Am I asking too much for a supporting cast to help Morata deliver us titles? If we can't rely on our 70 million striker, we might as well rely on griffon and diggz... |

Meanwhile I have my eye on spurs tho. If they weren't consistent in choking, I would have place my bet on them too. Spurs have sold key players and not strengthened in the market. Already, they are going into the start of the season without a right back, and while their first choice left back is in the sick bay, he's already making noises about wanting to leave. Then theres Wembley. This year go hard them. |

lordfalcao: the likes of ronaldo who have received a lot of bashes from media never let their psychological state down, the little lukaku got in his earlier years has already dented him completely... Save for the spell at Everton and co that brought his spirit back.. Lukaku is no psychological fighter like the names you mentione. That is my stance.. Ronaldo has never had to compete with 5 strikers ahead of him, so there isn't a like-for-like comparison. We don't know if Ororo would have left Manyoo if he arrived and faced 5 first choicr wingers in the pecking order ahead of him. The main thing i was pointing out is that Lukaku like Ororo responds to critics by doing his talking on the pitch. Every year for the last 3 seasons, Lukaku has scored at least 20 goals, despite all the yarns that he's not good enough, poor first touch, jambody and so on. He has won golden boot in Europe, and narrowly missed out on winning golden boot in EPL last season. The guy that sold him was forced to sign him for another club. The club that sold him desperately chased him this summer. Lukaku's exploits on the pitch convinced both his ex-club and ex-mananger that they were wrong about him - that's not something that happens often in football. Especially within the context of my original post, where Morata would let his off pitch critics affect his game on the pitch, we can see that Lukaku will never allow that. Even in his last game where Kroos was laughing at him for that offside, Lukaku still scored Lukaku is a fighter like Ororo. I'm not carrying on with this debate any further... |

lordfalcao: it is simple, lukaku you dubbed " fighter" couldn't get to fight the 3 strikers who were misfiring in front of him. So he asked me which of our youth have successful fought for a 1st team. I clearly told him I can't be foolish to mention them as fighters in the same sentence with ronaldo and co. Its the same way I can't be a fool to list lukaku as a fighter with ronaldo, messi and co..
Unless you are seeing lukaku as a fighter because of his Akpa IBU size . You don't have to languish in the reserves to prove your point as a fighter. Lukaku went, and continued to score goals to the point where the very person that sold him was forced to swallow his vomit. The club that sold him were desperately chasing him this summer. How is that not consistent with the likes of Ororo and Messi who also prove their critics wrong? |

lordfalcao: are you judging whith what happens on this nairaland?? How many times do lukaku get the level of media criticism the names you mentioned get?. The only time he got a little share of this criticism when he was in Chelsea, he ran away rather than stay and fight as a fighter you claim he is here. E be like say you no get social media, or maybe you think all the first touch jokes originated here. Lukaku did not run - while he was at Chelsea, the club bought Ba, Etoo Costa. And Torres still dey. He went out two times and came back with at least 17 goals each time, yet Jose no give am chance. So he went to Everton to keep banging in the goals. Last last na Jose find am to sign. Lukaku fits the bill. |

Buffon always thought he could, claiming Morata had everything to be among the world’s best “if only he could get over his mental hang-ups”.
Morata describes the 39-year-old goalkeeper, who recently played his 1,000th game, as like a father, the gratitude palpable, and insists Buffon sought to protect and toughen him.
He also believes this was not about enemies within, but opponents detecting weakness on the pitch, admitting: “They could see my head go down in games.” Yet hearing the conversation recalled, it’s difficult not to be drawn to it. And if Morata moved beyond those dark days, some of the issues remain. Arrrghhhh First Touch better have brought a psychologist with him to London. We heard Ben Mee of Burnley talking about how they've watched clips of Morata and done their homework. |

Bimffo: Big bros in the house, no more Torres issues, abeg.
As from today, we should know where we stand on issues from the onset.
So that this kind of long arguments, and digging won't come up again.
Oya Nateevs, borrow me 10k, If I win the league I will return it. Don't get it twisted. Torres was never an issue. The real discussion was whether Ake was good enough to justifying all the crying about his departure. When the facts presented didn't support the Pro-Ake camp's narrative, they started telling lies and reproducing out of context posts to obfuscate what was previously a straightforward debate. |

You have a mail.
From the man himself. This is only going to be mail to you if you don't know Morata. I posted an interview with Morata last season. Look at an Excerpt In his second season, he was struggling, 100 days passing without a goal and he had tried everything, from cutting his hair to changing car. Things were not right; he wasn’t right. “People think we’re machines; they don’t realise that behind a bad run there’s almost always a personal problem, some family issue,” he says. “You have feelings, you make mistakes, you’re a person.”
“I was a bit lost. It wasn’t just the goals; I was arguing with people who are important to me, not bothering with things that truly matter,” Morata continues. “It was a bit of everything. I’d left home young, I’d fought to play for Juventus and I was ‘conditioned’ by Madrid having a buy-back option that didn’t depend on me. I didn’t know my future. All that affected me and I let myself slide a bit, became distracted.”
Morata was down, his mood impacting his play. It did not go unnoticed. “I’d just finished training one day. It had been a terrible, terrible session – one of the worst in my life. I couldn’t even control the ball. The physio asked what was wrong and I told him I was sad. I was crying. I was there on the treatment table and Gigi Buffon was next to me. Afterwards he took me aside, alone, and said that if I wanted to cry, do it at home. He said the people who wished me ill would be happy to see that and the people who wished me well would be saddened by it.”
“I was lucky: I met Alice and my life changed. We’re going to get married. Thanks to her – you never know what might have happened had she not come along – and to me too, I got back on track, felt important, scored goals. Now I’m better prepared to play at the highest level. I feel that more with every passing day.” Morata's impact on the pitch is heavily dependent on so many things off it - His Wife, His Haircut, His Car... If you compare Morata to the likes of Lukaku, Costa, Ororo, Messi etc, who are more determined to score on the pitch the more you diss them, you will realise why we've been so wary about signing First Touch |

nateevs: Excavators at work. Nawa o. See blood everywhere.
Meanwhile, I just say make I clear the air. Ibime is dead right. Jackbauersballs, upon entry, was a Torres supporter. I remember that as clear as day. https://www.nairaland.com/search/jackbauersballs%20torres/0/0/0/3 I've noticed that over the past few years, you've gone from holding your own positions to agreeing with Ibime on everything, after been severely brow beaten for the better part of a decade. I've actually posted the Jackbauersballs search history for Torres for your reading, if you choose to do so. You will find that my earliest post on this board regarding Torres(in 2012) is actually slagging him off. In fact Coogar of blessed memory calls me one of the 'Anti-Torres' crew. What that buffoon has done is posted screenshots of a seperate conversation I was having in 2013 where I'm comparing Torres to Ba who them Ibime and Co were demanding must play, and pointing out that Ba would never improve on Torres numbers due to systemic failures - I think the 2 league goals in 10 league starts he scored that season eventually justified that argument. The key thing that Felicia was talking about when he started this rumour, was that I was supporting Torres over Lukaku. However, aside any posts discussing Ba and Torres together(where I am even recorded calling Torres a flop), there is no single post of mine you can find regarding Torres where I am not slagging him off. Not a single one. Do your Research before you join sides with Felicia yet again. I am sure you will agree that I am right, eh papi?

This Leicester team is not the same as the one that won the league. Some things have changed. Plus Arsenal are on a high now from the community shield victory and will want to keep up the momentum.
