Google Trips is a trip planner mobile app developed by Google for the Android and iOS operating systems. The mobile app launched on September 19, 2016 for Android and iOS.
Now it is hoping to gobble up an even greater share of the disparate online travel market by consolidating all of its travel offerings into one site.
Tech Giant,Google hopes its new desktop site, simply named Trips and found under google.com/travel, will become a one-stop integrated shop for every step of travel from booking flight tickets to planning itineraries to mapping routes to checking the weather to making hotel and restaurant reservations.
Despite unveiling new features, the website will work hand-in-hand with existing features like Google Maps and Google Search, incorporating your search history, bookings, confirmation codes and maps into your travel itinerary.
This can also works the other way around: If you book a restaurant or hotel, the date and time of your booking will show up when you pull up the place in Google Maps.
Travel articles and events pages will also be incorporated into searches of your vacation spot.
The desktop site is not to be confused with its offline mobile travel app called Google Trips, which explains why the site has been confusingly dubbed Trips but can be found under /Travel.

He also pledged to sponsor 300 pilgrims to the holy land this year.
Inaugurating the secretariat on Monday in Calabar, Ayade said that the association had contributed greatly towards the development of the state.
He said that the association had given him immense support in his second term victory, adding that the association was also at the fore front of ensuring peaceful, free and fair polls in the state.
The governor, who received an award as `Friend of CAN,’ promised to redeem his pledge of donating five plots of land, a 32-seater bus and a sport utility vehicle to the association.
“It is my honour to be part of this event today to commission this secretariat. CAN has contributed a lot to the development of this state.
“In view of that, CAN should be ready with a list of political appointments in my second term.
“I wish to call on the association to join hands with me in industrialising the state for economic growth.
“My first term appointment was food on the table but my second term will be hands on the plough because every appointee must bring on board ideas that will move the state forward,’’ Ayade said.
The Chairman of CAN in the state, Archbishop Joseph Ukpo, said that CAN was the largest ecumenical body in Nigeria and that it came into existence in 1976, noting that the state’s chapter had been without a secretariat for many years.
Ukpo said that with the benevolence of the state governor, the inauguration of the secretariat had marked a milestone in the progress and development of CAN in the state.
“As an association, we can achieve greater things together when we prioritise the common good of the association and strive to make sacrifices for the development of this ecumenical body.’’
The archbishop appealed to the governor to redeem the pledge made to the association speedily, to help them plan for the 2019 pilgrimage.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser to Ayade on Religious Affairs, Rev. Fr. Bob Etta, thanked the governor for his support to the association.

