why you are calling those in government corrupt? Please state what they stole (corrupted), when, where and how (to what extent). The burden of proof is on you since you want us to state why we think Tinubu is corrupt. And do provide us with photo or video evidence. Let's judge these cases online. Btw, what was Tinubu's net worth before he became governor, and what business was he involved in as governor that transformed him into a billionaire in 8 years? Eko, even if they put a bullet to your a-hole , you'll be the last person admit that Tinubu is not a saint ![]() |
Eko Ile: Great speech by a great orator.Lol. Never knew Tinubu was an orator. I guess Obama learnt under his tutelage. Btw Eko-ile, if your oga needs a freelance speechwriter from a remote location, contact me. My prices are fair ![]() On a serious note, they should find a short, simple but inspiring logo and slogan that we can all identify with and also dispose of the broom ![]() |
OAM4J: Having two strong parties is good for the polity. At least Nigerians have a choice of voting the lesser evil party at every point in time, thereby forcing the more evil party to start doing more good than evil in other to regain power. Overall the citizens will be better for it. This of course is only true if majority of the people do not vote on some stupid sentiments only.My thoughts exactly. I pray they succeed and become as strong as PDP. I hope they are able to field exciting candidates with some pedigree in public or private service. I hope that to a good extent they allow party process and primaries to pick the best candidates. I hope they realize that we have high hopes that when they do get into power they will do better, much better to help us forget all the years of PDP misrule. Their allegiance should be to the Nigerian populace. APC over to you. Help awaken the sleeping giant that Nigeria is! |
