[quote author=Ologorione1 post=27231284]Some news says they will be released in saudi arabia while you are saying chad. Which one person go believe sef?[/quote)Whether they are released in Saudi Arabia, Chad or even in my Edo village, all we want is their release. |
News just filtering in, has it that the kidnapped Chibok secondary school girls will be released on Monday, the 20th day of October, 2014, in the Republic of Chad. This is sequel to the cease fire agreement between the insurgents and the the Nigerian government. This will be a great relief for the already despodent and griefed families of these girls and their sympathizers cut across the world, especially the #Bringbackourgirls group. mafioso:Why the question? Ikpoba Okha L.G.is the largest LGA in Edo South and the second most populous in Edo State. For your information each of the Wards in the LGA is over 4,000 persons. |
If not for President Jonathan that is giving these alleged drug barons and indicted elements front line positions in Nigerian politics and government, people like Kashamu and his cohorts would not be walking free in this country, let alone holding exalted positions in PDP just to spite Obasanjo - biting the finger that fed you, for selfish reasons. Kashamu should stop using President's Jonathan's re-election issue as an excuse or reason why he is fighting Obasanjo. And the President is allowing these questionable men to use him to perpertrate evils because they are 'fighting' for Jonathan's re-election. Am so sorry for this country. |
Fayemi who cannot win a governorship election in his Ekiti domain. Buhari is heading for serious failure with Fayemi. The likes of Adams Oshiomole of Edo State, Amaechi Rotimi of Rivers State, Rochas Okorocha can fit in better. |
No wonder some youths in F.C.T rose up one morning to begin to campaign that Sen. Bala Mohammed should not resign, but should remain as F.C.T Minister. |

Coach Stephen Keshi and captain Vincent Enyeama have apologised to Nigerians for the stunning 1-0 defeat by Sudan in Khartoum on Saturday. The Super Eagles returned to the country on Sunday morning to be met by an unfriendly reception from fans at the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport following their disappointing performance in Khartoum less than 24 hours ago. The 52-year-old tactician, while addressing a handful of sports journalists, rued a couple of wasted chances early into the crucial 2015 Afcon qualifying match and says the team will bounce right back on Wednesday when the host the Sudanese in a return leg fixture. “I must ask you to help me apologise to Nigerians for this loss because they have so much belief in this team and here we are disappointing them,” Keshi said. “The day was simply not ours, because we had a couple of early chances that we would have used to bury the game but the ball simply refused to enter into the net. “Once again on behalf of the team I want to apologise to Nigerians and promise them we will make an immediate amend come Wednesday. “This is the first time I am doing this in my entire career as a player and coach.” Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama added: “We didn’t go out there to lose to Sudan but it has happened and that is now history and I apologise on behalf of my teammates for that but we must quickly forgive and forget because we have a game on Wednesday and if we win that and our last two games, we will still be in Morocco. “Let Nigerians forgive us and also pray for us to win our remaining games. Bash Ali is a household name within the Nigerian boxing family. He is a boxer in the light weight category, who has won many laurels for himself both within and outside Nigeria. This Edo State born pugilist is over 50 years old and plans to stage a world boxing championship in Nigeria sometime later in the year, which according to him, apart from its economic benfits to the country, will put both him and Nigeria into the Guiness Book of Records. I was really amazed the way he demonstrated his passion for Nigeria, during the interview on Channels TV, anchored by one Ify, on Wednesday evening. During the interview session, he spoke of his boxing history, about Nigerians and Nigeria, but what struck me most was his aspirations which he said must accomplish before he leaves for the world beyond. Firstly, he said in his upcoming world boxing event, after knocking out his opponent, he will now take on Nigerian, Samuel Peter, knock him out, after which he would like to fight and knock out either of the Klitchisko brothers. He said after accomplishing these feats, he would resign from boxing to join politcs and he would like to solve the problems bedeviling Nigeria, by trying as much as it can take to become the President of Nigeria. I think we must give this man kudos for what he has set his mind at, even at an age over 50 years, I wonder how this man - Bash Ali is going to actualize the targets he has set for himself. Wishing him all the best of 'goodluck'. |
