Are you tired of flailing around with SEO?

You have tried everything the gurus, the SEO blogs and webmasters have told you and still nothing is working.

Well, thank your gods you finally found this.

I'm going to tell you why you have been failing for the most part:

You are writing for the masses.

You are writing for your customer base.

I see this all the time when I come across a blog and I can't just help but wince.

There are two types of traffic that can come to your site.

- People that run a website in your niche
- And people who don't

The mistake most make is writing for the latter.

That's why they keep failing at this SEO thing.

Successful ones appeal and write to the first group.

Let me give you a case study.

An event planner approached me once to help her audit her site and rank for her keywords.

When I landed on her site I could see why she had been languishing on the 10th page of Google for her keywords.

The posts on her blog roll read something like:

- 5 gifts to give to the Couples
- 7 tips for a memorable wedding
- How to design the perfect invitation cards

Very terrible choice of posts:

Yes, she is trying to appeal to her potential customer base:

People about to get married.

But this is a huge mistake.

Stop writinng for your potential customer base.

Why?

In most niches your potential client base cant link to your content. Never!

Why?

Because they don't run a websites let alone one in your industry.

Do you think people about to get wedded run websites?

If you run a blog for single moms don't write content that appeal to single moms.

Why?

Single moms don't run websites or blogs so they can't link to your content.

No matter how awesome your content is, your customer base is most likely not going have a website in your niche and so can't link to your awesome content.

They are going to read your awesome content, gush all over it and then close the tab. Then go back to liking cat videos on Facebook.

Unfortunately, this is the approach the gurus tell you to take. Does this sound logical to you?

Here's the truth:

For you to rank on the first page of google you need links! The more conpetitive your keywords the more links you need!

If you can't find people that can link to your content, game over!

So back to that first group!

For you to succeed with SEO, you need to find people that can link to your site and then create content for them! Not your customer base!

Let's call them Linkers.

Your linkers are necessarily not your customer base.

Linkers are people that run websites in your niche!

That's it.

They are the people that have the power to link to your content and share it with their audience.

This is what gets you targeted traffic and first page rankings.

There's an intricate but simple process to find linkers.

Don't get it twisted here:

You want to fish out these people.

They hold the golden ticket to your train to first page rankings and targeted traffic. To more leads and sales for your business.

Luckily, there's a step-by-step process I'm going to give you to find linkers in whatever niche or market you are in.

Get your pen and notepads out.

We are about to go on a very interesting journey.

A secret only a few hold and one they don't want you to know about.

But I say information wants and should always be free!

So here we go...

Hello Godwin,

Forget the technicals.

I think I have an idea of the why behind what I think you are saying but you are not making it easy for anyone reading this to understand you.

I think your thoughts are mumbled up.

I think it's better if you explain what you want without the technical parts.

Webmasters / 3 Profitable Niche Site Selection Techniques That Works Great In 2018 (with PDF) by Nichesiteseo(m): 2:24pm On Jul 02, 2018
Want a niche site that makes money?

Then you are in luck.

Because I'm in a good mood today, I'm going to show you 3 actionable techniques for choosing profitable Amazon Niche Sites.

I didn't actually come up with them but these uber simple techniques have worked great for me in 2018.

A little backstory.

2 years ago, I was having very poor results in building profitable Amazon niche sites.

I mean very poor!

9 out of every 10 Amazon Affilitae Niche Site I was trying to build was burning a huge hole into my pocket bigger than some of the pot holes on Lagos roads.

Total waste of time too.

Then I started digging around trying to find out was I was doing wrong.

It was then I found an article. I copied it and turned it into a recipe document for selecting profitable niches.

Fast forward to 2018 and the lessons I implemented from that article have remarkably worked out great!

When I get home tonight, I will drop a link here. You are free to copy and share it (it's not mine, I also copied it).

Here are a couple of takeaways from the article:

1) Bad Niche research is no.2 reason for failure for most Amazon Niche Sites (1 being not taking action)

2) The methodology has 10 checklist for a profitable niche site:

The checklist stresses that niches should

a) have products with mid-price range that encourages impulse buys but also relatively high dollar amounts on commissions.

b) have several related products. This is KEY! A niche that has several related products will keep average order size healthy.

