Entertainment › Thousands Attend Premiere Of CAPTIVE At The Rock Cathedral, Lagos by nex(mod): 8:47am On Oct 04, 2015
Thursday the 1st of October saw House on the Rock, in partnership with the United States Consulate General, Lagos premiere for the first time in Nigeria, the all-new 2015 movie, “Captive” at the Rock Cathedral, Lagos.

https://www.barbaric.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/1200x630xCaptive-Movie-Poster.jpg.pagespeed.ic.gJUhgWx4SJ.jpg

The premiere which coincided with Nigeria’s 55th Independence Day anniversary was aimed at further promoting peace, nation building and the development of minds and purpose towards achieving a Nigeria on purpose.

“We must begin to build to a nation on purpose to secure the future for unborn Nigerians

Pastor Paul Adefarasin, senior pastor, House on the Rock church stated at the press conference held just before the movie screening.

https://www.barbaric.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/800x533x9.jpe.pagespeed.ic.-8ewh-f7pN.jpg

Recall that the church, in partnership with the United States Embassy successfully premiered Selma during the country’s general elections earlier in the year, and was attended by over 5000 attendees including celebrities, government officials, local and international media, industry officials as well as the general public.

“We are partnering to send a strong message that will change people’s lives. We are partnering on a theme to look at a purpose driven life. The movie shows how the struggle between hope and despair plays out” – Dehab Ghebreab, acting consul general, U.S consulate, Lagos.

https://www.barbaric.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/800x533x5.jpe.pagespeed.ic.Qsc5lTbbR7.jpg

The film medium has been deployed effectively by House on The Rock to promote orderliness, tranquility and purposeful leadership in Nigeria. “At House on the Rock, we will continue to innovate and seek mediums to spread the gospel of faith in unconventional ways to inspire both the churched and unchurched people in the world”, commented pastor, Paul Adefarasin.

He further went on to explain “Hollywood is an important messaging platform and the church wants to get in that messaging platform in Nigeria. That’s why we chose to premiere this movie with an A-List Nigerian actor and we hope to challenge Nollywood actors to send a strong message through their acting” he said.

https://www.barbaric.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/800x533x2.jpe.pagespeed.ic.CGEgyv-jsU.jpg

Dr. Oby Ezekwesili who delivered the premiere’s keynote address to loud applause and a standing ovation, expressed her pleasure at the collaboration “It is a delight to see this collaborative partnership between the church and the consulate. The church plays an important role in nation building. We thank the US consular for this kind of partnership. Strategic partnerships matter. Partnering on such a day as our annual independence makes it much more relevant and is important for nation building”.

Distributed by top global productions company, Paramount Pictures, Captive is a 2015 American crime-drama thriller directed by Jerry Jameson and written by Brian Bird and Reinhard Denke. The movie is based on the non-fiction book, Unlikely Angel by Ashley Smith.

https://www.barbaric.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/800x533x13.jpe.pagespeed.ic.aPxqwtIl_q.jpg

Golden Globe Award nominee of Nigerian descent, David Oyelowo stars as Brian Nichols alongside Kate Mara (House of Cards, The Fantastic Four) in the movie which has been praised by critics as an excellent documentary portraying how a purpose driven life can awaken the spirit of positivity and a will to overcome.

Pastor Adefarasin further charged the audience ‘’all the great nations of our world today only became great because they purposed to do so as one people of one nation around an uncompromised system of shared values. Value systems that invariably included Equal Opportunity, Equity, Justice, Freedom, Peace, Progress and the Majority Principle’’.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzNi-Vt2944

The very glamorous premiere drew an audience from all various demographic and economic tiers of the nation including, Oba Saheed Elegushi, Jimi Agbaje, Lady Maiden Ibru, Erelu Abiola Dosunmu, Chief Opral Benson, Olorogun and Mrs Oskar Ibru, Monalisa Chinda, Seyi Shay, Tee-Y Mix and many more. Timi Dakolo and Chee also delivered beautiful individual performances singing the song “Great Nation” and the National Anthem respectively.

