Am I the only one still looking for what is wrong with the couples?

I as a guy love to it when we argue about everything. No argument and picking on each other? Your life is definitely boring. Over time, you get used to it. Talking back at each other is fun, though it can be draining. Just eat belle full sha.

I love it more when temper starts to fly. I've had some females like that. It just feels good to annoy them

That's because your father ain't Einstein. So the fuel price that came down was a curse to you according to your father's theory? Of course I am not advocating I.Q tests as prerequisite for procreation.

He said nothing about prices not coming down.... just being able to afford it either way it goes. Going by this your comment, the IQ testing won't be good for you

Truth is that exchange rate isn't a determinant of how good an economy is. For instance, Ghana cedis exchanges higher than the Chinese currency and Korean won and that doesn't mean Ghana has a better economy. Another example is the Kuwait Dina which exchanges for almost $1000/dinar. During the said time, very few people can afford to buy a car even when it sold for #4000. But we have folks buying used cars today for tens of millions.

Having said the above, it's undeniable that Nigeria didn't have potential back in the day. It's just that we had lots of petrodollars and less population and the government then was able to do her job without borrowing like today. Forget all the glorious tales our parents told us about how quick you can get jobs. That's because there were fewer graduates then. We need total overhaul of this country
Total overhaul is not a thing.

Be specific... what and what are you overhauling?

My brother, this not being specific is how some people became president after screaming up and down with passion. Las las, things only got worse. This is the same issue I have with those revolution now guys

He's not worth $1bn.

The post clearly states that he has earned $1bn in his career. Those are two different things entirely.

What you have earned in your entire career is not what you are worth. The value of your assets is your worth. I didn't say net worth, which puts your liability into consideration.

Stop using Nigerian banks, you won't listen. If any Nigerian company has a South African competitor in Nigeria, use that competitor. Whether it's mobile network, Internet service, banking, Insurance, avoid Nigerian companies if you can. They're very complacent in Nigeria. Maybe they're better outside Nigeria, but definitely not in Nigeria.

In this case, use Stanbic IBTC bank

They are not legally divorced. Child custody is part of divorce proceedings. She should file for divorce in court. In the filing, she should demand for child custody, among other things

Should we build a statue for her?
Over domestic violence?

It seems most "educated" women ALWAYS see something as bad when it's not in their favour, but are ready to do those same things they deemed bad.

Men are being played by the society into thinking that letting go of some of their privileges would create equality. Whereas, women are lurking by eager to take over those very same privileges they despised in men.

The man's loss is the woman's gain. That is not equality. It's all about turning the table. Disgusting

Calling me a weakling won't change the facts on ground.
If the reverse is the case today, you will be calling the woman a prostitute and be praising this same man for doing worse than this.

The man endured the rubbish out of guilt and the woman did what she did because she felt hurt and was in pain.

Don't hurt people, everyone reacts to pain differently.

As for calling me a weakling, I've come to understand long time ago that those who claim to be tigers on internet are cats in real lives so no offence taken.
Men are NEVER praised for slapping a woman or abusing her. It's so bad that most men will even castigate you for retaliating against a woman.

Get your facts right. Put sentiment aside. This is domestic violence

Domestic violence is what some people are hailing here. If it was the woman at the receiving end, we go still dey reason the matter.

If a woman slap you, slap her back on the spot. Don't waste time thinking about it.

You are a new boss. That is why you think this way. What you just pointed out is called an exception to the norm.

Let me save a new boss from ignorance. You will learn as you age
And by your username, I see why you think the way you do.

Look, people save money for specific things. People plan their money. Do you even bother to find out exactly why some people went bankrupt? It has nothing to do with cars or jets or shiny things. It has to do with unhealthy debts. Yes, the kind of debt Nigeria is currently acquiring.

Stop letting poverty control the way you think. It always ends with an unhealthy lifestyle and a fat bank account. That money belongs to you, you should not belong to the money. It's unhealthy.

Have a target and stick to it. Make sure you are not being shortchanged by that your target. Don't be trekking while saving to buy house. It's financially sound to rent. In fact, a house could easily turn to a money pit: property tax, maintenance, insurances, etc. You cannot run away from those. It's okay to rent. Don't let your ego fool you.

