No, I'm not a tribalist at all, it's just that when you're Xhosa moving to other parts of S.A, you're either met with suspicion or hear statements which make you feel like an outsider. I have lived in Polokwane & the reception was not well. People think we steal other people's men etc. Now I live in Pretoria, I have had very few incidents here & the people are less judgmental etc.

Anyway, I didnt know South Africans have an accent lol. Guess one cant tell if they they have an accent themselves, it's much easier to recognise it from other people. Le shrug.

the accent thing is common to most people in southern africa
like you pronounce english words with like its a native word

In S.A, if I'm being brutally honest, there are 2 or maybe 3 tribes/groups known for being beautiful/handsome. The Xhosa lead in the looks department (if you exclude the Coloureds), which is why they get the most hate...especially Xhosa women. There was even an episode on one of the tv shows (Shift) dedicated to bash Xhosa women. So I don't take offence at all because I know MY people are not responsible for making S.A fugly lol.

I, for one, would argue that the song is about mockery of the culture we celebrates today, I mean who brags about tiger and gold plated everything when your folks are still struggling to feed their children, when they can’t pull themselves out of the situation they’re in no matter how hard they struggle against it. This is what artist like conscious rapper like Lupe Fiasco have been warning about.
Hip hop was something beautiful, once. It was the soul of a people, laid out for everyone to see.