Crime › BOKO HARAM Is Also ‘your’ Problem by nex(op): 8:40am On Oct 04, 2015
Kuje Police Station, Kuje Main Market, and Nyanya Bus Station. Three bombs in two towns in one night; they have once again attacked our capital city, Abuja. The rebel tactics of Boko Haram have become more rampant as they are being decimated on the front lines of battle by our military. However, we must all ask ourselves: “Six years into this insurgency, have we become numb?”

https://www.barbaric.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Islamistick%C3%A9-zr%C5%AFdy-z-Boko-Haram.jpg

Those of us that are blessed to be alive and unscathed must question if we have truly become desensitized to the dangers of this insurgency. We must begin to search deep within ourselves to find out whether or not we have turned a blind eye to the plight of our fellow countrymen and women who have lived through the chaos of Boko Haram. We must not delude ourselves into thinking that a terrorist attack in Borno State will not have ripple effects in Lagos State. We are one country bound together under God, law, a Constitution, and a common Federal government. Hence, what happens in Chibok must start to resonate in Surulere. To paraphrase Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo’s recent speech on terrorism in Nigeria: “Bombs do not discriminate.”

Any student that has read Sun Tzu’s ‘Art of War’ will understand that the guerilla approach that the extremists have resorted to is clear. Instill fear in the minds of every Nigerian; announcing with every explosion that evil knows exactly how to fight back. Boko Haram is attacking the unarmed, untrained, and always unprepared citizenry because as Sun Tzu says: “You can be sure of succeeding in your attacks if you only attack places which are undefended.” As everyday citizens, we have let down our defenses.

Needless to say, a rally to arms by everyday Nigerians will not be the solution to this problem. However, a final rally of our collective consciousness against our common enemy can lead to a citizen-centered approach that will send our own message: Nigeria stands united. Nigerians are ready to prevent, manage, curb, and end the conflict once and for all.

We must develop that righteous anger that stems from a place of unjustified provocation. We must push our minds to believe that truly and surely, Nigeria will defeat Boko Haram. However, just as our men and women in uniform are advancing on the frontlines of this war in the North East, those of us at home must also commit ourselves to ensure that once Boko Haram is dealt with in the fields, they can no longer regroup to strike at us in our cities.

https://www.barbaric.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/945x552x1337256000000.cached_7.jpg.pagespeed.ic.cEBjyK8PWf.jpg

As we approach this situation from a citizen perspective – asking ourselves: what can I do to make this situation any better? What can I do to contribute my own little quota to expedite the end of this insurgency? We must also ask: am I guilty of making this a political or ethnic issue? Am I guilty of thinking: this is not my problem because it is happening over there. If you have ever had or still have this ‘over there’ mindset, please, be rest assured that ‘over there’ is closer than you think. Over there could be at your doorstep someday if we do not program our collective psyche and efforts to defeat Boko Haram and all its splinter groups now.

For far too long, we have sectionalized terrorism as a ‘Northern Nigerian’ problem. We have viewed this issue through certain prisms and flawed perspectives that make it difficult to solve this problem. We have been guilty of politicizing this war, ‘ethnicizing’ this conflict, and regionalizing the fact that the Southern part of Nigeria remains basically unscarred. For now, Boko Haram is ‘situation specific.’ If nothing is done, this situation will change. Consequently, we must remember Pastor Martin Niemöller’s statement during the Nazi’s campaign to dominate Europe:

“First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.”

If we do not remember the North East now, who will? If we do not donate to our internally displaced people now, who will? If those of us that live in communities that are likely to get attacked do not start meeting to proffer solutions on community vigilance at the local level, who will? If we do not begin to push our local, state, and federal representatives to focus on educating and reorienting the needy in our society, and establishing social security programs, we can be rest assured that the recruitment pool for those that may wish to hurt us using the neglected and forgotten members of our communities will always be overflowing.

Although we must focus on education, as I mentioned in one of my previous articles: “A ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to education is no longer sufficient in Nigeria. Children must be taught the basic subjects that they need to know in this fast-paced world. However, they must also be taught the relevant issues and skills that are germane to their immediate environments. If they live in areas with high agricultural activity, our children must be taught the benefits, and best practices of farming in their schools […] Therefore, if they live in areas with high-insurgent activities, they must be taught the practical skills needed to survive in such environments. Teach them to detect manipulative and brainwash techniques early, and they will resist the recruiters when they come along. Teach our young men and women self defense, and in the absence of security – they can rally to hold the fort in their communities before help arrives.”

