^^^ Unfortunately no! I have said it many times before that NL is autocratic. I can't do what annoys the mod but they can do what annoys me, right? It's funny how a lot of people come on here and talk trash at leaders when they, in fact, have mismanaged whatever power they have placed on them. You can imagine some of these moderators acting like they are demigods because they can ban and unban and it makes me wonder what they'd have done if they were president or governors.

I'd say you can't totally call him a dictator because he made it clear in the same constitution that the website is privately owned - which means he decides what or what not to do with it. As harsh as it may sound, I think it's possible for anyone who's not used to the rules to delete their account but I understand we would want a common ground where we are all equal considering that this was supposed to be a genuinely purposed Nigerian website.

If you want to start an argument now over these, you're most likely to fail. Because first of all, I will ask you to name where in the world don't people get in fights, and where in the world don't people attack each other. It only makes it interesting. . . just drop it right there and don't take it any further because I have an issue with every point you've made and I have two motions to prove each of them wrong.

To be a warm (balanced temperature) mod, you must realize that being in charge comports making decisions. The members are the least people to like them. The well being of the forum as a whole comes first before any whims from members.

We're not protesting, we're simply showing you what's right or wrong in our best opinion and the least you can do is come out and defend your decisions. Instead of defending your actions, which should be expected of a leader (moderator in this setting) in a society (forum in this context), all we get is a ban, although I have never personally got into a fight with any mod but I have seen people get banned for it. If a mod is challenged or protested against, such mod should come out and defend their actions and not the protester getting banned. That is outrightly autocratic. I understand it's a private website and the owner can choose to do whatever with it but we are right to expect some equality here.

A good leadership is one that listens and tries to let the follower see its point of actions and decisions to a point where the follower is convinced not sanction the follower if the leadership's concept is not understood or challenged.

I don't understand the supposed warmness of a moderator coming not making the people like them. Are you telling me there aren't mods on this forum that people like? Of course there are and that's because they have mixed up with the people and act like one of them instead of riding on that superiority horse.

Why shouldn't I be able to express my view on a forum because I'm afraid of being banned? If I can't express how I feel wholly, why is it an interactive 'community'? Would it have made any difference if we were being charged a fee? I don't have any issue against any moderator but I have an issue with some moderators' power control and lousy ego.

Mods can't ban. But they can report members. And mind you Seun and Mukina are strict with us. We can't do and undo as we like. We also get punished if we misbehave. Anyways from what I have seen, all these complaints are merely pushed by ignorance. The majority of members simply don't know how the forum works and would rather blame the mods for everything. I see them repeating the same things over and over again even after an explanation.

No mod is liked by everyone. You must not be liked to know you are doing a good job. I don't really mind being hated if that guarantees my section the perfect environment for debates.

And true, moderators are in a privileged positions. They move faster and see more than you. But for the work they do, they deserve a little recognition. And no one bans anybody for being opinionated. There are ways to go about things.

If the authority leads by arrogance, sure why wouldn't I challenge it with what it has laid down for me to follow?

But if an authority is arrogant and you also challenge him with that same attitude, it's obvious you'll get crushed. If you don't give a mod a reason to report you for a ban, even though he does, the admin will ignore it and prolly scold him for abusing of his powers.

Did I mention that I want to start an argument? Im just answering all of your doubts and the remarks you guys make is not fair at all to the Mods here. The rules have been setup and its what every organization or every forum has to ensure that the forum runs smoothly. Yes, u are right that the fighting and all makes the forum interesting and this forum is almost free to let you post anything you want to but once the Mods comes in here to clear the threads which have been filled with too much unwanted or not necessary posts , it is not fair that posters complaints of the job we do. Moderators would usually clear up a [articular thread once other posters have requested for it or they hit the Report to Mod Button.

How would you feel when you set up the rules saying no fighting, no bad words, no bashing and someone started the fights/bash and you do nothing about it cause you think that it makes your forum interesting and sooner or later, everyone takes your authority and your rules for granted cause they know that you are being too leniant?

I believe Mod's have been more leniant than enough and so is Seun but the leniancy do not have to go to that extreme.
