Hallelujah!!! It's ielts victory. People who ace it in their first attempt wont understand this joy. I just have to share my testimony here cos God used the people here to make it possible for me.

I joined this thread in part 4 but I read all through from part 1 and thereafter took nairaland as my daily read. To everyone that has made this thread valuable, I say thank you. I learn most of the information I have now from here.

1st test, BC: July 2018 LRWS 8.5/6.5/7/7.5
Spouse,BC: July 2018 8/7/6.5/8.

2nd test, BC: Sept 2018 7.5/6.5/6.5/7. Here, I thought my village people were at work cos I couldnt finish both listening and reading and right there at the exam hall, I knew I had failed.

3rd test, BC: Nov.2018 8.5/7.5/6.5/7.5. Then I knew I have to face this monster called writing. More surprising to me was that all I knew about writing, i didn't know in my first attempt and i passed.

4th test, MOD: Dec.2018 8.5/8/6/8. With this, I realised I needed help in writing. A 6 in writing with MOD made me feel BC was better. I had to voice out here and wasseynewest (I call him my boss and he's so selfless) sprung into action to help me immediately. He linked me with some people here, Tutor Seyi, Flourisher, Jenni, T bunny, Busayo and himself, and we had several sessions via phone free of charge. I also got some advise here to prepare more and to remark writing but it came back unchanged. Tutor Katya also helped me assess some essays. I cant thank you all enough. I gave myself about 6 months to prepare for another one. Along the line, my boss got his PPR and I lost connection with him after a month but he left me in the hands of Tutor Jenni.

Ielts is all about strategies. Some, tutor will tell you and some, you need to discover how to tackle it yourself during practise. I read like I was in for my phd. My house was full of practise questions I'd printed out. I breathe and sleep thinking about ielts daily.

5th test, BC: June 2019 7.5/9/6.5/7.5. I was devastated. I cry everytime I failed the test as it was draining me. Kept me on hold for months. I couldnt do all I needed to do cos I just want to get this test off my mind. Tutor Jenni told me to brace up and face the challenge. I reconnected with wasseynewest and he will call me to encourage and share his experience with me. All I learnt from Jay, Liz and ieltsadvantage failed me. Then I felt I needed to use another online tutor. I cant be doing the same thing over and over again and expect a new result. I promised myself never to tell any one again when I register for the test cos I was tired of telling them my failures.

Then I stumbled on Johnny Bravo's post and testimonies of how he coached some people and they passed so I decided to give his coaching a try immediately I saw the result. I booked for one week cos I felt since I was close to a 7, I just needed a simple strategy to pass writing. He opened my eyes to what is expected of me and was so detailed. I'm glad I could go through your teaching. Thank you so much Johnnybravo.

After the session, I kept on reading on my own to perfect all the modules. Then someone introduced me to a telegram group. There are ielts guru there too. One of them advised many who are stuck at 6.5 in writing to use another approach different from the popular tutors we all know. Examiners like Pauline Cullen and Vanessa Jakeman. I searched for their e books and read extensively. I also learnt a lot from the essays they assess freely in the group. Along the line, wasseynewest came through for me again. He posted a free coaching for october test takers and we had many session everyday. I was very happy, at least, for someone like him to assess my essays. He and several tutors helped a great deal and now the result.

6th attempt, MOD: October 2019 8.5/7/7.5/7. I felt I was dreaming. So the struggle is all over. People who wrote the test that day will know how tough the section 3 of the reading test was challenging. I had my fear after the test but I laid them all at Gods feet. I give Him all the glory for this achievement.

To everyone still in this journey, I will say like many have been saying, please dont give up. To everyone that helped me, I cant thank you enough. Pls dont mind my typo errors, ielts is over.

Well, I meant multiplying the amount your POF should be with the equivalent of 1CAD in naira. You can discard the advise anyway.

Maybe it's the POF. I guess it should be in naira and not dollars (if he/she is applying from nigeria).

she has 40hrs work experience (Accountants, NOC 1111), POF- 13,000CAD, ECA has been ready since with two certificates evaluated, She's 24 years.
We both have exactly same profile except the ielts and i'm already post AOR. We work in the same office, same JD, same everything, only the ielts is holding her with 6 in writing but she was hoping to sit in the pool while planning for a retake.