Average order size is a key component in how much money your niche site can make. It could be the difference between a $50 per month AMZ Site and a $2000 per month AMZ Site.

c) have multiple related keywords

d) have 2-3 affiliate sites in the first page. This is another gold bomb you will get from the article.

I won't touch any niche that I can't find other affiliate sites ranking in the first page.

That's a strong message from Google:

here's what Google is saying if you can't find other affiliate niche sites in the first page:

'No, Son. We don't like ranking your lot for these keywords and niches'

You better believe the Old G.

e) have low competition. The article shows how to gauge competition with a single/simple and effective rule of thumb. Hint: involves DA.

3) No competition niches are unicorns. Don't exist. Move on, fella.

4) But there are still very low competition niches with good earnings potential.

5) Not a walk in the park to find them, though the article gives you a good frame work to make your load lighter...

6) And the good news is: find a good niche and you are almost there.

7) Your idea generating phase will usually start from Amazon.com/bestsellers but there's also a case for starting from Amazon.com/gp/site-directory

Tools you will use:

- Moz tool bar
- SEMRush
- Google Keyword Planner

Like I said:

I will share the article when I get home tonight.

I also bought a Video Course that goes deeper than selecting a profitable niche.

The video course alone has more than 100x paid for itself.

Magnificent stuff.

I'm also planning on sharing that here as well, I will have to dig up my old external HD to do that though.

Guys, please hold me accountable on these.

I might get home and forget to upload a link to my revised version of the article. And I think it will be criminal not to share all that value with folks here struggling like I did years back.

Just send me an email from 7pm with the words: 'Don't forget.'

You can have the subject as 'AMZ' so I don't think it's a client telling me not to forget to get pizza for tomorrow's meeting smiley

P.S. Mail me at hello@joblessfella.com

P.S.S. Y'all should thank @silvermoney - he reached out and we had a discussion that led to this.

Webmasters / Get Exact Keyword Search Volume Data (A Quick, Sneaky Trick) by Nichesiteseo(m): 10:28am On Jul 02, 2018
The Google keyword planner will only show you exact search volume data only if you are running an active Adwords campaign.

If you are not, you just see that annoying range: (100-1000k).

But there's this wee little sneaky trick I use to get exact search volume out of the Google keyword Planner without needing an Active Adwords Account.

Someone on here asked me for this as she heard it works great for her friend I showed.

So, to avoid repeating myself I want to write out this little nifty trick so I can have something to point people to.

Okay, here we go:

First step is to find a keyword in the list of suggestions that you want to target:

You now click 'add to plan'

Then in the left-hand side bar of the page, click 'Plan Overview'.

Now you are taken to a page where Google gives you clicks, impressions and cost data if you were to bid for the keyword.

It's the impressions stat we are concerned about.

That's how many people search for that keyword every month. Now you legit search volume data for your keyword.

Please, find attached images to follow along.

If you have any questions please holla!

How to choose a niche that makes money (the method that works for me)

Choosing a niche is perhaps where most entrepreneurs get hung up.

Most people get scared of going down the wrong lane only to find out the niche is a money and time sinker.

And to make matters worst, the fear of choosing the wrong niche creates that paralysis by analysis and keeps most guys from getting started.

If this problem resonates with you, you are in luck because I'm going to show you one of the best ways to choose a niche that makes money.

And later in the article I will also give you a bonus list of ideas to get your brain cranking.

Here's what you need to know:

There's a concept in niche selection demonstrated cashflow.

Demonstrated cashflow is a market that is validated.

By validated, money flows in the market.

What you want to do when selecting a niche is to attach yourself to this market and participate in the money flow and pocket some of that money for yourself.

In demonstrated cashflow market, the participants in that market are proven money spenders. They are willing to spend money to solve their problems.

You might have come across the statistics that says 9 out of 10 businesses fail in the first year.