According to the photographer known as 'Young Kozzo', he was simply arrested alongside the 'main' suspects while he was there as an 'innocent' photographer.
Sharing his story after he was granted bail on Monday, he wrote,;
As a means to get myself useful even in a country that neither has jobs to offer it's youth nor supports the few that follow their dream to build brand and provide services, I @Kozzographa was doing a video and picture profile for @CzaBoi and @i_am_black_montana scheduled for 3 days in Abuja from 15/05/2019-17/05/2019. on the 3rd day Friday 17/05/2019 at about 6am, Officers and staff of the @officialefcc invaded the house/Studio where we were working following a tip off by an anonymous and arrested the ten of us including @Beat_boi the music producer recording Czaboi's new mixtape Album.
Saying I wasn't nvolved in any fraudulent activity even caused me more drills as I was slapped mercilessly with pepper spray in my eyes. We were taken to the EFCC office in Wuse 2, served jobs and immediately after rolling on the ground our pictures were taken even before stating anything.
We were taken to the AFF department were we gave our statements with all Social media and bank account details and later put in the EFCC cell from Friday 17/05/2019- Monday 20/05/2019. I and @beat_boi were released on bail on Monday after scrutinization of our accounts to find no history of fraud.
On coming out, I found my names and pictures were on @officialefcc instagram page alongside so many other blogs as "suspected Yahoo boys". I met @Czaboi as an artiste who has proper management thus I had no reason to doubt his business.
This is a disclaimer and to clear the air and my reputation that I have never shown interest nor gotten involved in any fraudulent activity, all I do is Photography and Music, Now I will say I was arrested for chasing my dreams. Family sources confirmed that the former minister died on Sunday morning after protracted illness at Nizamiye Turkish Hospital, Abuja.
Late Yakubu Lame was an aspirant for Bauchi State governor on the All Progressive Congress, APC, in the 2019 election, Mr Lame was a senator during the botched Third Republic in 1992.
He was appointed Senior Special Assistant to President Olusegun Obasanjo in August 1999, and later appointed Minister of Police Affairs by President Umaru Yar’Adua in December 2008. The funeral prayer of the late politician was expected to hold at National Mosque, Abuja at 10am on Sunday. The NFF assured Nigerians it had been in constant touch with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on the security arrangements for the teams ahead of the competition.
The federation has been getting daily situation reports, adding that the owners of the competition would take the right decisions for the security of everybody.
“I want to assure Nigerians that the federation would monitor the situation in Egypt and make due consultations before making any pronouncement. The safety of our players is important to the NFF,” NFF First Vice President, Seyi Akinwunmi said.
Reports say an explosion apparently targeting a bus filled with tourists near the pyramids of Giza in Egypt wounded at least 14 people on Sunday.
The attack occurred close to a giant national museum that is under construction near the pyramids and that is scheduled to open next year.
It was the second attack on tourists in Giza in six months, and it suggested that armed militants opposed to President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi were seeking to undermine his authority by hitting tourists at a time when he is planning a gala opening for the long-awaited institution.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Sunday’s attack. Previous violence against tourists has been claimed by the Islamic State’s Egyptian affiliate and by other armed Islamist factions opposed to Mr. el-Sisi.

All Advertisers in the UK, US and Ireland will need to declare whether they do or do not provide abortions.
This Implies That, information will be displayed in Google search results.
According to the policy, the changes will help users “decide which abortion-related ads are relevant to them”.
The policy change follows a report in the Guardian that found the tech giant had provided tens of thousands of dollars in free advertising to an anti-abortion group, whose ads suggest that it performs the procedure at its clinics.
Marge Berer, coordinator for the International Campaign for Women’s Right to Safe Abortion, said that identifying clinics that do not provide abortion services is “extremely important”.
Ms Berer said,”It’s a huge step forward,” “It means women will not have to be trapped into talking to someone they don’t want to talk to and be delayed in getting the services they need.”
The new policy also comes in the wake of a controversial law in Alabama, which outlaws abortion in almost all cases – including rape and incest.
Advertisers will be listed as providing abortions if they perform abortions at their own facilities, but not if they provide related services, such as abortion counselling and referrals.
Ads related to abortion on Google are currently only allowed in certain countries.
In countries where they are permitted, they are subject to additional restrictions, which may prevent them from appearing in certain regions, to certain age groups or on certain devices.

Sirika during the commissioning of the equipment at Benin Airport said the executive governor of the state, Mr. Gowin Obaseki had expressed his worries on why aircraft cannot land at night, during bad weather and low visibility and why there is no ILS. “From now on, you have the Instrument Landing System which can allow pilots in reduced visibility and bad weather to be able to shoot on approach and land in Benin, just like they will do in London.
And also, it is no longer closure from 6pm. The operational capability of the airport has improved with the installation of these equipment.” The minister also said that the Federal Ministry of Transportation (Aviation) through Nigeria Meteorological Services (NiMet) has constructed and donated a meteorological station to University of Benin (UNIBEN).
He hinted on the plan to construct a cargo terminal at the Benin Airport. “Here in Benin, We will site an Agro-allied Cargo Terminal. The vote came almost two years after the island's Constitutional Court ruled that the existing law; which said marriage was between a man and a woman was unconstitutional. The panel of judges gave the island's parliament two years to amend or enact new laws.
On Friday, only a week off the two-year deadline lawmakers in Taiwan's Legislative Yuan passed a bill making same-sex marriage a reality and it will go into effect on May 24.
Tens of thousands of people braved pouring rain Friday to demonstrate in favor of same-sex marriage outside the parliament, where lawmakers were voting on three draft bills. The successful Cabinet bill was backed by LGBTQ groups, despite the fact it creates a law different to straight marriage.
For instance, under Cabinet's bill, a Taiwanese person could not marry foreigners from countries where same-sex marriage is not legal. Thousands turned of gay rights activists, many bearing umbrellas, rainbow flags and rainbow placards, gathered in heavy rain in the capital Taipei in support of marriage equality.
Although the island has a large gay community and its annual gay pride parade is the biggest in Asia, the issue of marriage equality has divided Taiwanese society. A statement by UN quoted Guterres as saying that the appointment was sequel to the UN Member States agreement to accomplish the SDGs by 2030. The Advocates are 17 influential public figures from around the world who are tasked by the Secretary-General to promote the Goals, raise awareness with new audiences, maintain global commitment and call for greater ambition and scalable action to achieve the SDGs by 2030.
Sanusi is the only Nigerian on the 17- man list of SDG Advocates co-chaired by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of Ghana and Prime Minister Erna Solberg of Norway. According to Guterres, the Advocates are tasked with driving the action, building the ambition, and solidifying global political will of the SDGs.
“We have the tools to answer the questions posed by climate change, environmental pressure, poverty and inequality. They lie in the great agreements of 2015 – the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement on climate change. But tools are no use if you don’t use them. So, today, and every day, my appeal is clear and simple; we need action, ambition, political will, more action, more ambition and more political will,” said Guterres.

