PoliticsI Am Willing To Give Up PDP Chairmanship For This Reason – Ali Modu Sheriff by nesta007(op): 5:44am On Feb 20, 2017
Ali Modu Sheriff who won the PDP chairmanship tussle has made a shocking announcement after the long battle.

Ali Modu Sheriff

Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, who described the judgement by the Port Harcourt Court of Appeal on Friday, February 17, as a victory for the party also revealed that he could relinquish the chairmanship. Sheriff said that the interest of the party supplants his office as the national chairman, then he proclaimed: “I am willing to relinquish the position for the party to move forward into achieve its goals.”

While speaking with journalists in Abuja he also said: “I consult other leaders of our party to see how we can organise our national convention, to stop our division and leadership tussle.” Meanwhile, following his win, the newly reinstated chairman of the PDP, vowed to deal with Rivers state governor, Nyesome Wike, and his Ekiti state counterpart, Ayo Fayose. Sheriff made the statement on Friday, February 17, after the Appeal Court in Port Harcourt reinstated him as the lawful national chairman of the PDP. The former governor of Borno state also vowed to restructure the PDP saying “such that characters like Wike and Fayose cannot find a way through to attain any position of prominence in our party in the future.”

The court sitting in sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, on Friday, February 17, declared the decision taking at the May 21 Port Harcourt convention of the party as null and void, Tribune reports.

The three judges presiding over the case in a unanimous decision agreed that Modu Sheriff is the chairman of the PDP.

This judgement will bring an end the leadership crisis rocking the main opposition party, as both factional chairmen Senators Ahmed Makarfi and Ali Modu Sheriff, have both laid claim to be the authentic representative of the party.

PoliticsIMF Report Indicates, Nigeria’s Economy Back On Track, Overtakes S/africaig by nesta007(op): 12:10pm On Oct 20, 2016
A new report from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has projected Nigeria as Africa’s biggest economy, in spite of its current challenges.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Nigeria is placed ahead of South Africa and Egypt which are second and third respectively.

In August, Nigeria was reported to have lost its position as Africa’s biggest economy to South Africa, following the recalculation of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

IMF had downgraded Nigeria’s economy vis-à-vis South Africa’s as a consequence of the sustained loss suffered by the naira against the dollar while the rand, on the other hand, had gained against the dollar.

Specifically, the rand gained more than 16 per cent against the dollar between January and August 2016, while the naira lost more than a third of its value after the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) removed a currency peg in June.

While the two economies had faced serious challenges since the beginning of the year as a result of dwindling value of commodities, the impact was more on the Nigerian economy as it shrank by 0.4 per cent in the first quarter as a result low oil prices and output as well as shortage of foreign currency to sustain imports. On the contrary, South African economy contracted by 0.2 per cent from a year earlier as farming and mining output declined.

As a result, the IMF then scaled down the value of Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which was $510 billion in 2015, to $296 billion, a contraction of about 42 per cent. Although the South African economy was also scaled down, the contraction was comparatively marginal from $370billion to $310 billion. With that South African economy moved to the first position as the largest on the continent.

South Africa had lost the prized position to Nigeria in 2013 after the rebasing of Nigeria’s economy.

But the IMF’s World Economic Outlook for October, puts Nigeria’s GDP at 415.08 billion dollars, while South Africa’s GDP was put at 280.36 billion dollars.

According to the report, Egypt’s 2016 data is not available, but its 2015 size remained at 330.159 dollars while that of Algeria, one of the largest economies on the continent, is put at 168.318 billion dollars.

The United States, China and Japan maintain their spots as the largest economies in the world, ahead of Germany, United Kingdom and France.

According to a review in September, the current economic recession will outlast 2016, with a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) contraction of 1.7 per cent.

The IMF had predicted that Nigeria’s economy would grow away from a recession in 2017.

The country last witnessed a recession, for less than a year, in 1991, and experienced a prolonged one that started in 1982 and lasted until 1984.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration has so far disbursed over N700 billion in capital expenditure this year, part of a record N6.06 trillion (30 billion dollars) budget for 2016.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government has said that Nigeria could lead and take over from the most recognized countries in the world, if it utilised the enormous power of science and technology to attain remarkable achievements in industrialization, military capability, economic prosperity and social harmony.

It said Nigeria, being the most populous nation in Africa could take the lead and show what China achieved for Asia, the United States of America for North America, if Nigeria sought for the diversification of her economy in a sustainable and competitive manner by deploying science and technology as an instrument for economic growth.