The reasons why entrepreneurs have such a poor conversion rate is due to reasons like

- Creating a product or service nobody wants
-small market
-undercapitalization
-running out of cash
-a poor team

And many more.

One of the biggest factor why businesses have such a high failure rate is down to one factor.

Poor niche selection.

A bad market, if you like.

And probably the best way to solve this is to choose a market with demonstrated cashflow.

Let's use some example:

Car tires is a market attached to a demonstrated cashflow.

How?:

The demonstrated cashflow market here is the car niche. Car owners have demonstrated they are willing to spend by buying cars.

Therefore, selling car tires is attaching yourself to that demonstrated buyers.

It wouldn't be a hard sell selling a tire to a car owner has he has already purchased a car. If he is need of tire it's not a huge hoop to jump to get one.

Starting a jamb prep class is attaching yourself to a demonstrated cashflow market of parents that have demonstrated they are willing to spend money on their child's education by sending them to secondary school where they pay school fees and also paying for a jamb form.

Optimizing Facebook ads for local businesses wanting to go online is attaching yourself to a demonstrated cashflow.

First, they are business owners who regularly pay for advertising for their business. They have demonstrated they pay for such service.

They have also demonstrated cashflow by funding their Facebook ad account.

You should look at what an ideal customer would have spent money on before they need your service.

Be the second, third, fourth etc. link in their long string of triggered purchases.

You don't really want to be the first possible purchase. It's way harder as most time you would have to first educate them that they need your service before you then sell them. Just typing that makes me shiver. Way harder.

An example would be setting up a wordpress blog for new bloggers.

That's a first line of purchase.

The new bloggers haven't demonstrated in any way that they spend money. They haven't spent money prior to opening a wordpress blog.

A better niche would be designing a custom theme for this first time bloggers. Now they have spent money paying for hosting, or email marketing service or even a logo. It won't be a hard sell to help them design a custom design for their new blog. They have opened their wallet before so it's easier for them to open it again now.

That's how to choose a niche that makes money.

Look where people are already spending money, then go attach yourself there.

Entrepreneurship is more about providing better value to existing services and products that people are already actively purchasing than innovating a new market.

Don't get caught up trying to do something out of the blue and so unique.

You might just fall into the trap of making a product no one cares about.

If you have any question on the topic please ask away.

Ever wondered how you can find keywords your competition don't know about?

The google keyword planner is nice and all that...but it's messed up in one pretty big way:

It gives everyone the same keywords...kinda why competition in the SEO space is really intense.

Everyone going for the same keywords.

Okay, what about this:

Ever wondered how you can know if a keyword is too hard to rank for?

I mean, there is no point putting in all that effort if you can't displace the top guys for a keyword even if you work hard at it for 5 years.

Now combine these two 'Ever 'wondereds' '.

...and there ladies and gentlemen is why this SEO game is freaking crazy!

...but it doesn't have to be.

I can help, at least in my own little way.

But here's the thing:

You've got to keep it between us.

This stuff is Gold and we can't have your competition knowing about it, now can we?

Here's the Gold:

I have subscriptions to some of the most powerful SEO tools out there. Think AHREFS.

Not many can afford this.

So how about this?:

Every month I send you a bunch of keywords per month.

These keywords will have the following criteria:

- Invisible to your competitors. Only the very very savvy ones will have a clue. The other 99 percent? no freaking clue. In many cases no one will be optimizing for this keywords in your space.

- Have significant monthly search volumes. Would probably not be as high as you want it but at the same time nothing to scoff at either. If they had any higher then they wouldn't be invisible, will they?

- Easy to rank for. These keywords will have low difficulty ratings.

That should solve the two ever wondereds.

So how much am I charging for this?

1000 dollars per month.

Lol.

I'm just messing with you.

FREE.

Not a typo. Every month for free I will send you badaaaaasssssss keywords.

If you can't rank for them, then no one can help you.

Here is how to apply:

Send your name and your website url to hello@joblessfella.com

Oh and you will also get some SEO freebies FREE from time to time.

Hello guys,

I really became active on this forum last year.

I realized starting an online side hustle resonated with so many people.

