PoliticsNigeria Is Safe, Secure For Tourism – President Buhari by nghubs1(op): 3:38pm On Jun 05, 2018
President Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday in Abuja declared that Nigeria is safe and secure for tourism, citing improved security and country’s burgeoning economy.

Receiving Mr Zurab Pololikashvili, the Secretary-General of United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) at the Presidential Villa, the President said it would have been inconceivable to host an international tourism conference in Abuja four years ago, because of security concerns.

‘‘I am pleased that the country is now sufficiently safe and secure, and the message should go out to the world for all tourists and business travellers. The first thing tourists look out for is security and I am happy we have it now.

‘‘Minister Lai Mohammed has been trying to convince the world that Nigeria is safe and has great potentials for tourism and investment. I am glad that you and your team have come here to see things for yourself,’’ the President told the UN tourism chief, who is in Abuja for the 61st UNWTO Commission for Africa (CAF) conference.

Highlighting the nexus between tourism and sustainable development, the President said Nigeria would not be left behind in ensuring that communities and businesses benefit from tourism development.

In his remarks, Pololikashvili commended Nigeria for the successful hosting of the conference which brings together African Ministers of Tourism, principal executives of the global tourism body and other stakeholders in the tourism sector.

The UN tourism chief told the President Nigeria had huge potential to develop the tourism sector considering its large economy.

‘‘We can do it in Nigeria, we can create, convert Nigeria to the main tourist destination in Africa. There is a huge potential here. Culture, nature, food you have everything here.

‘‘You are investing in agriculture, improving seamless travel through visa-on-arrival programme, reforming the economy and doing so much on security. Nigeria is safe,’’ Pololikashvili said.

Also speaking, the Information and Culture Minister said 166 delegates, including 26 tourism ministers from Africa are attending the UN tourism conference, holding from June 4 to June 6 in Abuja.

Politics2019: Why I Declared Intentions Now, By President Buhari by nghubs1(op): 5:30pm On Apr 11, 2018
President Muhammadu Buhari has explained why he declared his intentions to run for another term in office on Monday, April 9, 2018, during the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Receiving the Archbishop of Canterbury, His Grace Justin Welby in London Wednesday, President Buhari said:

“I declared before leaving home because Nigerians were talking too much about whether I would run or not. So, I felt I should break the ice. We have many things to focus on, like security, agriculture, economy, anti-corruption, and many others. We needed to concentrate on them, and politics should not be a distraction. The majority of Nigerians appreciate what we are doing, and that is why I am re-contesting.”

The President recounted some successes of the administration to his guest, with whom he has built a deep friendship in recent times, and was quite particular about strides in agriculture.

“We have cut the importation of rice by about 90%, saving billions of dollars in the process. People who rushed into petrol money have now gone back to agriculture. Even professionals have gone back to the land. Nigeria should be able to feed itself comfortably soon. I am so pleased,” the President said.

On the war against insurgency, he stressed the need for continuous education of the people, “so that they can be free from religious manipulation,” adding that no true religion advocates the hurting or killing of the innocent.

Responding to his guest’s comment on the clashes between herdsmen and farmers in different parts of Nigeria, the President submitted:

“The problem is even older than us. It has always been there, but now made worse by the influx of armed gunmen from the Sahel region into different parts of the West African sub-region. These gunmen were trained and armed by Muammar Gadaffi of Libya. When he was killed, the gunmen escaped with their arms. We encountered some of them fighting with Boko Haram. Herdsmen that we used to know carried only sticks and maybe a cutlass to clear the way, but these ones now carry sophisticated weapons. The problem is not religious, but sociological and economic. But we are working on solutions.”

President Buhari lamented that “irresponsible politics” has been brought into the farmers/herders’ crisis, but assured that enduring solutions would be found, and justice done to all concerned.

On Leah Sharibu, the schoolgirl from Dapchi still being held by insurgents, reportedly because she refused to renounce her Christian faith, the President said:

“We are managing the matter quietly. Making noise would not help. We are collecting as much intelligence as possible, working with the Red Cross and other international organizations. There are too many fraudulent people around, who claim they can do this and that. We won’t deal with them. That was how we got the Dapchi girls back, and the Chibok girls.”

Archbishop Welby said it was always a delight to see President Buhari, “whom I have tremendous respect for,” adding: “You have my best wishes on your recent decision. I read your declaration speech. We are neutral as a church, but we will pray for you. Great statesmen are those who run for the good of their country. We will be praying for you.”

The Archbishop presented President Buhari with a copy of his recent book, ‘Reimagining Britain. Foundations for Hope.’

Aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan has reacted to plans by President Buhari to run for second term ahead of the 2019 general election.

According to a post by Reno Omokri, President Buhari’s declaration of interest has caused investors to leave the country. He said Buhari also left the country because he knew the implication of his intention.