Finally, we must accept the fact that the government by itself cannot provide jobs for everyone. As such, unemployed young people are more likely to be recruited into nefarious activities. Consequently, there should be new public-private partnership focus to create ‘hyper-localized’ empowerment programs. Not every Nigerian that has a credible business idea, can write a proposal that would make him or her a beneficiary of empowerment scheme funds. However, hyper-localized community banking systems can give the skilled but illiterate members of our society access to funding for their small-scale ideas. Let us think outside the ‘status quo’ box.

As things stand, we have been at war against an enemy that is seeking to destroy us at any cost. We have been at this for 6 years. God willing, we will not get to the 7th year. Again, everyone has his or her part to play. Our military is doing the best that they can, but we must compliment their efforts in our own communities. Lead where you stand.

Four bombs went off in our capital city. By attacking Abuja, Boko Haram has sent us a message – they will not go down without a fight. As citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the ball is now in our court.

How will we respond?

Politics › KOGI DECIDES: Meet The APC Team, Prince Abubakar Audu And Hon. James Faleke by nex(op): 8:33am On Oct 04, 2015
At the recently-held Kogi State APC gubernatorial primaries, a man who is described by many Kogites as a great grassroots mobiliser and who also happens to be a former governor of the state, Prince Abubakar Audu, emerged as the gubernatorial candidate. Subsequently, after much suspense, he announced his running mate – Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, a legislator representing a constituency in Lagos State.

This article seeks to summarise their profiles in furtherance of the aim of getting to know our (prospective) leaders.

Prince Abubakar Audu

Prince Abubakar Audu was born on 21st October, 1947, to the family of His Royal Highness, the late Pa Audu Oyidi, Orego Atta of Igala land and the paramount ruler of Ogbonicha-Alloma in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State. His education began at the N.A. Junior Primary School, Alloma, and later N.A. Senior School, Ankpa, from where he proceeded to Dennis Memorial School, Onitsha. He attended the Jos Commercial College, from where he obtained “O” and “A” level certificates, then proceeded to study Banking and Finance in London from 1975-1978. Prince Audu is a member of the following professional bodies; the Corporation for Certified Secretaries, the Association of International Accountants, London, the Chartered Institute of Industrial Administration, Nigeria. He was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the Houdegbe North American University, Republic of Benin.

https://www.barbaric.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/650x350xabubakar-audu-Kogi.jpg.pagespeed.ic.OiKVzsat9u.jpg

Before venturing into politics, he worked for over two decades in the banking sector. He spent 25 years with First Bank (formerly Standard Bank), where he served in different capacities at management levels between 1966 and 1991. He was the first black training officer for the bank and one of the first black senior management staff for Standard Bank in London and New York.

In 1986, he was appointed as Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning in the old Benue State. He held this position for two years, then returned to First Bank as a General Manager.

In 1991, he was appointed Executive Director of FSB International Bank Plc, before he was invited into politics to contest for the governorship positon in Kogi State on the platform of the National Republican Convention (NRC). He won the election in December 1991 and was sworn in on 2nd January, 1992 as the first Executive Governor of Kogi State. This first tenure was abruptly ended after 22 months by the military intervention. He was again elected in 1999 when the country returned to democracy, and achievements recorded while he was in charge of the affairs of Kogi state cut across several areas, including housing, roads, social amenities like water and electricity, education and healthcare.

His administration is credited with the provision of 1500 housing units in Lokoja, the transformation of Lokoja Township with asphalt roads, street lights, the construction of inter-township and rural roads, dozens of electrification schemes and water projects. Other achievements include the establishment of a polytechnic and a university, a television and radio station, a state newspaper, the transformation of the colonial residence of Lord Lugard to an ultramodern government house complex, the construction of office blocks for ministries, and he also pioneered the construction of the first modern state liaison office in Abuja.