huptin: DeniyiBabasola:I am not contending whether Jonathan was sworn in with or without a Vice. If you have a superior and/or contrary position, please let me know and stop being primitive on Nairaland. My friend, my contention is, is it the law that a Governor can be sworn in without a Deputy? You must know that because it happened unchallenged during President Jonathan does not qualify it to be the position of the law. We all know the 'circumstances' at which the then acting president Jonathan became a substantive President. @ DeniyiBabasola: Wake up bro, this is an intellectual discourse for Learned men and not for lay men like you. |
It is no longer news that the former deputy Governor of Adamawa - Mr. Bala Ngilari has been sworn in as the new Governor of Adamawa State, thanks to the Nigerian Courts. But, I must ask, was he sworn in along with a Deputy, which I think is the position of the law? I supposed the Nigerian Constitution has it that a Governor shall be sworn in along with a deputy Governor. So, if that is the position of the law, it is right therefore to say that the swearing in of Mr. Bala Ngilari, as the sustantive Governor of Adamawa State is illegal, null and void. I urge aggrieved and concerned stakholder to go to court for this, I but you, it will be an interesting scenario. |
Where is the deputy? Another constitutional crises if he was sworn in without a deputy. |
donphilopus:Yes, I am. I am privy to the politics of hatred going on there and by extension, Edo state in general and Nigeria at large. |
What kind of one sided report is this? You did not report that there was a fracas(two fighting) between both parties and their supporters, neither did you attempt at all to state what led to the fight between both parties. Moreover, you said the Hon. Razak is feared dead, yet you are posting pictures of him on the hospital bed, alive and alert and you did not tell Nigerians that the other party(Hon. Philip) sustained serious injuries too. Can a dead man be alive, since this pictures of Hon. Do not suggest he is dead. Maybe he is alive while he is dead. On s serious note, the instant issue has nothing to do with the APC or Oshiomole versus PDP crises in Edo State. It is simply a fall out of the long rivarly(both political, social and economic) between Etsako Constituency 1(comprising of Auchi) where Hon. Razak comes from and Etsako Constituency 2(comprised mainly of Uzairue, consisting of Jattu, etc) where Hon. Philip Shuaibu and Gov. Adams Oshiomole hail from. These two brothers and neighbours- the peoples of Auchi and Uzairue, particularly Jattu or Ikpe, are traditionally sworn enemies. |

For over two weeks now, a Nigerian military jet has been declared missing, and just when Nigerians, as usual, began to forget about the missing jet, the supposedly killed Boko Haram's leader - Shekau, came up with a vedio that they(the Boko Haramites) shot down the jet and captured one of the Pilots, whom as recorded in the vedio, they slaughtered. The Military has immediately debunked the caim that the jet was shot down and that the Pilot killed was a member of the Nigerian Military. It could be recall that the jet in issue got missing amidst the euphoria of successive and successful operations by the Military, which resulted in the killings of so many of the insurgents and their leader. In the midst of celebrations over the defeat of the insurgents, the issue of the collapsed Synagogue Church took the shine off the issue of the missing jet, which made Nigerians to almost forget if there was a missing jet. Then came the purported video. The claim by Shekau that his boys shot down the jet and captured the co-pilot has been refuted by the military, saying that actually the jet is missing, but it was not down by the Boko Haram. My question now is this, if a military jet is missing and your enemy says he shot at it and it crashed and even captured one of the surviving pilots, why wouldn't the Nigerian military investigates the veracity of the claim before denying such? So, we assume the jet is not missing in the first place, but if it is missing, and the Army insists that it was not shot down, WHERE IS THE MILITARY JET? |
egift:So, where is the jet? |
ayaomoade:Thanks sister. I will take it up with her. We will make the decision of keeping it. |

