Sequel to the story about Nigerian Embassy in Thailand not recognising dead bodies, a Nigerian resident in Thailand has written to give a comprehensive story behind the problem, justifying his account by posting a video on how the lead actor in the riot was arrested for trafficking in drug. He concluded by providing the way forward into the entire problems. Excerpts: The cause of the riot: After the end of Nigerian community executives' tenure in Bangkok, there was a need for new election and people were scrambling to contest for new post. Before then, it was written that ex-convicts, illegal drug dealers and fraudsters will not participate in any Nigeria community election in Bangkok and as such Mr. Gilbert Akudo Ndigwe Alias Kudos and some of his co-friends like Mr. Uche Ijere and fake pastor Philip will not partake in the contest. In view of this, Kudos and Uche Ijere went and organize a kangaroo election where 304 Nigerian drug dealers appointed him as their chairman whereas we have over 2000 registered Nigerian members in Bangkok. Before the so called election conducted by Kudos and Uche Ijere, There was a lot of petitions to the consular regarding the characters of this two people. Consular action: The consular after receiving this petitions invited Kudos and Uche Ijere to his Office and showed them the cases against them. All the petitions were attached with evidences including pictures and video clips of their crimes. The consular therefore ordered them to cancel the election but GILBERT AKUDO NDIGWE Alias Kudos and UCHE IJERE ignored the consular, reasoning personal that becoming Nigeria president or chairman will help him to consolidate firmly on his illegal drug business. Being disappointed by the consular words to cancel the election, he left and called his major three partners in crime namely, fake pastor Philip and uche ijere plus one JJC Cosmos by name whom they used as an escape goat and held a serious meeting that night where it was agreed that they will recruit newly arrived Nigerians and members of their gang in drug business to hold the election. Kangaroo election: After three days of their meeting at the church premises NEW LIFE BIBLE MINISTRY of fake pastor Philip, they recruited 304 Nigerian drug dealers that hawk drug in sukhumvit and pratunam including newly arrived Nigerians. Most of them without passport or valid visa came and appointed their Don. Baron and Godfather Mr.Gilbert Akudo Ndigwe Alias Kudos unopposed as Nigerian president in Bangkok, notwithstanding the fact that our consular and the ambassador called them on that faithful day to cancel whatever they might be doing there. Out of 304 people attended that day, only Kudos, Uche Ijere and fake Pastor Philip knew that our ambassador and consular called them to cancel whatever they were doing that day. This three concealed telling others that they received a call from our consular and ambassador on that effect , Details: http://www.channel801.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=476 Video: http://www.channel801.com/magazine801/145-video-president-of-nigerians-in-thailand-arrested-with-cocaine. |
'igbos Are Illiterates, Touts And Criminals' Nigerians, particularly indigenes from the South East of the country are up in arms against the country’s mission house in Thailand over what they claim as extreme insensitivity and exploitation by Ambassador Sulaiman, head of the Nigerian Embassy in the Asian country. Ambassador Suleiman has been accused of ethnic prejudice following his comments about Igbos. Obika said: “He calls us uneducated, touts and criminals.” Even more, the embassy refuses to identify dead Nigerians. This, according to many, has led to the Thai authority cremating Nigerians whose tradition forbids such funeral rite. http://www.channel801.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=447 Do you think this is one of the unnecessary shout of discrimination that's becoming the order of day in Nigeria |

I pity England! Congrats Qatar! |
It goes to RUSSIA! |
Russia have beaten England in the fight to host the 2018 World Cup. England and Russia plus two joint bids from Netherlands/Belgium and Spain/Portugal were contesting the 2018 decision. The announcement of the winning bid was made by FIFA president Sepp Blatter at Zurich's Messezentrum. The 22 men on FIFA's executive committee heard half-hour presentations from each of the four competing European bids this morning. The four bid teams took sharply contrasting approaches in their last-minute appeals to FIFA to hand them one of the biggest prizes in world sport. England used its final presentation to promise FIFA a commercially successful 2018 World Cup through an initiative that would match FIFA's current spending on football development. The money from the England United project would be spent on developing the grass roots game around the world and leave a global legacy, bid leaders including Prime Minister David Cameron said when they addressed FIFA's executive committee members ahead of the vote. Russia presented itself as a huge nation which had never before staged the World Cup, contrasting it with western Europe where all the major nations have staged the event. Alexei Sorokin, the Russian bid's CEO, began by quoting Winston Churchill's famous description of Russia as "a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma." He said: "We can understand this perception that foreigners have but it's a Russia, that no longer exists." http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/02122010/58/world-cup-russia-host-2018-world-cup.html |
T9ksy:@T9ksy To you it is immature. To someone that is not an economist, it is not. The same way an expert in other field will think, should you ask questions. But then, what is a forum for? to learn. And am learning. I would have preferred you contribute, so as to enlighten we immatures. |
@DapoBear, thanks for your contribution. please, 1. Does this also affect third world countries? 2. Is this not affecting countries that are not even borrowing money? 3. Are these inflation indices really applicable to countries where majority are living on less than $1 a day? But government has always told us that the reason they dont want to increase salary is so that there will not be inflation. |