Prince Audu also took steps to invite investors to harness the many solid mineral potentials that exist in the state, one of which included making significant progress towards the establishment of the Obajana Cement Factory, which currently provides thousands of jobs in the state.

Other landmark projects include the Confluence Beach Hotel, a sports complex, a specialist eye hospital and 25 other medical institutions, a Special Government Girls’ Secondary School (which was, at that time, on a student exchange programme), hundreds of borehole schemes and 300 kilometres of township roads, among others.

Although he was a governor on the platform of an opposition party, the ANPP, he was declared the best performing governor in Nigeria during the 1999-2003 dispensation of the PDP-led Federal Government by Professor Jerry Gana, who was then the Minister for Information and National Orientation.

Hon. James Faleke

Hon. James Abiodun Faleke was born on 25th December, 1959 in Ekinrin Adde, Ijumu Local Government of the old Kabba province, a Yoruba speaking area of Kogi State, where he had his primary and secondary school education. He attended the Abdulazeez Atta Memorial College, then proceeded to the Kaduna Polytechnic, from where he obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Purchasing and Supply Management with Upper Credit in 1986. Here, he received the Best Student Award.

Hon. James Abiodun Faleke was posted to Lagos State for his NYSC program in the 1986/1987 service year, and served at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, his place of primary assignment (PPA).

https://www.barbaric.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/470x470xAbiodun-Faleke.jpg.pagespeed.ic.iJVT-J-gzw.jpg

As part of his service to the community, he provided waste bins to assist with waste collection and management in Ikeja LGA during his service year in 1987, and thus got a letter of commendation from the Local Government. This was, perhaps, a sign of things to come, as he would later become an elected Chairman of Ojodu LCDA of Ikeja Local Government Area.

In furtherance of his education and professional career, he obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) with Management as his field of specialization from Imo State University, Owerri. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), London, and the Institute of Public Administration (IPA).

From 1986 till date, Faleke has worked in different management capacities of procurement, clearing and forwarding, warehousing, distribution and construction. In 1986/87, he worked as the Purchasing Expediter in National Orthopaedic Hospital in Lagos State, and as a Material Manager at Kayo Foods Limited, Ilupeju, also in Lagos State. He then went on to serve as the Purchasing, Clearing and Distribution Manager and Commercial Manager at Tate Industries PLC, Purchasing Manager at Air Liquid PLC, Purchasing Manager at Aluminium Manufacturing Company of Nigeria (ALUMCO) PLC, and finally, as a Commercial Manager at Crown Agents Ltd. from 2000 to 2003.

He was also the Pioneer Executive Secretary of Ojodu LCDA from November 2003 to April 2004, and was elected as the Executive Chairman of the LCDA in 2004. He held this position until 2011, serving for two terms, and doubled as the Chairman of Conference 57, the body of Local Government Chairmen in Lagos State (from 2006-2011). During this period, he also featured on the state’s Electoral Reform Committee and the Governor’s Advisory Committee.

In 2011, he was duly elected to represent the Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and served as chairman of the House Committee on Anti-Corruption, National Ethics and Values, and as a member of several other committees, including those on Public Procurement, MDG’s, Interior, Public Accounts, Science and Technology, and the House Committee on the Petroleum Subsidy Probe.

He also proposed a number of bills, including the NYSC Act Amendment Bill, which proposed life insurance coverage for NYSC members, a bill prohibiting the sale and use of military uniforms due to the attendant security risks and, still focusing on the nation’s security challenges, he sponsored another motion on the need to shut over 1,400 illegal border routes to curb insurgency.

Hon. James Abiodun Faleke was also the Lagos State coordinator for the Buhari/Osinbajo campaign from December 2014-April 2015.

Criticism

The major source of criticism regarding the ticket has been the choice of Faleke as the running mate; while some claim that being a “naturalised Lagosian”, he would not have a proper grasp of Kogi state politics, the fact remains that the administrative and legislative experience he has garnered both as an LCDA chairman and as a legislator can and will translate into purposeful leadership if the duo are elected into Lugard House come November 21. If anything, the fact that he is a son of Kogi state who has attained such heights in another state of the federation is enough evidence of his leadership acumen, and the progressiveness of the party to which he belongs – the APC.

