Before the 2015 presidential elections, one of the young bright minds of Yoruba extraction that I respected so much, was Yinka Odumakin, a civil activist and Publicity Secretary of the Yoruba cultural group, Afenifere. I have always stood in awe anytime he speaks on national issues and since, it has always been a delight watching him talk on Television, in workshops and reading his published views. Odumakin has always been with the progressive opposition, because he appeared to have the carriage of the Awo(progressive) element like what many politicians in South West will claim. Even in the previous contests by Buhari for the presidency, Odumakin played important roles, especially as Buhari's spoke person. But I was taken aback that during the last presidential elections, Odumakin was not only campaigning vigorously for PDP, he was even insulting the APC, its leadership and Presidential candidate - Buhari. In one of his interviews on channels, I saw a man in him who must have collected his own share of the alleged PDP dollars. Odumakin talked so much in a boastful manner, how Buhari would not win the elections, judging from his past experience working with him; how the Yoruba race have mobilized to support Jonathan, how he has produced a book to counter Obasanjo's book which attacked Jonathan and so many issues he talked all clearly in support of the PDP. Now. It is amazing that since after the elections, I have neither heard from Odumakin, atleast congratulating his former man, Buhari, nor heard from him speaking on national issues as usual of him. Pls can somebody tell me where Odumakin is? May be he is yet to recover from the shock of the results of the election? Or he is yet to come to terms where his political relevance remains as a result of his political miscalculations. Just imagine if had remain the Spoke person of Buhari at this 'change' dispensation!

Guru in the house, pls help explain the function(s) of these symbols 'S', 'A/T','*'. They are situated close to the handbrake. The 'S' turns yellow when on while the A/T turns red when on. Really don't know what they represent in my Nissan Primera car.

Cruise control and overdrive on/off are 2 different things. Overdrive on/off is used to prevent the car from selecting the highest gear. For example, if ur car is 4 speed automatic, having overdrive off will prevent the car from shifting to the 4th gear, that is it won't shift past gear 3. It will let the car hold on to lower gears until high rev than in overdrive. Useful when going up a hill and ur car loses power at higher gears, having overdrive off will let the car maintain lower gears until ur rpm is higher.

Cruise control on the other hand is useful on highway especially when there are less cars on the road. It let's u maintain a predefined speed without having to press the accelerator, this greatly helps improving ur fuel economy. It can only be activated at about 60km/hr upwards. The switch is always located on the steering wheel, (some Camry models have it beside the steering where the turn signal is). Let's say u want to maintain a speed of 100km/hr, once u get to that speed, activate ur cruise control, then remove ur leg from the accelerator. The car will drive itself, the ecu will input the right gear and rpm to maintain that speed. All u have to do is steer, u only have to press the brake when necessary, but once u press the brake, the cruise is reset and u have to set it again. However, if u have adaptive cruise control, then ur car will control both acceleration and braking for u once it senses a car in front of u depending on the set distance, all u have to do is steer. Don't try this in city driving though.

Driving in traffic with ac on is a major fuel sucker, especially on a hot afternoon. Ironically that is the most important time to use ur ac because of he hot weather. U might end up using 2 times the amount of fuel in a 2 hours drive in traffic depending on driving condition. On the highway however, it is different, again depending on driving conditions. U will use more fuel if u have a heavy foot and like to accelerate and then brake all the time. U will use less fuel if u take things easy and use ur cruise control on freeways.

What is cruise control? Is the same thing as Over Drive off/on? What is purpose of Overdrive off/on?

Uzairue is not a town/city. It is Clan, reputed to be one of the biggest in Nigeria. It comprises of different towns, cities and villages, e.g. Jattu(ikpe), Apana, Afowa, Afashio, Ayogwiri, Iyamho(oshiomole's hometown), ikabigbo, Uluoke, etc, etc. Ogieneni is the name of the chief that overseas the whole of Uzairue clan.

