Pls, leave this man alone. Very soon he will get a presidential pardon or a new judgement of the judiciary declaring him to have been wrongly convicted. Thereafter, he will now go to contest for the Senate. |
Stephen Keshi will reportedly sign a new deal with the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) and will now be earning seven million Naira per month. The deal is expected to be a 12-month contract that will elapse at the end of 2015. Keshi’s last contract with the NFF which ended after the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament was at N5million per month. And one of the reasons why a deal failed to be brokered since then was the haggling over the price he wanted to be paid. While the previous NFF board were said to have been insistent on retaining the N5million price-tag that he was paid, some reports claimed that Keshi wanted N10million, which stalled the deal. But with the turn of events of late, and also the intervention of government which saw Keshi brought back after he was dismissed in October, a truce seems to have been reached. Keshi will now earn N7million per month, which will culminate into N84million by the time the contract expires next year. Source: Vanguard |

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has told his Ekiti state counterpart, Mr Ayodele Fayose, to buckle up and face the task of governance rather than drag his (Oshiomhole’s) name into the political gangsterism that has become peculiar with the Ekiti State Governor. In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Peter Okhiria, Oshiomhole said “we find it utterly laughable and the height of political childishness for the Ekiti State Governor to hide behind his media aides and seek to drag the name of the Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, into his crude gangster tactics which he has re-introduced into Ekiti politics less than two months after assuming office. “If the Ekiti Governor is too lazy to read and too politically illiterate to know what is happening in Edo State House of Assembly, we expected his psychedelic media aides to simply shut their loud mouths rather than behave like capering neophytes. “For the purpose of educating them, the Ekiti Governor and his media aides should be informed that there is no crisis in Edo State House of Assembly. Fifteen members of the 24-member Assembly are members of the All Progressives Congress, while nine are members of the opposition PDP. Of the nine PDP members, three are on suspension while the seat of one member has been declared vacant. So, effectively, the PDP has five members in the Edo State House of Assembly. “Even a kindergarten child knows that 15 is greater than 5. So if five PDP members decide to sit with three suspended members and another whose seat was declared vacant in a chamber which is undergoing renovation, then we can at best regard that as the height of crass legislative irresponsibility. “It is ridiculous to even contemplate that the Ekiti Governor and his media aides do not know that 15 is greater than five! For sure, they seem engrossed with their stomach infrastructure mantra, such a dubious contraption which can only be contrived by an ideologically clueless and gluttonous administration. “But for the kind of democracy we practice in Nigeria, where the PDP promotes and condones all manners of illegalities, inanities and shenanigans which have become the second nature of that party, Ayodele Fayose would have been cooling off his heels in prison rather than brandishing the appellation of being a Governor. “We are thoroughly ashamed that Ekiti State, hitherto known as the fountain of knowledge, is being reduced to a mindless bubble by a man running her affairs without a discernible direction like a drowning man clutching desperately at flotsam. “We advise Fayose to restrict his gung-ho area boy tactics to Ekiti state and stop dropping the name of Governor Adams Oshiomhole to shore up his jaded image. Governance comes with decorum, respect and responsibility. If Ekiti people with all their avowed sophistication and intellectuality have elected to present a political rascal as their number one citizen, so be it; but they must understand that there is a huge difference between character and infamy.”. In a new twist to and long after his removal as Naional Chairman of the ruling People Democratic Party, Alhaji Bamaga Tukur has demanded his reinstatment, citing as invalid and error, the resignation he tendered which removed him from the position earlier this year. Mr. Tukur resigned from office in January following campaigns mounted by party members that he should do so barely two years after his election at its convention in March 2012. He was succeeded by Mr. Mu’azu. But a member of the PDP, Aliyu Gurin, recently filed a suit at the Federal High Court, Abuja, seeking Mr. Mu’azu’s sack and also to stop the party’s coming delegates’ convention slated for December 11 and 12. Mr. Gurin, a House of Representatives aspirant from Adamawa State, contended that Mr. Tukur’s resignation did not comply with the provision of Section 47(5) of the constitution of the party. The section stipulates that a 30-day notice be given to the National Executive Committee by a national chairman resigning from office. Mr. Tukur was joined as second defendant in the suit while Mr. Mu’azu and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, are 1st and 3rd respondents. However, in a counter-claim filed at the court registry by his counsel, Adamson Adeboro on Wednesday, Mr. Tukur asked the court to grant an order to allow him return to office until 2016 when his four-year tenure ought to have expired. The former national chairman argued that he was forced to quit the job to pave way for the return of some governors who defected from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress, APC, to return to the ruling party. The governors are Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara), Rabi’u Kwankwaso (Kano), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto) and Murtala Nyako (Adamawa). Mr. Tukur, a former governor of the old Gongola State, said following the defection of the governors, the PDP leader, President Goodluck Jonathan came under pressure to sack him as national chairman to enable them come back. He asked for an order to set aside his purported resignation letter of January 15 and restore him to his job as substantive and duly-elected chairman of the PDP. He also asked the court to stop the PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, from further “recognizing, permitting or allowing Mu’azu to preside over the affairs of the party”. Mr. Tukur asked the court to declare his resignation and the appointment of Mr. Mu’azu null and void in line with Section 45(1) and (2) of the PDP constitution. The former PDP national chairman had earlier asked the court to determine whether his purported resignation was in conjunction with Section 47(5) of the party’s constitution as amended. He further asked the court to decide if Mu’azu’s appointment contravened Section 45(1) and (2) of the party constitution, Section 85(3) of the Electoral Act 2010 and Section 223(1) of the 1999 Constitution. In a seven-paragraph affidavit in support of the counter claim deposed to by one Femi Ekperobe, the former national chairman said he stepped aside to enable the defected governors return, but that to his chagring, they are yet to do so 10 months after. Mr. Tukur said even if he were to resign following pressure mounted on him, the party’s constitution demands that he should hand over to his deputy, who will act as national chairman pending the convening of a national convention where a substantive national chairman would now be elected. He insisted that the National Executive Committee, NEC, of the party lacked the power to appoint the national chairman. According to him, the votes and proceedings of the NEC meeting of January 15, the day he resigned, were a nullity. He said his letter of resignation contravened Section 47 (5) of the PDP constitution. Mr. Tukur said Mr. Mu’azu lacked the power to preside over the coming convention. The former national chairman, however, said it would be in the interest of all parties if status quo ante bellum was maintained, pending the coming convention during which a new chairman would be elected. The trial judge, Justice Evoh Chukwu, will hear Mr. Tukur’s request on Thursday. Source: Premium Times

The Senate President, Senator David Mark, in his capacity as the Chairman of the National Assembly, has ordered it to be shut down and to be re-opened and re-convening of pleminaries on Tuesday, next week. This order may not be unconnected with the imminent crises at the nations Legistlative complex, wherein security operatives prevented the Speaker of the lower legislative chamber(house of representatives) from entering the chambers for legislative business of the day. Sources even confirmed that the speaker and his entourage comprised mainly of members of his opposition party - APC, were tear gassed, as the Speaker was being smuggled into the complex by his colleagues in the chamber - Raypower Fm news Flash, Details Later. |
Leave IK Uche out of this mess that is called Super Eagles. Don't forget that he has not played with these players for over a year. So he needs time to blend properly. |
It is just a mere coincidence. Don't forget that we were already on this road before Equatorial Guinea replaced Morocco as host. |
