Car TalkRe: How Much Mileage Is Too Much Mileage? by niceface(m): 4:05pm On Jan 12, 2016
Mileage is very important because it's a pointer to other factors. The more miles the vehicle travels the more the wears and tears on the vehicle parts. I will recommend you go for a car with a mileage below 90,000km, you will definitely enjoy your money. Talking from experience, I have been using a Hyundai SUV that I got at a lower mileage for over five years with no issues, only to service it twice a year with genuine oil filter and mobile oil. Engines of vehicles with mileage above 200,000km can pack up at anytime even if the exhaust is still dropping water when you start the car because the average lifespan of any vehicle engine is 200,000km.

Is it Mathematics Vs Mechanical Engineering or Statistics Vs Mechanical Engineering? If it's the latter, then I will gladly recommend you choose Statistics because of its numerous job opportunities especially when you have good grade. However, With Mechanical Engineering certificate, you can only work in few specific areas and you will be paid good salary.

Car TalkRe: Help Make An Informed Decision. Toyota Highlander Or Hyundai Tucson by niceface(m): 9:40pm On Jan 03, 2016
It all depends on the condition of the car you are buying. I bought a clean second hand Tucson over 5 years ago and I am still enjoying it up till today. I usually service it twice a year and it's serving me well because it was in a good condition when I got it. The brand name of the car is not as important as the state of the car viz a viz, mileage traveled so far, engine condition, neatness of the body and interrior
CelebritiesActor Charles Okocha Reportedly Hit By Stray Bullets Needs Our Prayers by niceface(op): 3:47pm On Dec 28, 2015
Kelly Handsome broke the news on his page last night..Hopefully he survives.

It happened at the wedding of the daughter of a millionaire, Daduko from Nnewi. His daughter was having her traditional wedding ceremony, so all the who is who in Ibo land were present and they all came in their convoys with each having not less than 10 police men escorting them.

The whole place was crowded with police men. Out side the venue, more than 200 of them who escorted different dignitaries were served drinks and it resulted to one among them pulling his trigger and shooting sporadically. As a result, not only Charles was affected they were two of them but the other man isn't a star, reasons why blogs didn't report it. The man died instantly but Charles is still battling with his life.

My question is why will a police man on duty take alcohol? The so called big men immediately left the scene with their escorts as the incident happened leaving Danduko to take responsibility. None of the police agreed they shoot the guys, they all denied and escaped the scene immediately.

PoliticsCause Of INEC Card Reader Malfunction In Otuoke by niceface(op): 2:07pm On Mar 28, 2015
It's likely that the President's data may be protected/conceived for security reasons so the President's bio data and that of his wife may not be on the card reader, but INEC was supposed to update their machine prior to the President's accreditation this morning.
This could explain why other people were accredited but the first couple could not be accredited with the card reader. The card reader was supposed to read the information stored on the microchip of the PVC, merge it with the one stored on the Card reader and display the bio-data of the card owner to prevent impersonation. Thereafter the finger prints will also be verified. The nylon film covering the lens of the card reader can also reduce the sensitivity of lens, but the incident in Otuoke this wasn’t that of finger prints.
I expected INEC to deploy experts to sensitive pooling centres like Otuoke to prevent national embarrassment but thank God for GEJ calmness and display of statesmanship.