Thanks Topsmamen. She just got certified by cipm and the first duty was as a result of her promotion. Should we go for 1121?

First one is:

Collating, preparing and interpreting reports, budgets, accounts, commentaries and financial statements of group activities.
Undertaking strategic analysis and assisting with strategic planning, producing long-term business plans.
Undertaking research into pricing, competitors and factors affecting performance, Setting credit limits, procedures and modalities
Liaising with financial institutions as regards instruments such as Bank guarantees that will aid trade or as requirement for trade
Controlling income, cash flow and expenditure
Developing and managing financial systems/model, carrying out business modeling and risk assessments
Supervising staff, liaising with managerial staff and other colleagues.
Produce monthly consolidated Management report and analyse all inputs, Provide variance analysis and commentary
Continually adapt and improve management reports as agreed with the Managing Director
Consolidate annual budget, including long-term cash flow planning, Perform key balance sheet reconciliation tasks and central journal postings

Second one:

I’m thinking the first one is 1111 (financial auditors and accountants) while the second is 1221 (administrative officer). please is that correct?

Ok my people, this is the REMIX..........

Decision to travel has been since after my OND days. Actually delayed HND for few years as man had to hustle. This was born out of the advise from one of my lecturers back in 2005 at MAPOLY, that as a prospective Engineer, it's really important one go in search of core practical experience. And today, i thank God i followed the beautiful and life saving advise. More so, I have always learnt from my DAD that a man needs to be self sufficient.The support of the wifey should only be an added point .
This two reasons really made me work hard to gain experience and at the same time gather some funds.
Fast forward to 2009 while i was contemplating on going for my HND, i actually calculated how much i have been able to save and decided to give YANKEE a try. I

Thanks for this advise. I write very clear enough,do not murder english language and no one has ever complained about my writing. I tried to use Jays method. No exam has been this tough for me. I also write beyond 250/150 words. Right now, i'm even thinking i get penalised for writing above the word count because for task 2, i remember i wrote 294words and task 1 was 180words. I just wish they could assess my papers before me to know what i'm doing wrong.

I can only imagine how you must feel now, however please do not be deterred. Firstly, i’d advise that you apply for an EOR on your latest result immediately and that hold off on retaking the exam in the interim until you receive the results of both EORs. Finally, concerning your writing, the only reasons why I can think of for persistently coming up short is either your writing is illegible or you do not meet the required word count. I am no expert but this is my candid opinion. Good luck

Ielts has been holding me down since July. First three attempt is with BC. 1st attempt: LRSW 8.5/6.5/7.5/7. 2nd attempt: 7.5/6.5/7/6.5. 3rd attempt: 8/7.5/7.5/6.5. Applied for EOR this December so i'm yet to get result. Fourth attempt is with MOD 8.5/8/8/6.5. Please what should i do as i'm fed up already. ECA has been ready since September.

I appreciate everyones advise despite your busy schedule. As for my handwriting, i write legibly and no one has ever complained about it.

Hmm...thanks. i've been using Jays technique for both writing and speaking. Even got a paid teacher to assess my essay. I use complex sentences and linking words in my essay. Dont know what to believe anymore. But as you advised, i will give your option a trial too. Thanks.

Don't be fed up, you're almost there. There's been significant improvement since your first attempt. Please follow up your remark request to ensure it is actually acted upon... Search the thread for email address of BC UK, Cambridge, send a mail to BC Nigeria asking for status of your remark with BC UK and Cambridge in copy.

You could also request remark for this latest result but don't forget to follow up with IDP Australia.

And be on your knees while awaiting your remark. It is a subjective something so Favour and Grace are very real.

Exactly. All along, advise from this group has been helping me. I even enrolled a teacher to help assess my essays. So i dont know what to believe in ielts anymore. Been crying my eyes out o. I will follow your advise. Thanks for your prompt response.

Ask for a remark of your fourth attempt. Don't be discouraged, notice how your results have been improving with each attempt. That counts for something.