I have started several online side hustlers.

Been at it for 10 years.

So many failed and some were successful.

Luckily for me, the successful ones more than paid for the loads of failure.

Today, I'm jobless.

The problem with jobs is that they can't gain you any sort of financial dependence.

Why?:

You are trading time for money.

And time is a limited variable.

Say you are earning 500 per hour.

And you work 200 hours a month.

Your effective wealth equation becomes:

500 x 200.

Which is N100,000.

The problem here is you can hardly influence the variables in your wealth equation.

Your pay per hour is next to impossible to influence.

You can't just work into your boss' office and ask for a raise.

And you can only work so much hours.

But say you create a line of beauty cream.

Your unit profit on each is 500 Naira.

And you sell 200 in a month.

Your wealth equation becomes:

Unit profit x unit sold.

500 x 200.

That falls to the same 100,000 Naira per month.

But the advantage here is that the variables in your wealth equation can be tweaked and influenced. Not easy but very doable.

Can you cut out some expenses in manufacturing and logistics to increase your unit profit by 200 Naira to make it 700 Naira per unit?

Now you are making:

700 x 200.

140,000 Naira per month.

Can you exploit more marketing channels and increase sales by 100 a month?

700 x 300.

That's 210,000 Naira a month.

You employ the services of an Instagram influencer to promote your cream and suddenly 800 orders rush in in a single day.

That's amazing!

Not saying this is easy but the variables are in your wealth equation are far more controllable owning a business than working a job.

You are not trading time for money.

So owning a business is a better bet.

Now what?

The problem I faced early on trying to make money online was:

Information overload.

I was overwhelmed by the vast amount of resources online when I was learning create income online.

So much so that I became paralyzed to take action. Like a deer caught in a headlight.

But that was not even my major bug.

My major issue was the fact that the information out there are so scattered that it was so difficult to put it all into context.

Okay now I know how to put together an HTML landing page.

Oh shoot. I have to learn copywriting.

Okay now I know copywriting.

Oh shoot I need to start a blog to create an audience for my product.

I need to learn SEO.

Okay now I know SEO.

It's so slow to make money this way. I need to learn paid traffic.

Okay now I know paid traffic.

You get the gist.

I was putting out fires here and there and I couldn't come up with a blueprint to go from A-Z to create an online income.

Over time, I knew what worked, what didn't and I did more of what worked.

I used a simple method to create my own processes and blueprint.

What was it?:

I literally combed the internet for proven business models and ideas and copied them step by step.

I did my best to reverse engineer what I saw was working for people online that were pulling major moolah and copied them.

No need to reinvent the wheel.

This is the easiest method I know of to make money online.

Follow proven business models and ideas.

I'm currently putting up a site together to help people do this.

Show people struggling to bootstrap an online business a very detailed guide on business models they can copy to create their next venture.

When I mean detailed, I mean detailed.

Super huge resources that will leave nothing out. Data backed and proven.

More like a turnkey solution.

You follow and idea thread from A-Z without having to learn anything outside what needs that idea to fly.

I'm starting this thread to keep you updated on the project and let you know when the site launches.

Also, I want some feedback from you guys.

Do you need something like this?

What do you think.

P.S. I'm typing on my phone so forgive my typos.

kason:

Please Guru in the house, kindly assist me. How lucrative is the business of selling cheap data bundle online? Is it legal? Ur candid opinion is highly appreciated.

Hello Kason,

I don't mean to shoot you down but you have got this backward.

Your post is 'me-focused'.

You are chasing money here and that's what your problem will be if you ever launch this.

Money chasing doesn't work. It flat out doesn't.

What you should be asking/thinking is how to solve problems people have with buying data bundle online.

Any business will be lucrative if it provides a NEED for people.

Solve a problem and money will follow.

Look for gaps and try to fill those gaps. Forget about lucrativeness.

Making money should be the last thing you are thinking about.

If you go fishing you don't take your best food (unless it's worms) as a bait.

Fishes don't care about your best food.

They want worms.

So you take a worm along as a bait.

You hook it to your fishing rod and voila you have got fishes for dinner.