Letter to Buhari from the grave of the innocents –
By Bashir Yusufu
Dear General Buhari; I would’ve addressed this letter privately to you, but in the expectation that you may not receive it, I decided to make it an Open Letter, in the hope that you would stumble on it, read it and hopefully feel some of the pains and anguish that have been my lot. Having said that, permit me therefore to proceed with the rest of this missive from the grave of innocents departed.
Last night, while I was at my modest home in Katsina, relaxing and probably half-awake, I heard the voice of my cousin who was killed in the North in April 2011 during the post-election violence instigated by your loss of the presidential election. With bloodshot sad eyes, my cousin, looking apparition-like, was wailing “Gen Buhari, why why”. My cousin’s name is (or was) Mallam Yusuf Danfulani, a bright young lad originally from Katsina State, who was slaughtered in cold blood and set on fire by youths chanting “Sai Buhari”, like they are again now chanting in 2015.
Gen Buhari, in case you have forgotten, Yusuf was slaughtered in your name even though he never did any wrong to you, and even voted for you against Dr Jonathan. He lost his life just because the murderers you encouraged by your many hate speeches believed Yusuf to be from middle belt or southern Nigeria, most probably because of his bulky looks and brave, patriotic attempts to prevent the killing of an innocent Youth Corper, Ukeoma Ikechukwu. Even though he cried out in Hausa and Fulfulde, he was still not believed by those you (Buhari) managed to brainwash to see all non-Fulani Nigerians as conspiring to vote against you. In this very case, Yusuf voted for you but his ‘Sai Buhari’ killers never believed he did. Like you, Gen Buhari, the mob was baying for the blood of innocents.
If not for Yusuf’s best friend who was with him and was himself nearly killed, we would not have recognized his charred body that was burnt beyond recognition. And thanks to the same friend for recounting to us the little he could make out at the last moments of Yusuf’s life, the agony he passed through and the most important words he uttered before he gave up. It is the same words I heard him utter last night from the grave: ‘Gen Buhari, why why’. Yet, to this day, you (Buhari) have not cared to apologize or show any remorse, but you instead offered lame excuses for the bloodletting you had instigated, and still instigate. I now ask you this: Gen Buhari, must you always shade blood, like you started doing from 1983, to rule Nigeria? Do you recall how you killed Brigadier Bako in 1983 just so you could take power by force from Shehu Shagari?
General Buhari, Ukeoma Ikechukwu himself was reported missing that same day Yusuf was murdered by your supporters, and finally confirmed dead the following day when his charred remains was discovered in a hooded area. Apparently, your supporters had dragged him out of the open and tortured him before finally snuffing life out of him. Like my cousin, Yusuf, Ukeoma was very young and an innocent. Unlike Dr. Jonathan, they were not contesting against you. Yet, when they were killed, part of Nigeria was killed with them; the same Nigeria that you are now angrily campaigning to rule.
Yusuf and Ukeoma were not alone. Six other innocent Youth Corpers were also murdered in Bauchi, where you Buhari, polled 1,315,209 votes (almost 82 per cent), defeating Dr Jonathan who scored 258,404 votes and did not even hit the 25 per cent mark. The corps members were reportedly chased to a police station where they sought refuge. But the rioters, who were raving mad with bloodlust and chanting “Sai Buhari”, overran the station and murdered the young Nigerians in cold blood. So, Gen Buhari, as you can see from the Bauchi result and it’s aftermath, your supporters even shade blood when you win; still you have no qualms. Today, you are prancing around the nation, arrogant and angry as usual, behaving like y

This is not true at all. Hand out is not allowed only text books can be sold to students. I have never heard of a text book that cost more than N1200 in Kogi Poly because there is a committee that determines/regulates the price of any newly published text book. Try to work with facts and not rumour. If you are sure of your claim, why not include the title of the hand out and name of the author.

HealthTips For School Bus Safety by niceface(op): 6:53pm On Aug 25, 2013
Parents can do a lot to keep their kids out of harm's way.

Many children are injured each year just getting on and off the school bus. Inattentive drivers, horseplay, unsafe street crossing and even clothing issues can all contribute.
By talking to children about school bus safety and reviewing certain rules at the beginning of the year, parents can help prevent avoidable accidents, an expert says.

"A blind spot extends about 10 feet in front of the bus, obstructing the driver's view," said Michael S.M., the injury prevention coordinator for trauma services at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. "Oftentimes, children are not aware of this blind spot and might mistakenly believe that if they can see the bus, the bus driver can see them."

Simple measures?such as removing loose drawstrings or ties on children's jackets or clothing because they can snag on bus handrails?also can help keep children safe, Michael said in a medical center news release.

Michael provided several safety guidelines parents should review with their children to ensure they are safe on the way to and from school.

While walking to the bus or waiting at the bus stop:

Don't be late. Arrive at least five minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive.
Don't fool around.
Stay on the sidewalk or grass.
While riding the bus:

Always walk in a single-file line.
Use the handrail to avoid tripping or falling.
Stay seated and face forward the entire time.
Keep feet and backpacks out of the aisle.
Do not shout, so the bus driver can concentrate on the road.
Always keep all body parts inside the bus.
When getting off the bus:

Make sure the bus has comes to a complete stop before trying to exit.
Wait for a signal from the bus driver before crossing the street.
Exit from the front of the bus.
Look both ways before stepping into the street to make sure there are no cars attempting to pass the bus.
Cross the street at least 10 feet in front of the bus.
Kids should ask their bus driver for help if they've dropped anything when getting on or off the bus, Michael said. Children also should never talk to strangers on their way to or from the bus stop, she added.

The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration reports that an average of 19 young bus riders and pedestrians die in school-transportation-related accidents each year.

"As children begin preparing to return to school, it's important for parents and children to go over school bus safety tips together," Michael said. "This will help ensure a safe, enjoyable start to the school year for everyone."
HealthSleep Affects Exercises by niceface(op): 6:41pm On Aug 25, 2013
The length of an individual's sleep appears to influence their participation level in exercise the next day, according to a small study published in the August issue of the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine.