The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu stated this at the 1st African Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Sciences with the theme, “Appropriate Biomedical Technology for Africa”, organised by the National Association of Biomedical Sciences of Nigeria, held at the Nicon luxury Hotel, Abuja.

Dr Onu, in his keynote address, said that Nigeria was placing stronger emphasis on deploying biomedical engineering and sciences to develop innovative technologies.

This deployment, according to him, when fully operational, would create a new class of scientists and engineers that would strengthen the role of biomedical engineering in health care delivery and management.

He reiterated the commitment of President Buhari’s administration to promote innovative technologies that would reduce import dependence, enhance local content and strengthen self-sufficiency.

The minister then challenged the participants to critically examine the role that biomedical engineering and sciences could play in strengthening Africa’s search for its own identity and place of honour in the world, saying that,” the time has come for us to work as hard as we can in the pursuit of our peoples happiness, in a competitive world”.

Earlier in his address, the Deputy President of the International body, Professor Ir. Marc Nysenn, called on Africa to develop her technological innovations through harnessing her natural resources and intellects domiciled in the continent through biomedical engineering and sciences to make it a hub for Africa, as a developing economy.

PoliticsNigerian Govt Says Boko Haram Ready To Negotiate Release Of 83 More Chibok Girls by nesta007(op): 8:46pm On Oct 16, 2016
Boko Haram has expressed its willingness to negotiate the release 83 more Chibok girls, presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, said Sunday, days after the release of 21 abducted girls.
In an interview with Reuters Foundation, Mr. Shehu said leaders of the Islamic State-affiliated group released 21 girls on Thursday to assure the Buhari administration their faction held the girls.
“These 21 released girls are supposed to be tale bearers to tell the Nigerian government that this faction of Boko Haram has 83 more Chibok girls,” Mr. Shehu said. “The faction said it is ready to negotiate if the government is willing to sit down with them.”
Nearly 300 Chibok school girls were abducted by the sect in April 2014.
President Buhari has repeatedly said he would be willing to negotiate with the group if its genuine leaders are identified.
The Boko Haram faction said the remaining kidnapped Chibok girls were with another faction of the sect controlled Abubakar Shekau, Reuters Foundation quoted Mr. Shehu as saying.
Boko Haram has apparently split into at least two factions.
One is believed to be controlled by the elusive leader, Mr. Shekau, and another by Musab al-Barnawi, who is said to be the son of the group’s founder, Mohammed Yusuf.

The conditions for the release of the 21 girls on Thursday are not yet clear.
The Information Minister, Lai Mohammed, on Thursday, denied reports that the government had swapped captured Boko Haram fighters for their release and said he was not aware if any ransom had been paid.
President Muhammadu Buhari said in Germany he was not informed of what the government traded for the girls.
He said he would receive full briefing after arriving in Nigeria this week.

PoliticsSenator Alasoaduro Begs APC National Leader Tinubu Over Ondo Governorship Poll by nesta007(op): 3:31am On Oct 05, 2016
Senator Tayo Alasoadura, the embattled Nigerian senator representing Ondo Central in the National Assembly has pleaded with the National Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to work for the victory of the party in the November 26th, 2016 governorship election in Ondo state. Alasoadura, known for his foul-mouthed utterances made the plea on Monday while speaking with journalists in Akure, over the dust raised by the emergence of Rotimi Akeredolu as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state.
Alasoadura, known for his foul-mouthed utterances made the plea on Monday while speaking with journalists in Akure, over the dust raised by the emergence of Rotimi Akeredolu as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state.

Alasoadura specifically begged the party’s National Leader, Bola Tinubu describing him as one of the leaders that has made a landmark in the regional Southwest politics of the country.

Although Mr. Alasoadura acknowledged that there are issues between him and Mr. Tinubu he, however, noted that what is currently at stake is how to win the November 26th, 2016 governorship election for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state.

“What is gone is bygone and am looking forward to the future, but he (Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu) is our leader, and he will remain our leader, and he represents the leadership in the Southwest.

“I take him (Tinubu) has my leader, and I will represent him anywhere or everywhere because Asiwaju is a focused leader, he follows his heart, and that had also brought him forward to where he’s today.

“I pray one of this days we will sit down and talk and I will ask him ‘my leader what have I done, that you have not done before’ that is the question I will ask him anytime I have time to sit down with him,” he said.