Hope this helps.

The one that pain me most was forex after spending 10,000 to learn it minus time i was buying from cybercafe which was minimum of 200 daily as far back 2009.
I lost 3 accounts each having 100$ deposits
I lost huge amounts of money buying time in cybercafe
I lost almost all funds I kept for my school because then I was about entering school.

Forex is nothing but a scam made to steal money from you.

All those guru that I learnt from today am better than them, even the one that thought me forex and collected 10k from me is now a motor boy/carrying wood in wood and timber market... The last time I saw him I almost cried... A man with promising future.

Forex has destroyed so many people, same way MMM and naira bet are doing the same to our youth now.

I do relate with what you are saying.

Not that it has happened to me but I know people with similar experiences.

First:

Forex trading isn't a business.

That you can make money from something doesn't make it a business.

A business is something you do that solves problem for people and pays you for the solution.

Second:

Forex trading is not a scam.

This is a trillion-dollar industry with mega investment organizations as participants.

The global financial world runs on the concept of forex trading. If it was anything close to a hoax, the world would come to a grinding halt.

The problem is many people don't understand the concept of forex trading and see it as a get rich quick scheme.

I have a masters degree in finance so I should know.

Don't trade forex unless you know what you are doing. I assume that's why got burnt.

And certainly don't listen to gurus or but their stupid courses or trading algos.

Go get a job at an institutional or trading shop and get your hands dirty there.

Even then it takes a lot of grit and know-how.

Hope you have learnt from your forays and wouldn't fall for such schemes again.

We learn from experiences and that shouldn't deter us from moving forward.

Also know that you are far ahead of most for even taking risks of such magnitude.

Webmasters / Re: How To Make $500 A Month With A Niche Site by Nichesiteseo(m): 4:31am On Jan 22, 2018
I recently answered a question by a forum member here. He (she? Can't remember) wanted to know if every article on her blog should be long.

Here's my reply:

I personally don't publish anything less than 3,000 words.

But how can you keep that up?

Here is the trick:

Drop your frequency and increase quality.

Stop writing 3-4 times a week. If you do this, you most likely would be writing sub-par articles.

Instead:

Write once a month.

But super detailed, long, shareable and totally awesome. Then spend another month on just promoting it.

In depth 3000+ word articles will smash any average mediocre 400-word blog post 24/7.

The only downside is:

Long pieces take more time and effort to write.

But that's a good thing. Infact a massive advantage for you.

Why?:

Your competition is usually a lazy fella.

I hear a lot of people complain that people don't read their blogs or they are finding it difficult to stand out and get exposure.

The single best way to solve this is to write gigantic articles.

Do this and you are running upstairs.

Running upstairs is no fun, trust me.

But it's even less fun for someone chasing you.

Massive super indepth content is a big moat for you. You will separate yourself instantly from the pack.

Long content is also highly correlated to higher rankings in Google.

Several studies have shown that the top 10 results from most keywords are usually around the 2000-word count mark.

Here is why google ranks longer content better:

-It gives google more information about the topic of that page. This makes them more confident that your page is a relevant result for that keyword.

Webmasters / Re: How To Write High Quality Articles For Your Blog. by Nichesiteseo(m): 4:20am On Jan 22, 2018
topblogger12:
Nice article ..... on the issue of the length of the article...should all our articles be extra-long? ..

Thanks for the article... and the free images part..

Your articles should be super extra long.

I personally don't publish anything less than 3,000 words.

But how can you keep that up?

Here is the trick:

Drop your frequency and increase quality.

So stop writing 3-4 times a week. If you do this, you mostly likely would be writing sub-par articles.

But it even less fun for someone chasing you.

So massive super indepth content is big moat for you.

- An indepth piece of long content that is 3000 words long will answer a searcher's query better than a 300 words long content. This means longer content gives more value to searchers than shorter ones.

- Long content attract more links and social shares than shallow content.

Why don't you use Wordpress.

Download a Wordpress theme from a site like themeforest.com and then customize it.

Not hard to customize.