He wrote

Buhari declared for a 2nd term and the stock market crashed. Investors are taking their money and leaving Nigeria. Would you blame them? Even Buhari himself left Nigeria after declaring. He knew what his declaration had done to Nigeria. No one wants to hang around when the air is polluted. And what Buhari did today is pollute Nigeria! Nigeria needs a breath of fresh air in 2019. We don’t need someone who pollutes the economic, political and social air over Nigeria and then runs to his UK to leave us to breath the air he polluted

AutosWatch The First Tests Of The Flying Car On The Seine In A Few Days In Paris by nghubs1(op): 6:52pm On Apr 09, 2018
After a first failed test attempt last year due to problems with excessive speed limits on the Seine (12 km / h) and home port prices, the cars flying on the Seine will do well tests in the Seine. some days.

For many, the Seine is a way of decongesting Paris . Today, there are bus boats but the idea of some is to make it a real traffic lane.

This is the challenge of Alain Thébault, navigator and founder of the company that develops the Seabubbles. As a reminder, the Seabubbles are 100% electric vehicles that can carry 5 people who have the distinction of “flying” on the water, a bit like some catamarans.

After designing a first prototype, the company based near Lake Geneva in Switzerland has built a second generation more successful thanks to the participation of eight experts of the America Cup boat race.

Their know-how has led to the development of a gear stabilization system thanks to electric controls that operate on a small scale. A device close to the technology used on some competition boats.

After a break, the project seems to have a good start. Thus, in mid-April, the Seabubbles will land in Paris for a five-week probate transfer from May to June. The start-up will be able to sail at 18 or 20 km / h, depending on the sections used. What to get an idea of the viability of the project for a big city like Paris.

At the same time, Seabubbles is continuing its tests in the Rade de Genève. If all goes well, a hundred Seabubbles should be available for pre-order by the end of the summer, for first deliveries in the first half of 2019. The price of these machines should be unveiled in mid-June in Paris

NGHUBS observing the replies by other twitter users show that twitter users believe celebrities are not intelligent enough to use twitter.

Others also believed that celebrities preferred Instagram to show off their fake life in pictures rather than engage in real conversation on twitter.

Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial zone Senator Dino Melaye has reacted to claims that he has fled Nigeria over crisis peddling his political career.

According to Punch Newspaper, Senator Dino Melaye on Saturday night debunked the rumours circulated by media outlets (NOT NGHUBS) as well as threatened to implicate President Buhari, Senator Saraki and host of other Senators if they fail to come to his rescue.

He said, “For the records, I did not flee Nigeria and have no reason to flee my country, leaving behind my family as the online paper wants Nigerians to believe. My attention was drawn to their lies this night, hence this public statement.”

Senator Melaye also said he is yet to receive invitation in his home or office to appear in court on 28th March as insinuated by the Nigerian police over arms deal scandal

“It has become expedient for me to issue this statement to the public and to let you know that I have taken the matter up with the international community in order to report this undue intimidation and harassment.

“Let me reiterate here for the umpteenth time that no amount of intimidation, blackmail, arrests or threats will stop me from championing the cause of the masses.”

PoliticsReturn Of The Abducted Dapchi Schoolgirls: PDP Reacts by nghubs1(op): 6:03pm On Mar 21, 2018
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to the release of the abducted Dapchi school girls by the Boko Haram terrorist group on Wednesday morning.

According to a statement released by the Peoples Democratic Party and made available to NGHUBS, PDP accused the All Progressive Congress (APC) and some government officials of staging an abduction.

PDP refered to the Dapchi incident as a failed Dapchi drama which remains a poorly crafted tragicomedy: a scam of no equal dimension, Nigerians are not ready to forgive the APC and the Presidency for the torments inflicted on the girls, their parents and the human community worldwide just to score a cheap political point.

The statement read

Text of Press Conference of the Peoples Democratic Party, on the Return of the Abducted Dapchi School Girls Presented by the National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, Today, March 21, 2018.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) condemns the All Progressives Congress (APC) and certain officials in the Presidency for staging the abduction of the schoolgirls in Dapchi, Yobe State, for political purposes.

Our Party considers this act as wicked, callous and tormenting to use innocent schoolgirls as pawns in an ignoble script that was designed to hoodwink Nigerians and orchestrate a great rescue and security prowess of a conquering general, all to push a 2019 reelection bid, is an unpardonable gamble with human lives.

While this failed Dapchi drama remains a poorly crafted tragicomedy: a scam of no equal dimension, Nigerians are not ready to forgive the APC and the Presidency for the torments inflicted on the girls, their parents and the human community worldwide just to score a cheap political point.

Nigerians know that the main aim of this devilish act was to delude the public, set the stage for an orchestrated rescue, create a heroic myth and false sense of achievement around the APC administration and serve as a spur for President Muhammadu Buhari’s declaration to contest the 2019 presidential election, perhaps in the coming weeks.

As a political party, we want to further state unequivocally that by all ramifications, this is a war crime against humanity and gross violation of human rights on the part of the APC administration, all in the bid to push a selfish and ill-lucked 2019 ambition.

There is no evidence that the Boko Haram insurgents or any militant group abducted the schoolgirls in the first place. Rather, what is evident to all is the high level official manipulation of security movements in Dapchi both in the staged abduction and the returning of the traumatized schoolgirls.