Enough talk already

your net worth is really everything you own of significance (your assets) minus what you owe in debts (your liabilities). Assets include cash and investments, your home and other real estate, cars or anything else of value you own.
Loan is also an asset. Loan repayment is an expense.

Anyone that spends 20m to buy a car out of a 100m deal won't think the way your saying. It's when the money is down to 40m that his eyes will clear. I'm an estate agent and I know what am saying.
FGN Bond pays at least 10% a year. Put that 80m there you get at least 8m every year while the 80m remains untouched. If you think that's not enough, then you're very greedy.

Applause. In fact standing ovation. I and my wife saved almost a year to buy a car for 3.5m, when our brothers and sisters were disturbing us to "buy land, buy land", "you are living in rented apartment". My response is everybody spend your money the way you like. Now we're saving to buy our own house, not just land.
Everybody with their poison sir
Exactly,

1+2+3+4=10

4+3+2+1= 10

Las las, any road you take, you still arrive at that same 10. Buying your first Ferrari at 60 years because you wanted to buy house first? It's a sign the person didn't grow up well. What is life expectancy in Nigeria again? Some people don't know that cars are also adult toys, not just means of transportation. Enjoy it while you're young.

Kudos!

You may be right and wrong.

It all depends on your networth. If you bought an 800,000 car as a young white collar worker, it might seem very prudent.

If however, if you're worth 100m and you're drinking a 20m Toyota jeep, then you're reckless.

I heard of a guy who made 100m in a property transaction and spent 20m on a Lexus jeep. An 8m car would have done.
Because he likes the car and can afford it. It's not hard to understand.

Not everyone cares about what you care about, same way you don't care about what he cares about.
Car Talk › Re: Total Value Of Your Cars Relative To Your Net Worth by Newboss(m): 2:25pm On Apr 29, 2020
NaijaFutbol:
Good point

The truth is that a car is hardly an asset and the perception of worth depends on what it is bringing in for you.

If you are worth 4m and you invest 2m in a car to use for Uber, that May be 50% but it sure doesn’t make you irresponsible. If your luxury car gives you access to and wins you confidence of clients in your business, then it may not be a stupid idea to own such.

Also, you may go higher than 20% to avoid buying problems. A heavily degraded car may cost less now but it’s maintenance may drain the owner.

The problem is buying a car as a symbol of wealth. Borrowing to buy a car just because you can borrow or because you want to “belong”; that is the poverty mentality.

For a normal family car, 20% of net worth looks like a good benchmark. But the worth depreciates by half once you drive it out of the dealership.

Keep that in mind.
The worth of a car doesn't depreciate by half once you drive it out of the dealership.

Do some research and save yourself from ignorance. A lot of cars can hold value for a couple of years. Especially luxury cars. If you buy a 2020 luxury model this year and sell it next year, you will be shocked how much you'll get for it. You can't sell it for the same price you bought it since it's considered used, except it's a very rare car.
Romance › Re: Girls Who Sleep With Married Men by Newboss(m): 1:09pm On Apr 22, 2020
See, let me tell you the truth. Married or single, a man is a man, and a woman is a woman.

All it takes to be married is to sign a paper. All it takes to be unmarried is to sign a paper. In some societies, if you and your spouse have been away from each other for a period of time, you are free to remarry.

Let's put sentiments aside and look at things with clear eyes. Marriage is just another societal construct. That woman you call your wife is and will always be a stranger (highest a friend). That man you call your husband is and will always be a stranger (highest a friend). They can drop your ass the next minute because of ... anything imaginable.

Don't make a mountain out of a molehill

Have you heard of real estate market? Those houses are up for sale or rent. But no one is coming forward to buy or rent them at the rate that the developers deem reasonable.

Good idea, if it is given a legal backing though.

But FG itself is defaulting in this area, earlier this week (sometime even earlier than that), I read of abandoned buildings from the time Lagos was the capital that FG has refused to hand over to the Lagos government. I hope they can start from there before moving to unoccupied private buildings/houses.
It CANNOT get legal backing. It's against a fundamental human right of every Nigerian: the right to ownership of property