On Wednesday, the BBC Radio 5 Live presenter tweeted a black and white photo of a man and woman holding hands with a chimpanzee in a suit and a top hat, with the caption, “Royal baby leaves hospital.”
Amid widespread accusations of racism, Baker deleted the tweet and said he was sorry the “gag” had “whipped some up.” He claimed the connotations had not occurred to him because his “mind (is) not diseased.”
In a second message, Baker said that the tweet was “supposed to be a joke about Royals vs circus animals in posh clothes but interpreted as about monkeys & race, so rightly deleted. Royal watching not my forte.” On Thursday, the broadcaster said he made an “enormous mistake.”

This is in line with its commitment to improving security across the state.
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike made this known during a Courtesy Visit by the Ambassador of France to Nigeria, Mr Jerome Pasquier at the Government House Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
Governor Wike said that before such surveillance jobs are awarded, the companies should inform the State Government for proper scrutiny of the beneficiaries.
“Companies encourage cultists by giving them surveillance jobs. We must know those doing these surveillance jobs.
“When you empower them, they have more money to acquire arms. Any company that gives surveillance jobs to cultists will be sanctioned”.
He appealed to the French Ambassador to prevail on the authorities not to politicise the security of the country.
Governor Wike called on the French Embassy to take steps to ensure that Air France returns to Port Harcourt. He said the state government is prepared to support the airline through relevant policies.

The change took effect on 30th April 2019.
The move comes after the opening of the new Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, a result of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria’s (FAAN) goal to create an ultra-modern facility which would ensure efficient processing of passengers and improve the experience for travellers flying through Abuja. Both airlines and passengers will experience a vast difference in both space and processing technology for passengers. British Airways new terminal relocation is in line with global efforts to ensure seamless, safe, and convenient travel for passengers.
Speaking on the move, British Airways Regional Commercial Manager for West Africa, Mr. Kola Olayinka said, “British Airways is pleased about the new Abuja International Terminal, we embrace any opportunity to improve our services to passengers. Our newly upgraded lounge and terminal will ensure a seamless travel experience for our passengers. We’re excited to share these new developments with our Abuja passengers.”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) charges the Army and other security agencies to track down the political mercenaries and thugs smuggled into our country by the All Progressives Congress (APC) with which the ruling party unleashed violence on the nation to facilitate its rigging of the 2019 general elections.
The PDP also urges security agencies to compel the APC to immediately disclose the identity and whereabouts of the mercenaries and their traffickers to enable them (security agencies) to urgently flush the mercenaries out and shield our nation and democracy from further security threats.
Nigerians can recall that the PDP had raised the alarm when the APC, seeing that it cannot win in a free, fair and credible election, compromised our territorial borders to bring in political mercenaries from other countries to participate in their campaign rallies, as well as assist them in perpetuating violence.
