I do everything i ought to do as a Christian,
but when Sunday comes around,
going to church just bites me.
What could be the matter?

The is nothing wrong, sunday worship is not compulsory contrary to the impression you are given in church. you would be suprised but there is no directive to christians concerning weekly church services even though fellowship of belivers was encouraged. but the kind of practise the early christians operated is entirely different from what is going on in today's churches.

Just like my sister said,
you dont go to church to mark register
but dont forsake the gatherings of believers
like we were instructed.

The church as we have it today is not the same as the church that was established by the apsotles and the "gathering of believers" being refered to by Paul were actually church fellowships and not church services . Church services as we have it to day are not scriptural. In those days "gathering of believers" was interactive and every body could talk, share the word and ask questions. They also used to share meals, but in today's churches your voice is not heard the pastor just mounts the pulpit and tells you what he wants. You can't even ask questions. If today's churches are organized the way the early churches operated, i am sure you would enjoy the "gathering of beleivers" more than today's church services.

I have jst finished fighting thesame thing myself, Even changed my church for a while. i cldnt get any satisfaction in going to church. my mum and boyfy had to bring me around. i am guessing it is just a phase. it will pass. Despite missing church for a while, The Word stayed with me. That is the most important thing

Too much religiosity, very little spiritual impartation. Christ didnt "force" people to attend 2000 services/crusades a week. He simply preached and to he who would choose to hear the master . . . such was blessed.

Obey the Commandments of God, Love ur neigbor as u love ur self, also love God too,

Nothing here suggests a fixed routine. There's simply an injunction not to make absenteeism from gathering of believers a habitual thing. Many so-called pastors have overflogged it just because of the "offering" section of such gatherings, I'm yet to see any portion of scripture that mandates offering collection at every gathering of believers though.
There is the commandment:
Exo 20:8
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
I therefore try to ensure that I consecrate at least a day of the week to God. Mind u God, not necessarily church though both go together most times.
Mid-week services just don’t cut it for me.
I love what janami said however, it’s a phase. U just ensure your relationship with God stays hot & burning nonetheless.

i just feel weird on a sunday sitting at home.

i hvnt gone to church for the past three weeks now.

My new year resolution was to attend church at least every sunday.
That only lasted till the end of January, I haven't been to sunday service since February.
I made that resolution because I felt there was a large chasm in the 'assembling' area but that didn't help nothing.
And to think I was once a spirikoko!!!

All I can say is that I feel you.
I hope something (positive not negative o) changes this situation soon.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with you.
I dont go to church anymore myself _{(apart from when I am bored and need to get a good laugh)}
This going to church every sunday is just a ritual which after a period get extremely boring especially if you have been attending church all your life. The services are basically the same, the songs are the same, the offering and tithe collection is a must, and what have you??

In my case, I first of all found out that churches basically recycle the same preachng over and over under different topics. The new fad is for the pastors to go learn the greek meaning of every word and then try to get other meanings out of it. I then realised the hypocrisy of church after I noticed that these pastor are like the smart version of Robin Hood _{(using the concept of robbing both the rich and the poor to enrich themselves)}. After much thinking, I found out that churches basically prey on the fears and insecurity of their congregation to exploit them of all their money and other possesions. Oh! and not forgetting their new found powers of persuation and hypnotism, first of all they calmly psyc their congregation with some cool well prepared sermon, then they whip the crowd into a frenzy with Praise songs and then they move into the hypnotism part which is the worship where people start getting light headed and falling down all in the name of anointing, followed by the prophecy part where they start telling you bout your future, then the merchandising follows with books, handkerchiefs, olive oils, holy water, e.t.c.
Despite all this, I noticed that nothing really changes. The poor in church are still as poor as they were while the rich and ofcourse the pastor basically get richer cos they have jobs from which they make money. I could go on and outline the whole plot of the drama you call church. If I open a church today, I'll be a very popular pastor in under a year.

So my dear there is absolutely nothing wrong with your not going to church.
If you ask me I'll say watch TBN on sunday, go for a drive and give alms to the poor, go home, eat, sleep and prepare for another week of hard labour.

well it does happen at times, u aint just feeling church and all.