This is why you are struggling

#Forgive all the typos. I will clean it up when I'm home.

I sat John and Peter down.

Then I said, 'Look, as our new sales interns we need both of you to help promote this page.'

I fiddled around on my laptop and brought up a page for them to see.

'This is the page. It has a form we need people to fill.'

'I think we can get people on this page...', John was already muttering.

'Here is the kicker, guys,' I interrupted him. 'For every form you help us get filled, we pay you 100,000 Naira.'

'Wow,' John and Peter said in unison, stunned.

'So get to work.'

Three months later, Peter had driven 1000 people to fill the form on the page and was basking in sweet sweet moolah.

What about John?

John did just 2 form fills and was let go.

What did they do differently?

Why could Peter get 1,000 people to fill the form and John just got 2?

I sat down with Peter late one Tuesday evening signing his cheque for his payout commissions (100,000 x 1000).

'So what's your secret?' I asked. 'We have never had an intern as successful as you.'

'That's because most interns don't know that money rules.'

'What do you mean, Peter?' I asked.

'He who spends the most money wins.'

'But we didn't give you a budget to do this.'

'Yes you didn't. But here is what most intern would have done. John did this too. They go out and start banging on people's door all day begging to get those form filled.'

'Yes, that's what we see people usually do. I think John told me he was approaching 600 people a day telling them to go fill those form.'

'That's why he failed. He wasn't willing to spend. Look Boss, this is how I did it. I walked up to 1000 people in total and they all signed up.'

'Wow!' I exclaimed. 'That's a 100% conversion. I suspected you hustled so hard to talk to 5,000 people and probably got 1,000 people on board. So you approached a total of 1,000 people and they all did sign up? No one told you no?'

'They couldn't.'

'What do you mean?'

'Because I know he who spends the most wins.'

'Yeah, you said that before...'

Then I got it.

'You sneaky bastard,' I started to smile and he did too because he knew right then I had gotten it.

'How much were paying someone to go fill the form?'

'20,000 Naira'

'Then you we pay 100,000 Naira and you pocket 80,000 Naira.'

'Yeah.'

'Well played. You were willing to spend 20 grand to make a 100 grand.'

'Yeah.'

'And John was not willing to pay anyone anything. In fact he didn't even think he should be paying people. So you outspent him.'

'Yeah.'

'How did you come about this?' I was curious.

'You.'

'Me?'

'Yeah.'

'I looked into the forms. I was skeptical about the whole offer you made us. It was too good to be true. I discovered it was a lead generation for an insurance company and I did some digging. I discovered they were paying you 300,000 Naira for every form fill and you in turn were paying out 100,000 Naira. You then pocketed 200,000 Naira.'

'Smart boy.'

'No, you are the smart boss.'

'Well, I learnt from the Insurance company. 300 grand payout too looked too good so I did some digging like you did and I discovered a single form fill was worth over a million bucks to them.'

Peter went on to do great things.

So, why the story.

I'm starting to see a recurring pattern from the emails I get and some questions asked on this thread.

Many people here have that 'John mentality'. Unwilling to spend/invest in their niche site and SEO. Some just probably see this as some Goggle Welfare Assistance Program and not a BUSINESS.

It's a BUSINESS GUYS!

You don't want to buy a domain.

You don't want to pay 5,000 for a logo.

You don't want to pay hosting fees.

You don't want to invest in a premium theme.

You don't want to invest in a SEO tool

You want to write all the articles yourself even when your grammar is woeful.

You don't want to pay for quality graphic works.

You only use FREE stock photos.

You want everything FREE.

Look, I get it. A lot of us are cash strapped. But what I usually tell people is go get a job if you are. Forget Niche sites.

Then have the gumption to save up some money and invest in your NICHE SITE BUSINESS.

This doesn't mean you should break the bank. It's never been this easy and cheap to start any sort of business for as low as 100 grand and make 7/8 figure income in no time.

What's holding many back is just the scarcity mindset.

I worked at a tech company for a while and we were spending millions to outrank people on Google. Millions.

Some of my clients throw money at their site every week like there is no tomorrow and you want to bootstrap all the way and outrank them? It's not possible.