The embattled senator who is also a chieftain of the APC in the state regretted the internal crisis rocking the opposition party in the state, which has further polarized the members since the emergence of Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu as the party’s governorship candidate.

He acknowledged that the emergence of Mr. Akeredolu as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state has again led to division within the members of the opposition party in the state.

He also added that danger of not halting immediately all attitudes working against the victory of the APC in the November 2016 governorship election in Ondo state would be dangerous to the wellbeing of the people and members of the party.

“We want to plead with our leaders at the National level wholeheartedly and more importantly our dear Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and all other concerned citizens to candidly bear with us and our idiosyncrasies in Ondo state”, the beleaguered senator said.

Mr. Alasoadura pleaded the aggrieved aspirants of the party who contested during the September 3rd, 2016 governorship primary election to bury the hatchet and work for the success of the party in the November poll.

“What is, therefore, reasonable to do is to move on so that posterity will not judge us harshly for sacrificing the good for our people on the altar of personal aspirations.

“In the light of the foregoing, we passionately plead with all aspirants in the governorship primary election, all leaders and members of APC in Ondo state to embrace peace and let us collectively work for the success of our candidate.”

He called on all supporters and members of the APC in the state to rally behind Mr. Akeredolu noting that the party was prepared to win landslide the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

“We cannot afford to be in opposition to the government of President Muhammadu Buhari for the sake of one man who had eight years worked for himself and cared for his heart alone” Mr. Alasoadura further said referring to Ondo state governor, Olusegun Mimiko

The APC chieftain maintained that the opposition party would wrestle power from the PDP in the state adding that the defection of Mr. Olusola Oke from the party to the new Alliance for Democracy (AD) cannot affect the party’s chances in winning the November governorship poll.

Brazil’s Senate has voted in favour of permanently removing President Dilma Rousseff from her office, in an impeachment trial set to end 13 years of leftist rule in the country, Al Jazeera reports.

Sixty-one of 81 senators voted against Rousseff on Wednesday after a five-day trial and a lengthy overnight debate.

“Today is the day that 61 men, many of them charged and corrupt, threw 54 million Brazilian votes in the garbage,” Rousseff tweeted minutes after the decision.

In a separate vote senators decided not to ban Rousseff from seeking a public office for the next eight years.

Al Jazeera reported that Rousseff was watching the session from the presidential palace and would speak a couple of hours after the vote at a news conference.

She also said that the case was not expected to go any further as the charges were political, not criminal.

Allies of Rousseff have signalled that they would take the case to the Supreme Court. But several motions filed to the country’s highest court throughout the impeachment proceedings have failed.

Rousseff’s former vice-president turned rival Michel Temer, 75, was sworn in as president on Wednesday until the next scheduled election in late 2018.

Rousseff, from the leftist Workers’ Party, is accused of taking illegal state loans to patch budget holes in 2014, masking the country’s problems as it slid into its deepest recession in decades.

She told the Senate that she was innocent, saying the impeachment trial amounted to a right-wing coup d’etat.

Rousseff asserted that impeachment was the price she paid for refusing to quash a wide-ranging police investigation into the state oil company Petrobras, saying that corrupt politicians conspired to oust her to derail the investigation into billions in kickbacks at the oil giant.

She said it was “an irony of history” that she would be judged for crimes she did not commit, by people accused of serious crimes.

The Workers’ Party under Rousseff and her predecessor Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is credited with raising around 29 million Brazilians out of poverty.

But many now blame the party and Rousseff in particular for the country’s multiple ills.

PoliticsGej The HERO Of Democracy... by nesta007(op): 7:01pm On Jul 19, 2016
IF YOU SAY BUHARI IS A DICTATOR, WITHOUT LOOTING YOUR MONEY , WHAT WILL YOU CALL JONATHAN AFTER READING THIS?

1-Where were the common sense Senator and the wailers when Senate invited Deziani over N10B for chartering of private jet and Jonathan openly ask her not to honour the invitation?

2-Then President Jonathan sacked the President of the Appeal court because he refused to compromise on the case involving the ruling party and ruling that forensic examination be allowed on materials used for the 2011 Presidential election. Even when the NJC asked that he be reinstated, Jonathan refused yet, he is your HERO OF DEMOCRACY.

3-Why didn't we hear noise calling Jonathan a dictator when house of Rep was locked up in the bid to impeach Tambuwal and we saw Rep members flying over fence and gates with some even tear gassed by the Jonathan police?

