But now, they will just be murmuring some funny sounds. |

babooshka: stop being silly! Some1 is saying smthin important and u r busy correcting his English. All these Russians and Indians and lebanese and Chinese, how many of them speak proper English?!? Really? Do you know what it means to be silly? A typical example is the case of a man who lives in a glass house but keeps throwing stones. And his silliness is even less when compared to an observer who supports such. I'm sure you know where you belong. Now, the countries whose citizens you mentioned above have official languages different from English and as such, you don't expect them to be very good in English language. Mention countries like US, Britain and other English speaking countries. Think before you write. Meanwhile, is it the baseless propaganda posted there that u call "important"? Mention qualified bidders that have ever been denied those opportunities.

Sunnynwa: And you think the best thing to do is to deplete the already low Foreign reserves? Foreign Reserve is not being depleted, increased price of oil and improved output is being used to shore up the the Naira. At the moment, the Foreign Reserve is around $30b and it has been so for the past one month. Now, lets assume the Foreign Reserve is being depleted (which is not even the case) which alternative do you have to address the free fall of the Naira? Or you want it to get to N1k/$ to have more reasons to complain. What I know is that the present measure is the only means of addressing the issue for the time being but if u have any other means, it will make a lot of sense if you post it here cos some policy makers get opinions of the public and nl is a public forum. |

dokyOloye: Yeah. Clean titled means it has never been in any major accident, maybe minor scratches. Accidented car has been in a major accident that probably affected d chassis or deployed d airbags though as at d time U are buying d car in Lagos,it might have been reworked and repainted but U know white men keep a documented record of all these things and it can be accessed with d car's vehicle identification number. Guess U've heard also of ppl running VIN checks. Actually, have heard of the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) stuff, and have been trying to find out little about it. But is it that the VIN is something you can verify online or by inspection of the car or how exactly is this done? Cos, if it is something the dealers have access to, you know the rest. If an odometer reading can be changed, what else? |
Politics › Re: Hameed Ali Defies Senate's Directives, Sets To Start Vehicles Verification Today by nextprince: 1:06pm On Mar 13, 2017 |
dokyOloye: A vehicle can be cheaper due to many factors. Mr A might have bought far cheaper than Mr B,for example he might have bought from d direct owner abroad unlike Mr B who buy from car dealers and auctions. Mr A might want to make small gain and higher turnover unlike Mr B who wants big gain and less turnover. This is d reason cotonou cars are cheaper. Mr A might have a pressing person issues he wants to solve,or have a business prospect with higher gains so he might also want to sell at a giveaway price. Mr A might buy an accidented car wc is always cheaper and therefore sell cheaper too unlike Mr B who buys only clean titled cars. D list is endless bro. Thanks, I quite understand ur explanation and I agree. But on a different issue, just an innocent question. Have heard of the expression "clean titled car" several times and based on how it appears in your post, is it the exact opposite of "accidented car"? Just an innocent question pls. |

Meanwhile your brothers in benue state are the one that are most hit in fulani herdsmen killings. You won't think deeply that way cos you are part of BMC they are feeding with peanut money that can't build any harmlet. You better change your perspective to things. Most of the oil licence are been occupied by corrupt northern politicians that doesn't have any focus for Nigeria. Am not tribalistic but I will say it here cos I have carry out series of born to rule northern politicians. Despite this disaster, he still went ahead to call others illiterates. Very amusing.

dokyOloye: u don't understand d issue under discussion. Let me give U an analogy. U probably have a phone. Anything coming into d country including that phone is supposed to have import duties paid on it. Now,who is supposed to pay that duty? The phone importer/dealer. Now,by d time U are buying that phone,it is assumed d price for import duty has been factored into d final price U bought it. Now,if it turns out that duty wasn't paid for d phone, who is at fault?D answer is d importer/dealer and d custom agent who was probably bribed to look d other way while d phone came into d country. So,why should U,d end user be d one to be punished for d crime of the importer and custom officials? U get it now? If that is what you mean, my response to the emboldened is in the affirmative. But vehicles without complete documents tend to be cheaper and most buyers are aware of this. All the same, I agree with your explanation. Cheers. |

SalamRushdie: Where in America are cars stopped on the road to pay their custom duties ? If any car makes it into Nigeria without paying the proper duties , it's the fault of the customs and not mine Cars may not be stopped on the road to pay Custom Duties, but do Nigerians behave like the Americans? Besides, did I say cars are stopped on the road for the payment of Duties? My point is, in such advanced countries, people don't evade tax and as such all these approaches to address the situation wouldn't even be necessary. For instance, the customs has given some period of grace to all defaulters to update their vehicle documents and everyone is making noise, why shouldn't the customs take actions in enforcing it? |

kYjelly2: I guess you are not familiar with the popular phrase "Licence and Registration please"
Come on guy, even if you haven't left your street, you should have at least seen a U.S movie once in your life na, at least switch it up a bit from watching those fetish withcraft movies you love so much.
That phrase up there should tell you that those documents are all that are needed to verify if you are fit to drive and if the car has passed trough all appropriate legal channels.
Insurance comes next, to make sure you are covered in the event of an accident.
They don't start asking you to show custom papers, or tint permits, or c-caution, or extra serpentine belt... Now, tell me how this story explains driving without documents. Is it the modalities adopted in such verifications that pass for "driving without relevant papers"? I repeat, tell me how this story equates to "owning a car without relevant documents". Meanwhile, it is not about making noise of who has not left his enclave cos most of you that make such noise have actually not left your locality or at most Lagos state. Pls upload the non sensitive pages of ur passport, (the visa) mr traveller and lets count the countries you have visited or stfu. |

Quote me anywhere Dollar will still rise!!! But you just explained the game being played na? Is it not you that just analysed how the government wants some people to get sufficient dollars, then jerk it up again? Based on that, what stops you from investing accordingly? How will you have good information about the future market forces, yet it is not safe to engage in same business? Mtcheeeew.
