DrDeji20: I am not sure you have a vehicle. do you know how much it is to pay for customs duty on cars? in as much as I support his moves, he should forget about the ones already in the country and face the ones coming in the country. Nigeria has so many porous routes that smugglers still use to bring in cars into this country. I think he should focus on that angle. sometime last year the minister of finance talked about government plan to reduce import duty on tokunbo cars. I believe if that is done. smuggling will reduce drastically. and people can actually afford to pay for duties for thier cars. Weather I own a car or not is not the issue here. The issue is, illicit activities should be checked regardless of when such might have been perpetrated. That is how it is done in advanced countries you all keep making reference to. Besides, bragging about personal economic status is for hustlers who want to be seen as such. I don't do that, let alone, on social media, a faceless one at that where every poverty stricken brat claims to be richer than Bill Gate. |

BeeBeeOoh: Aren't customs responsible for cars smuggled into Nigeria or are you tryna tell us the cars fell down from the sky?? And what is wrong in coming up with policies to check themselves? And when did the present cg take over Nigeria Custom? |
Politics › Re: Vehicle Duty: Customs Boss, Hameed Ali, Senators Set For Showdown - Daily Trust by nextprince: 6:21am On Mar 12, 2017 |
Showdown, for what? Because some criminals refused to pay Custom Duties for their cars? So crimes committed years ago should be ignored now, right? Is this the practice in advanced countries which most of u kill yourselves to go?
Abeg anybody wey know say im vehicle no get paper, manage and get it within the stipulated period.

You mean you cannot provide even the weakest of proofs to substantiate your claim of what you have "carefully examined"? Nawao! When I said baseless propaganda garnished with lies, it appeared as if I was just exaggerating, now he has "other things" to do.

Eziokwuegbuozoo: You keep asking how 95% of nairaland rules is in favour of the Muslims, well l was not expecting you to admit the obvious facts for as long as hypocrisy remains your garments. I actually checked the link only to find an inconclusive concoction by some fallacious propagandists, according to the concocted story, the man actually admitted to have enrouted the road after the resounding warning but never made mention of being practically obstructed, so what the hell are you talking about? Yes I keep asking of how 95% of the nl rules favour muslim because that is what you have "carefully examined". Are the rules written in Chinese or Hindi or Swahilli? Why is it difficult for you to point out what you have "carefully examined"? He who makes a claim without even the weakest of proof and the one who ask for the least of explanations, pls who is better suitable for the description of hypocrisy? I also notice how hypocrisy has disallowed you from properly listening to the cry by one of you who you prefer to describe as a propagandist, but I ask, do you need more proofs even though you can't provide even the weakest of evidence to substantiate your claims? |

KevinDein: After spending a couple of years in southern Nigeria and having toured the country, I seriously lmao whenever I read comments like "that's why the north are not developed" from most nairalanders who I'd assume are southerners. I mean the south itself is just as undeveloped. So that statement amuse me to no ends.
I dare say it's extremely rare, almost impossible, to find such an eyesore in northern Nigeria. Being a Northerner, there are just two states I have not visited in the North and the states I have visited, I explored them very well and based on my knowledge, I can say without any fear of contradiction that there is nothing like this in the North. But, conversely, many states in the South have sights like this. Now, is it these sights they call development and advancement? If a picture of one bad road in the North is uploaded by one bigot, you will see them self-service out their lives on that pic, meanwhile they have things like this. Someone rightly observed on this thread; this should be one of the wonderful legacies of PDP administration that they wouldn't allow us to rest. I know, one confused wailer must blame APC for this "wonderful achievement". |