4-All the security details attached to then Speaker of House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal were withdrawn by the Federal Government led by Jonathan yet, you still didn't see any reason not to worship him.

5-Bode George was tried in the law court and he was jailed for two years and served the term. Saint Jonathan came and asked the court to reversed that judgement that later said Bode George wasn't guilty as charged and he became an innocent and not ex convict but till date Bode never sued for damages.

6-For weeks in 2014, the Governor of Kano State kept shouting that security aides posted to watch over the state house were recalled as a result of orders from above, not once did you accuse Jonathan of tyranny.

7- For appointing Sanusi Lamido as Emir of Kano which was within the rights and powers of the Kano State Government, Jonathan ordered security agents to lay siege at the Emir's palace. For days, the Emir operated from the Kano State Government House. You didn't call Jonathan by the dictatorship that he was acting out then.

8-For the first and only time in the history of Nigeria we had a first lady that also picked up position as the perm sec in the president state without working to attained such position. What did the wailers do?

9- Jonathan withdrew the security details attached to then Governor Amaechi, Jonathan grounded the plane of Amaechi, Jonathan masterminded and hugely supported the division and crisis in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Jonathan allowed his wife to govern Rivers from Abuja, Jonathan used Mbu to embarrass and harass a sitting Governor, Jonathan crippled Rivers because Amaechi was the Governor yet, you still see Jonathan as a demigod.

10- In this same country, we saw how Jonathan supported the destruction of the once vibrant Governors' Forum by supporting 16 against 19 yet, you see him as one decent man who should be seen as a Hero.

11-We have not forgotten how Jonathan used state power to prevent sitting Governors from reaching a part of the country to support the reelection of one of their own because they were in the opposition and you who is laying claim to fairness and pretending to love Democracy still claim you miss this same character.

12-It was in this country under Jonathan the saint that we saw for the first time the military ambushed daily news papers distributions. They were seized and destroyed without explanations. Yet Jonathan wasn't tagged a tyrant

13-In this same country, we saw the circulation of an undisputed video by an army officer detailing how soldiers were used to rig the election in Ekiti State to favour the thug governing the state today and yet, you see same Jonathan who was Commander in Chief of all these barbarism as decent enough to be called a hero.

14- In his desperation to see the Governor Nyako impeached, The Presidency under Jonathan had the accounts of Adamawa State frozen. A State Government account oh and not personal account of the Governor and not once did you condemn the action nor call Jonathan the dictator he clearly was then.

15-Same Jonathan you can almost worship today single handedly denied his then state Governor the right to seek the nomination of his party because he had personal grievances against him yet, you never for once accused him of abuse of power.

16-It is in Nigeria we saw how a serving Senator was shot at in a political gathering by the Nigeria police that are supposed to protect our law makers and such Senator is lucky to be alive today after been flown abroad for treatment.

17-For the first time in our history as a country, the CBN Governor was unilaterally sacked by the President without following the due process of our law because he asked questions regarding careless stealing of the nation's money supervised and supported by Jonathan yet, you never called Jonathan the dictator he clearly was.

18-Under Jonathan was when we witness how 5 house of assembly members out of 32 almost impeached a sitting governor that lead to serious fracas.

PoliticsHow We Arrived At N145 Price For Fuel, By Government by nesta007(op): 9:36am On May 13, 2016
• Minister says new regime to save N16.5b monthly
• Labour mobilises for protest, meets today
Amid threats of protest by labour, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachiukwu, and the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) have offered explanations on how the Federal Government arrived at N145 as the price of a litre of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) otherwise known as petrol. They assured that the new price regime would block the drain through which government loses N16.5 billion monthly.

While the minister, whose announcement on Wednesday kicked off the new regime, said the price was based on foreign exchange conversion of naira to the dollar, the PPPRA put the calculations on its latest pricing template.

There were indications yesterday that the organised labour movement and its civil society allies may begin a protest against the new regime . The National Executive Councils (NECs) of both the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) are set to meet today to deliberate on the outlook of the protest.

Kachiukwu, who spoke on a television programme yesterday, said government arrived at the new price by “a simple conversion of using foreign exchange at N285. That N285 is from nowhere; it is basically the secondary source that people buy foreign exchange from, versus the N320, which is the black market rate.