(HealthDay)? The length of an individual's sleep appears to influence their participation level in exercise the next day, according to a small study published in the August issue of the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine.
Kelly Glazer Baron, Ph.D., M.P.H., from Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, and colleagues studied self-reported data from 11 women (mean age, 61.27 years) with insomnia who engaged in 30 minutes of aerobic exercise three times a week. Sleep quality was assessed at baseline and at 16 weeks. Additionally, sleep and exercise logs and wrist activity were collected continuously.

The researchers found that total sleep time (TST), sleep efficiency, and self-reported global sleep quality improved significantly from baseline to 16 weeks. There was a significant, negative correlation between baseline ratings of sleepiness and exercise session duration. There was no association between daily exercise and subjective or objective sleep variables during the corresponding night. Following nights with longer sleep onset latency, participants had significantly shorter exercise duration. For participants who had shorter TST at baseline, the relationship between shorter TST and shorter next day exercise was stronger.

"Results suggest that sleep influences next day exercise rather than exercise influencing sleep," the authors write.

One author disclosed financial ties to the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.

Christianity EtcJudgement Before Trial by niceface(op): 1:38pm On Aug 25, 2013
Naturally as human, your instinct will tempt you to relate one or two events and draw conclusions. This is often wrong especially when we limit our judgements to surface analysis rather than subjecting such cases to critical in-depth analysis.
This has always been the case when you label a town/village/community as being ‘bad’ due to some few bad heads in such communities. Recent happenings in Nasarawa State do not make everyone from the State an Ombatse worshipper. Also, the security challenges in the North do not make every Northerner a Boko Haram.
Over the years, some communities have been labeled as adulterous/ violent/ fetish people due to few incidents of such acts in those communities. However, that does not make everyone from those communities guilty as charged. It is therefore highly imperative for us to change our orientation and mind-set and learn to give people rooms to prove themselves.
Just like the adage “You cannot from a distance feel the taste of a soup”, you cannot because you encountered one or two bald-headed persons as you arrive a village, labeled it as bald-headed society. It is not uncommon for people to punish innocent ones because of their origin.
Man is an irrational being and each individual you come across is a unique being. Therefore, you cannot predict correctly what an individual is capable of at first encounter.
I therefore urge you to try to overcome the natural instinct and give people rooms to prove their worth before you crucify them. Remember in court, a suspect is presumed innocent until proven otherwise. Let us be fair in our dealings with others and be good to all. Together we can make the world a better place.

PoliticsStranded Boko Haram Members Turn Human Eaters In Borno – Suspect by niceface(op): 9:53pm On Aug 24, 2013
Dozens of suspected Boko Haram militants in Magumeri forest, Borno, have turned to human eaters after being stranded for days without food or water.
Magumeri forest is about 150 kilometres from Maiduguri, the state capital.
Mallam Momodu Bukar, a suspected militant, told newsmen on Saturday in Maiduguri that he fled the camp at the forest on Thursday when it became obvious that he was going to be eaten.
“I thank God that I escaped because I would have been slaughtered by now to provide meal for my colleagues at the camp,” Bukar said.
The suspected militant was captured by a Youth Vigilante Group, popularly known as the civilian JTF at Baga Road motor park, Maiduguri, on Friday..
He said the militants had been in the forest since May, when they were dislodged from Marte, Marte Local Government Area, by the Joint Task Force (JTF) on Operation Restore Order (ORO) after the declaration of the State of Emergency.
“Our group, consisting of about 300 well armed combatants, headed for Magumeri on the orders of the sect leader, Abubakar Shekau, shortly before the military took over Marte Camp.
“We have been wandering in the forest. We have exhausted our food and water supply, and so, everybody became hungry,” Bukar said.
He also said that they lost contact with Shekau due to the closure of GSM services by the Defence Headquarters.
“It all started last Monday when three of the combatants in camp died of acute hunger, and it became obvious that all of us will die if action was not taken.
“The leader of the group, Abu Omar, directed that a non combatant member be slaughtered to provide meal for the rest.
“The meat provided meal for the combatant for just two days and another person was killed in the same manner on Wednesday.
“So, it became certain that I might be the next person since I am also a non combatant member.”
Bukar said he escaped after volunteering to help search for drinking water for the group in a nearby village.
“I left the camp on Thursday evening after agreeing to fetch water from the village.
“After leaving the camp, I started running until I arrived at Magumeri town, so, I slept in the motor park before boarding a vehicle to Maiduguri with the little money on me.” he said.
Bukar said that he was apprehended immediately he arrived at the motor park in Maiduguri by the youth vigilante group.
Commenting, an official of the vigilante group, Mallam Ajid Asheik, said the suspect would be handed to the Joint Task Force (JTF) on Operation Restore Order (ORO) for investigation.(NAN)