Oba of Benin is not the King of Edo State, but of the Binis. That's why he is called the Oba of Benin and not Oba of Edo. For instance, in Oyo state, you have the Alafin of Oyo for the oyo people and Olubadan of Ibadan for the Ibadan people all in one state. Does that make Alafin of Oyo the king of the whole of Oyo state? No

Oga, I have not told you that the Oba is not higher in ranking to the others, but both are autonomous. Oba of Benin does not rule over the whole of Edo State, but 'EDO', which are the Binis. He only suprintend over the other chiefs as a permanent head of the Edo Traditional Council and not as the overall Oba of the whole of Edo state. Mind you, there is difference between 'Edo' and Edo State. It is however a fact that almost all the people of Edo State have a lienage to Bini.

Edo state has different autonomous chiefs, for instance the Oba of Benin covers the whole of Bini(Edo South), Auchi as clan has its Otaru, so is the Ogieneni for Uzairue, Okuokpellagbe of Okpella, the Onwueweko of Okpekpe, etc. The Edo Traditional Council has the Oba of Benin as the permanent head.

The young man is the the Ogieneni of Uzairue, where Oshiomole comes from, while the middle man is the Otaru of Auchi.

Sorry for that. Thanks for the positive comments. I have even sent this post link to the woman, for her to read thru and look at the advice.

And don't forget that the then President, Yar a'dua, set up a committee to check the level of the power projects, where it was discovered that actually there were a lot of the projects ongoing, some being handled by Niger Delta Power Company and the National Integrated Power Projects. Some of the projects were commissioned by OBJ himself, some commissioned by Yar a'adua and some commissioned by Pres. Jonathan. Some of them are still ongoing. If I can remember vividly, the only snag about the projects was the granting og unneccessary tax waivers worth about 6 billion dollars and delays in executions of the projects. Nobody said that Obasanjo embezzled the power projects money. The question we should be asking is, since 1999 that PDP was in power, what has it achieved in the power sector, after spending over 30 billion Dollars on it. What we see today is that the power has been sold to business men who in turn are chraging Nigerians high bills for electricity that is never available.

Please, a friend of mine, Mrs. AB got married as a virgin to Mr. B when she was about 22. Both of them are christians. The marriage is about 17 years old now with 4 fine and brilliant children( all boys). One is about gaining admission into a higher sch. My friend married this man when he was a mere council worker, but rose thru the ranks and by providence based on where he came from, he became a Council Vice Chairman. This is where the problem started. This man started womanizing at will and now not only has he married about 3 women outside his marital home, the latest is that this same man, as am typing this post is in his village celebrating another girl whom he impregnated as well and the girl's parrents hurriedly packaged the girl's marriage to the man. The main wife , who is my friend, is in another city where they live, the 3 other women live in separate locations and now the new wife is in the guys house(a house he struggled with the first wife's effort to build) in their village(they are both from the same place). My friend, who is the authentic and senior wife is helpless and dying in silence. The husband does not show love to her anymore and for more than a year now, no intimacy between then, no caring for her and children and he can even stay for weeks without coming home. We have been advising the woman not to despair, that God will intervene. Now, the woman says she is fed up with her husband womanizing and keeping of 4 other women outside. Worst still is that the husband do not care for the children; she takes care of the children alone, pays their fees and other welfare from the meagre salary she earns from her office. Now, ths woman needs constructive advice from me on what to do. As for me, I have, as I have always done for the past few years that her travails started, advised her to take it easy that God will intervene and she will laugh last, but she is refusing to take it anymore. She is thinking of divorce, but she fears what the world will be like for her and her children when she divorces. I, along with other concerned persons have bene advising her against that option especially because of the children. Today when she heard the news of her husband's new wife, she fainted again, she is feeling really downcast. She can't stop crying now. Before she takes bad option(s), pls leave you palliative advice here, which I will convey to her. Who knows, your comment can save a home and save souls.
