If u check the p11 144 manual very well ,u will note that the 5w30 is the only oil grade that the manufacturer recommend that will give the best fuel economy and works at all range of temperature .So if u want the best for your car in term of performance ,fuel mileage ,I will advice you go for 5w30 oil grade ,though 5w40 is equal good for p11 144 as well .
I use p11 144 as well and the car still give me fuel mileage of over 12km/litre even at old age mileage of over 300,000 km and i have never use any engine oil other than 5w30 for servicing .

Thanks. I will reach you when it is due for service. Its just that I was advised against engine oil brands like milemaster, coastal, Hardex and others where grades like 5W30 synthetics oil are common and cheaper. I don't know why many people consider them not good products. Do you have any clue about this trend?

Bro, u're right on track, I also make use of a primera p11-144. I mostly service the vehicle wit the recommended 10w-40 semi synthetic, but the last time I serviced the vehicle, I couldn't find the 10w-40 variant, so I just had to settle for total 15w-50 semi synthetic which I believe is just as good. But I believe the key to having a well maintained engine is by adhering to a proper servicing schedule.

The answer stares you in the face, yet you refuse to consider it. The car came from a temperate region; even then the original owner found it wise to move up to 10w40. Use our 20w50 which the manual referred to as "for other climate."
Let me quote what the factory service manual of your car says:
"For warm and cold areas: 10W-30 is suitable. The use of 5W-30 can have a positive effect on fuel economy (ACEA A1-98). For hot areas: 20W-40 and 20W-50 are suitable. For cold and warm areas: 10W-30 is preferable for ambient temperatures above −20°C (−4°F). On turbocharger models, 5W-20 is not recommended, and 5W-30 should be use only below 0°C (32°F). For hot areas: 20W-40 and 20W-50 are suitable."
Where would you put Nigeria: cold, warm, or hot?

Mr. Gazzuzz, pls is there a danger in leaving the engine oil 20w 50 in my car for more than 2 months no(less than 3000 mileage)? Though I have ordered for milemaster 5w 30(recommended for my car) oil online to replace it immediately. Am afraid if I have left the current oil more than neccessary so far.

I was discussing with friends(of diffrent political lineage) this morning about the change of presidential inauguration, particularly the stewardship of PDP as the ruling party in Nigeria, in the last 16 years. Top most in the discussion was if PDP can be identified with any heroic or popular ideology or legacy for the 16 years they ruled this country. The harmless conversation between friends turned something else and almost degenerated to a situation where good friends almost exchange of blows. The contentious issue is that for about 16 years and with the abundant national human and other resources available to it to turn the fortunes of the nation around, PDP could not carve a niche for itself, i.e that they cannot boast of any viable legacy or ideology which can serve as role model or constructive authority for the nation and her teeming population. Please, I have brought same argument here, because I believe Nairaland is a viable platform to collate the views of all from which one can filter out the end result. So, I hereby throw this question to Nairalanders: What legacy, ideology or value worthy of emulation or role model is the 'largest political party in Africa', PDP leaving for the nation and its citizenry to live by?

In preparation for its final handing over formalities to the incoming administration, the Federal Executive Council, FEC, will be formally dissolved today.

The session which will be presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan is expected to witness a formal speech by the President, highlighting his achievements while in office since May 29, 2011.


Ministers are also expected to make speeches on their experience as members of the council under President Jonathan.
The meeting which is expected to commence by 11am will afford each minister an opportunity to relieve his experience while in office.
Jonathan is expected to round up the session with a speech highlighting his achievements in office while setting agenda for the in coming administration.

President Jonathan is expected to leave the Presidential Villa on Friday morning for Port Harcourt, enroute Otuoke, his ancestral home.
