Well i got my protest going this morning after meeting my employees and conference call to my partner. (Ours is a startup company of 11 staffs for now excluding direct and indirect service providers) Company became 4 years old last February 2015. It is important to note here that other employees were already dissatisfied with events in South Africa. Two of our employees had some nasty experience in SA last year.

The meeting lasted for 25mins and will give you an insight to some decisions reached.

1. All staff lines were cut over to one of the green networks.(Trying to avoid advertising here) - 17 lines were affected

2. Data subscription for office was also cut over to one of the green networks.

3. We created 3 parallel official receiving lines to replace our existing official Mtn Lines.( I am sure by September these lines become obsolete including the other 17 mtn lines)

4. I must admit here that i was surprised at the amount of bonus data received from this Green sporty network.

5. In response to my business mail, a customer service centre was nominated to give my company support.

6. We spend on the average N65,000-N80,000 weekly on calls and roughly N106,000 monthly on data.

7. We had to cancel training in SA earlier scheduled for May and hope to effect this for Dubai in July with additional costs though to company almost 23%. (Naturally that affects South African Airways: Hotel; Car Hire; Intellectual Service providers) etc

8. The office subscribes to Premium on DSTV. This we all agreed not to renew the subscription when it expires(This was done to enable those working in the office watch either the English premiership matches at work or champions league if having worked late).

This one is tricky for me as it eliminated ghost working time.

The above may seem small but if multiplied the result can be damning on MTN. Note already our Nigerian brothers and sisters are not having it rosy working with them.
(I worked as a contract staff for 13 years and paid nothing on the last day - Matter is still in court) You can understand how i feel towards contract staff stuff.

In our company only IT-N10k monthly and Corpers-N18K monthly are temporary staff.

Well back to work.

MTN is this regard just wants to protect their interest. I do not support destroying their facilities but adoption of other means of protest. Beyond the attacks in SA MTN has since stopped been my preferred network.
Unexplainable airtime deductions.
Charges for promos
Ring back tunes i never subscribed to
Charges for internet services not subscribed to(This one they were robbing me of N100 daily until there was these sudden N1000 naira deduction then and had to go their office. I waited in their office until the reversal was made)

I think the following forms of protest may suffice for now:

1. We the people can chose not to recharge our MTN lines for a Week
2. Refrain from buying MTN branded products and more

Their are alternatives to MTN services as against DSTV but as soon as more satellite companies enter the business the force of supply and demand with quality programing will be key.

Time will surely tell.

Hi All,
Recently when i use my laptop i keep getting this error message - the network connection was reset. Prompting me to disconnect and connect my modem again and again.

1. I use Firefox
2. Etisalat internet provider
3. HP530
4. 3GB RAM (Increased it recently from 2Gb to 3Gb)
5. 32bit Operating system
6. 120Gb with 27GB space remaining
7. Avast Internet Antivirus

For those interested in buying a Toyota Venza, get yours now. Toyota has confirmed that the midsize vehicle will be discontinued after the 2015 model year.

“Toyota will stop production of the Venza at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky (TMMK) by June 2015 for the United States, and by September 2017 for other export destinations,” said a Toyota spokesman in a statement. “There were a number of factors that led to this decision including customer preference, competitiveness within the segment and deteriorating sales.”

When the Venza first arrived in calendar-year 2008, it served as another two-row option beside the more popular and RAV4 for buyers who wanted something smaller than the three-row Highlander. With bold styling that could be described as part wagon, part crossover, the Venza enjoyed the most success in 2009 when 54,410 units were sold.

Numbers started to decline in the following years, and in 2014, Venza sales were down 16.3 percent with 29,991 examples sold. That’s a stark contrast to the 267,698 RAV4s sold, and the 146,127 Highlanders sold during the same period. Although Toyota’s cutting the Venza out of the lineup, the automaker claims it’s continuing to grow in both the mid-size and small SUV segments.

Over the past two years, production for the RAV4 has “significantly increased,” while a future investment at Toyota’s Princeton, Ind., Plant will help ramp up production for the Highlander.

In addition to building the Venza, the Kentucky plant also builds the Camry, Camry hybrid, Avalon, Avalon hybrid, and other vehicle components. The plant is also looking forward to building the refreshed Avalon, and with the new ES being added to the production line, Toyota reports that no jobs will be lost with the discontinuation of the Venza.

The Venza never competed in any "Of The Year" competitions since Toyota didn't want us to think of it as a crossover, and since we refused to consider it a car. The Venza, however, once won a comparison against a 2009 Ford Edge Sport and 2009 Nissan Murano. More recently, we tested a 2014 model with the V-6 engine, which we noted was starting to show its age with an outdated instrument cluster.

The longer Venza also didn’t seem to have much of an advantage over the RAV4 considering it had a wider turning radius and more limited cargo room. For 2015, the Venza received minimal changes, including a rear backup camera, upgraded audio system, and standard towing package for V-6 models.

Yes the price is expected to fall and naturally destination Nigeria. The challenge will be the exchange rate.

Importantly is to ascertain if their are other reasons for discontinuing the production of this ride. I liked the car for its ground clearance, front and rear leg room including its rear head room. The Honda crosstour and Acura ZDX had lower rear head rooms. In the BMW you feel cramped in the rear seat unless you drive solo always or "girlfriend things"

Just read this report from Autoguide about Toyota discontinuing the production of the Venza due to dwindling sales over the years. So sad the camry crossover vehicle fell below expectation in sales.

How could a Camry-based crossover fail?

That’s probably what the collective minds at Toyota Motor Sales USA thought when they launched the mid-size utility vehicle back in 2009.

Now, after just one life-cycle the Toyota Venza is being removed from the automaker’s lineup. A rare failure by the Japanese automaker’s US division, the Venza sold 54,000 units in its first full year on sale according to GoodCarBadCar.net and has declined steadily ever since. Sales for 2014 were just shy of the 30,000 unit mark.

Toyota sells that many Camrys in a month.

Assembly of the Venza at Toyota’s Georgetown, KY plan will cease in June, or at least assembly of models for the US market will, with export models being built until 2017.

The news comes as Toyota begins retooling that plan to manufacturer the Lexus ES – which will become the first made-in-America Lexus model.

Toyota has not said if it will replace the Venza with an additional model. Rival automaker Honda has had lackluster success with its Venza-rival, the Crosstour, while Ford has found continued success with the Edge and has just launched a new model for 2016.