I'm not saying break the bank. Bootstrap at the start if you must. Say you start making 10 dollars a month after some months - take 2 dollars and pocket that and invest 8 back into the BUSINESS. Get a premium theme, Hire a logo designer, clean up your site, buy books... invest invest invest and watch your income start compounding.

A lot of people don't believe it when I tell them I make Bleep per month, WHY WONT I? I have been investing 80% of my income on my online assets for 7 years!

I once withdrew all the money in my bank account at one point and bought a site online (I did due diligence). After a year and half I was depositing money weekly twice the money I cleared from the account back in.

There are a lot of sleazy internet marketers out there. I get it.

But that can't hold you back in investing in your business. Do your due diligence, scrutinize every offer you meet online and pull the trigger when the odds are in your favour. Stop trying to do everything for free.

Go get a job if you must - even if you have to wash cars.

Sell your tv, game, makeup kit, whatever.

And pour all that cash back in.

If an opportunity tells you it will give you a million Naira per month if you execute on it. You do your back of the napkin calculation to see how much it will cost you to execute and it falls at 500,000 Naira. The thing on your mind shouldn't be 'but i can't afford the 500k' like most people.

It should be 'what do I have to do to get this 500 grand a month to make this 1,000,000 grand a month.

Look at every organization you envy. Every man on earth making moolah and banking dough, there is one commonality with them all:

They outspent their competitors.

Good luck taking Linda Ikeji headlong on a new social media business venture.

Good luck trying to out compete Kim Kardashian on your new make up line.

Good Luck trying to start a forum like Nairaland and put them out of business.

These guys will outspend you and put you out of business.

Oh, and goodluck trying to rank for any keyword my cash throwing clients are trying to rank for too.

P.S. That story was made up.

P.S.S. Because we know some just don't have the cash for now - our 1-1 consultation now comes with a free package. Most people are attracted to blogging because it;s really easy to do and requires little upfront capital.

In fact you can start a blog for as little 2,000 naira a month.

But here is the problem with blogging:

The biggest problem with blogging is that making money and attracting an audience is extremely difficult and takes a long time.

Blogging is by far the worst way you can make money in the short term.

And the problem is, a lot of people don't have the patience and perseverance to see out the barren months or years. So they give up before they can have any form of success.

Yesterday, I said I was going to talk about what my friend John did to flip a site for 6 million Naira in under twelve months.

Here:

He started an online store selling physical products.

Starting an online store is by far the fastest way to make money online and it doesn't have to be expensive.

The reason why an online store makes you more money that a regular blog and faster is because you make the most profit per sale. This is because you are selling your own goods which means that you control the margins.

So you need less conversions in order to make significant profit.

Another important advantage of online stores over regular blogs is that since profit margins are so much higher, you can make paid traffic work. That means you can buy your traffic through PPC services like Adwords, Facebook and other forms of advertising.

The good thing about buying your traffic is that you can completely bypass the initial slow period of your website and start making money right away.

With a blog monetized through ads, you just can't make enough per click to make paid traffic work hence the reason people go down the organic traffic route which is characterized by a long wait before you make a single dime. If at all.

Opening an online store also carries another significant advantage.

What is it?:

The barriers to entry are much higher than in the blogosphere.

It isn't as saturated as blogging because it takes more effort to start an online store than a blog.

The big advantage with starting a blog is that it's very inexpensive and easy to start. But that has become the business model's Achilles heel.

Since everyone and their dog can throw up a wordpress site in 5 minutes, it's harder to stand out with your blog.

There are 2 million blogs started per day. That is amazeballs!

This were the things I discussed with our friend 'John' two years ago.

Now we want to give away the exact step by step method we took to creating, running and later selling a very profitable eCommerce site.

Hello broses in the house, I want to own a blog but the hosting and design I have been seeing is expensive...

Can't I get started with 1k only?

I don't think you can actually get started with just 1k.

1k is hard to start anything with.

You could go for a blogger's free or a free site if you are strapped for cash.

Then you can save and get your custom site.