“If you convert it and throw it in, you will get about N141, N142 or N143. So there aren’t much of palliative elements left there for you to use. It is simply, ‘go out, find your product, your cost is covered, there is an opportunity for your efficiency to make money, come and deliver.’”

But according to the PPPRA’s pricing template, the cost elements include cost/freight, N109.01; lightering expenses, N4.56; Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) charges, N0.84; NIMASA charges, N0.22; financing, N2.51; jetty thru’put charges, N0.60 and storage charge, N2.00, which brings the landing cost to N119.74.

The landing cost is added to distribution margins, which are retailers, N6.00; transporters allowance, N3.36; dealers, N2.36; bridging fund, N6.20; marine transport average, N0.15; and admin charges, N18.37, bringing the total distribution charges to N18.37.

According to the PPPRA, the addition of the landing cost of N119.74 to total distribution margins of N18.37 gives a total cost of N138.11 per litre, putting the price at between N135 and N145.

Kachikwu justified the government decision saying, “We want everybody to be able to bring in the products. We want to achieve what was achieved in the marketing of diesel so that government will also not have intervention in petrol. Ultimately, we will let the market dynamics take place.

“In the past few months, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), imported the products largely subsidised, but the marketers took advantage and made excess profits. With this new system, they are going to start bringing in their own products and NNPC can sell its own products at its own price. So, there are no more opportunities for the short-term arbitrages unless those benefits in price come from your own efficiency

“What has happened is that we have provided an opportunity in the country for people to take advantage of government’s liberalisation policies and subsidies and make huge sums of money and this can have positive impact on the common man on the street.

“The reality is that if we let the environment free for people to operate you will be amazed at what will happen with pricing. I will almost take a bet with you that in six month’s time when you review this price, you will be amazed at what will happen to the N145 price.

“We discovered that queues would continue to happen until we address the issues. We do share sympathy and pains but as a responsible government, we must take decision to try and solve problems. We have come to see that if you free Nigerians to find sources of funds, they will find those secondary funds and import products, the burden on NNPC will reduce and the country will have peace and the suffering will go permanently.

“Extra earnings that NNPC makes through that avenue will be pumped into refineries, because our refining infrastructure are completely decayed. We mean well, Nigerians should please trust us. Give us support and you will be surprised.”

Also dwelling on the benefits of the new regime, the PPPRA said that government had been able to permanently eliminate subsidy payments, which was N1 trillion and had been able to save about N16 billion from April this year to date.

It noted that the current development would ensure 100 per cent FAAC payment on allocated 445,000 bpd and potential additional revenue stream, which can be tailored towards palliatives.

The agency said that even with the new price regime, Nigeria would remain one of the cheapest fuel markets in Africa and could even be lower, once competition takes effect, stressing, “Likelihood of smuggling to neighbouring countries will also be significantly reduced with the new price regime.”

An informed source told The Guardian last night in Abuja that the need for the labour movement to firm up mobilisation and contact and also the meeting of the two NECs were cited as the reasons the strike would not be called immediately.

Meanwhile, facts are now emerging on factors that influenced government’s decision to jerk up the pump price.
A policy document exclusively obtained in Abuja yesterday by The Guardian revealed that renewed insurgency and vandalism in the Niger Delta region which have drastically reduced crude oil production to 1.65 million barrels per day, reduction of money accruing to the Federation Account as well as crude volumes for petrol conversion, which is also impacting Federal Government foreign exchange earnings, were responsible.

The document read in part: “Renewed insurgency and pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta has drastically reduced national crude oil production to 1.65 million barrels per day as at today, against 2.2 million barrels per day planned in the 2016 budget. Further reduction in income to Federation Account is also affecting crude volumes for PMS conversion and impacting foreign exchange earnings.”

The document also stressed that the resultant fuel scarcity created an abnormal increase in price, resulting in Nigerians paying averages of N150–N300 per litre as prevalent hoarding, smuggling and diversion of products, have reduced volumes made available to citizens

Nigerians have begun to adjust to the new realities of petrol price adjustment with many of the filling stations immediately adjusting their pump and price display to between N140 and N145 per litre.

Already, the six months old queue has automatically vanished at some filling stations about 24 hours after the announcement and marketers have immediately effected new prices and are magically selling from all pumps, as against the initial method of rationing.

The Guardian’s visit to Mobil, NIPCO, Forte Oil and Conoil filling stations along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway showed that all were selling at N145 per litre, while Danco Oil at Iyana-Ipaja, was selling at N140 per litre.