Nigeria’s military on Friday dismissed claims that a man beheaded by Boko Haram fighters in the group’s latest video was an air force pilot in a fighter jet that went missing three weeks ago. Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau had claimed in the footage obtained by AFP on Thursday that militants shot down the Alpha Jet and showed wreckage of an aircraft which included the Nigerian Air Force’s green and white roundel. A man, wearing a camouflage print T-shirt and with a heavily bandaged hand in a sling, was seen later kneeling in front of an unmasked Boko Haram fighter in combat fatigues and saying in English that he was one of the pilots. He appears to give his name, rank and date of birth but the video is inaudible. He is killed after he finishes speaking. Asked directly about whether the man was an air force pilot, as claimed, spokesman Air Commodore Dele Alonge told AFP: “The man shown in the Boko Haram video is not our officer. “The picture of a man beheaded in the video is superimposed,” he said without elaborating. “Our plane is still missing and we are looking for it. Boko Haram is just making unfounded claims.” AFP asked the same question to defence spokesman Major General Chris Olukolade, who announced last week that Shekau was dead. He said: “No level or amount of barbaric display of bestial atrocities will distract the Nigerian military from sustaining the tempo of ongoing operations to decimate, degrade and bring the remnants of the terrorists already in disarray to due justice. “The campaign against terror is still recording the expected result in the front. Nigerians should not despair,” he said in a text message that was repeated on his Twitter account. Nigeria’s military has been under pressure to reverse Boko Haram territorial gains in three northeast states in recent months, with reports that soldiers have fled militant attacks and complaints about a lack of adequate weapons. According to one security analyst who tracks the conflict, the Alpha Jet sent a signal that it had been hit and the two pilots’ families met air force officers in the days that followed and were told it had crashed. The jet came down in the heart of rebel-held territory, making search and rescue impossible, he added. In the video, Shekau is seen on the back of a pick-up truck firing a powerful anti-aircraft gun and boasting about other aircraft Boko Haram has shot down. Source: Vanguard

If we could recall, when Keshi won the African Nations Cup as a Coach with the Super Eagles, his ego and apparent sense of a high class coach rose, to the extent that he began to run his mouth, talking carelessly, taking on any body who comes his way, including the NFF and players. Not done yet, Keshi even almost got emeshed in a racial row when he said African black Coaches are better than the white dudes who are only interested in making monies from Africa and not for the interest of the game. Back home in Nigeria, Keshi was loved and adored by majority of Nigerians and some foreign countries as a result of his feat (Nations Cup trophy) with the Super Eagles. Then it seemed Keshi became over pampered - pride and arrogance crept into Keshi's life that Keshi was threatening Nigerians that he was no longer interested in coaching the Super Eagles, as so many African Nations are wooing him, with better pay and terms to coach their National teams. Keshi sold this bait to NFF, Nigerians and even the presdent, that it took the effort of the President of Nigeria for Keshi to back down from 'abandoning' the Super Eagles to coach another national team( which was really never on card for him in the first place). Then again, immediately the Eagles qualified for the World Cup and even during the course of the World Cup hostilities, Keshi began to sing fresh songs that he would not coach Eagles after the World Cup, that African and non African countries need him to manage their National team, with better pay and terms. For instance, Keshi was so confident that he believed that the South African coaching job has been reserved for him to pick, when he returns from Brazil. At the world cup, we all saw how our Super Eagles played(at best, they got to the round of 16), but what most Nigerians did not know is that these foreign nations eager to contract Keshi as their coach, if there was any at all, saw the technical ability and/or inability of Keshi. So, all of a sudden the supposed other countries wanting to contract Keshi are no more there? Now, Keshi, who used to toss the NFF and Nigerians around, is now the one being tossed around by NFF and Nigerians. MY REPORTS CARD: As a citizen of Nigeria and a stakeholder in the affairs of Nigeria, I will say that Keshi does not have what he brags about. I thought by now, after these dribblings, coupled with the uncertainty surrounding the renewal of his contract, Keshi would have gone ahead to sign for the supposed African Nations. His fate as coach of the Super Eagles is actually uncertain and if I were coach Stephen Keshi, this is the time he should call the bluff and jump at the "numerous better offers" he has always been bragging about. What is he waiting for? May be until, he is disgraced out or are these offers no longer in the card for him? Some Nigerians like me have began to wonder why was he always threatneing Nigeria (a country that gave him the opportunity of winning the Nations cup and to coach at the world cup) with his bragging? This would have been the best time for him to leave, to allow a breathe of fresh air in the Super Eagles. Is he stranded, confused or he does not know his onions? |