Excelling somewhere other than the place of one’s birth should be a source of commendation, rather than something to be condemned for.

As Kogi decides, the rest of the country waits with bated breath; Prince Audu is not without his share of criticism but his record in the state remains unmatched. As Kogi – a state blessed with abundant resources – remains stuck in time, frozen at the same spot for the past twelve years, with decaying infrastructure and woeful tales of bad governance, will the people opt for the party with Change as its slogan, or will they choose, instead, to remain in the cold comfort of an umbrella so torn that it shields them from nothing?

Nigeria Police have run mad! Instead of them to do their jobs, they are advising people against living their lives freely. Bloody incompetent lazy people!

Soon they will tell banks to stop keeping valuables in order to avoid criminals.

Hello Okikiswagg

It is necessary you attend an Acting School such as the ROYAL ARTS ACADEMY in Surulere or WALE ADENUGA PRODUCTIONS is Ajao Estate, or LUFODO ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTS in Lekki, Lagos. It helps you to gain all the skills you need, and make a lot of contacts with industry insiders.

Also, the best performing students in these academies are usually offered acting roles in movies produced by the affiliate production houses run by Emem Isong, Wale Adenuga, and Joke Sylva respectively. Try them if you're certain that acting is where your future lies.

Her body is too exposed. Her endowments can be well noticed and appreciated even without exposing them as much as she has done here. Beautiful and great body, but too much exposure, and therefor lacking class.
Music/Radio › EFA Iwara Features Pelli In OBANDI by nex(op): 4:28pm On Sep 29, 2015
Multi-talented performing artiste EFA Iwara has released his latest offering, a sure-fire hit single titled Obandi (aka Ms. Leboku) featuring his long-time collaborator Pelli. The tune is a salutation to the woman of his dreams; his Obandi.

“Obandi, as an idea, has been brewing for a few years. Initially, the plan was to record a festival songfor my people for the New Yam Festival called Leboku. However, I guess I cannot but make music for women, even if I tried. So, essentially, the song became a celebration of the love of my life, Ms. Leboku, the African Queen, the most beautiful girl in Nigeria”, he explains.

https://www.barbaric.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/2000x2000xObandi.jpg.pagespeed.ic.CKrwM5S8Vm.jpg

Obandi is a response to the disturbing idea that the Nigerian man is unromantic and uncaring; only getting with women to take advantage of them. While recognizing that there indeed exist a few bad eggs, EFA vehemently disagrees with that school of thought. “This song was made for any man in love with a woman. Obandi is the Lokaa word for “apple of my eye” or sweetheart (and other phrases of endearment) as spoken by the Ugep people of the Yakurr LGA in Cross River State.

Call me mushy all you want but I just love the idea of love. And I’m a Nigerian man.” He continues. “This should very well be the wedding song of the year. It is a celebration of love. The love of God that knows no limits. The love Jesus had when he agreed to die for our sins. The love that Jack had for Rose. The love Bonnie had for Clyde. The love 2Face has for Annie. True love.”

Obandi (Ms. Leboku) was produced, mixed and mastered by Bigfoot with additional production by G-Maks. EFA’s last radio single, “Fall In Love” featuring the legendary Plantashun Boiz, is still on radio stations across the country.

Politics › Is Bukola Saraki Standing Trial Against The State Or Against His Party? by nex(op): 1:26pm On Sep 29, 2015
The sunset period of Nigeria’s democracy is fully underway, and Nigerians seem to be sleeping as it is happening. The turning point of democracy in Nigeria occurred at the polls that saw the emergence of our President, Muhammadu Buhari, who represented the hope and aspirations that Nigerian’s yearned for being rekindled.

Any student who did Social Studies in primary school will know that our system of government is comprised of the executive, the legislative, and the judicial arms. These three arms – though inter-related, complementary, and inter-dependent – are independent in their abilities and functions.

https://www.barbaric.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/500x524xSenator-Bukola-Saraki.jpg.pagespeed.ic.szN8qkvOud.jpg

However, given the infiltration of certain elements into the executive and judicial arms in recent times, the affairs of the legislative arm have overtaken the news in recent times. Since the June 9th elections, the media has been awash with stores about ‘leadership tussles in the National Assembly’ – however, the vast majority of Senators and House of Representatives members dispute these claims. In the short span that the leadership of the legislative arm has been constituted, it has not fallen short of what can be defined as responsible leadership capable of complementing the activities of the executive. However, external efforts seem to be hell-bent on creating chaos where there is none.