Other stations visited were MRS, Total, and some NNPC stations, which were also selling at N145 per litre. All the visited fuel stations are in Lagos.

However about 40 per cent of the filling stations in the area of survey were still under lock and key while commuters were already paying higher fares as commercial transporters increased fares by about 100 percent.

PoliticsHow Saraki Created A Fake Saharareporters Website And Facebook Page by nesta007(op): 1:36am On Apr 16, 2016
The publisher of Sahara Reporters has accused Nigeria’s Senate President, Bukola Saraki, of cloning his newspaper and stealing his brand identities to create fake versions of his website.
Sahara Reporters, a U.S.-based news website, with special focus on Nigeria, said it believed the Nigerian senate president, who is facing charges of false asset declaration, is masterminding the proliferation of imitation of cloned versions of the newspaper aimed at circulating lies to the public while disguising as Sahara Reporters.

The publisher, Omoyele Sowore, said his team had so far blocked three fake websites since January 2015. He said the faking websites were blocked from Google, Web4Africa and Twitter.

“The only one left is a Facebook account,” Mr. Sowore said.

The outstanding fake account is named Sahara Reporters Rescue.

Checks by PREMIUM TIMES showed that it had assumed the branding features of the original Sahara Reporters with insignificant modifications.

Mr. Sowore said Sahara Reporter Rescue had succeeded in deceiving about 30 thousand people while circulating contents praising and defending Mr. Saraki.

Its bio is an exact copy-and-paste version of the original Sahara Reporters.

“I know Saraki is directly behind it,” Mr. Sowore said, explaining that he was only concerned the public might mistake the page for the original Sahara Reporters.

Identity theft is an emerging fraud in the Nigerian cyberspace, mainly used by politicians to clone digital identities of critical media house with the aim of using the clone to pass down propagandist inform, faking endorsement.

It is a form of cyber attack that utilizes deception, rather than the brute force of DDoS attacks.

PREMIUM TIMES was a victim of similar attacks. The latest is by individuals linked to the current governor of River State, Nyesom Wike.

While many other digital businesses treat identity theft with urgency and seriousness, Facebook is notorious for being slow in checking the crime.

Facebook’s clumsy reporting process and policy make fighting clones and replicas almost impossible for victims.

The suspected pirate

The suspected pirate is Osinuga Oriola Mcleish, a blogger and member of the Kwara All Progressives Congress. Although Mr. Osinuga denies the crime, investigations by PREMIUM TIMES traced his digital footprints on the downed websites and the fake Sahara Reporters Facebook Page.

“I don’t know anything about it,” Mr. Osinuga said before hanging up during an interview.

Mr. Saraki’s new media team also denied involvement in the crime.

“Sahara Reporters is not that important for me to waste my time on,” Bankole Omishore, a new media aide to the Senate President told PREMIUM TIMES. “We no longer monitor Sahara Reporters.”

Mr. Omishore said Sahara Reporters had been critical of his boss, claiming the newspaper was hired to promote propaganda to sack Mr. Saraki.

The publisher of Sahara Reporters denies any personal grievances with the senate president, saying , “I only have beef with thieves.”

“I’ve been covering Saraki since 2005 with the same tenacity I covered (James) Ibori,” he said. “I know very well he (Saraki) has stolen a lot of money and should not be Nigeria’s number three man.”

CelebritiesExclusive: Sister Of Late Doctor Killed In Accident Caused By Ibinabo Fiberesima by nesta007(op): 3:44pm On Mar 16, 2016
Biola Giwa-Adeyemi is late Dr Giwa's sister and she wanted to shed more light on the case between Ibinabo Fiberersima Vs Lagos State. Read what she sent in below...
First of all, the case was between Lagos state Government Vs Ibinabo Febresima but not Giwa Vs Ibinabo Febresima. On this faithful day of Feb 26th 2006 along the Lekki Epe Express way, my late brother Dr Giwa was driving with his brother and another family friend in his car coming from a meeting in Ajah, they were held up in a traffic around the evening time, when this tragic accident happened.

Ibinabo was driving towards Lekki while the late Dr Giwa was coming from the other direction facing towards Island, just by shop-rite, when ibinabo's jeep flipped and lost control from her lane jumped over the culvert or pavement  that demarcate the road from the on coming vehicle. The speed that skipped and flipped a jeep  over the road demarcation will be considered "Reckless and Endangerment" because the VIO dept checked the jeep brakes, the engine and all the mechanical and electrical of the jeep but the result shows nothing wrong with the jeep and confirm that the accident as due to "OVER SPEEDING" in which the result was on record.