It is a known fact that countries around the world continue to borrow money externally to take care of their responsibilities. It will be interesting to note that even US is presently indebted to China and Japan. During the time of Idi Amin, this method of printing more money was explored and we were made to understand that it led to inflation blah. . . blah. . . blah. . . Experts said there is a limit to the amount of currency a nation can print (and also that can be in circulation) at a time. But we still see some African. . . especially military leaders exploring this avenue. Why can't countries print whatever amount they want from their minting companies and call the experts to manage the inflation problems that can come out of it instead of us to continue to be indebted to some foreign country, where only God knows whether they are using the same tactics at the detriments of others? This is an avenue to educate one another. Please only intelligent answers are welcome!. Economists where are you. |

A 33-year-old female Nigerian pilgrim has been deported back home by the Saudi authorities for being HIV positive. The pilgrim was said to have been screened by doctors on arrival at the King AbdulAzeez International Airport clinic, in Jeddah and was subsequently, deported back on the next flight to Nigeria . This was confirmed yesterday in Jeddah by the head of Nigeria ’s medical team in Mecca Dr. Ibrahim Kana. Dr. Kana said that the report of the deportation reached the medical team after the pilgrim had been deported, adding that he had met with the doctors who conducted the test on the pilgrim at the airport clinic to get to the root of the matter, He said the Nigerian medical team will write to the Saudi health ministry to see how the deported pilgrim can be compensated in the next Hajj and to prevent future occurrence of such incidence. According to him, based on the World Health Organisation regulation which Saudi Arabia is a signatory to, it has been agreed that no one should be denied entry into any country on account of being HIV positive. However, he said that the Saudi authorites have expressed concern over the matter and apologised to the Nigerian government and had made an attempt to fly the pilgrim back to Jeddah but could not because the airlifting of Nigerian pilgrims to the Holy Land had been completed. He added that as a result of a research conducted which showed that non-intake of anti-retroviral drugs by patient of HIV drugs for long which increases viral load in patient, the Nigerian government has through the medical team in Mecca supplied enough anti-retroviral drugs in all the clinics it established in Jeddah, Mecca and Madina. http://www.peoplesdaily-online.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=19823%3Asaudi-arabia-deports-hiv-positive-nigerian-pilgrim-&catid=16%3Anational-news&Itemid=33 |
TCD: TCD:@ TCD, you kidding me? A professor, just like any other English word, could be used in different ways. I can however excuse your depth of knowledge, because English is not your mother's tongue. However, the problem with a typical Nigerian is "he does not know, yet he doesn't know that he does not know' How do you teach such? A professor is a type of senior teacher; the precise meaning of the word varies by country. Literally, professor is Latin for a "person who professes to be an expert in some art or science, teacher of high rank"[1]. In most English-speaking nations professor is the title only of a senior academic who holds a departmental chair (especially as head of the department), or a personal chair awarded specifically to that individual. However, in the United States and Canada the title of professor is given to a much larger group of senior teachers in two- and four-year colleges and universities.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professor |
it is being confirmed that they will not appeal the judgement. Sharp guy!! |
A federal high court judge in Abuja, Justice Ibrahim Auta, has ruled that the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, must leave the position of governor next May. Amaechi was installed by the Supreme Court in October 2007 in a bizarre judgement in which the court stated that he was eligible to be governor having won the party primaries. He was asked to take over from Celestine Omehia as a party candidate. In explaining the ruling, the Supreme Court stated that it is the party that contests elections and that the PDP won the gubernatorial elections, and that, consequently, Amaechi, being the rightful candidate, should assume power as governor. That argument used by the Supreme Court was at play on Thursday in Justice Auta's court where he ruled that since Amaechi was occupying the PDP slot, he should note that the party's tenure ends on May 29 2011. Although lawyers to Amaechi said they plan to appeal against the judgement, but I doubt if this is going to take place. This is because Rotimi Amaechi arranged for this case, he got and paid the Plaintiff, he paid for the lawyers who stood for all the parties, he paid even INEC and PDP lawyers and also bribed the judge. The reason why he did it is because he does not trust Jonathan to give him ticket after Jonathan had become President in 2011. Therefore Rotimi prefers that his own election should come at the same time that other governors' elections are coming up. That way, he will also reap from the general endorsement of the governors by Jonathan as a condition for them to support Jonathan in the PDP presidential primaries. Next is that if Rotimi Amaechi runs the election alone in June, 2011 he will not be able to rig his way back into office as the attention of the whole nation and the police as well as election observers will focus in the state. This is the reason why a case that was filed only a week ago is being heard and ruling concluded on Thursday. This speed is remarkable in the history of the judiciary in Nigeria. Rotimi is afraid of the swelling rank of the opposition against him in the state and wants to reap from the usual "carry-go" election by running his own race at the same time that the President's election will be coming up. We might likely witness this kind of episode in other states where there are controversies as regards when their tenures will end. This include states like Ekiti, Cross Rivers etc where we had re-run elections Nigeria we hail thee! |