Based on the aforementioned, events involving the activities of ‘outside powers’ interfering in the legislature are gradually turning Nigeria into a comic society in the eyes of the international community. The leadership of the legislative arm has been dragged into some muddy waters in court case upon court case – attempts that are clearly aimed at forcing their hands, or making them resign. It goes without saying, that the court cases and other happenings involving the National Assembly leadership are not normal, as a closer look will show that this is not a fight against corruption, neither is it a legal dispute, clearly, the court cases are aimed at being ‘well-orchestrated’ character assassinations.

https://www.barbaric.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/900x900xSenator_Abubakar_Bukola_Saraki.jpg.pagespeed.ic.PlWiJMUWT1.jpg

Since Bukola Saraki took office as the Senate President, he has been torn apart by the news media that are favourably disposed to certain South-Western elements. This is quite surprising to many, given that, he was one of the forces that carried the APC across the finish line in the last general elections. This outright case of ‘condemn him at all costs’, is similar to the efforts employed by the Jonathan administration to silence Saraki’s pro-activeness and insistence on the rule of law and the general interest of the masses, not just the privileged few.

The issues raised against Saraki, which border on a 12-year infraction, seem to suggest a political taint that does not bode well for the nation. This is because Nigerian’s are already asking if Bukola Saraki is the only two-time former governor to declare for an elective position? Additionally, why is the Code of Conduct Bureau/Tribunal blaming their own inefficiency on Saraki after 12-years when – they were supposed to do due diligence on his assets declaration.

Additionally, President Buhari needs to be reminded that one of the executive sins that former President Jonathan was known for was his flagrant disregard and abuse of the rule of law. Buhari must be careful not to allow the miscreants in his party and the agents of the executive arm not to use the security agencies to harass citizens without due process.

https://www.barbaric.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/597x365xBukola-.jpg.pagespeed.ic.E09Fk9iH4l.jpg

In Saraki’s case, given the non-adherence to Section 3(d) of the CCB & CCT tribunal act, which clearly states that if there is a breach in an asset declaration, the Bureau shall refer the matter to the Tribunal – after giving the defendant an opportunity to either confirm or deny if those facts are true or not, Nigerians have began to see that there is definitely a political undertone to Saraki’s trial.

In this regard, if such selective judicial application is allowed to continue, moving forward, whenever any high-profile individual is dragged to court, the question will not be: “What did he do?”, but, “Who did he offend?”

Business › Pensions, Pencom, And The Pension Reform Act 2004 by nex(op): 5:56pm On Sep 24, 2015
Due to the problems which had existed in the Nigerian pension system including lack of reliable records of pensioners, huge amount of resources on what became yearly verification exercises that did not address efficient pension payment, the pension reform act (Pension Reform Act 2004) was enacted in 2004 by the Obasanjo administration.

https://www.barbaric.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/425x425xPENCOM-logo.png.pagespeed.ic.N526chd3xf.png

This was to address and eliminate the problems associated with the pension scheme. The enactment of the act ushered in a Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) that is fully funded, privately managed and based on individual accounts for both the public and private sector employees in Nigeria. The Act also established the National Pension Commission (PenCom) as the sole regulator and supervisor of all pension matters in the country.

“I had some doubt when I started using one of the Pension Fund Administrators (PFA) for my pension scheme but so far, I will say I am really impressed by the promptness of my PFA in the payment of both my gratuity and my monthly pension,” Agnes Eboh, a recently retired private sector employee said.

Just like Mr. Ochidi, part of Mrs. Eboh’s fear was getting her gratuity paid on time due to past experience but both expressed satisfaction with the smooth and rigorous free verification exercise for their gratuity and pensions to be paid. “I will encourage all employers in this country to enrol their workers to help them when they retire like me,” Mrs Eboh stated.