After the accident, Ibinabo left the scene of the accident without checking for any survivors, she took the license plate and registration out of the car and fled from the scene, that was considered "HIT AND RUN". The people at the scene of the accident recognized her as Ibinabo Febresima, and stated she was drunk."Driving Under Influence" of whatever she had. The State Department of Transportation has to use the VIN number to locate the Owner of the jeep, in which the owner was Daniel Wilson. That was my very first time of hearing the name of Ibinabo Febresima. The Doctor died at the scene of the accident because the jeep was on top of the Honda accord driven by him and they couldn't save him on time because of the seat belt and the weight of the jeep, the brother and the other family friend in that car had survived. Did she know the state of mind and the emotional instability of the people involved in that accident up till now, Ibinabo has never been in a Comma.
After all the evidences against her, with the result of the VIO by the State department of Transportation, The DPP office took over and charged her to court and she hired Festus Kiamo in which after reviewing the case he withdrew by saying he cannot represent her because it's a bad case.

Doctor Giwa has a living mother for goodness sake, wife with 3 children's, Ibinabo deprived him from seeing his children graduate from university and getting married, also from being the one to bury his mother at her old age, "Whereas no one ever prayed that on the day of their children's success and happiness they should replaced them with someone else".
Ibinabo was never remorseful, they brought her to meet with me shortly after my brother's death in GRA Ikeja before my return back to the USA, but her only concern then was to drop the charges against her. I told her that it's not my family Vs her but the State Vs her, that where I come from in USA that we do not interfere with the justice system, that they should do their job and advise her to apologize publicly to the masses and to the family and throw herself to the mercy of the court. She said and l quote "I CAN'T DO THAT, BECAUSE IS GOING TO DAMAGE MY CAREER" what an ego, she cannot apologize publicly, I feel like kicking her ass. She's worried about her stupid career, What happened to the career of the Doctor, who happened to be a 'MEDICAL DIRECTOR AND THE HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL REHABILITATION MEDICINE AT GENERAL HOSPITAL LAGOS.
People say there is no justice in Nigeria, but it does once in awhile. The lower court magistrate O.A Isaac found her guilty with the option of 100,000.00 Naira, which is considered a judicial recklessness, 100k does not even buy an iPad, the life of someone does not worth more that 100k, so that people will take the liberty of committing crimes.  Later Justice Deborah Oluwayemi of the High court find her guilty and overturn the option of fine and gave her 5 yrs in prison, she spent 3 weeks and came out on bail to go to Court of Appeal, however, how can a convicted person came out on bail, here in USA you will be in jail and they will transport you to and from each time you have an hearing. Finally Appeal court found her guilty and sentence her to 5 years imprisoned.
Let her face the wrath, it is said that you can run but can't hide, it's a law of Kama that catch up, This will serve as a deterrent to others. Who will believe after 10yrs she will still be slammed, The Family of the late Dr Giwa had moved on with our life's, She was forgiven, it was very difficult and painful, but God gave us especially his mother and children the fortitude to bear the loss.
On behalf of our families and friends, we really thank the Lagos State Government, The attorney general Mr Sasore, DPP Mrs Odutola and colleagues, Justice Deborah Oluwayemi, Justice Jamilu Yammama Tukur, Justice U.I Udukwe-Anyawu and Justice Tijani Abubakar and everyone for their support, no evil shall befall anyone, as you all go out and come in, may God's grace and protection abide with each and everyone. 'JUSTICE AT LAST' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  JUSTICE AT LAST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  JUSTICE IS FINALLY DONE !!!!!!!!!!!!.
"IBINABO HAS NEVER PAID A DIME TO ANY FAMILY MEMBER OF THE LATE DR GIWA AS INDICATED BY HER FRIEND'S, AND IF SHE DID PAY ANY FAMILY MEMBER, SHE NEEDS TO START MENTIONING NAMES NOW".

Many Nigerians disagreed when Vice President Yemi Osinbajo said that the Federal government in the last 10 years have not constructed a single road in the last 10 years. His spokesperson, Laolu Akande, has asked Nigerians to name road projects completed by the past administrations in the last 10yrs.