It is instructive to note that till date, no report has been presented by the National Security Adviser (NSA), who has been charged by President Muhammadu Buhari with investigation of the abduction. This is in addition to deliberate efforts by the government to suppress free flow of information around the abduction.

Even the regular Nigerian on the street has examined the events leading to this abduction of our daughters as well as their release and can deduce theobvious.

Nigerians are all aware that both the abduction and return of the schoolgirls were dramatically preceded by questionable withdrawal of troops and all security apparati at checkpoints and flashpoints in the Dapchi area.

They are also aware that the Buhari Presidency, as the principal command center of military operations, has refused to come out clear on the compromising of security and why no arrest has so far been affected in the entire saga, thus betraying a high-level of government conspiracy against the citizens for political reasons.

The PDP therefore calls on the United Nations (UN) and the International Criminal Court to declare this evil by the APC Federal Government a war crime against humanity and immediately commence investigation on the matter. We demand the arrest and prosecution of all those involved in this saga.

In the same vein, we join Nigerians to demand for the setting up of a UN monitored Truth Commission to unravel the facts around the Dapchi event as well as the abduction of Schoolgirls in Chibok, Borno State in 2014.

While we commiserate with the families of our loved daughters and rejoice with those whose daughters were brought home safely, we urge Nigerians to be alert and continue to monitor the activities of the APC as we approach the 2019 general election since it is now clear that this government will stop at nothing in its desperate bid to perpetuate itself in power against the will of the people.

EducationCourt Upholds Prof. Ahaneku’s Election As UNIZIK Vice-chancellor by nghubs1(op): 12:53pm On Mar 17, 2018
The suit by Prof. Greg Nwakoby against Nnamdi Azikiwe University Governing Council with respect to the appointment of Prof. Joseph E. Ahaneku, FAS as Vice-Chancellor has been dismissed for lack of merit.

Prof. Nwakoby was a former deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) and one of the contenders in the 2014 Vice-Chancellorship race which saw the emergence of Prof. Ahaneku.

In his erudite judgement, the presiding judge of the National Industrial Court, Awka predicated his judgement on the following grounds:

1. The Governing Council totally complied with the provisions of the law in making the appointment.

2. The Council did not deviate from the provisions of the law that requires selection and appointment of one person from the three persons recommended to it by the Joint Council and Senate Selection Board.

3. The three persons recommended by the Joint Council and Senate Selection Board were equal before the law and therefore equal before the Council by virtue of the provisions of the Miscallanous Provisions( Amendment) Act No1 of 2007.

4. The casting of votes for determining the preferred candidate was proper as there was no consensus, voting being a universally acceptable democratic process of arriving at decisions. Voting was not used in the appointment of Prof Egboka because there was consensus.

5. The claim that practice and convention should have been followed does not hold water as the law is always superior to practice and convention. Besides, there is even no convention or tradition as the claimed convention could not be proved.

6. The claim of bribery and corruption could not be proved beyond reasonable doubt as he who asserts must prove. Moreover, the witnesses under cross-examination contradicted themselves.

Car TalkNew volkswagen Polo Revamped After About 8 Years by nghubs1(op): 11:52pm On Mar 06, 2018
Volkswagen Group Japan (VGJ) renewed the compact car “Polo” for the first time in about 8 years and started a preceding order from March 2.

Polo is a compact car that adopts the conventional style of placing the engine sideways on the front part and driving the front wheels, as with the main model of VW, Golf. The first polo started selling in 1975.

For VW, it is a core model whose annual sales volume in Japan always exceeds 10,000 units.

Also, 60% of users are females, which is also characterized by the fact that female users account for much more than the proportion of female users in the entire VW in Japan.

The 6th generation new type polo is adopting the next generation platform of Volkswagen (VW) “MQB” for the first time in the compact class.
We aimed for the sporty and sophisticated latest VW design, with the intention of a wide and low proportion with sharp side silhouette with edge and stability.

Also compared with the current model, the wheelbase has been expanded by 80 mm and the full width has been expanded by 65 mm. By doing this, we realize a wider indoor space than ever.

In addition to improving the comfort of the rear seats in particular, the luggage space is also expanding 71 liters.

In addition, the interior of the new polo is a horizontal tone with operation systems arranged in a row, and aimed at ease of use.
We are adopting the newest cockpit layout of the VW compact car as soon as possible.

In addition, VW’s genuine infotainment system “Discovery Pro” is adopted for the first time in Polo series. By using the telematics function of the mobile online service “VW carnet”, traffic information etc will be provided to the driver in real time.

The newly designed 1.0 liter gasoline direct injection engine is more powerful than the previous model.

In the urban area, it demonstrated sufficient power performance and realized high quietness.

Moreover, we have adopted advanced safety technology / comfort equipment used for advanced models, and we have high safety from the fact that we have won five stars, which is the highest rating in euro NCAP.

Polo new model of VW which started a preceding order. With renewal for the first time in about 8 years, expectation will rise.

Release is scheduled for mid-March
